Scheduled activities

Hai all,
I've installed Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 on win2k3.. so , in the new system , what are all the concurrent requests should run periodically.. what is the best practice ?
can anyone refer any doc id's or some idea on that ?
Thanks
Yusuf

yes, you can. go to transaction OPU6, and check the checkbox "Schedule Automatically". You do not need to reschedule in that case.

  • Observation when Using Alerts for Scheduled Activites

Has anyone noticed this?  A user has set the "Send Alert for Activities Scheduled for Today" option.  She noticed that some of the activites in her alert were not created nor sent to her.  However, we did find that they were follow-up activites to ones that she had sent out previously.
I conclude that the alert gathers activites that were not only created by or assigned to the user, but also keeps them in the loop for activity threads they may have been a part of.  Is this true?
This is the first instance anyone has noticed this occurance.
    Thanks for the imput!

    Hi Emily,
I am not sure what localization has this option as yours. From the title "Send Alert for Activities Scheduled for Today", it should not imply this alert shall only apply to current user though.
    Thanks,

  • Visit Plan - Visit Schedule - Activities

    Hi all,
I'm finding myself on a scenario that I think there is a huuuge gap in CRM.
I need to Plan Customer visits, therefore I use the "Visit Plan".
After creating visit Plan XX, I use the Visit Schedule to create Sales Call activities.
Once they are created, there is no any traceability with the original Visit Plan!!!!
Has anyone come across this gap???
    Thnx in advance

  • Scheduling iCal Activities from/in Address Book

Can I schedule activities, calls and to do's in Apple's address book application? Or only in iCal? If only in iCal, the suite does not integrate totally as Apple claims.
    John Gibbs

    No, but ...
If you enter a contact's birthday details in Address Book it will appear as an event in iCal.
If you drag a contact from Address Book and drop it on iCal it creates a meeting event with that person at the dropped date and time.
If you have a meeting event you can select an attendee and bring up their details in Address Book (oops, that bit seems to be broken on my machine).

  • Activity Scheduling Calender problem in PCUI

    Hi Experts ,
In Activity Scheduling calender does not show all the activities on calander in Application : CRMD_ACT_SCHEDULING.
    Thanks & Best Regards
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
Activtiy scheduling calendar does not show all the activties in calendar.
For that you have to see the calendar in activity.
All the activities that have been scheduled using Activty scheduling will be shown in the calendar and they will have different colors like Blue (indicates a clash with other activity), Green (no clash) and White ( activity in calendar accepted).
Instead of seeing through the week view the list of activities scheduled or having already appointments, it is possible to see the scheduled activities in graph format on calendar and once you accept the activity, you can see that it turns into Green or white or blue indicator.
Thanks and reward points if it helps.

  • Maintenance of visiting hours on BP for activity scheduling?

    Hi
We are implementing a SAP CRM 7.0 system and would like to store visiting hours on the customer as well as the contact persons in order to atomatically generate activity proposals based on a visit plan.
I have maintained visit hours, both on the BP as well as the relationship (contact person), but the data is not transfered to the visit plan when we add the customer or the contact person.
My question is, is it possible to store visiting hours on the BP in order to automatically generate an activity proposal based on a visit plan (including the customers or contact persons?) and the visiting hours for the BP:s?
Wich fields do you recommend? Any suggestions?
    BR
    Johan

You have misintrepreted the messages on information bar.
    1. The messages that are shown are related to the activity proposals and not visiting hours. You have the option to specify the weekday , start time and week number for each activity that can be generated.  If you personalize the columns you will see these fields. these are optional. If you dont specify them,  then the system will pick what ever slot is available ( according the header / IMG settings  in scheduling ) and show the messages accordingly.
    2. There are no messages that are shown for visiting hours even if there is a conflict.  It just picks the next slot and schedules the activities. if you try to schedule activities which fall out of visiting hours, it just puts the activity at 00.00 hrs. i think there is lot of work for SAP to do in this area.
check the time slots of generated activities  vs visiting hours  to make sure if they are considered or not. It works for us correctly, but we are on SP3. If still it does not work for you then you may have to contact SAP.

  • SAP PP - production scheduler

hi.. i am a fresher in sap pp. i want to know what is production scheduler and production scheduling profile in work scheduling view of material master?

