Scratched MBA screen, curious about repair pricing

Well, I "personalized" my 11" MBA a couple months ago:
Seems like a modest scratch, not a "crack", but I think I want to try selling at some point.
So, trying to get a rough estimate for Apple doing a repair.
I know, I know, take it in to Apple. Just curious if anyone's had similar repair experience.

MBA screen flashes black for about 2 seconds after I open the lid from sleep?

My MBA has recently started flashing a black screen for about 2 seconds after I open the lid. This seems to happen after the MBA has been asleep for a while. It doesn't seem to effect the performance (at least not yet). Any suggestions?

Have also since found out that to start FF4 in safe mode you just hold shift whilst double-clicking the icon. We only find these things out after the event, murphy's law!

Ever since I got my IPad the smart cover half the time does not put the Ipad to sleep. Also, the cover is scratching my screen. This smart cover is really causing me to regret my decision to sell my IPad 1 and get the second generation IPad. Also, Safari is and some of the other apps are constantly crashing, I am getting really frustrated where should I go from here the apple store has not been much of a help?
P.S.
I hope that this is not like the first generation Apple TV I bought which has never worked correctly (waste of 220 dollars).

About the pricing procedure of purchasing order

can anyone tell me about the pricing procedure,conditions & texation of Purchase order?
and hoew to maintain all those term in Customisation?

The Basic thing is Condition Technique. In which there are
1. Access Sequence 2. Condition Record 3. Condition Type 4. Condition Table.
A Access Sequence access a Condition Record of a Condition Type in a Condition Table is a Condition Technique.This is a simple logic
Here the Condition Type is very important like PB00, PBXX,RA01 etc.
In the background every Condition Type has its own defition means the purpose of the Condition Type like, is it for Pricing or Percentage, Quntity base, Accrual Feilds etc is to be defined to work this functions. Normally we use the existing ones without any risk. But some cases, we have to Create a New Condition Types as per the organisation requirement.
The Pricing Schema is useful to minimise condition types while mention prices for Vendor on the basis of Pricing Schema which we defined according to organisation requirement.
The Pricing Schema means the calculations procedure of Condition Type.
Ex. RA01 - Discoount % is caclulated on PB00 - Gross Price means
RA01 is based on PB00 like that we have to define in the Pricing Schema
which makes easy to use in real time.
Here PB00 has the Access Sequence - 0002.
But RA01 does not have the Access Sequence.Why because it is a dependent on PB00. But both are Condition Types.
In the system, by default some standard Scheme will be there at Vendor Schema Group in the Vendor Master Screen means the standard one is assigned which is very lengthy which may fullfil our requirement. But some cases which may not fullfil our requirement, in such we have to define.
For the configuration, I may not able to explain properly through here but will give some idea.
Configuration: SPRO - IMG - Material Management - Purchasing - Conditions - Define Price Deternmination Process:
1. Define Access Sequence
2. Define Condition Type
3. Defince Calculation Schema:- Here you have to define the Schema - Define Schema group
1. Define Schema Group vendor
2. Define Pricing Schema group
3. Schema group for Purchase Organisation
4. Assign Schema group to Purchase Organisation - Define Schema determination
1.define calculation schema for Standard purchase organisation
After completion of the Schema Group, we have to assign it to Vendors.
Then whenever we use any transaction with this Vendor, the concerned Schema will work as configured by us.
The Pricing in MM is vast because each Condition have its own importance and each Access Sequence have its own importance. So you need not bother about this. First you learn how to define the Calculation Schema through the above.

Scratch on screen - anybody know how to get rid of it?

I have a deep, but superficial scratch on my Macbook air glossy screen. The scratch is only in the film on top of the LCD display and the hardware underneath is not affected. Does any one know of a polish I could use to get rid of the scratch? I worry about applying abrasive to the film as I fear it may make the problem worse. Anybody know what to do?

If the scratch is deep, I would leave it be, as most cleaners/polishes won't remove deep scratches. Doing anything could make it worse, leaving it be is the _best option_. If it bugs you too much, you can spring the $200 to replace the screen yourself.

