Scheduling adapters
Hi,
I am exploring options for scheduling XI file adapter. What i mean by this is that the file adapter needs to be polling a shared location only during specific time interval (Say Weekly once between Thursday 3 pm and 4 pm).Can some one throw light on the options available in XI in achieving this?
Regards,
Senthil
Hi,
Some round about way of acheiving this:
File adapter schedule
schedule sender file adapter

Scheduling JDBC adapter in PI 7.0 SP09
Hello Experts,
My client is using PI 7.0 sp09. I have a JDBC adapter that needs to execute once every 24 hours but each time the server is restarted the adapter executes and starts the 24 hr cycle again from that time. Is there any way to schedule this so that it only executes at a specific time during the day? I've read the threads about the option of scheduling adapters in sp10 but is there any way to control the execution of JDBC adapters in sp09?
ThanksHi
Hope it helps..
Note:You will need to have the authorizations of the user group SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR with the role modify.
Go to Runtime Workbench -> Component Monitoring -> Communication Channel Monitoring
Locate the link Availability Time Planning on the top right corner of your Communication Channel Monitoring page.
In your case, the requirement is to schedule the Sender file adapter daily once at 8:00 at morming.
In Availability Time Planning, choose the Availability time as daily and say create.
Provide the details like the time 12:00
Then select the communication channel , goto the Communication Channels tab and filter and add the respective channel (File Sender).
Once all the above has been done 'Save' the changes.

Hi guy,
I have downloaded BPEL Process Manager 2.1.2 (the last production version, i think) and already read documentation ... I have some questions:
1) Do exist an FTP Adapter to move file via FTP? I have seen File Adapter and that it moves/handles file on the same machine (I think so). Is it possible using File Adapter? If it's possible, how can I use File Adapter to do it?
2) Where can I find a complete list about Oracle BPEL Adapter (because I also need an E-mail Adapter to manage sending and receiving e-mail with attachment or DB Adapter to manage database connection)
3) Is it possible to schedule BPEL Process activation inside BPEL Process Manager?
Thanks for your answer.
Bye,
Seba.No, but have implemented something that works.
Basically, using quartz as a servlet. This schedules the initation of a generic Java class which pulls out job config information from quartz job.xml file. This java class then calls another java class which connects to the bpel jndi server, and kicks of the bpel process.
Initially I had problems understanding what functionality the Quartz library provided with BPEL actually supported. It doesn't support reading job/trigger definitions from an xml file, so we decided to go with a later version, Quartz 1.6.0. This then led to conflicts between the two libraries if deploying your servlet to the OC4J_BPEL home. A fix for this was to create an orion-web.xml, and add:
<web-app-class-loader search-local-classes-first="true"/>which causes it to look at the version of the quartz lib deployed with the servlet before looking at the earlier quartz libs packaged inside orabpel.jar in the applib directory.
The next problem I had was related to the java class which kicks off the bpel processes. For this to be able to lookup bpel objects in the OC4J_BPEL instances JNDI server, I had to add:
parent="orabpel"to the config file ~/OraHome_2/j2ee/OC4J_BPEL/config/server.xml for the servlet web application otherwise i would get the error:
Caused by: java.lang.Exception: Failed to create "ejb/collaxa/system/DomainManagerBean" bean;
exception reported is: "javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: ejb/collaxa/system/DomainManagerBean not foundI think that's about everything, but if anything else springs to mind I'll edit the post.
If you use quartz as a servlet, you'll have to add the entry:
<servlet>
<servlet-name>QuartzInitializer</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>org.quartz.ee.servlet.QuartzInitializerServlet</servlet-class>
<load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
<init-param>
<param-name>config-file</param-name>
<param-value>quartz.properties</param-value>
</init-param>
<init-param>
<param-name>shutdown-on-unload</param-name>
<param-value>true</param-value>
</init-param>
<init-param>
<param-name>start-scheduler-on-load</param-name>
<param-value>true</param-value>
</init-param>
</servlet>to you're web.xml, in addition to other servlets you create.

No SAP Option under Adapters in SAP business connector 4.7 Admin page
Hi Experts,
I have installed SAP BC 4.7 (both server and developer) and started the server (installation done with <sid>adm user). The problem I am facing is in configuration. There is no SAP option under Adapters because of which I am unable to configure ABAP stack here. Please help in resolving this.
Below are some logs:

Edited by: Chandra Vikash on Oct 11, 2011 1:46 PMHello gaurav,
I have tried re-installing.
I am able to open the web-admin and also all the links except the ones in the adapters section.
I have checked the installation document, adapter guide for BC 4.8 but i couldnt find anything useful.
I was just wondering if it has got anything to do with the OS.
lemme know if you have come across anything like this.
thanks for the help.

