SCOM 2012 Web part won't show up in SharePoint 2013

Hi
I'm using SCOM 2012 en installed a test server with SharePoint 2013. I executed the command to install the operationsmanager dashboardviewer:
.\INSTALL-OPERATIONSMANAGER-DASHBOARDVIEWER.PS1 "C:\TEMP " http://localhost:9000
Everything went well.
I activated it under site collection features in sharepoint.
Under Site Contents > Operations Manager Web Console Environments > Edit i put the correct settings in.
After that I mad a new web application (since it was a new sharepoint server) and
affter that i created a site collection. (Collaboration > Team site)
When i surf to my newly created site, and i choose Add a page > Insert > Web Part, my SCOM plugin doesn't show up. According to several guides there should
be a categorie "Microsoft System Center" and a webpart "Operations Manager Dashboard", but it doesn't show up.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this :s?

Disclaimer: I know nothing of SCOM's SP integration.
it sounds like the feature isn't activated at the site collection level... perhaps the powershell script was supposed to be run AFTER the site collection was created? You might be able to activate the feature afterwards, but it may not be very straight forward
(they may be hidden).

    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to install web part wsp using install wizard.
    In SharePoint, there is no set up wizard to install the web part. If you want to install your custom web part, you can use PowerShell Commands. Before you can deploy a solution package, you need to add it to the solution database of a SharePoint
    Server farm like below:
    add-spsolution c:\yourwsp.wsp
    Then you can install the solution like below:
    Install-SPSolution -Identity <SolutionName> -WebApplication <URLname>

  • How to use the SCOM 2012 Web Reporting page

    Hello all-
       We are on SCOM 2012 SP1.  I just have a general question about reporting.  I know there is a "Reporting" tab in the real, locally installed, SCOM Operations Console software.  That part I get.  I see that there
    are many pre-made reports the for me to run.  For example under Microsoft Server 2008 Operating System (Monitoring) folder there is a
    Performance History report.  When I double click on it, it takes me to the report window where I can click
    Add Object and add a server and then click
    Run.  
    This is pretty simple in concept.   BUT very few people at my company have the full Operations Console installed on their machine.  And as I'm sure you know, the SCOM Web Console does not have a Reporting Tab.  So they have to use the
    SCOM Reporting website to run such reports.  I found that you can get to this page at the url:
    http://<reporting server>/Reports                       
    This does bring up the Reporting console.  On the list I do see a Report.Windows.Server.2008.PerformanceHistory listed. So this surely seems to be the equivalent from my screenshot above.   However, it's not even close to user friendly like
    the Reporting area in the SCOM operations console software. There's multiple fields at the top. All of which are required, and almost none of which have dropbox or other ways to help you fill them in. I have no idea what to put into these boxes or the format
    to use.
    What am I missing here?  Is there a more user friendly interface anywhere?  In an ideal world, I'd really love to have a user interface where I can post the links to a few popular reports, like CPU and Disk Space for example.  Then ideally
    all the user would have to do is select their servers and the time frame and that's all.   Which really is what you do in the Operations Console software.   So isn't is it that easy in the web reporting tool?  Is there a guide or how-to
    section somewhere I'm missing?  Or just a more friendly looking way to get at this information?

    Well, my first screen shot above is squished, so you really can't see it.  But what I'm saying is that the same report in the SCOM software has the level of configuration I want on it.   It allows you to pick the date range and add objects
    to it, then you can click on Run.     However when I access the same report on the reporting console, it has all these extra fields.  None of which I know how to fill in properly.
    I would ultimately like my customers to be able to do exactly that in the web version.  Pick their server and their date range and run it.   There are not likely going to be too many reports like you're mentioning which I can completely configure
    before hand, so they just click on the link to have it run.  Most times I'd like my users to at least be able to select a server name.
    Any idea how I would simplify the web version of the report?  Or why they look so very different?

  • Announcements Web Part -- Able To Show More Than One At a Time?

