Scheduled Task - Stop/Start processes and .exe

I've running some short batch files to stop a process and an .exe at just past midnight.
and then corresponding files to start a process and an .exe at 6am
I've set up Task Scheduler to run the Stops at 00:05 and 00:10
and then the starts at 06:30 and 06:40
However when I run tests, the scheduled tasks giving a status of "running" long after the the "stop" batch files have run.
How can i set them up so they run once, then stop running so there is no danger of conflict when the "start" tasks run in the morning.

Please check the in the task manager (+show tasks from all users) to see if it is indeed still running. You could refer to the thread below to troubleshoot the issue:

If the issue still exists, the workaround is adding this line at the very end of the batch file:
TASKKILL /F /IM cmd.exe

Try this:
1. Boot from your Panther Installer Disk. After the installer loads select Disk Utility from the Installer menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the number of partitions from the dropdown menu (use 1 partition unless you wish to make more.) Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled, if supported.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the volume(s) mount on the Desktop.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled, if supported.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process will take 30 minutes to an hour or more depending upon the drive size.
7. Once the formatting has completed quit DU to return to the installer. Proceed with the installation of Panther.

Collect BPM - Start process and correlation in one Receiver

I'm using collect pattern based on timeout. Somehow in my infinite loop, in the receive step, I cannot combine "start process" with creating correlation and using it. All in the same receiver. When I try to activate my BPM, in the processing log I get, "start process" trigger removed.
Can someone throw any light on this....I've being trying this for over few hours now. I cannot get start process and correlation in one receiver. I must be doing something wrong.
Even the copied BPMCollectPattern removes the start process from the receiver.

Additional info:
The first message received starts the process within an infinite loop and activates the correlation "Correlation" by using IDoc message tyoe. Each subsequent message uses this correlation. The messages are received in the container element CollectMessage.In the loop the received messages are attached to the multiline container element CollectMessageList.

We are also in SP12. So start process is not a problem, because you are getting an Information saying that "start trigger removed" right? It is not an error.
Are you getting this eror "expression must not return multiline value" after your complete Integration Process desgin ? If So...
I think you are getting this error in Transformation Step where you are doing N:1 mapping. In this step you are mentioning Interface mapping right? Once you mention Interface Mapping in Transformation step you need to give Source Message Structure as well as Target Message Structure. According to my understanding you are getting error here. You can check these errors, while design time itself. If your entries are showing with Red Border then it is understood that there is an error.
So if error is here then I think you need to check your N:1 Mapping. In this mapping your Source side Messages should be 0...unbounded. Similarly in Interface Mapping also. Just check for Source Message Occurences...
I think it will solve your problem.

what about the 10gR2 logical standbys? When I read the Note:278643.1 to apply the patch for logical database, it seemed that the sequence to stop and start the primary/logical standby was to stop the logical standby first before the stop of the primary one. Please advise me, for a simple situation just to stop and start the primary/logical standby to support a Unix server bounce, what is the sequence we should follow ? Do we have to run some commands to stop/start the SQL apply?
Any idea or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

XLreporter scheduled tasks stopped running

Hi Experts,
We are experiencing problems on XLreporter scheduled tasks.
They worked properly with sending emails as daily routine. However for some reason they stopped running in windows Task Scheduler. We can still run the jobs thru manually in XLreporter Organizer with correct result and sucessful logs. In the mean time the service of Task Scheduler is ok for other tasks than XLreporter.
What we can see in Event Viewer is the error message with two other information message below for each run:
Error:
The VB Application identified by the event source logged this Application IXExecutor: Thread ID: 5904 ,Logged: An error occured while Initializing Job
Object variable or With block variable not set

If you want scheduled report jobs in XL Reporter to be executed independently of the logon status of the user who defined the job, you must allow Microsoft Excel to be started by the scheduled job.
1. Choose Run from the Windows Start menu and type dcomcnfg.exe. A window called Component Services appears. Choose Component Services->Computers->My Computer->DCOM Config->Microsoft Excel Application from the list.
2. Right-click on Microsoft Excel and choose Properties. Choose the Security tab.
3. Choose Customize under Access Permissions and choose Edit...
4. Choose Add... and choose Users and/or User Groups that require access to Excel. Then choose OK.
5. Repeat the procedure for Customize under Launch Permissions.
6. Choose the Identity tab.
Choose This User.
Choose a user that is a member of the administrator group from the browse button and enter password.
This user will be the one that is given access to Microsoft Excel when executing scheduled jobs. Normally this would be the Administrator user.