Task Scheduled Start Date with RAPI
Task Scheduled Start Date with RAPI
Is it possible to have a scheduled start date for a task in a service that is generated by RAPI, and, which does not have any authorizations/reviews? RAPI seems to throw the request into the service delivery moment without calculating the tasks even if I supply a date onload (in a field for the task start date to use). It works fine if there are authorizations or reviews, which is expected, but I can't get it to work without them. Thanks!Fascinating. As a workaround could you try throwing in a dummy authorization? For example, externalize it with ServiceLink dummy and autocomplete adapters, or keep it internal, but conditional with a condition that would always be false.

Setting adapter specific re-schedule time period
When sending message in asynchronous mode, if it fails, XI will automatically re-schedule it for a few times later, for a certain amount of repeat times.(I believe our current setting, the retry period is 5 minutes, and for 3 times)
The problem: We have different adapters, and for some adapters, we have special requirement of retry period. My question is, can I set up the retry period per adapter level?Hi Wgao,
Actually this depends on the Inbound or Outbound Queues.. , I don't think so it is depending on the Interface Level/Adapter Level.

RFC & proxy adapters not working
Hi Gurus,
We have PI 7.31 single stack installed on our company.
Since the last 2 days, we are not able to have a successful communication between PI and ECC on RFC and proxy adapters.
On the previous days, weeks and months there were no issues like this one.
The error that we are getting on the message monitor is next one for our incoming proxy interfaces:

On the SM59 tx in the ERP the test connections are failing for the RFC destinations that we are using on this environment, and these were working in the past.
Also, BASIS team notify us that the programs are registered so they don't know that else to do on their side.
The actions I took were:
CPA full refresh cache
Restart all PI components (done by BASIS team)
Stop and start channels
Inactivate and Activate channels
Please notice that all these processes were working in the past and there were NO modifications on the same.
Where can I continue looking on these errors to find the issue?
Any help will be very appreciated!
Thanks in advanced!
Regards.Claudio
The error indicates that the channel has been stopped. Did you check the administrative logs in the comm channel monitor to see if someone or an ATP schedule has stopped the channel?

Hi I want to use SOAP adapter on both sides of XI. Since its way different from other adapters, could someone tell me how to make use of it.
Will I be able to trigger a process on the 3rd party application and receive a payload from it using Sender SOAP adapter ?
How can I schedule Sender sOAP Adapter ?
Any How-to guides available for SOAP adapters setup ?<i>Any How-to guides available for SOAP adapters setup ?</i>

We are collecting IDOCs in the Application system . We want to trigger this file everyday at NOON.
Should the Trigger point should be in R/3 or it should be in XI? I am using a sender File Adapter and we are on SP19.
Any related blogs
ThanksHI,
How are you going to get this message into XI ? Is it IDOC >XI>File Scenario..
or you have the out put file located in the SAP system with Multiple IDocs. Now you need to transfer this file into reciever via XI.
anyway as per the last statement you are using Sender File Adapeter. SO you need to schedule this in XI . For this you can go to RWB>Component Monitoring>Adapter Engine>Communication Channel Monitioring>Choose your channel and go with <b>Automatic</b> option. This is the concept of Availability Time for the Adapters.In this way you can schedule the Sender File Adapter

Hi,
I created a CloverETL Server project. Graphs in the project can run successfully with Integrator. But graphs failed within schedule. The CloverETL Server and Endeca Server are in the same machine. Following is the logs. How to fix it?
Thanks

Is there a way to disable OIM entity adapters while doing batch upload ?
Hi experts,
I have an adpater to generate UserID from a sequence based on user-type for creation of OIM users thru web UI.
I have attached this to Users form in data object manager.
We also have a 3-step batch bulk procedure from CSV file which checks data enterd, generates pword email etc etc and builds CSV file with records to be inserted.
In the 3rd step, scheduled task runs with CSV file as input and creates users in OIM DB.
The problem is the entity adapters are also getting triggerd which generate another UserID for each user created.
This leads to loss in sequence numbers.
Is there any way of disabling this ?? We need to have both in place, but this conflict should not arise ..
Please advice.
Regards,
ChetanEven if i check the value of that UDF and execute the code to generate UserID based on that value,the function still has to return a value right ??Attach entity adapter at Post Insert.
Create UDF with Default value "CSV".
Add one more parameter in your java class which is responsible for generating userid.
You can directly map UDF with Class Parameter.
if (UDF == CSV){
Don't Generate
else {
Generate with your logic
And if that function is getting called for every user record in the CSV file, then i cant return a dummy value for it as well .You can use update User API of tcUserOperations
