SCOM Console: Override display is not valid when Windows7 display is 'large'
Hi. I changed my Windows 7 display to large font (150%) and then found that if I tried to overrride a rule for an object in SCOM 2012 console I got a weird display, nothing like the usual one. When I changed my display to medium (125%) the override
displays correctly.
I thought I'd post this because I spent a while deleting profiles, re-installing SCOM console etc. before I figured it out. Might help someone else...
Same issue here. I'm afraid this is by design.
Only thing you can do is change your font size back to 100% and change your display resolution or open a remote desktop connection into a SCOM management server and work from there.

It works fin, but the designer keeps craping out. This was not happening until recently. Not sure what is up with it. -
Serial number not valid when upgrading from LR4 to LR5 [was:leewayphotography]
J’ai acheté LR 4 il y a 1 an avec le n° de série sur la boite. J’ai acheté l’upgrade pour LR 5 et je n’ai jamais pu installer la version définitive avec ce n° de série.Ce n° de série n'est pas valide. La durée version d’essai est terminée et donc je dois retourner à LR 4 pour continuer à travailler ? Pourquoi cela ne fonctionne pas?

If you have failed to install SCOM reporting service, you may encounter below error when you reinstall it:
“The specified SQL server instance is not valid”.

Reason
This issue may be caused by multiple reasons, for example the reasons in Figure 1.
However, you may find that SSRS and Report Server website are configured correctly and no SSL or proxy Server is used. In these scenario, you can open the log file under path
to find the root reason:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles
Later, you will find the error as below:

Solution
According to the error message, you can delete encrypted content by following the steps below:
Open SQL Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
Select “Encryption Keys”.
Click “Delete” to delete all encrypted content. (Figure 2)

After that, we can install SCOM reporting service again, after successfully install reporting service, we should see the SCOM operation console as below:

In addition, you may also encounter other errors when installing SCOM reporting service, and the troubleshooting steps may be different. However, we can also check SQL reporting
service logs to find the root reason.

I have a problem with an PropertyGrid enum property that uses a type converter.
In general it works, but when I double clicking or using the scoll wheel, an error message appears:
"Property value is not valid"
Details: "Object of type 'System.String' cannot be converted to type 'myCompany.myProject.CC_myCustomProperty."
I noticed that the CommitValue method (in PropertyGridView.cs) tries to convert a string value to a CC_myCustomProperty object.

Lov is not validating when i open a form for first time
hi all,
i am using form6i.
i have one multi record block. in which lov is attached to it.
but when i open the form for first time the item corresponding the above said is not showing and if i enter the value then also its not validating against. its showing error frm-40210
but when i click on other item and come to this item Lov is showing.
what could be the reason for this strange behaviour.
i have checked set_item_properties too(there is properties have been set)

I'm trying to get a list of folders in a hierarchy that don't contain any mp3 files. (The goal here is to eventually clean up all the "empty" folders that only have album art, thumbs.db, desktop.ini, etc. files left). So I wrote a quick PowerShell
command to try to do this. But it doesn't seem to be working.
I already checked out this thread <Get-ChildItem
SomeFile[].txt occurs error because of the [brackets]: "specified wildcard pattern not valid"> and I think I'm using LiteralPath correctly. Any other hints for troubleshooting this problem? Here's the command I'm using.

I am trying to import data from SQL to Power Pivot using a SQL query like below:

Audition CS 5.5 says "serial number not valid" when starting, but all other products work?!

I use CS 5.5 Production Premium for quite some time now.
Today I tried to start Audition for the first time.
It gives me a choice to continue to use as a trial or provide the serial number.
When I enter my regular CS 5.5 s/n, it says "the serial number is not valid for this product".
All other products work.
What do I have to do to make Audition start?

Why is iChat saying my screen name is not valid when I've never had a problem before?
All of a sudden, my iChat will not connect to my mac.com account. I keep receiving an error message that says "the screen name entered is not valid". I've never had an issue with this account before. I thought maybe this was because I just traveled abroad yesterday- however, I was successfully able to log into my iChat account when I first arrived, but when I went to login again, I started to receive that error message. I've used this account in the past when I've traveled abroad and never had an issue. Why all of a sudden? Help!

There does seem to be a glut of people who use their @Mac.com Screen Names in iChat or Message that travel to different countries that then find they cannot login

It seems the people at AIM/AOL that contact you do not always know about the agreement that Apple Issued IDs (@mac.com and @me.com) are also valid AIM Screen Names.
They will
1) Want you to change the password (it will not make any difference to the Flagging of your "account")
2) tell you they can't find that you have an Account with them (you don't it is with Apple)
Remind them gently that there is an Agreement with Apple to allow Apple IDs as Valid Screen Names
That their Servers check the Names and Passwords with the Apple Servers but the Suspended Account Flag is set at their end and they need to Undo it.

When is a valid query not valid when made into a subquery?
I have a query that works great, but when I wrap a "select * from ( [insert regular query here] ) t_inline_view;" around it, it fails with an error of "ORA-02016: cannot use a subquery in a START WITH on a remote database".

My main query, which performs well and works like a charm, contains remote database links, a hierarchy query "start with ... connect by ....", and some unions. The original query is in the previous thread for you to review if you like.
I am simply asking what syntax/method/etc. is being used in my query that is causing it to break as a subquery, but work as a regular query? If it's easier to just give me a link to some documentation describing all the things that will cause a query to not be a valid subquery, that is fine with me.

error message text?You're kidding me, right? The real weird problem is that my query already has a "start with .... connect by ...." in a subquery against a remote database. If I took the error at face value, I would expect to get that error even when running my query as a stand alone query. It doesn't error until the entire thing is a subquery. I'm just trying to understand what's wrong with my query and why it seems to error when it shouldn't and why it doesn't error when it seems like it should.
If that doesn't help be sure when you post here to
include full version information.The database running the query is 9.2.0.4 and remote database where all of the objects are stored is a 9.2.0.8 database.

Thanks. I checked the 9iR2 documentation and found this. I am familiar with what it means by a "scalar subquery expression." The link I found is http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96540/statements_103a.htm#2075989. I found the "START WITH Clause" section by doing a "find" when the page loaded.