    Hi Tuhin,
Production sheduler is The Person who is responsible To  do all Scheduling Activities. with a aim to Maximum Utilisation of the Resources.
Production Scheduling Profile: i am giving some useful notes about this but you have to do some excercise to get clear understanding of this like changing options and creating NEw production orders. Be clear with Scheduling Profile As it have very good impact on production order processing.
The following controls can be set:
    a) On creation
Automatic Order release on creation of the order (when the order status is CRTD)
Automatic Links of header Material related documents and BOM related documents items to the order (when the order status is CRTD)
    b) On Release
Automatic Printing of Order papers on release of order (when the order status is REL) - If you are planning to use order related shop floor papers configured in the order list or order print settings in SAP, then you can use this functionality for automatic printing of papers at order release.
Automatic Scheduling of Order on order release (when the order status is REL) - This is recommended to be set. But donot use this if the order planning and scheduling is happening from an external system like APO or i2 etc.
Automatic Links of header Material related documents and BOM related documents items to the order (when the order status is REL)
    c) Automatic Goods Receipt
If you are planning to receive certain materials automatically in to the finished goods storage location upon confirmation of the final operation in the order, then you can use this indicator rather than using the control keys in the order operation. Setting automatic goods receipt at this level reduces the effort of master data creation.
    d) Capacity Planning
If you are planning to carry out Capacity Availability checks in the order for the header materials (which would carry the production scheduler profile), then you need to select the "Confirm Capacity indicator" and the "finite scheduling indictor" and choose a leveling profile.
The Capacity overall leveling profile is used by the system to carry out capacity availability checks in an order when the order is created or release as per the settings in the order availability controls at creation/release. SAP has provided an option to have the Capacity overall leveling profile maintained at material level rather than setting the profiles at order levels in the order availability controls. The Capacity Overall Leveling profiles once assigned here decides the way in which the capacity leveling has to be done for the materials (assigned with this production scheduling profile).
As far as the indicators are concerned, they only come in to play during mass conversion of planned orders in to orders or mass release of orders when the user does not decide the creation or release and the system is set to create or release anyways inspite. The below indicators help the system to make decisions on capacity availability checks and helps it proceed in creating or releasing the order.
By choosing the "finite scheduling indicator" you are forcing the system to consider all the operation work center of the header material relavent for finite scheduling during capacity availability checks, and in cases where there is no capacity availability for loading operations on work centers, the system loads operations on dates where there is sufficient capacity (automatically rescheduling to dates where their is availability).
And by choosing the "confirm capacity indicator" for capacity availability checks, you are indirectly telling the system to incorporate loads in work center loading reports for where there is sufficient capacity available, in other words the operations for which there is no sufficinet capacity available will not be loaded on work centers in the work center loading report. You should choose this indicator wisely.
Recommendation - Aviod using the "Confirm capacity indicator".
    e) Confirmations
No Flor/Update of Expected Yield Surplus/Deficit - On Final Operation or order confirmation, if the confirmed quantity is less than (deficit) or more than (surplus) the operation or order quantity (confirmed scrap quantities) are not taken in to account , then the system displays the Yield Variances in the order header.
If you set this indicator the variances (if any) donot flow in to the order and MRP. This is not recommended to be used under standard circumstances since Material requirement planning would not consider the shortages and spoil the concept of net requirement planning or netting.
Adjust Operation/Component Quantities to Actual Value - In simple terms the system would readjust the planned operation qauntities of the order if you confirm the order with a smaller/larger yield than that planned (including the confirmed scrap quantities). Along with readjusting the planned operation quantities, the components quantities of the components assigned to the operation also changes proportionately.
This is applicable for the operation that has a yield variance and all the operations below the operation that has a change.
The system carries out the following in case there is a difference in the confirmation of planned quantities and the actual quantities (during order or operation confirmations)
    a) Automatically readjusts the operation quantities for all operations below the concerned operation, including the concerned operation.
    b) Automatically readjust the component quantities for all the components assigned to the operations below the concerned operation, including the concerned operation.
    c) Readjusts the planned costs for all the operations and the order, overall. Though this recosting has to be done manually and it is not triggered automatically by the system.
    d) Automatically reschedules the operations giving new dates and new capacity requirements.
    e) Automatically makes changes in the Purchase requisitions created in the order for non-stock items or for the purchase requisition created for externally operation processing.
    f) Automatically readjust the Transport requests created for WM.
    For example -
    Operation 0010 - Planned Qty = 100
    Operation 0015 - Planned Qty = 100
    Operation 0020 - Planned Qty = 100 - Component 10 - Qty = 100
    Operation 0030 - Planned Qty = 100 - Component 20 - Qty = 100, Component 0030 - Qty = 50
    Operation 0040 - Planned Qty = 100 - Component 40 - Qty = 100
    Operation 0050 - Planned Qty = 100
If the confirmed qty in Operation 0015 is 102, then all the below operations and the component quantities are changed proportionately as shown below:
    Operation 0010 - Planned Qty = 100
    Operation 0015 - Planned Qty = 102
    Operation 0020 - Planned Qty = 102 - Component 10 - Qty = 102
    Operation 0030 - Planned Qty = 102 - Component 20 - Qty = 102, Component 0030 - Qty = 54
    Operation 0040 - Planned Qty = 102 - Component 40 - Qty = 102
    Operation 0050 - Planned Qty = 102
    f) Batch Creation at Order level
If you want to have batch created at order level for certain header materials, then you can create a production scheduling profile and assign this profile to them.
You can configure whether you want Order level header material batch creation at order creation or release.
Not only, can you configure order header material batch creation, but you can also configure whether you want the batch created and classified in the order foreground or in the background (optional or mandatory).
    g) WM related Transfer Requirements
Here you can specify whether you want to automatically create WM related transfer requirements or transfer orders for the order components (whose storage location is maintained, Storage location is relevant to WM, WM views are maintained for the component) at order release.
    h) Order Type
In the production scheduling profile you can default order types which would be used while converting a planned order in to order or which can be used for manual creation of production order.
    Regards,
    Mahesh.

