Certain scheduled tasks do not run anymore after DST change

Hi everyone,
I noticed a problem on Server 2012 after daylight savings time was set effective last weekend in March. All scheduled tasks that are configured to run weekly on Monday through Friday don't run anymore! Tasks that are configured to run daily are OK. Shall
I really put a wrapper script around the executable to check the weekday myself??? Another solution to work around this bug seems to be to set the start day after DST change day, then the weekly Jobs also run OK again.

We have experienced the same issues.  Just to put some more information out there (and confirm some points from above):
We run 12 scheduled tasks on 2 servers.
Machines are "Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Standard", ver. 6.2.9200 build 9200, HP ProLiant BL460c Gen8
4 scheduled tasks did fine over the DST switch in March
8 scheduled tasks failed to run
All scheduled tasks that ran were set up with
“Configure For” = “Windows Server 2012”
All scheduled tasks that failed were set up with
“Configure For” = “Windows Vista™, Windows Server™
2008”.
All scheduled tasks, both affected and unaffected, were scheduled as Weekly, Mon-Fri.
Changing the "Configure For" field after the tasks failed to run did NOT fix the problem.
Changing the time of a task after the task failed to run did NOT fix the problem
Changing the "Start" date of a task after it failed to run DID fix the problem.
Given that there are not a whole ton more complaints out on the web about this bug, it must be that the bug does not affect every instance of the scheduler on Windows Server 2012.  In other words, it must be only some particular configuration
of Windows Server 2012 that causes this bug, otherwise surely there would be many many more complaints.  Can people who are experiencing this bug check and post configuration info so perhaps we can determine a common factor?  Thanks.

    Dear All,
    I have created a KM Scheduler Task using the NDWS Wizard. I followed prakash's blog (http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/1515). My doubt is where exactly the attributes are created? and can any one guide how to create the attributes in .cc.xml file. And how does public void run( String id, Properties properties ) it works?
    The application was successfully deployed. I am able to see my task under System Administration->System Configuration->Knowledge Management->Configuration->Content Management->Global Services->Scheduler Tasks.  but I think it is not running. Can any one give some clue on this. As i'm not finding any thing uder Kmcontent>Documents.
    Do i need to configure anything to run KM scheduler Task?

    Hi Jagan,
    The status "0" for your task in "Component Monitor" is fine.
    Navigate to System Administration> System Configuration>Service Configuration. You can see here Applications and Portal runtime.
    Open Applications--> and you Task. Right click on your task folder and say Administrate. Here you check whether your task has been stopped, running. Make sure its running. ( Try refresh, if its already running ).
    In you task folder, you will see "Service Folder"  under this, you will see "RFServiceWrapper", right click on it and say configure, make sure the values are like shown below:
    Name : http://sapportals.com/xmlns/cm/sch
    Value: Value1
    Also make sure in your portalapp.xml, the values are same:
    RFServiceWrapper
    service-config
    className= com.sap.netweaver.rf.wrapper.RFServiceWrapper
    startup= true
    service-profile
    Name= = http://sapportals.com/xmlns/sch
    Prof= Value1
    You see tha the same name is used "Value1" in RFServiceWrapper both in portalapp.xml and in Service Configuration.
    You can use any other name but the it should be same in both the places.
    Make all these changes, and then restart your task in Service configuration again. Any changes in portalappl.xml, restart is necessary.

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

    Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.

    If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions on the next start in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button (in Firefox 4: right-click the extension -> "Find Updates") to do a compatibility check.

  • Itunes will not run anymore after updating

    I updated Itunes. Now when I run it, I get an error message that reads 'Itunes has encountered a problem and must shut down. I have tried numerous times to uninstall and reinstall. Not having any luck.

    FYI, we've had a ticket open for several days because our scheduled jobs (dbms_scheduler) would no longer run as scheduled after an upgrade to 10.2.0.4 on HPUX, couldn't find the solution by searching in metalink, nor did I find it here or using Google - obviously I wasn't searching correctly. There is a note id that references a set of steps that appears to have resolved our problem. I am putting this note out here so that if you encountered the same difficulty you may come across this note earlier in your troubleshooting efforts rather than later. The full title of the note is: 'Scheduled jobs do not run as expected after upgrading to either 10.2.0.3 or 10.2.0.4'. The Doc ID is: 731678.1.

    Thanks - our ticket should be getting closed out on it (our dba will be updating it), the scheduler has been running reliably since we took the steps in the doc mentioned.

  • Shell scripts do not run anymore; problems after 10.7.3?

    Hello all,
    latley all my shell scripts broke and they do  not run anymore. I suspect 10.7.3 to broke all the scripts. My scripts  used to work fine and I had no issues. I guess it started after  updateing to 10.7.3 and now I got a error as following:
    -bash: ./CamSendEmail.sh: /bin/bash: bad interpreter: Operation not permitted
    This is usually as the first line in my script is and ever was #!/bin/bash. If I do just remove the line, I am getting an error as following:
    -bash: ./CamSendEmail.sh: Operation not permitted
    Please  note, that the scripts name is "CamSendEmail.sh" and that this is just  an example. All my scripts are affected. At this point I need to say  again, that the scripts work basicly fine till a short time ago.
    Of  cause, the user who runs the scripts has the permission to run the  script. It is a standard user and it ever was. I did not touch the  scripts nor their permissions. The only change I am aware of is updating  to 10.7.3.
    I did a test and cut'n'pasted the  entire content of a not running script into a blank new file. The new  file did work! The only differences between those 2 files are now some  file system permission, I do actually not know yet:
    -rwxr--r--+ 1 james  staff  265 Feb 13 19:50 CamSendEmail.sh
    -rwxr--r--@ 1 james  staff  265 Feb 13 19:40 CamSendEmail.sh.orig
    Note, that *orig does not work, while *sh does. I could not find an information about the meaning of a + and the @ in the output of ls -al. But whatever it is, I wonder how this can be influenced by 10.7.3 ...(?) Can anyone shade a little light on that?
    I  will keep on searching for information about + an @, but since this is  somehow urgent to me, I decided to first start this posting ...

