Scheduled tasks run fine at first then stop running
This has been an ongoing issue with every Server 2012 machine that we have running tasks (a buddy of mine has the same issue with 2008 R2). At first the task will run fine as it should but then out of the blue it will simply stop running. The
last run time could be months ago and the next run time will be the normal scheduled time to run. Last run result is always 0x0. There is also nothing in the history tab as I assume it's been too long ago since the last time it ran.
I can't figure out what's keeping these tasks from properly triggering and running. Now before anyone starts going down a list of settings I should check that I might have goofed up, remember, these run fine at first and which jobs stop running properly
are completely random. Also, some of these tasks are Microsoft generated tasks like Windows Backup:
This happens on MS tasks as well as my own tasks that run fine at first but then just stop. The only fix on a per task basis that I've been able to come up with is to delete the job and create it from scratch where it will then work forever or get
stuck. It's completely random.
I would greatly appreciate any help on this matter as it's driving me absolutely nuts.

Mail runs fine at first but after awhile it freezes the machine. I have shut the mac down and restart. I am running Mountain Lion which was updated from Leopard. I reinstalled original programs from disk and solved this same problem with Contact. Mail is still a problem. May also include itunes which seems to add to the problem.
Run Disk Utility to check the SMART status of your hard drive.

I'm trying to run a scheduled task as system, but it will not run my powershell script
I have a powershell script I created that uses credentials within the script to connect to a network resource to copy files every night. It works fine if I just run the script manually. but I need to run this as a scheduled task, preferably as system. I
have checked "run with highest privileges" still no luck.
If I change the user to my account it works fine, but I need it to work without the use of my account. Is this some kind of security policy problem or what would cause this? I figure having the credentials within the script would work, but not so much.

Scenario:
We use one of the following Group Policy Preferences Scheduled Tasks item to deploy a task to clients:
Computer Configuration -> Control Panel Settings -> Scheduled Tasks -> New -> Scheduled Task (At least Windows 7)
Computer Configuration -> Control Panel Settings -> Scheduled Tasks -> New -> Immediate Task (At least Windows 7)
User Configuration -> Control Panel Settings -> Scheduled Tasks -> New -> Scheduled Task (At least Windows 7)
User Configuration -> Control Panel Settings -> Scheduled Tasks -> New -> Immediate Task (At least Windows 7)
(Note that on some platforms, "At least Windows 7" is replaced with "Windows Vista and later.")
After designating a user account to run the task, we select “Run whether user is logged on or not” option, and “The Do not store password…”
check box is automatically grayed out (See Figure 1).

After finishing configuring the task item, on a client, we run command
gpupdate/force to forcefully update group policy. However, on the client, when we check if the task is listed in Task Scheduler snap-in, the task is not displayed, and when we run
gpresult/h report.html to collect group policy result for troubleshooting, we see an error as similar as shown in the following figure (Figure 2).

Cause:
To make the scheduled task run whether the user is logged on or not, we need to store the password of the designated user account. However, for the content of the scheduled
task item is stored in Sysvol where it’s not safe to store passwords, this function has been deprecated.
Workaround:
We can run the task with system account
NT Authority\System, or we can use specific user accounts to run the task when the given user is logged on. (See Figure 3)

Even i was struggling with this same Problem to execute a batch via Window scheduler and set the setting to "Run whether the user is logged in or not".
I tried many time but the batch runs with " Run
whether user is logged on" and not with "Run
whether user is logged on or not".
what i discovered is that there was one mapped drive
path in my batch file which was not the complete path like y:/AR.qvw actually what i did i changed that map path to the complete path like \\servnamename\d$\AR.qvw and the batch executed successfully with the setting "Run
whether user is logged on or not"
The
conclusion is that check the dependency of the script on external resources because when you check this option "Run
whether user is logged on or not" It actually conflicts. This my discovery.

Running fine for months, then last night no connec...
My connection has been running fine for around 6 months now, nothing changed.
At around 12am last night my connection suddenly dropped.
The lights on the modem where on, but the light on the hub went orange.
I turned off the hub and waited for it to connect, still nothing, orange then red light eventually.
I turned both the modem and hub off, waited for them to come on again, but still orange/red light on the hub and greens every where else.
I turned them off again and back on, this time the hub connected to the modem and I had all green lights, success I thought, wrong.
Still no Internet connection. I ended up turning the equipment off overnight.
Someone told me there where some planned engineering works on the network which are the cause of the outage.

Cs6 will run fine on a dell laptop running core 5 but not on a new samsung 7 running core7.
The Samsungs splash screen gets to reading preferences but then says: cs6 has stopped running. I have deleted the prefs file to no avail. The samsung has a nvidia geforce 630.My uac has always been all the way down
One possibility is that the second faulting computer has one, or more, badly-written, or corrupt fonts installed in the OS. That can cause PS to fail to load, along with video drivers. You mention that you have "tried all sorts of combinations with the graphics card," but have you gone to the mfgr's. Web site, downloaded and installed the very latest driver?

It was written for Adobe Premiere Titler, but PS can be very sensitive to font issues.