  • Scheduling as per given project finish date

I need to know if it is possible to arrange the project structure to do below described scheduling.
Urgent reply will be highly appricated..
    thanks,
    he.
    I would like to give the "project finish date " ;
    I would like p6v7 would schedule such that ;
    - project finish date would be the date that I gave,
    - all activity dates would be defined accordingly even if they should have been start and/or finish before project start date.
I should say that there is not any resource / cost assignment. Just activities/ original durations/ and relationships have been entered.

    user9166529,
By you saying "project finish date" I have to assume that you have some sort of mandatory completion date such as a contract deadline.
Or do you mean that you want to add a date constraint to the project finish date such as "must finish on or before" your date of completion?
If needed, you could even apply a "mandatory finish" date constraint (not highly recommended).
On the other hand, by building your initial schedule you will be able to determine your planned finish date by tracing your longest path. If this completion date does not meet your needs you then would need to adjust your scheduled activities (durations) to fit within your planned finish date.
After settling on your initial schedule, save it as a baseline (copy) in order to perform periodic comparisons between your original (baseline) and the current (real time) schedules. The result of performing these comparisons will produce your schedule variance data.
    Hope this helps,

  • Scheduled sleep not working

On command my unit will sleep. It will not sleep on schedule however.
External monitor goes dark on schedule - but unit does not sleep. Have trashed PowerManagement.plist several times, and reset PRAM but no go. Activity monitor shows pmtool, kernal_task, and Executor as slightly active.
This has happened several times in the past but was always solved by trashing PowerManagement.plist and logging out then in.
    Now nothing seems to help.
    Any ideas? Thanks

This is for a Mac that won't sleep.
First, read things in Apple doc.#25801 on sleep settings.
Here is Apple doc.#303698 with their tips.
    Mine follow;
USB devices and hubs often cause Macs to not sleep or wake quickly from sleep (notably HP printers and scanners, HP all in ones, and Cannon scanners). Disconnect all USB except for keyboard and mouse and try. If it sleeps, add one back at a time testing after each one to find the culprit.
If you've set your Mac to receive faxes, it may not be able to sleep. It might also have a damaged preferences file.
If you use your Mac for faxing, open System Preferences. click Print & Fax, click the Faxing tab, and uncheck the Recieve Faxes On This Computer box.
If that doesn't work or you've never faxed on your Mac, go to Finder/Hard Drive /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration and delete the com.apple.PowerManagement.plist and com..apple.AutoWake.plist files (if your Mac asks, type your admin. password).
If the latter file isn't present in the folder, go to user name(probably your name)/Library/Preferences, delete the com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file, and reboot your Mac.
    Hope this helps!
    P.S. One member here reported this (Michael Gleason);
"I have had this problem with my IMac G5. It is surprisingly irritating. LaCie's Silverkeeper backup software was the cause. By default it gave itself permission to wake up the computer to check if a backup was needed. Do you have this or a similar program installed which has scheduled activities including wake-up permissions as an option?"
Dave Hamilton provided this link, xlr8yourmac.com, to a member, which addresses failure of deep sleep with some users that updated and added new FireWire and USB cards.
tomhorvat adds this; After few days of messing around I found out that I had desktop background (wallpaper) set to change every 1 minute.
After unchecking "Change picture..." in system preferences (under Desktop/Screen saver), my powerbook went to sleep all by itself.
    Cheers!

