Screen calibration and keyboard fault

I got my phone a few months ago and have had nothing but problems.
I've wiped the phone. Restored to factory settings. Perform a repair of the software using PC Companion, without success. I've looked on various support boards to figure out what is wrong with my phone.
Basically, the keyboard calibration stops working after about 30 seconds of use. If I'm holding the side of the phone it especially stops being able to register my typing.
The D and C buttons rarely work. If i select d it usually jumps up and selects E. If I type C it usually changes my selection to Z or X - even though it acknowledges I typed C. Typically when this happens I am unable to type any meaningful words. I have to close out of the application. Let the phone sit for a few minutes, and then try again. This happens more often than not.
Often the screen becomes unresponsive and the whole phone vibrates when I try to press back to the home screen. I can't select apps or do anything with my phone.
This problem has persisted for over 3 months and I genuinely don't know what to do. I have videos of me trying to type an email, and the gibberish that is typed when I type rational words. It sometimes takes >5 minutes to type 'dear' or a similarly easy word.
The support has been vastly inadequate. Does anyone have a suggestion? My service provider has said Sony is responsible. I'm sure Sony will say i have to go to my service provider. Whatever the case, I am greatly disadvantaged by these technical glitches and I need advice on what might actually be wrong with the phone.

Have you tried a Safe boot? Left side SHIFT at power up, hold till you see the progress bar then release and allow to finish booting,. (note this will take longer that usual) Thsi will disable 3rd party software/extensions. Login and see if the issue still persists, if not logout and boot normally.
Another thing you can try is creating a test account and see if it has the same issue there, this will help determine if it is related only to your account.
Also check About this Mac (Apple logo) option, system information, power in the left side bar and check the battery info.
If you have already tried these steps, you should include what you have already tried so people will not offer redundant suggestions.
If you still are having issues, it looked as though you were typing that you thoght you may still be under warrany, if so you may want to take it in and have it checked out, as there the keyboard/screen issues along with the no wake on battery, it may be related to a battery problem?

Screen backlight and keyboard backlight not working

Yesterday I turned on my old but proud PowerBook17" and the *screen was black*, but you could barely see everything. *Also keyboard backlight is not working.*
I read many many forums and all say that black screen caused by inverter failure, but in my case keyboard lighting is also dead, so I wonder *if this is something different* and not the inverter.
I would appreciate any advises or ideas cause I love this machine..

Same problem here. I initially thought the auto-brightness problem had been fixed in 10.7.3, but sadly it hasn't. The auto-brightness works when the Mac starts, but I find it loses control and fails after wake from sleep.
I have telephoned AppleCare several times but they are not aware of this bug. They think a PRAM reset cures it, but it doesn't. As soon as the machine goes to sleep then auto-brightness fails on wake.
I have used the Apple Form to report the bug. It might eventually get fixed if others would kindly report it as well please. Here is the link:

Screen Sharing and Keyboard Commands

Wow! I just discovered screen sharing on Leopard! I knew I could share across Ichat but didn't realise you could share on your own home network. It works brilliantly but i have a question.
How do you use keyboard commands whilst sharing?
For example I want to use quicksilver on the computer I'm controlling from my laptop of course quicksilver becomes active on laptop not the machine I'm controlling.
In other words how do i direct all keyboard entry to the other machine?

but taking a more accurate look to the posts I find the response: in the "Account", at the login option, is avaiable "Show keyboard menu at login" (something similar, my OS is in Italian).

Screen flickering and keyboard freezing problem

Hello and happy NY to all of you!
Recently I updated my arch and after I log on today I have problems with keyboard. The icon which represents some multimedial function (rewind or something)
appears on random basis and flickers like if I was pressing that key on keyboard. The "desktlet" which appears is the "prohibited" sign which appears and blocks
my keyboard. This happens randomly and continues even after reboot and removing Clementine which constanly turns on and off and changes songs on it's own,
obviously something is happening with those keys (rew or fwd) functions. I tried updating my whole system again, with no success: if it is bug, I won't be able
to use my system until the next update roll? What to do?
My DE is cinnamon.

I just did pacman -Syu > rebooted > now keyboard and mouse no longer work.
Also there a strange looking flash of video just when kde4 is starting up.

What kind of noise?
The only things I can think of that make noise are fans and disks. Fans usually will not cause the computer to shutdown as you describe. My guess is your disk drive died. I hope you made a backup prior to start the ungrade.

Macbook pro screen and keyboard light turns off

Hello everyone,
I have an issue with my macbook pro, if im sitting at a table and i glide my laptop slightly my screen and keyboard light goes off and i cant see anything.
I have to turn it left or right to try and get it back on.....same thing if i close my computer and reopen it again it wont wake up from sleep mode.
anyone else having a similer issue? is this software related?