    I am currently using SharePoint Online and loving it, but I have come across one item that is giving me a problem. I am working on creating a corporate intranet site and when I add the "Announcements" web part it only allows me to display one announcement
    at a time -- I'd like to be able to show two or three rows of two or three announcements per row -- but I am only able to click an arrow to go to the next one so there is ALOT of wasted space on the page. One of the things that I really like about the announcements
    web part is that it is clean and having the ability to put a picture behind the next and then see more of the information after hovering over it is just awesome in my opinion.
    Could someone please assist or suggest another alternative?

    If you have the list filtered, so that the web part only shows those entries that are declared as "Announcements" (assuming you have utilized an announcement type), ensure that the list item has the correct attributes.
    Other than this, I can only think that the web part may be formatted such that only one announcement can be shown. Ensure that the web part does not have a fixed height/width. 
    Again, hope this helps, or at least takes you one step closer to a resolution. 

  • SCOM 2012 Network Monitoring Does Not Show Servers

    We are testing out the network monitoring piece in SCOM 2012 but for some reason it never does show the servers.  We have a test switch with a monitored server connected directly to it but after the discovery completes it doesn't show the server as
    being connected.  The switch in question is a Juniper and if you look at the diagram view for the device it does show all of the ports under "not monitored" and the Processor and Memory under "Healthy."  The following event sequence shows up in the
    "Network Discovery Progress Events" view:

  • Customizing the blog post web part to not show entire entries

    I have a blog site, and as you know, the posts web part shows the entire contents of each listed post, rather than one paragraph, followed by a "click here to read more" link.  I know that there is no out-of-box functionality for this, because of course,
    why would there be? Who needs nice looking blogs?  Anyway, I found this on the internet:

    In 2010 you can make the same changes using a similar method.
    Open the default.aspx page, in code view click in within the blog area. In the ribbon click on the List View tools >design. Click on Customize XSLT in the Actions panel. When you do that you will be able to see all the code.

  • What's New Web Part will not show updates from Team Discussion Web Part

    I have a Team Discussion Web Part which I want to show in the "What's New" updates Web Part. I have indexed the "modified" column of the team discussion and added it as a target list for the What's new Web Part, however updates to the Team
    Discussion are not showing up in the What's New Web Part.
    If I happen to tell the What's New web part to "use the below person column as a filter" and choose "Modified By", the page will crash with an error stating that the What's New web part caused the failure.
    Any suggestions?

    According to your description, I could reproduce this issue.
    The following alternative solution consists in using the " Team Discussion " web part (with a customized view) in place of the " What's New " web part.
    Alternative solution steps:
    1. Create an index on the “ Modified ” field of the “ Team Discussion ” library in the Site Collection page in which “ What’s New ” web part’s functionality is needed
    2. Insert a “ Team Discussion ” web part in the same page and position where the “ What’s New ” web part was intended to be situated, or wherever it is needed
    3. Click on the “ Save & Close ” icon to save the page with the new “ Team Discussion ” web part
    4. Click on the “ Edit Web Part ” option in the  “ Team Discussion ” web part’s context-menu and click on the “ Edit the current view ” link inside the “ List Views ” section of the web part’s settings box
    5. Choose the desired display columns in the “ Columns ” section
    6. Set the “ Sort ” and “ Filter ” sections settings according to the following screenshot:
    7. In Step 6 , likely two identical “ Modified By ” options will be seen inside the “ Filter ” section’s “ when column ” drop-down.
     Selecting the second of these two “ Modified By ” options will likely cause the “ Team Discussion ” web part to not  work properly, so please make sure to select the first “ Modified By ” option. If, in the unlikely case, after  selecting the
    first “ Modified By ” option the “ Team Discussion ” web part does not render properly, go back and  select the second “ Modified By ” option and the web part should render properly
    8. In the “ Item Limit ” section, set the “ Number of items to display ” to the maximal amount of items you would like to be displayed inside the web part (for example:  5 )
    9. Click the "OK" to save the settings

  • Using term set as refiner in content search web part does not show all used terms

