Screen has scratches- how to get replaced?

I was out golfing with some buddies and I put my phone in the cart, but when my friend went to drive, the phone fell out and hit the gravel cart path. It's still under the 1 year warranty.  Will Apple fix it for free or will it be $199?

Of course they will not fix it for free.
Are scratches on your tv covered by warranty?
Computer?
Car?
Anything?
You would have to pay.

hi my iPad air screen has broken how much you guys charge

Apple's Limited Warranty http://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/ for iPad excludes coverage for damage resulting from accident, disassembly, unauthorized service and unauthorized modifications.
The warranty will apply to the country of purchase. And if there is a problem needing repair you have to return it to the country of purchase.
    Out-of-Warranty Service
If you own an iPad that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will replace (Apple doesn't repair) your iPad with an iPad that is new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below. (The replacement will most likely be a refurbished iPad in a brown box, however, it has a new screen, back and battery.)
    iPad model
    Out-of-Warranty Service Fee
    iPad mini
    $219
    iPad 3rd, 4th, Air
    $299
    iPad 2, iPad
    $249
A $6.95 shipping fee will be added if service is arranged through Apple and requires shipping. All fees are in US dollars and are subject to local tax.
Certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications. However, an iPad that has failed due to contact with liquid may be eligible for out-of-warranty service. See http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipad

  • Macbook Coating on Screen has scratches

Hi there, so recently, I kept seeing this annoying smudge in the top right of my Macbook screen which didnt seem to want to come off with my finger. I finally decided to clean my screen and I tried using my finger nail to scratch off the smudged area as it wasnt smooth like the rest of the screen. So I think I've made it worse because its definitely more noticeable as it actually looks like the coating on the screen is scratched and a lighter shade than the rest of my still intact screen...It's now obviously bugging me even more. What can I do to fix this at home (either a safe at home remedy...or some specialized product I can buy)...or should I just bring it into the Genius bar?
Anyone else had this issue and/or been able to fix it without paying an arm and a leg?
    Thanks!
ps. below is a picture of the 'scratches'

you need a new screen if you would like it fixed.

  • Scratch on screen - anybody know how to get rid of it?

    Hi,
I have a deep, but superficial scratch on my Macbook air glossy screen. The scratch is only in the film on top of the LCD display and the hardware underneath is not affected. Does any one know of a polish I could use to get rid of the scratch? I worry about applying abrasive to the film as I fear it may make the problem worse. Anybody know what to do?
    Thanks!

If the scratch is deep, I would leave it be, as most cleaners/polishes won't remove deep scratches. Doing anything could make it worse, leaving it be is the _best option_. If it bugs you too much, you can spring the $200 to replace the screen yourself.

  • How to get replacement media. Bizarre Leopard Superdrive issue

    Hi,
    When I try to install Leopard from the original disk, I get a failed to install message. I am not sure of the exact message but it is something like;
Cannot install because there isn't any software to install. This happens right at the beginning of the install after it checks the media.
I burned a copy of the Leopard disk with my PC onto DL+R and followed the same steps through the Leopard install and it worked.
Thinking I made a mistake, I formatted and tried to install again from the original but ran into the same problem.
HMM okay. This is telling me there is a problem with my superdrive reading the original media. But here is the weird part. If I put my mini in TARGET disk mode and connect it to another MAC, I can install Leopard from the original disk onto another MAC using the my MINI as a DVD drive.
I find this ultimately confusing because if my superdrive can't read the media well enough to install it onto the same mac the superdrive is attached to, then it should fail when installing it onto the other mac.
Any ideas? Is there a special number to call that deals with replacement media?
    Thanks