That seems like a loose or failing cable.
You could try a SMC reset: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964 to elimate the controller.

You could try running the Apple HArdware Test, not always definitive however. If it shows an error code report back.

Share Magic Mouse, Screen and Keyboard between two Macs

Hi folks,
I'm considering buying a Magic Mouse for my work/studio-setup, mostly because of the way the touch and gesture features are implemented in Logic Pro X. Until now, I have used a Mac Pro directly connected to one DVI-display as well as a MBP. Both computers are also connected to a KVM-Switch sharing a second DVI-display and a wired Logitech Mouse and wired Apple Keyboard. I always liked this setup because I can switch between mouse and keyboard for the computers and the screen they share with the single click of a button on the KVM's remote control.
Is there any way that is as simple to control as this that I could set this up using a Magic Mouse while making sure that I can still use all Apple-specific gesture and touch functionality? From what I have read some people are using Bluetooth-Dongles on their KVMs USB-Ports, other use Software like Synergy or ShareMouse. But all of these solutions seem to make the setup more complex or seem to make some of the functionality I would buy the Magic Mouse for unusable. Instead of having to install some additional software on my machines that runs in the background all the time and is prone to compatibility issues etc., I would prefer a solution that is based on hardware and uses just Mac OS system features. Also, a solution that takes more then a couple of seconds to switch everything (KVM) between systems is not of practical use for my workflow. I would very much appreciate any hints or experience on this topic that you can share.

Automatic does not work for me on this particular task. . My primary computer is an iMac. On travel I use a MacbookPro. I want the MacbookPro to have the same Contacts list as the iMac. I am logged into iCloud on both computers. The MacbookPro needs to be syced. On it I logged out of icloud, and in doing so I chose to delete files from the computer. Then I logged in again to icloud. That put a lot of additional lists of groups into the Contacts, lists that are not on the iMac. But some individual pages are not updated to match the iMac.
I tried to manually copy (and overwrite) the various files on the MacbookPro that seemed to deal with the Contacts, including
my Library/Applicatiion Support/AddressBook
my Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist
They are still not the same.
On my Macbook I unchecked the Contacts, which deleted them and checked them again. This now deleted all of my groups and the individual ones are not synced with the iMac.
So now I have had three different versions of Contacts on the Macbook, as I manipulated turning on and off iCloud, and not one of them has been the same as on iMac.
How do I get the Macbook contacts to be the same as on iMac?

G4 just replaced power supply , it powers up , but the screen is not on and the mouse and keyboard aren't on either. A few times the computer came on with screen working but then it froze up, can't do any type of reset cause of keyboard not working. Help!

Should I check the memory cards themselves? Reseat them?

Memtest X or Rember to test the RAM.
Reseat is also good.
The iPhone 4 doesn't like USB 1.1 much.
after the update the computer was working well, except for this freeze when ever I connect iPhone.
I'd try USB 2.0 PCI. That's how I connect my iPhone 4s, and have connected all iPhones and iPods, to my G4.
Never an issue.
Can't say the same for USB 1.1.......

The NEC chipset is the desired chipset, regardless of what OS the maker says is compatible.
OS X has native NEC chipset USB support.

External Mouse and Keyboard Stop Working When X220 is Docked and Screen is Closed

I have an X220 with a docking station, external monitor and external keyboard/mouse. When I start the laptop from a cold boot and it's docked, my external mouse and keyboard work fine with the screen open or closed.
If I undock and redock with the screen closed, the external keyboard doesn't work and the mouse cursor moves, but the mouse buttons don't do anything. If I open the screen, then the keyboard and mouse work fine.
I've swapped the keyboard and mouse and still have the same problem, so it's not the kb/mouse. This is a brand new X220 and the issue has been occurring since it was purchased.
Any thoughts?

hard to say what's going on, though i would recommend heading to http://support.lenovo.com , do a full update of your unit.
also, if the external keyboard & mouse & monitotor is connected to your unit without the docking station, does the same thing happen?

1 server, 4 screens and keyboards, is that possible?

Hi all.
Is it possible to have in the same room 1 server and 4 screens and keyboards wireless connected to this server? when I say 4 screens I mean only that, a screen with a keyboard and mouse without any more computers. So 4 people using the same computer at the same time...

Hello Biopolako and welcome to the Apple Boards.
The short answer is no.
Servers are designed to provide services to many users simultaneously but not an actual user space for more than one user at a time.
If each user has their own computer they can all share data stored on the server between their desktops or they could have network home directories and they could all store their working files and systems on the server but they can't use the operating system of the computer itself.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.
If no fix, Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.