    When you create a terms set (12 terms with +/- 10-20 child terms) , attach it to a site column and allow multiple values to be selected the search service does not find all used values in the REFINERS tab of the content search web part.
    Example:
    Field ‘Tags’ is the term set which can be refined. We want to do this in the REFINERS tab of the content search web part.
    Tags is containing following fields:
    •Course document
    •Poster
    •ALS
    •Before
    •During
    •CPR/AED I
    In all libraries we used +/- 15 different tags already.
    Example of a tag field in the library:   "Poster;ALS;Belgium"
    The problem is we can’t see all of the used tags in the refiners tab when you open it for the first time.  (You can see Belgium or Cyprus is not in the list of tags.)
    When you select one tag and add it as a refiner, the others eventually do show up. But never all of them together.   It’s like he is only showing the most used (and maybe first selected?) tags first. I also think he might be having some trouble
    with multi value selections in the tag field.
     Does anyone else have the same issue as we do? And is there a solution already?

    According to your description, my understanding is that all the used terms cannot display in the Refiners in Content Search web part.
    If the results display in the Search Result Preview, then the terms used in these results can be displayed in the Refiners tab.
    I tested the same scenario per your post, and when I first opened it I can view all the terms which were used in the search results listed under owsmetadatafacetinfo.
    I recommend to do a full crawl and then you can view all the terms used in the search results are displayed under owsmetadatafacetinfo.

    I have the same error as above when accessing the Web Console for our SCOM 2012 R2 environment - I have installed the web console on a standalone machine with mixed authentication - i have windows authentication enabled and NTLM is at the top of the providers
    list. I have gone through the process of registering the SPN's and configuring constraint delegation.

  • Web-part issue after migrating from 2010 to 2013

    Correct me if I am posting this question in the wrong section.
    The background is: Migrating and Upgrading SP2010 to SP2013. I did it, and alot of it works, as it should, though I have one issue.
    I did deploy all the solutions to both the 14 and 15 hive, and activated all the propper features. Now, I have one web-part which breaks down. It is a Web-part that communicate with a SAP endpoint, to retrive some data and show dem. The Web-part work fine in
    the 2010 environment.
    As soon as I enter the site where the Web-part is placed in, I am being redirected to the "Maintanence Web-part, error message". If I delete the Web-part I can access the site with no errors. The code works fine in 2010.

    No, I did not migrate the content from 2010 web-config to the 2013 server. This is something I will take a look at, to see if there are some missing points in the config-file of 2013.
    And just to be sure, when we are talking about the config file, it is the one who is associated with the Web-applikation? So, IIS --> WebApp --> Explorer --> and that web.config?

  • Add Right Side Column and Web Parts to custom Master page in SharePoint Online

    Hello everyone, 
    I hope this is a simple question, however I was fighting the issue it presents for a while. I am in the process of customizing SharePoint Online Look-and-feel with a new layout.
    The site collection was created as a
    Team Site before I got involved with the project, and populated with numerous sub-sites and pages. I activated required
    publishing features, created html with corresponding styles and graphics, and used the Design Manager to convert the html file to the custom Master page. While SharePoint automatically assigned “ContentPlaceHolderMain” div area, I
    also used default Oslo page as example to copy sections of the code for dynamic components (left column and navigation, recent items, the ribbon, etc.) from it and placed them in my new master page, pointed all CSS references to
    my custom style sheets, etc. Everything works great, however I need to make one last addition -
    my task is to make changes to display web parts such as Calendar and Recent Documents in the right column in the Master page.
    My custom layout has a header, footer, main pan and two side columns. Most of the default master templates come with the LEFT column already embedded and populated with several placeholder
    to serve dynamic content (PlaceHolderLeftNavBarTop, PlaceHolderQuickLaunchTop, PlaceHolderLeftNavBarDataSource, PlaceHolderLeftActions, so on).
    My challenge is that I have the RIGHT side column as well, for which I don’t think the default placeholder exists. I need to add a small Calendar box and Recent Documents parts to it, so they
    display across the entire site governed by this master page.
    The issue is –
    even after activating Publishing features (enabled SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure under Site Collection Level, and SharePoint Server Publishing under the Site
    Level), there is no Snippet feature (usually available under the generic Publishing Site); this customization of the Team Site allows using Designer and apply custom templates, themes, so on, just like you would under the Publishing collection, but not the
    Snippet utility I could use as the solution to embed the web parts on the master page.
    Recreating the entire site under Publishing Collection is not an option due to the directions I was given, I am to use this existing one, and need to see if
    there is a workaround to either activate the Snippet feature or use another solution to display the web parts inside of the column in the Master page.
    If the only solution is to use Web Part Zone, what are the steps to add it AND populate it with the abovementioned apps?
    Can anyone suggest how to create a workaround and add this feature? The environment is role-based so both elements need to be dynamically rendered based on the user’s role and activities.
    I am more of a front end designer than developer, so if any custom coding and set up required, please kindly provide some basic steps, if possible?..