  • Business Event System in Workflow

    Hi,
I am having difficulties with the Business Event System (BES).
Actually, I've read the Oracle documentation about BES. Still I don't understand much.
There are little documentation about the BES, and I still get blank point.
    Here are my questions :
    1. What the Business Event System is?
    2. Some of documentations show that using the BES, the workflow can interact with
    different system.
    What does 'different system' mean?
Does it mean to another computer (perhaps Client Server type)?
Or to another system (like headquarter which has several branches) located in
    different location?
Or to another database service in the same computer (perhaps ORCL and ORCL2)?
Or with another database applications (i.e Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL)?
    3. How do we use the BES?
    How do we define BES?
Where do we use the BES?
    Is it using PL/SQL?
Or the BES itself is a PL/SQL which is inside a procedure or function or trigger (used
    to manipulate the database)?
What does the BES look like? Is it a PL/SQL code, an e-mail, or ...?
    4. Some documentations said that using the Event (with Receive type) as a start node
(in Workflow Builder), the process will wait and respon <u>until</u> a Business
    Event is detected?
How do we interact with BES?
How do we know what kind of BES to start the process?
Do we use the Oracle Advanced Queuing?
Is it using an e-mail to start the Event?
    5. There is a statement from the "Feature Overview Oracel9i Application Server : Oracle Workflow" (from Oracle site)
"Business event messages from Oracle Workflow can be placed on or received from Oracle9i Advanced Queues, providing support for Oracle Net as well as HTTP and HTTPS communication protocols."
    and
"The Business Event System uses Oracle Advanced Queuing to propagate messages between communication points on systems, called agents, using a specified protocol. Events received from external systems are processed by an agent listener that runs on the agent's queue."
Actually what the Advanced Queuing is?
Is it the mechanism of scheduling activites such as sending a message?
Is it use to start the Workflow Background Engine periodically?
What does the Events received from external system is? Is it an e-mail?
If it is True, so the workflow process could be start using an e-mail?
    6. There is also a documentation stated that the Event can be raised using the PL/SQL WF_EVENT.Raise() API.
The Event also could be launch using the Workflow Home Page (Workflow monitor) in Event link?
So what does the BES is used for, if the Event could be launch using a PL/SQL?
Is the process of raising the Event called BES?
Such as a procedure to manipulate database tables that consist the WF_EVENT.Raise().
    What is Generate Function is?
    7. What Agent is?
    What Subscription is?
    What Event group is?
    8. Perhaps there is a guide book of using the Business Event System?
    Any light would be grateful.
    Many many thanks,
    Buntoro

    Hi
I am in exactly the same position...
Have queued up my events using wf_event and the subscription is putting them in WF_OUT ok.
So, I guess that WF_OUT is a multisubscriber queue, so when we register with it in BPEL it asks for us to identify ourselves using the consumer and/or correlation ID.
However, I'm with you in that I have no idea how to specify the consumer.
There is a CORRID column in WF_OUT and I'm banking on that being the correlation ID at the moment....
I'll let you know if I crack it!

