Scheduling Options for SSIS

Hi Team,
We are working on scheduling the SSIS packages.
We have narrowed down to below ways after searching on net. (I would like to know if there any other ways for scheduling.)
1. SQL Server Agent
2. Windows Scheduler.
Also, we are looking at the pros and cons of each of the method. We need to analyze/ compare the above in terms of
1. Ease of Development and maintenance
2. Error/Exception Handling.
3. Monitoring or logging perspective.
Request you to guide us.

I schedule my SSIS packages via SQL Server Agent ....If you deploy the package into SSIS Catalog database it is easy to debug the errors by lunch the reports...
Of cause somebody may turn off the SQL Server AGENT Service and nothing will work but Windows would... You have to decide what is fit to your business requirements.

"database logon" option for schedule report

When scheduling a report,
Crystal report has the "database logon" option in "shcedule" property page.
But I can't find the "database logon" option for webi report or deski report.
Is this by design.

We do not have data base logon option while scheduling the report.
I am not sure what is the significance of it in Crystal but in Webi or deski report we do not need it. We have connections for every universe/report and that has these database log on credential in it. Based on it reports get refresh and run.

Scripting Language Options for the Script Task Options SSIS 2012

Can python or perl be used as a script language in the drag and drop script task? I believe only VB.Net and C# are, but I see under SSDT Tools -> Options there are some choices for Python Debugging? I'd like to use python as my SSIS scripting language
in some cases. If it can not be used as the script task language, what are the Python options under Tools -> Options for?
Any experts out there who can illuminate?

Hello,
In SSDT in a SSIS Script task you can only use Visual Basic.NET and C#, no other programming / scripting languages.
SSDST is a plugin for Visual Studio and in VS you will find several options which are irrelevant for SSIS projects, like this Phyton debugging option.

Fast change option for changing scheduling agreements

I want to add more fields in SA fast change.. it is not possible. if we click on more fields. but in PO it is possible. is there any way to do it in SA.

Any way to specify options for scheduled filesystem checks?

Today I ran e2fsck -fD on my netbook's ext4 partitions, and was surprised to see the machine's cumulative boot and login time drop by about ten seconds. Evidently the "rarely necessary" nature of the -D option doesn't mean it shouldn't be done once in a while.
So I'm wondering if there's a way to make e2fscks scheduled by tune2fs use -D. Is it possible to specify the parameters through tune2fs, or some other way? The man page doesn't say; nor does there appear to be anything on it for e2fsck.conf.

This should be possible via the configuration file e2fsck.conf (/etc/e2fsck.conf) - it has an own man page. If you want to change options for your root system I guess you have to create such a config file in your initramfs.
An alternative would be to boot from a live cd.

Error while scheduling report for SAP users

Hi All,
We have SAP authentication enabled in our BO environment. (BO XI 3.1 sp2 FP 2.6 on windows 2003 server).
There are some webi reports based on BW Bex queries that we are trying to run on behalf of certain SAP end users. This we are doing using "schedule for" option.
Now what is happening here is if the end user has logged in once in BO system ,it runs fine. But in case user has not logged in to BO (using infoview etc.) ,it throws error saying "incomplete logon data" . Also if user changes or reset his password in BW and if he doesn't login to infoview after that ,system throws another error "Name or password incorrect (repeat logon)".
Based on these observation, we are suspecting if BO system uses stored SAP users credentials while scheduling report for them based on their last login.
Would like to mention here that we have checked option "automatically import users".
Please advice if this behavior is normal or we are missing some setting.

Or, user has to login once to infoview in all circumstances to avoid these errors.

To generate Schedule lines for scheduling Agreement when MRP is run.

Please help advise on my following requirement:
When I run the MRP for 'Single Item - Multi level' (MD02) for a material, I want MRP to generate delivery schedule lines for that material in Scheduling agreement.
Please advise as to how i can go about with this.

For this you need to set creation indoactor for planning run in SPRO.
The path is spro-MM-CBP-Carry out overall maintenance of plant parameters-Click on maintain-give your plant-click on external procurement under planning run-here you can give your option for the schedule line creation.
Traction code is omi8. Hope this will help you.

