script alert('Helo test'); /script

Names are Ok. I believe it has something to do with the way my computer is handling my memory. If I only slect 15-20 files it seems to work fine (though a lot slower than before). If I slect 200 files it stops after processing 20 or so files? In the past I never had this problem before. I have also checked my hard drives and have plenty of space left.

• Manually Triggering Alerts For test..!!

Hi Guys,
I am trying to configure alerts and I want to test my alert without using any message. I found a note that says the code RSALERTTEST can be used to manually trigger an alert. But when i try to do the same from the SAP GUI, it says code not found.
I need to know how to trigger an alert from a SAP GUI itself.
I am running on SP14.
Thanks,
Bhavesh

Hi,
Various reports are there like:
RSALERTPROC - This is for escalation.
RSALERTDISP - displaying alerts and associated data on the central server(try this as a test).
RSALERTTEST- This you have already tried.

• I can't seem to change my alert for test tones. No matter which alert tone I set, it always defaults to "glass." Thanks

I am unable to change my alert tone for Text Tones or Voicemail. No matter which tone I select, the phone defaults to "glass." any help will be appreciated.

Thanks both of you.
Looks like I didn't have a problem after all. I had naively assumed that moving the volume control in the menu bar would play the selected alert sound (just as it used to do in OS9 and 10.1.5), but obviously this is not the case. Like you, I do indeed get the correct sound if I get a genuine alert.

• DW Not calling script unless I put it in Template

Hi all,
I'm trying to call a function (javascript) that needs to be
placed within the
tags of my page. The page is based
off my main template, which contains a few basic javascript
functions used throughout the site.
Please take a look at my code. I believe I have placed the
script (validateAddToCart) in the correct position, in the
"Editable" region of the
portion of the page. But when
I click the button that calls the script, it doesn't work (right
now I have it just displaying an alert for test purposes).
However, if I were to edit my main template and place this
function into the same area as the other common javascript
functions... it works. I am able to call it just fine. Of course I
don't want to do this, as the script is only going to be used from
this one page.
Does anyone see what the problem is? Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks!

Where is the script?

• Dbbackup shell script error

hi frnds
i need a help,i want to use a shell script to shutdown the database if the database is not shutdown properly using shutdown immediate.If shutdown immediate hangs it should check whther the database is up then call another script contains shutdown abort and startup and shutdown.
The problem is it is not go to the next line when the shutdown immediate hangs.I am giving my script how can i fix this
with regards
ramya
ORACLE_SID=CDRD; export ORACLE_SID
ALERT=/tmp/dbalert
dbstop.sh
sleep 300
ps -ef | grep ora_smon_$ORACLE_SID >$ALERT
if test -s $ALERT
then
dbabort.sh
sun7start.sh
sun7stop.sh
echo "Database Down"
else
echo "Database DOwn"
fi

I suppose that when you say "shutdown immediate hangs" you mean that it hangs indefinitely. Shutdown immediate could take a long time to complete for some reason (e.g. SMON has to clean up extents which are no longer needed and mark them as freed).
I don't know a way to exit from an (indefinitely) hanging process, unless you kill it from another session.
Maybe shutdown abort is not the most advisable way to go normally, but sometimes you can't avoid it, and personally I've never had problem with it (maybe I'm lucky :-)).

• Add script to newly created sprite

I've created a new sprite with imaging lingo - making a copy,
setting it to a member and then applying to a new sprite. Now I'd
like to apply a script from the cast to it. How can I do this?
Many thanks