Has anyone else seen the "Excel cannot complete this task with available resources" error message appear when Excel isn't even open? It keeps happening to me, and it's the strangest thing.
It seems like interacting with Excel files sometimes prompts it - for example, I just turned on my computer this morning, checked my email, and then opened Google Chrome to upload some Excel files. Excel hasn't been opened at any point since the machine
booted up, but this Excel error popped up while I was uploading the files.
Checked the Task Manager because I was baffled (not that this is the first time it's happened), and there's no Excel application running, just that silly error message. Choose OK on that error and a VBA run-time error message appears (not even sure if it's
Excel VBA or Word/Outlook but I assume it's Excel - it's the good old 1004, application-defined or object-defined error).
Debug is greyed out, so it won't let me debug to see what the problem is. Choosing End brings the "Excel cannot complete this task with available resources" message back for one final performance.
This happens on a not-infrequent basis: Excel isn't open, and I randomly get this set of Excel errors: 1) "cannot complete task", 2) VBA run-time, 3) "cannot complete task" again. Then it's done, until the next time it happens. Weird.
I have 32-bit Windows 7 and Excel 2013/2010/2007/2003/2002 (I know!) but the issue only started after installing 2013. I also get the "cannot complete this task" message regularly when working in Excel (generally with Power Pivot or something legitimately
memory-hungry though), and restarting the application does the trick. I don't mind a heads-up when I'm gobbling up too many resources, but when Excel's not even open, it's a bit ridiculous. It's like I have a zombie Excel! Does interacting with Excel files
via upload/moving around Windows Explorer actually trigger some sort of Excel action in the background?

As the memory error messages , it can be very generic and don't always identify the real cause of the issue. We may try to use the KB that Mr. KR mentioned above to troubleshoot it.
On the other hand, if the file is xls format, we may convert to the new file format .XLSM and test.

Next, try to disable hardware graphics acceleration from File > Options > Advanced > Display section and disable Aero Themes (if you enabled) to check the results.

This is a replacement serial number that I am typing in. I got it from a technician and was told to use it rather than my old serial number. I would appreciate some help on this.
First of all, are you entering your serial number from an administrator account, or from a plain user account? If you enter the serial number as a regular user, Aperture cannot write the registration to the system library, and you will have to enter it again, when you log in again.
Also, you may have a corrupted "ProAppSystemID" file or Aperture cannot write to the System Library.
To stop Aperture asking for the serial number, first check, if you still have an old file "ProAppSystemID" in your System Library.
Quit Aperture.
Go to your MacintoshHD and open the folder "Library", then "Application Support", then "ProApps".
Remove the File "ProAppsSystemID" to the Desktop, if it exist and restart Aperture.
Reenter your serial number, hopefully for the last time.
Sometimes Aperture writes this file to a temporary directory, when it cannot write to the Library. If the above does not work, look at the temporary directory /tmp
Use the Finder's "Go" menu
Go > Got to folder and enter /tmp into the textfield. If you see the file there, move it to its proper location.

Can FI run live first, then AA run later?
Dear Experts,
I just wonder could we let the customer to use FI first in the first phase, and subsequently they run AA in the 2nd phase (maybe 3-6months later after FI run live).
Will there be any problem in period-end depreciation run?
I guess the periodic P&L and BS may not be accurate since there is no depreciation postings.

You can create manual GLs for assets and depreciation initially where the amounts needs to posted manually. So it will take care of P&L, reatained earnings and B/S.
Once you are ready with AA implementation you can reverse the above postings and start with the option of Legacy assets.
If you dont want to go for legacy assets creation, then you create normal assets and post unplanned depreciation to specific assets which is equal to the amounts posted to manual GL accounts.

The rule runs a few times on the server, I see the data on the Prrformance Window, and the event logs. But then, I stop receiving event logs and data on the performance rule. I only see event logs for New Configuration and credentials loading.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Other rules from Microsoft MPs are running correctly and gathering data on that server.Please refer to the below blog for the best practice when we create MP manually.

Certain scheduled tasks do not run anymore after DST change
Hi everyone,
I noticed a problem on Server 2012 after daylight savings time was set effective last weekend in March. All scheduled tasks that are configured to run weekly on Monday through Friday don't run anymore! Tasks that are configured to run daily are OK. Shall
I really put a wrapper script around the executable to check the weekday myself??? Another solution to work around this bug seems to be to set the start day after DST change day, then the weekly Jobs also run OK again.

MichaelWe have experienced the same issues. Just to put some more information out there (and confirm some points from above):
We run 12 scheduled tasks on 2 servers.
Machines are "Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Standard", ver. 6.2.9200 build 9200, HP ProLiant BL460c Gen8
4 scheduled tasks did fine over the DST switch in March
8 scheduled tasks failed to run
All scheduled tasks that ran were set up with
“Configure For” = “Windows Server 2012”
All scheduled tasks that failed were set up with
“Configure For” = “Windows Vista™, Windows Server™
2008”.
All scheduled tasks, both affected and unaffected, were scheduled as Weekly, Mon-Fri.
Changing the "Configure For" field after the tasks failed to run did NOT fix the problem.
Changing the time of a task after the task failed to run did NOT fix the problem
Changing the "Start" date of a task after it failed to run DID fix the problem.
Given that there are not a whole ton more complaints out on the web about this bug, it must be that the bug does not affect every instance of the scheduler on Windows Server 2012. In other words, it must be only some particular configuration
of Windows Server 2012 that causes this bug, otherwise surely there would be many many more complaints. Can people who are experiencing this bug check and post configuration info so perhaps we can determine a common factor? Thanks.