    ntloser,
OK, so you have bad media. Can you see any scratches on the surface of the disk? Has this disk ever worked in your Mini's Superdrive?
If the media is bad, Apple should replace it. My recommendation would be to call support again, and perhaps have your case elevated to the next level of support. If the media is bad, Apple needs to stand behind it free of charge. Be polite, but firm.
That said, you may get better results by going to an Apple store in person. If this is feasible for you, do it.
Keep in mind that the Superdrive in your Mini packs a whole lot of function into a small, slot-loading form factor. The Superdrives in all Apple portables, and this includes the Mini, are incredibly miniaturized, and there is a trade-off for this miniaturization. Speed is one trade-off, but error correction and tolerance is another. Your Superdrive is not faulty, but rather less tolerant of damaged or faulty media than other drives might be.
Apple hardware is covered under warranty for one year, without Applecare. This includes 90 days of free phone support. In cases where warranty coverage is needed, the normal charge for phone support beyond the first 90 days is waived; they may still collect a CC number, but the card is never charged. In cases where no repair is needed, however (user error or lack of knowledge, etc.), you have to pay for "computer support."
I don't know off the top of my head the terms of coverage for software and related media (meaning your Leopard Install disk). However, I do know that it will be completely unrelated to the warranty coverage for your Mini. If the mini came with Leopard, this would be an entirely different story, but as it is you cannot consider them one and the same.
It might be important for you to determine whether the media is faulty, or if it is damaged in any way (scratches, etc.). How long have you had the disk? Did you purchase it new, or secondhand? If you purchased this disk new, and it has no apparent physical damage, then it is likely faulty. As I said before, stand firm on this issue. If, however, the media appears to be damaged in any way, you might consider yourself lucky to get a replacement from Apple for the cost of shipping and handling, if that's what they are offering.

  • Added new line and want to exchange phone...how to get replacement

We added a third line to our family plan. I chose a phone that my MIL did not care for so we followed instructions provided in the package and sent it back. Now I need to get a replacement and have no idea how. Every time I call customer service I can't get a straight answer. We tried to exchange the phone in a store but they wouldn't do that. I am paying for a third line with no phone to use. Anyone know how I can order a replacement phone? My account info online still shows the original phone with the eligibility to upgrade in two years.
    Thanks.

It appears then, that the original phone is still "activated" on that line - has your account been credited with the price of the phone? Do you have another Verizon phone (a used one of yours perhaps?) you could activate on that line temporarily?
If you have a tracking number, be sure the returned phone was received and credited - then you should be able to purchase another to replace it. You can always purchase from ebay, or use a friends' phone or one of your old ones on the line....

  • Implemented BADI to add custom screen to VD02 - how to get data to fields?

    hi..
i have implemented CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA and CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA_CS to add a new screen to Customer Master maintenance tcodes.
When I run VD02 (for example), I get my button and when I click it, my new screen with new fields show up.
I need to be able to select from a custom table based on the current KUNNR and populate those fields with data for the user.
I created the custom screen using a Module Pool program - so this does give me PBO/PAI but I don't have access at that point to my S_KNA1 & other structure info that is contained in the BADI which I need.
How do I pass data to those fields?
    thanks in advance.
    rp.

At the point you are clicking 'your' button you could export the structures containing the needed data to abap memory. once in your new screen pbo you may import from abap memory.
do make sure that your development is hit only for the document type and other usage parameters by putting enough filters before the screen call- else this can slow down quite a few things in SD.

  • Lock screen has lost notification icons and replaced with "verizon wireless"

Is there a way to get rid of the "verizon wireless" name on my notification bar when the phone is in lock screen? This changed after the lollipop update. This forces you to unlock screen to see what notifications are pending. I don't need to see that I have verizon wireless. I know my provider.

lol, I agree...a very unnecessary change, seeing how VZW brands the phone enough.

  • I tried to sign in for icloud set up with my apple id, i received a message that your account limit has reached, how to get icloud access then?

i tried to sign in for icloud set up for the first time with my apple ID, But unable to get through as i receive a message saying your account limit is reached, then how to proceed.

I can't say why it should be doing this. If it persists then your only options are to set it up on another Mac or iOS device if you can (then you will be able to sign into it), or failing that to contact Support - though I don't know how helpful they are likely to be.
To contact  iCloud Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee.