Halt/stop a process and then resume again

Hi frns,
I m implementing an application in which i want to add a specila functionality which is described as below :
suppose there is a folder and it contains 5 files.
FOLDER
- FILE 1
- FILE 2
- FILE 3
- FILE 4
- FILE 5
Now I have to send the folder to another pc in internet or any network.
So i will read the contents of all the files and send it to the server.
For this I will zip the folder (with all inside files being zipped) and then read the file in buffer and send to the othere computer.
Now the trouble is that if while zipping the folder; I have zipped FILE 1, FILE 2 and then while zipping FILE 3 there is some problem and the pc gets shutdown or the electricity is no more. So when the pc restarts I want to restart the process of zipping the file FILE 3 and then FILE 4 , FILE 5. and then send to the server.
So wht i am saying is that we should be able to store the status of every step and if there is some interruption in the process and then it restarts again then the status should be resumed and started at that point.
For this, I have one solution that :
when ever a file is being zipped in I will make one file and store the status that FILE 1 is zipped ,then FILE 2 zipped, ie.
FILE 1 ZIP START
FILE 1 ZIP FINISH
FILE 2 ZIP START
FILE 2 ZIP FINISH
and if process stops during zip of FILE 3 then the the status file will contain the entry
FILE 3 ZIP START
it will not contain the FINISH entry.
Now if the process shuts down and restarts I will read the file and see the status for the zipping process.
So I will find that there is no entry for FILE 3 FINISH .so I will start from FILE 3 ZIP process and then complete the process.
This should happen for every step (after zip of FILE 1 or 2 or 3 ..........., or some other task)
But the problem is that this process of handling the process resuming is tedious and will be inefficient when there are so many processes.
So can anyone tell me that is there any other way to do this or is there any inbuilt facility in java to handle such problems.

You probably need that file that you are talking about (transaction log of whatever you want to call it) but I don't understand why you need to write down the start info. Finished is enough.

Scheduled Tasks Stop Working Suddenly

We have ColdFusion 10 installed on Windows Server 2008 with IIS 7.5.
We are running one additional instance of Coldfusion seperate from the cfusion instance but on the same physical server. Our scheduled tasks, on this instance, had been running without any problems for quite some time now. Suddenly about 3 weeks ago after a server reboot our tasks stopped running. We have tried everything including writing the output to a log file. The only thing that gets written to this log file is "Connection Failed".
Driling down into some of the other CF logs we are seeing that the job is getting triggered and then the job starts but it never gets completed.

The weird thing is that if we create the same task in the instance manager (cfusion) on the same server pointing to the same .cfm file it works fine. So we know the script does work - just not in the ColdFusion Instance we need to work in.

I'm having the same problem, but am running CF on redhat linux.
I too think it's something with quartz getting itself tied in knots.
In my http.log I can see the same as you, the task is triggered but it never completes. The strange thing I have found is that sometimes just resaving a task is enough to start it again.

check the log file, to identify why it;s stopping , any exception .
Also, If you are using oc4j as app server then , you need to give current time+1 min. in start time to allow cronjob trigger your task.

Powershell v4: Start-Process rar.exe

I apologize in advance for my bad english.
I need to call rar.exe (cmd winrar) with Start-Process cmdlet (and not with &), because I need the script waits for completion of archiving, so I want to use it with -Wait parameter. But I do not really know how to type Argumentlist:
Start-Process -FilePath "path_to_winrar\rar.exe" -ArgumentList "a -df $ArchiveName @$filelist" -Wait
Where $filelist is the list with files to archive.
Actually i have tried many combinations but did not succeed, the archive just does not created.
Please help.

BUT there is another example, where files collected by lastaccesstime attribute (actually it does not matter),
however variables are set as parameters during start of the script:

All scheduled tasks stopped execute

Hi guys,
We are using the version 11.1.1.5(BP 2) of OIM. Now all scheduled task, stoped execute.
We clicked em "Run Now" but isn't inserted a line in grid Job History, in log doesn't show no errors.
This happen for all scheduled tasks.
What be should the problem??

I updated to V4 but firefox will no longer open when I click on the icon. I can see that the process has started, but there is no browser display. Stopping the process and trying again does not work. Please advise

Prior to updating to V4, firefox worked perfectly with all my existing applications. After I updated it will not launch a browser page, even though the process is shown to be operable in the Task Manager. The same problem occurs on start-up of my computer, so there are no previous processes running.
I cannot launch the broswer at all so cannot try clearing the cache etc or other suggested troubleshooting solutions.

In the Task Manager, make sure to check both the Applications tab and the Processes tab. On the Processes tab, Firefox may have two different components running: firefox.exe and plugin-container.exe. Well, in 3.5.11, it would be only the first one.

Stop Sharing Process And Restart Final Cut Pro X

Hello, i am pretty new to Final Cut Pro X. I have created and edited a video file in it. Now i am going to share it using Master File option. My question is that when the sharing process starts, which i can see in the background tasks option, is there any way i can stop the sharing process, let us say save what percentage is done, then close the Final Cut Pro X, and let us say i have to shutdown and restart my Mac again. Can i restart the sharing process from the same point???

After closing, Firefox still remains in task manager's processes and could not open again!

I'm using Windows 7 Professional. I installed FireFox version 6.0.2 few days ago. Now I have problem with this. When I close the browser, it was normal .But when I open it again, nothing happens! I open Task Manger of windows, move to processes tab and I see some processes name firefox.exe. After I close all those processes completely, I can open it up. Start Process and inherited handles on Windows

My application starts a launch-and-forget process using ProcessBuilder.start. That process keeps a handle to a file of mine that was opened (and I guess not closed) by a dll I called but didn't write. That's messing me up when I try to replace or re-write that file. (The sub-process has no interest in that file.)
The Windows CreateProcess function has a "inherit handles" boolean. Is there someway I can get Java to set that boolean to false?

Also to be sure you need at least Windows XP Service Pack 2 if not 3 (XP3) as Firefox since version 13.0 will not work on XP1 or older.