Have the iPod serviced by Apple for a flat fee or send it into a third party repair company to have them repair it for a little less. A simple Google search for iPod Touch screen repair should give you a number of results to work with.

My boyfriend bought me the latest iPod touch for Christmas 2011. I've had it 4 months, yesterday I put it on the coffee table round my mates and my mate accidentally knocked it off (table was no higher than half a metre), when I picked it up I realised there is a crack in the screen. I know apple give you a year warrantee on all iPods but my boyfriend never bought the extended warrantee. As I've only had my iPod touch 4 months will apple fix it for free or will I have to pay? Also how long does it take to get repaired?

It is not covered by warranty. However, sometimes if you make an appointment at the Genisu Gar of an Apple store the Genius will exchange it at no cost. Otherwise the exchange price is:

Curious about capture preview

Just received and installed my new 8-core Mac Pro and was excited about running Premiere Pro CS5 on it. I have a Canon HV20 with a number of tapes full of HD video, and I monkeyed around with the HV20 with Premiere Elements on my last computer (a PC running XP) so I was anxious to see what I could do with the Mac and looking forward to creating some discs out of the footage that's been languishing in a drawer.
My very first task was to capture some video and I was surprised to see that during the capture, there was no on-screen preview. Apparently I'm supposed to peer at the tiny LCD and try to use it for my clip caps. I was really surprised and figured I'd missed a setting somewhere, and then I found this link:

which in italics states that the Mac OS is apparently incapable of providing this function. So I'm curious - why not? It worked in Elements on my 7-year-old PC. What's the deal?

Oh well, no problem. I'm relatively certain I had preview on cap in Elements on Windows. But it's been a few months.
Anyway, how 'bout my second question:
"A second thing that I'm curious about: why the heck does capture stop every time Premiere loses focus? I can't even check an email while it's capturing because it instantly halts once it's not the focused window. This behavior is particularly annoying."
Any way to modify this behavior? I'd like to be able to do more than one thing at a time with my computer.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer).
On the basis of the specifications you have given for your set up, mirroring should work.

F4 Input Help in Variable Screen takes about 30 Minutes to display.

We have a web-report in which the time taken to display all the entries in F4 Input Help of the variable screen takes about 30 minutes. Have anyone experienced so long a wait time while accessing F4 Input Help in the variable screen and is there anything that we can do to reduce this wait time.

Why is ipod repair pricing so outragously expensive?

Hi all,
My 3rd gen 40gb ipod has failed recently after barely 2 years of usage. I am pretty sure it's the hard drive that is failing. I can clearly hear weird noises it makes. I can't even access it at all anywhere, like on windows explorer or itunes 7.01. I just get a ton of different errors everywhere. I tried absolutely everything from restoring to factory settings to trying like 10 different itunes alternatives or trying on a fresh computer reinstalling everything... It's hopeless.
So anyway i researched and found out i had to pay 300$ and 10$ shipping canadian (i'm from quebec) to get my 3rd ipod repaired (replaced). http://www.apple.com/ca/support/ipod/service/prices/
How can this make any sense? How can it be logical? Justify such a high price. I can get a freakin 30gb 5th gen new video ipod for less from any popular place like tigerdirect.com or futureshop.com ....

Not covered by warranty. If you make an appointment at an Apple store, you will be offered an out of warranty replacement. Cost is US $199 for an iPhone 4S.

I am curious about this sound

It may sound a bit weird but Im just curious about it and want to see if any body can hear what I can hear when knock on the left hand side of the home button with your finger tip, might hear some little noise. It sounds like a little ball is in the iphone. Also when u knock on the area around camera lens has that sound as well. Does any body can hear it as well? or is it just me realising this?

My friend is using same model iphone4s and she has exact same sound on both areas..
it sounds like ' T ' sound. Think i should ask more people who uses 4s. Oh and you have to place your iphone on the table and try.