    I did some research and learned the the + and the @ are indicating extented attributes which can be managed using the xattr command. I played a little bit with it, and found out that my scripts had the following extended attribute for some reason
    com.apple.quarantine
    I deleted it using xattr -d com.apple.quarantine script.sh and the script worked again. This is one point.
    What still drives me nuts, is the fact that this attribute was set without any interaction of me. Does anyone know if Apple has build in some new security stuff with 10.7.3? Or is this just accidential and some other action, which I am not aware of, has changed or added the extended attributes?
    I realy would like to have that clarified. My scripts are part of an automated process and it took some days till I noted that this process does not work anymore, which resulted in data loss. I was happy that those days data was not very important. Now I am afraid that this may happen again any time :-(

  • Scheduled jobs are not running DPM 2012 R2

    Hi,
    Recently upgraded my dpm 2012 sp1 to 2012 R2 and upgrade went well but i got 'Connection to the DPM service has been lost.(event id:917 and other event ids in the eventlog errors ike '999,997)'. Few dpm backups are success and most of the dpm backups consistenancy
    checks are failed.
    After investigating the log files and found two SQL server services running in the dpm 2012 r2 server those are 'sql server 2010 & sql server 2012 'service. Then i stopped sql 2010 server service and started only sql server 2012 service using (.\MICROSOFT$DPM$Acct).
    Now 'dpm console issue has gone (event id:917) but new issue ocurred 'all the scheduled job are not running' but manully i can able to run all backup without any issues. i am getting below mentioned event log errors

    Backup DB
    uninstall DPM
    Install DPM same Version like before
    restore DPM DB
    run dpmsync.exe -sync

  • Office 2013 C2R Update Scheduled Task does not work

    Hi all.
    I am having difficulty getting network deployed updates to work correctly. I installed and older version of Office 2013 with the ODT from a network share and set the update path. I then downloaded an update via ODT.
    The issue is the scheduled task does not update office. If I trigger or manually run from a command prompt "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\ClientX64\integratedoffice.exe RUNMODE RERUNMODE modetorun updatedetection modeargs reschedulemode tasktrigger
    scheduledtask updateuitype background” from Task Scheduler nothing seems to happen. Monitoring Task Manager it looks like integratedoffice is called albeit very briefly.
    But, if I run "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\ClientX64\integratedoffice.exe RUNMODE RERUNMODE modetorun updatedetection background” from a command prompt Office updates, but if I edit the Scheduled Task to above Office does not update if the
    task is triggered.
    As Office can update if the right command is given it would appear that my config.xml etc is correct. Any ideas on why the Scheduled Task does not work?

    What permissions are set on the location of the updates ? C2R currently needs permissions granted for machine accounts as it runs under that context. This will change at some point that C2R gets updated.

  • Protection Error, How can I tell my network that FCP is not running anymore

    Hi,
    I had a little problem with one of my computers, when I plugged in my head phones it made a really really loud garbled sound, and wouldn't stop (while I was running FCP), so I had to force shutdown the computer. Not Ideal.
    When I restarted the computer, I got a Protection Error, and after trying many things, including fixing permissions, clearing caches, re-installing, I'm still getting the error.
    I do have FCP installed on a laptop on the network, however it is definitely not running. My theory is that because of my dodgy shutdown, somehow the network still thinks that my serial number is running on this computer and therefore won't let me open the program. Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this problem? Perhaps how to tell my network/server that this serial number is not running anymore?
    I am able to run FCP without my network cable plugged in, however, I also run final cut server, and my network is crucial. Any thoughts would be really appreciated.

    So, I'm assuming the network timed out or something of that sort as I left to have lunch, and now my FCP is opening again.

    Using DAC we can schedule the ETL to run periodically. In DAC Execute -> Scheduler you can set the date and time for the ETL which need to be scheduled. You can get detail information in guide 'Oracle® Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Administration Console User’s Guide'

    When i am executing IU AR/AP elimination, I am getting error " Task does not run with transaction currency ("per TC" option reset) "
    Message no. UCF5104
    Diagnosis
    The present task is configured so that no values are analyzed in transaction currency. However, the option "per transaction currency" is selected in the method definition. This only makes sense if you also want to analyze the values in transaction currency.
    System response
    The task is being executed without the option "per transaction currency".
    Please advise me how to resolve the issue.

    I would like to know what will be the effect  if we remove o-Per Currency option in Method.
    I would like to know, in the document also in properties tab - in Key figures - Check box - Transaction Currency. If i select the warning message not coming. So kindly let me know what exactly check box -Transaction currency is used in Document type and whether it is interlinked with Method.

    I am having a very similar problem. Until 12 hours ago, I was using my recently replaced 4s (with iOS7) flawlessly, receiving emails and calendar info from Exchange (Outlook 2010). But starting last night, it all stopped. I have deleted and added the account several times, tried making simple changes (considering whether the username is case sensitive, or not, etc.) and cannot fix it. I have iOS 7.04. Interestingly, the first time I changed the case to lower case, it seemed to respond immediately, and downloaded many emails with no sender, no content, and with a 12/31/69 date. Yes, 1969. And then nothing happened. Help please!