    Updating your Master Page to also include a right rail should be sraight forward enough with a new div or divs in your master page and then the proper styles to make room for this column as well as position the column.
    I have not seen why you cannot find the snippet gallery link when previewing a HTML Master Page in the browser. Have you tried loading the snippet gallery by its url? As an example, for my tenant on SPO, I can load the Snippet Gallery for the olso.master
    with the following url:
    https://pixelmill.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/ComponentConfigureControls.aspx?ComponentName=TopNavigationNoFlyoutWithStartNode&Url=%2F_catalogs%2Fmasterpage%2Foslo.master
    Change the domain to match yours as well as update the "Url" querystring var to point to your master page. See if that loads the snippet gallery.

    Thanks for your details steps, with your steps I can reproduce the issue using SharePoint server 2013 without any CU or PU.
    The items not displayed when group by the calculated column.
    However, I had done more research and test, I had found that it’s a known issue.
    I had tested with the SharePoint server 2013 which applied the December CU, the issue disappeared, the items displayed well.
    You can install the December CU for SharePoint server 2013, then test whether it works.

  • Office Web Apps Load Balancing Configuration Issue for SharePoint 2013

    I have load balanced servers dedicated for Office Web Apps with name “md1xxxwfe1” and “md1xxxwfe2” 
    , both this servers are load balanced by CISCO Load balancer. And I have mapped Load Balancer Virutal IP with host name officeapps.jda.corp.local in the DNS records.
     Things are working fine if I add new farm by using New-OfficeWebAppsFarm
     with server name as internalurl in PowerShell console
     as like “  -internalurl http://
    md1xxxwfe1  but when I use –internalurl officeapps.jda.corp.local it is not working at all. I’m not getting what to do at this point.

    For  troubleshooting your issue, please take steps as below:
    Just about any load balancing solution will work, including a server that runs the Web Server (IIS) role running Application Request Routing (ARR):Install
    Application Request Routing
    Install the certificate on the load balancer as described under Securing Office Web Apps Server communications by using
    HTTPS.
    Make sure you have configured the cluster correctly for full internet name:

  • 2012 MacBook Air won't show on my projector

    I have been using the same exact setup with the 2011 MBA but the new one won't work with my projector.  I have a Acer X1161P 3D-DLP Projector and the proper cables since this has previously been working.  Is this a known issue?  I saw that in the first update there was something about external monitors.  Any help would be greatly appreciate.

    This is a BIG issue for me too. 6 new airs and sales team are FUBAR! Here's what I've found:
    This is for the latest 2012 thunderbolt air
    Tried on 2 projectors, 2 screens
    ALL work perfectly on other airs and pro's in the office
    When connecting, I have to test loads of different res/Hz combinations and none work 100%, but 1024/75Hz works to show around 75% of the screen
    Software update (screen patch) didn;t make a difference
    Rebooting (full shut down!) with VGA connected DOES work! On all 4 screens, all 6 airs. This IS a solution for some, but NOT for me; my reps pre-load their browser with 20 screens, and then demo in areas with no 3G coverage. So a reboot kills them.
    The encouraging part is that it CAN work, which I think means Apple can patch this. For me I have 6 brand new top of the range Air's that I may as well throw away if this isn't solved soon