  • How to Create Multiple Calendar Exceptions Which Occasionally Coincide

    Ok so here's my situation
I have a group of schedules that currently have technical work and routine meetings and I am working in Project Standard 2010.  I am not a fan of including meetings in technical schedules especially the recurring variety that represent informal tag-ups.
However, the team that is working the actual schedule has a significant portion of their work day captured by meetings.  They want to be able to resource level, but they have to also be able to show the impact of their meeting obligations on their
    ability to complete technical work.
So originally I was going to have these meetings entered as recurring events in the schedule; their periodicities were various.  Some meetings were daily, some weekly, some monthly.  But it became clear to me that this approach was going to become
unsustainable.  With schedules that extend out a full calendar year, the daily and weekly meetings in particular became voluminous numbering in the thousands; in some cases representing 2/3 of all the schedule activities.
This makes timely tacking, updating, and statusing of these schedules un-achievable.  I searched on the web and was given a clever suggestion: to create a resource calendar with recurring exceptions that represented meeting obligations for a resource.
I liked the idea but there was a problem.  When I was testing the idea I wanted to see what would happen if a resource had multiple exceptions (representing multiple meetings) that coincided on the same day.  Would Project recognize all of the
exceptions?  So I created a resource named "Bob" and gave him
-a daily exception with a work day defined from 9:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00 (to represent an 8:00 hourly meeting)
-a weekly exception with a work day defined from 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00 (to represent a 4:00 hourly meeting)
-a monthly exception with a work day defined from 8:00-11:00 and 1:00-5:00 (to represent an 11:00 hourly meeting)
I ensured that the weekly and monthly exceptions happened on Mondays, and then I found a Monday were all 3 exceptions would be in effect.  I schedule an activity to begin on the date, and then applied Bob to that activity.  Then I went to the Resource
Usage view to Bob's hours, and instead of reflecting that Bob could only do 5 hours of work, it showed that Bob could do 7 hours of work.
It appeared that Project 2010 would only honor one exception at a time, and it appeared to do it in a hierarchy... first daily exceptions, then monthly exceptions, then weekly exceptions.  Is that simply how it works in Project 2010?  Can only
one exception be honored at a time?  And if there are coinciding exceptions, does Project 2010 start with the daily exception first?

    Guillaume,
Most people who have familiarity with scheduling agree with John, you, and myself; that the attempt to schedule, track,
status, and update routine meetings is probably ill-advised.  I thought about doing something a long the lines of what you are suggesting (if for no other reason because it would make my life easier) to just reduce their percentage availability.
I may ultimately present that also as an alternative.  My solution right now is to create exceptions to the
exception.  Meaning: If I have a daily, weekly, and monthly exception, then I consider my daily meeting to be "The Exception" (because it has the highest frequency of occurrence), and my weekly and monthly meetings are exceptions to "The Exception".  On
the days when a weekly and/or monthly meeting coincide with a daily meeting, I just add all of their outages together and create an exception to "The Exception" on that day.  Theoretically this should work,  I was just hoping for a more elegant solution.
I was hoping someone would say, "oh yeah, you just go to options and select 'Merge Exceptions' and you're good to go".

  • Idea for week feature in lanscape view in the iPhone iCal

There is ONE reason only for which my use of iPhone calender is slightly limited. There is no good week overview of all the things in my schedule. I would also like to see all the topics of my scheduled activites displayed on the week schedule, so that I didn't have to click on the individual dates.
OF COURSE this feature should be accessed by entering calender and then turning your iPhone to LANDSCAPE MODE ! Wouldn't that be sweet!?
Being from Europe, I would also like to be able to set Monday as the first day of the week. Oh man... I hope Apple is browsing these forums for ideas

You should use this link to provide Apple your feedback.
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Being from Europe, I would also like to be able to set Monday as the first day of the week.
Go to Settings > General > International.
What do you have selected for your Region Format?
If the United States is selected, Sunday will be shown as the first day of the week with Month view along with other format settings for the U.S.
Select a region with a format that includes Monday as the first day of the week.

  • PS and MM ....?

    Hi gurus
Can anybody explain me what is difeerence betweem PS and MM..? clearly.
In PS also some MM activity has to happen, how we can map in SAP.
    Thanks
    sap-mm

    Hi
Related to the PS  Project systems Consultant has to take care of the Customizing activity.
From MM perspective to integarte with PS there is very little Customizing required. But for proper reporting you can create
Projects relevant purchasing organization & purchase groups for Project procurement, new PR, PO document types  to identify the PS procurements.
In PS the major customizing activites are
Project coding mask for WBS elements,
Project Profile, Network Profile, Budget profiles, Activity Profiles,
    Scheduling activities,
Value Categories, Planned Costs, Budgeting ,
    Progress tracking, Procurement activities,
    Thanks & Regards