I need get all schedule lines for schedule agreement (all schedule lines = all visible in tab analysis u2013 all lines for all forecast dlv. sched).
I check table VBEP and VBEH and I canu2019t find all items.

Schedule Lines for TATX items

I know that by default, schedule lines are not active for TATX (text) items in sales documents.
I'm also pretty sure that this option is not valid even if you activate it in the IMG.
Can anybody tell me:
1) Is my statement above correct ?
2) If so, why are schedule lines not allowed for TATX items.
3) Is there any way around this limitation ?

Let me expalin what my user is doing:
In the IMG configuration of our system, schedule lines were activated for TATX item category, however it still does not work as expected.
User enters a quantity of deliverable product on line item 1 with item category of TAN.
User creates a delivery schedule for line item 1 using schedule lines (category CP).
For line item 2, user wants to send "DOCUMENTATION" for each schedule line.
"DOCUMENTATION" exists in our SAP system as a material master, but no stock exists.
User enters a quantity of DOCUMENTATION on line item 2 with item category TATX.
User creates delivery schedule for line item 2. (auto populates sched category CT).
When delivery is created, the first schedule line for both items works fine.
For subsequent deliveries, line item 1 continues to work, but the line item 2, DOCUMENTATION material does not show up.
I suspect that we are trying to use the TATX item category differently than it was intended, and that some other method would be a better fit for making deliveries of non-stocked material.

Fields update in "Schedule Lines for FRC sched." in a scheduling agreement

May I know how the following fields in the "Schedule Lines for FRC sched." section in a scheduling agreement are being updated?
We have already a new inbound delivery with goods receipt (last June 1, 2010) but the following fields still show the previous inbound delivery details:
For example:
Date of last del. 08.10.2009
Last d. note no. 91011
Last GR 21.10.2009
Last GR qty. 54.500
I wish I can show some screenshots here.

As per my view point, this is standard SAP behaviour. System will generate PR only in case of external operation.
If you go to OPL8 (Order type dependent parameters) for your respective order type & plant combination you have option of maintaining setting related to PR only and there is no option of using scheduling agreement or generating schedule lines.
I don't see any possibility to use scheduling agreement using to have schedule lines for external operation.

Schedule lines for an external operation in a production order

Hi All,
I have an external operation defined in a production order and a scheduling agreement is assigned to it in the Routing operation details. Now, i want to generate schedule lines when a production order created but the system always generating a purchase requisition. Do we need something to be configured in the background? Please help!
The idea is to have the goods receipt done against the same agreement always.

How to schedule job for APDs?

Does anyone have an idea how to schedule a job for APDs? There is a program called "RSAN_PROCESS_EXECUTE" and it can be scheduled, but it needs to be run with the specific APD. I will appreciate any help with points,

I don't know what you mean when you say " ....needs to be run with the specific APD", but you can use the program to execute your APD in process chain by creating a variant, if you want to manually schedule, you can do so as well, rsanbw-> display the APD and schedule Icon on the top menu bar, that will give you scheduling options.

SPM 2.1 Scheduling Option - Daily. How can I control when during the day?

I understand that when you enable the "scheduling" option in the report, the report runs in the background and this caches the data to table opmdm_precalc_a.
You can set scheduling to daily or weekly runs. The weekly load can be set in the "Application Properties" menu e.g. to Sunday.
If I chose "daily", what time is it run then? The same time as the alert in "Application Properties"?
I've had a quick look at OPM* and RSXA* tables but couldnt see anything obvious as a clue.

11g BI Publisher Report - Disable Schedule option

Hi,
Currently we have moved our BI Publisher catalog objects to the BI catalog and security is controlled through the web catalog for the BI publisher reports also.
As part of it, we have given 'Read' only access to the BI publisher report and the user do not see any 'Edit' option.
But the issue is that he is able to schedule the reports.
Is there a way to disable that 'schedule' option?

from the catalog manager or from analytics url select the folder under which u have bipublisher reports and then click on permissions for the entire folder or for the report and then select custom it will show u list of options like create,delete,run,schedule,view,etc so take out(uncheck) that schedule option thats it
