Screen center screwed up.

Hi, I'm trying to use full screen flash, and place my
movieclips with actionscript.
It's screwing up the screen center for some reason though,
and I can't seem to figure out why...
Here's the screwed up site:
http://www.combinecreative.com/test/mover.html
Here's the code that's on a movable MC:
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
_x += (_root.logox - _x)/3;
_y += (_root.logoy - _y)/3;
Here's the code I'm using on the main timeline to move the
MC's:
_root.logox = Stage.width / 2;
_root.logoy = Stage.height / 2 - 200;
It seems pretty straight foward, but for some reason it's
offsetting my screen center...
Any ideas would be great! pretty please...
http://www.combinecreative.com/test/mover.html

well what you are doing is placing the clips upper left point
at the center, what you want to do is placing the clips center at
the center so make it:
_root.logox = Stage.width / 2 - logowidth;

  • Blue line down screen center

    So I'm sitting on my computer at the kitchen table, and my T60 suddenly develops a thin blue line down the center of the screen. At first it only sporadically appears, but now it hasn't gone away for a couple days. The thin blue line is right smack down the center - it doesn't really show up when you're working with something a white background like Microsoft Word, it only shows up on a colored background like pictures, video, etc. Any idea what the problem is here and how I can fix it?
    My laptop is still under warranty and isn't that old and I take good care of it so I don't expect that the screen is seriously messed up. I'm hoping I just need to reset something.
    Also, lately (last month or two?) my laptop has been getting a bit hotter than usual, especially when it's working a little harder, like if I play a video etc. The fan can get quite loud. Would this be at all related?

    It is most likely a connection or cable problem. Do you have an external monitor that you can check this problem on? To see whether the same appears on the external monitor, if that is the case, then your GPU is probably the culprit.
    Your laptop is running hot, probably due to dusts clogging your heat exhaust, so you would need to take off your keyboard and palmrest, and give a good clean with some compressed air.

  • Ipod Nano screen is screwed up

    Hi, i hope someone can help me. I turned on my ipod and my screen is all screwed up its like a black hole with like crack lines and i can't seem to get in back to normal. What can i do and what would have caused this?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
    This is sometimes caused by the iPod nano being pushed on, dropped, squished, sat on, etc. If this is the case, Apple will not repair the iPod nano without charging you. You would have to replace it yourself or have a service like this do it...

    This seems like the iPod was "abused."

  • Dual Screen Setup Screws Up Default Firefox Window Size

    Unfortunately it's impossible to reply to this thread: [https://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?comments_parentId=365472&forumId=1]
    although the problem described there isn't solved at all.
    Quote from the OP:
    ''"Firefox is only checking the resolution of the primary monitor when it is opened or when a new window is opened. This is not an issue if both monitors are the same resolution or if the primary monitor is set to a higher resolution than the secondary monitor. But, as in my case, if the primary monitor is set to a lower resolution than the secondary monitor, Firefox will resize any new window that is larger than the resolution of the primary monitor down to size of the primary monitor."''
    Personally, I have been using MSIE 6.0 until it became unusable since any major site stopped supporting it. Now, instead of upgrading to 7.x or 8.x, I chose to install Firefox ... and the first thing that this "state of the art browser" is giving to me as a welcome present is the insight, that it is even too dumb to remember its actual default window size!
    Although stored correctly in ''localstore.rdf'' (height="1170") this friggin bastard resizes to 994px height on every startup and refuses to accept the fact that the screen it opens on has a height of 1200px. Something the good old MSIE didn't have any problems with to recognize!
    Conclusion of > 1 hour online research: no solution available.
    Well done, Mozilla, brilliant job :\

    The only solution (well, it's not really a solution, it's a miserable workaround) was to exchange the assingment of the primary and the scondary display, including all the negative side effects you can imagine.
    Hopefully Firefox will gain a higher grade of intelligence one day.

  • My screen's screwed what do i do

    I've had my iPod now for about five months (fifth generation) and almost since the start it has had what i'm sure is a faulty screen. Beneath the surface there are countless what looks like completely dead pixels. They appear shiny and do not change when watching a video or viewing a photo. I have never dropped my iPod and have constantly kept it in the provided case. The iPod repair service site says that the warranty does not cover cracked screens but mine is not cracked. The fact that the screen is also pretty scratched might not help my case, although as i have said I have used the provided case constantly. Do i have grounds for free replacement??

    You probably should have had it serviced/replaced when you first noticed the problem. The 90 day full warranty is over, but you should still be covered under the one year limited. You should probably visit an Apple Store and explain your iPod's defect. See the Service FAQ for more.

  • Is my ipod covered by warranty? if the screen has screwed up

    i have a great big line going through my ipod please help if u know wat is wrong with ti or if it is still covered under warranty i ahve only had it 4 about b2 months

    1. You shouldn't just keep any iPod you find. You should turn it in to the local police department.
    2. If it's been run over by a van, there's probably not much you can do with it. Apple definitely won't cover it. You can try a place like iPodResQ, but it might not be worth it. It's $105 to replace the screen, and after being run over by a van I'd be surprised if there was no other damage.

  • How to make a Quicktime 7 video open in the center of the screen. Answered!

