Hi,
Try going to System Preferences > Displays and select another resolution than your actual one. Afterwards, go back to your desired resolution. If the problem still isn't fixed, you should call Apple Customer Service (1-800-MY-APPLE) or go directely in an Apple Store. If they think the problem is from Lion, they'll replace your Mac immediately and transfer all your data for free.

The problem appears sporadically and isn't consistent. Tried your solution countless times and no real improvement has shown. So I'll doubt they will exchange my 2 year old mac for a new mint one.
@a brody;
Do you mean the software that is on the Mac OS X SnowLeopard install disc? Is it possible to get hold of that one without the disc?

I have been having issues with my computer lagging after installing lion. Can anyone please help me get the issue resolved? I need it in easy to follow language.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Full screen mode in Mountain Lion

    Hello everybody!
I am experiencing certain problems with full screen mode in mountain lion 10.8.2 freshly installed (not upgraded over Lion or ML 10.8.x) on Macbook Pro 13 mid 2010 model. Whenever i open an application which supports full screen mode, it opens on my desktop so I have to enter into full screen mode. When I quit the application and reopen it, it again opens on my desktop then I have to again enter into full screen mode. What I want is that all apps open in full screen mode if they support like, calendar, mail, safari, notes, reeder, itunes, app store and so on.
What could be the problem that is preventing my apps to start automatically in full screen mode?
I would appreciate any kind of help from anyone of you.
    Thanks.

Go to System Preferences > General and untick Close windows when quitting an application

  • Screen lags with catalyst and kernel linux-3.10.6-2

so I have been using arch for about a month now and it has been working fine. But since I installed linux-3.10.7-1 my screen started lagging.
when moving windows around the screen lags and when scrolling down in thunar it lags very much.
And I can't configure my monitors anymore in catalyst control center. same thing with the latest kernel: linux-3.10.9-1
so I downgraded to linux-3.10.6-2 for now and everything works fine.
    catalyst version is catalyst 13.4-15, catalyst-utils 13.4-3
    xorg version is xorg-server 1.13.4-1
I'm using openbox btw version = openbox 3.5.2-1
GPU = AMD Radeon HD 7850
Any idea what might cause this ?

Is the fglrx module loaded at all?
And what's the output of 'fglrxinfo'?
Most likely the fglrx module is incompatible with the recent kernel version.
A simple solution for this problem is using catalyst-hook.
THIS. You should do this because the kernel module in the catalyst package itself is compiled against the kernel Vi0L0 has on his/her system and there is no way to compile one for later kernels without installing the package Radioactiveman suggested.

  • Lion Screen Sharing with Full Screen apps on Remote Lion

Has anyone figured out how to EASILY work with multiple desktops and full screen apps on the remote mac when Screen Sharing with one Lion mac from another?  All of the standard methods of switching between desktops and full screen apps (swipe, cmd + <arrow>, etc) all take place on the the local Mac, and not the remote one.
The only real effective methods I have found so far are using the dock (not elegant with full screen apps), and removing an app from full screen.  Either way, these methods are clumsy and do not compliment the new features that Lion provides.

You're not going to believe this.
Problem was on my buddy's end.  The  slash key "/" was stuck down on her keyboard.
Sometimes the solution is so far out of normal troubleshooting, you're luck if you ever find it...

  • Screen sharing in Mountain Lion

The apple creen sharing app is no longer working in Mountain Lion. How can i now screen share remotly to nother mac without physically being at that computer to accept it (hence why i cant use iChat)?

I found the problem. I was using an old version of Screen Sharing either from lion or snow leopard which doesnt work on Mountain Lion, you either type vnc://***.***.***.*** in Connect to Server in finder and it will automatically open screen sharing, or you can find the new screen sharing app in System/Libraby/CoreServices.

  • Screen lag or stuttering

I am currently experiencing screen lag or slight stuttering when scrolling up or down a page.
It is getting a bit annoying now, any suggestions on how to cure it.

Try a different wall charger. I was having a similar situation where the phone wouldn't respond to my touch while plugged in when I was using a different transformer plug with my original usb cable. It wasn't until I found my original transformer plug. I never saw the issue with the car charger or an I-Go wall charger.

  • Screen lag when plugged for power- since new updates came out..

I am having some issues with screen lag-locked up screen- not moving screen, since last updates. If I pull out the power plug, it works good , screen moves fast. does anyone have same issue or solution for this issue???
    CAN someone help?

  • Downloaded iOS 7, Enter passcode screen lag

on iphone 5, just downloaded iOS7.  When I start up the phone the enter passcode screen works fine.  Every time afterwards when i unlock the enter passcode screen lags up to 10 seconds.  Thoughts or fixes?

I would try 3 things in this order:
Restart the phone, reset the phone, then reset all settings
    Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
And to reset all your settings, use this article.

  • With Lion I had four home screens and with mountain Lion only one

With Lion I had four home screens but with Mountain Lion I got only one ?

    What's a "Home screen?"
If you mean Desktops, enter mission control and hover your mouse over the side of the display, in the row with the desktops. A + tab should appear. Click on it to add Desktops.

  • Mountain Lion freezes, full screen lagging, and makes the Macbook HOT!!

    hello everyones,
have you guys experience this before after installing Mountain Lion OSX?
I'm quite dissapointed my machine feels hot and I thingk if i put an egg it will cook.
I already dim the brightness.safari problem, mail problem,
    chrome crash and not smooth.
    how to solve these problems?

Man, do you have Sophos antivirus? If that so, you need to uninstall it the right way:
For Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X version 7.x , go to Macintosh HD|Library|Sophos Anti-Virus.
    Select 'Remove Sophos Anti-Virus.pkg'.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
NOTE, if you are running Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X version 4.x, the path in step 1 is Macintosh HD|Library|Application Support|Sophos Anti-Virus.
It seems that Sophos antivirus is crashing ML. They have an update but I'll wait some time becuase I've really had a painful time these days.

After entering my pw at the login screen, I get a black screen
This started after battery got fully drained accidentally.
It has happened in the past after battery gets fully drained accidentally, and I have to reboot several times until it boots properly.
This time I tried rebooting several times but it never booted properly
Tried booting into Safe Mode, by restart Mac while holding down theShift key past the chime, until I saw the Apple logo and spinning gear. I did NOT see the spinning gear change into a solid progress bar. I also did NOT see OS X login window with the words “Safe boot” in bright red.
I Tried booting Mac’s recovery system, by restarting Mac and holding down Command + R during boot. I ran Disk Utility and theVerify Disk option  did NOT find any errors. Interestingly only 16 mb was found to be available on the 250 GB disk. Note: I have filevault2 encryption enabled

    I would highly appreciate it.

Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.