    I open a Quicktime video and then noticed that the video didn't open in the top left top corner of the screen, like they usually do. So I placed the video in the center of the screen and did a SAVE, then closed the video. When I the video opened again it open to where I placed the video, the center. Then I placed the video on my second screen, center. Did a save and then close the video. When I reopened the video it open on the second screen centered....................! I don't know if this happens because of my OS (10.5.8) or Quicktime 7.6.4. But it works!!! People have been asking for years how to open a Quicktime video in the center of the screen. But there hasn't been an answer or a fix on how to do this, until now...! If you do a SAVE AS you can't over write the video you need to rename the video.
    Footnote: If you do a SAVE to Quicktime video. The video will lose the FAST START feature. If you need the fast start feature you need to do a SAVE AS. SAVE AS places the fast start feature back into the video. Fast start is used for videos that are posted on the internet.

  • E2 touch screen problems

    My E2 has not been on for awhile and my touch screen is screwed up, selection is not where it should be.  I have reset and gone to the calibration area, when I select the "tap exactly on the center of the target" bottom left, top right, then center.  it will continue to do this and will not end. stuck in a loop?
    Help.

    Sometimes it appears like this for a while, continuing to calibrate MAY get you out, though not likely. But, most likely, your touchscreen (AKA digitizer) is worn out. Try a getting a replacement or buy a another device.

  • Display/screen not working

    Hi, I'm having an issue with the screen on my laptop.  Last night I closed the cover while the laptop was on, and opened it a few minutes later and the screen was white.  I don't have the computer set to do anything upon closing it.  I rebooted and a white (backlit) screen appeared,then after a minute it went black.  It looked like the computer was booting up and I plugged in an eternal monitor and sure enough, it was.  (I'm working from it now.) So the hard drive, etc, is fine.  But the screen won't turn on.
    I saw suggestions for removing the power cord and battery, holding the power switch for half a minute, then putting it back together and rebooting and this did nothing for me.  I've not updated Windows (XP) for a few weeks, and I've not updated the video driver in quite a while.  The video card is working fine with the external monitor.
    The device manager shows 3 identical default standard monitors (I only have the laptop screen and the external, so I'm not sure what's going on there).  It says all are working properly.
    I'm thinking that the screen either disconnected somehow, or that the on/off switch associated with opening/closing the screen somehow screwed up, but have no idea how to check either.
    I'd love to hear any suggestions.
    (Oh, and this went out of warranty a long time ago.)

    have a look whether your laptop is eligible for the post warranty warranty, if it is then you should get it and repair this laptop under warranty.

  • Full Screen Videos in iTunes Don't Work in Leopard

    Hi,
    I've upgraded my MacBook Pro from Tiger to Leopard and I do have a registered Quicktime Pro 7 license. The QuickTime tab shows me that it's a Pro version. However, if I am trying to play full screen videos in iTunes I just see the mini video in the screen center. Any idea how I can fix this?

    I have recently relocated to Australia & have since updated my itunes account with an Australain address.
    The issue is your credit or debit card. They must be associated with the same country in which you reside.
    "Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store. You can use the iTunes Store in all countries of which you’re a resident, but you’ll either need a separate iTunes Store account for each one, or you’ll need to continually be switching your billing information on your single account. Generally, it’s simpler just to set up an alternative account for these situations."

  • How to center an Image exported as EPS?

    Hello,
    Does anyone know how a good way to center an image on the page when exporting as EPS via a javascript from AI CS3?
    Here's the workflow:
    Open native AI File with multiple layers
    Make only the layer being exported visible
    Export the layer as EPS using export parameters
    Repeat until all layers are exported
    As it stands now, each image is exported as it was placed on the original AI file. I would like to center the image on the page before exporting.
    Best,
    Don

    Hi Sneedbreedley, welcome back to the forums.
    To center elements, you need just 3 things:
    valid document type (DW does this for you when you create a new page).
    declared width in pixels, ems or %.
    margin-left and margin-right of auto (browser default).
    To center paragraphs, headings, etc... use text-align:center property.
    CSS:
    body {
    width: 980px;
    margin:0 auto; /**this is centered on screen**/
    .center {text-align:center}
    HTML
    <!doctype html>
    <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    </head>
    <body>
    <h1 class="center">This heading is centered</h1>
    <h2>This heading is not centered</h2>
    <p class="center">Insert image here</p>
    </body>
    </html

  • HELP! Vertical Lines and Can't Use Half of My Screen. What is Wrong???

    Ok, this is really frustrating. Please read first.
    I did not spill anything or drop my MacBook. A week ago, it was fine. And then I picked it up and opened it to check something, and my screen was SCREWED. Nearly half of the screen is filled with colorful, vertical lines. Between the lines is filled in with white. I can't see anything underneath and makes it so difficult to use my MacBook.
    I don't know what is wrong. I called some places and some say it might be the video card, while a few say it may be the screen. I'm thinking of going to Best Buy since it's closer just to see what is up.
    I purchased my MacBook in 09 and never had a problem. The warranty is gone. If it is internal, there is no way I'm paying/can afford $700+ and I'll have to downgrade for a PC I just don't understand what went wrong... can anyone help me save my Mac?? Does it sound internal or a screen issue?
    I also took a pic with my phone of my Mac when it's on screensaver mode if that helps...
    http://tinypic.com/r/246qhwy/7
    Help please? Thanks in advance!!
    PS: Here are my details:
    13" MacBook OSX, MacBook5,2, 2.13 GHz, 2GB Memory, Version 10.6.6, Build 10J567

    Hi HayItsRenee & welcome to the forum.
    I'm sorry to hear about your troubles
    Here are a few possibilities:
    1) The display itself is bad.
    2) The inverter cable is bad.
    3) The video card is failing.
    Do you have your install discs? If so, try booting up from your install disc to see if the same issue shows up. If you have the adapter that will allow you to connect your MacBook to an external display, you could try that as another troubleshooting step.