Thanks for this I had something similar-ish based on
Director's documentation - all the right words but in a different
order.
When I try though, it still doesn't respond. (For the moment
the added script is just a simple mouseDown alert for testing.) Is
there something I'm asking it to do that isn't allowed? The script
'dynPieceScript' is just sitting in the cast.
Here's the code:
on createPiece me
-- iterate i that is method of naming sprites
i=i+1
-- set up ref point for new piece
origLoc=my.loc
-- make a copy of the play piece
stageImage=(the stage).image
spriteimage=stageImage.crop(my.rect)
pMember=_movie.newMember(#Bitmap)
-- name the member, set pMember to it's image,
-- find an available channel, assign it to a sprite in place
pMember.name="NewPiece"&&i
pMember.image=spriteImage
myChannelNum=_movie.lastChannel-i
myNewSprite=channel(myChannelNum).makeScriptedSprite(member(pMember.name),
origLoc)
-- myNewSprite.name=my.member.name&&i
myNewSprite.moveableSprite=TRUE
myNewSprite.scriptInstanceList.add(script
("dynPieceScript"))
end createPiece me
Everything else works the way I expect it to - the moveable
is fine etc. Any ideas?
One other thing, there's a commented out attempt to name the
newly created sprite but I get a No Access script error. Does that
mean I can't name a sprite created like this?
Many thanks

What do you mean by "not working"? Does that mean that your alert are not being fired? If so, can you find any errors in Workflow/DB log files?
Please run Oracle Alert Diagnostic test as per (R12.0.6+ : Oracle Alert Check Alert Setup Test [ID 471672.1]) and see if you get any error/warning messages.

• Failed Alert window when application loaded from SWFLoader

Screenshot:
Instead of a usual window which is normally displayed if child application to call directly
Screenshot:
The problem can be solved if i specify parent object for Alert call
<s:Button id="btnAlert" label="Alert" click="Alert.show('test mess', 'Title', Alert.OK, this)"/>
But it is not the desirable decision as the real child application very big.
Somebody worked with this sort of problems?
How it probably to solve?

Harbs,
Things are getting weird here...
This is a crop of the GUI in Halo:
and this is what the CS Extension Builder theme looks like:
There's no more the vertical separator *nor* the arrow in the combobox! Let alone that the plus button has gotten a crazy size.
Uhm... it seems like there's something wrong.
And by the way, no matter what theme I chose, my Design tab always shows the bluish GUI:
Being Halo, shouldn't it be gray? Why on earth it's grayish blue to me?!
I've had some random warnings, not specifically in this project, like:
"Design mode: Cannot load CSXSLibrary-2.0-sdk-3.4-public.swc (reason: ERROR: Load Verify). It may require classes (such as Adobe AIR components) that are not supported by design mode. Check the Eclipse error log for more details. main.mxml /01/src Unknown Problem"
I'm wondering whether FB has some troubles with the preferences...
Could someone please test whether the change in theme leads to these dramatic changes in appearance?
Is it correct that the default appearance is this (bluish) one?
Thanks,
Davide

• Alert Control Popup Message is blank

Hi,
I am using Alert control to display a popup message. For some reason message is blank and the label for Ok button is also blank. Popup does come up
with a blank button. If you click on button then it does go away as it should. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Hi JK2075,
The Alert should be Alert.show and not just Alert....and also import the namespace as well..
import mx.controls.Alert;
Alert.show("test","test");
Thanks,

• Conditionally opening a new browser window from a JSP page

When the user clicks on a button in my JSP page, I'd like to launch a new browser and display certain things in that browser window while leaving the original browser window open. The new browser should only be displayed if certain conditions are met.
My thought was to invoke a javascript method in 'onLoad' which would determine if the new window needs to be launched.
This is kinda what my page looks like:
<jsp:root version="1.2" ................>
<jsp:directive.page import="java.util.*, com.test.Configuration" contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8"/>
<f:view>
<ui:body binding="#{Page1.body1}" id="body1" onLoad="launchWindow();">
</ui:body>
</f:view>

</jsp:root>
My problem is that the call to "Configuration.openWindow()" does not resolve correctly. If I remove that call and simply make a call to "window.open()" all works. But once I put the condition in, nothing happens. I do not see an exception in my browser window but a new browser window does not open.
Is my syntax correct. Can I make a call to the static method 'openWindow()' in my class 'Configuration.java'.
I posted this same query on the JSF forum but received now replies. My question is more suited to the JSP forum and hence I'm posting this question here.
thanks,
tsc

I have made some changes so that I do not directly access the 'Configuration' class in my javascript.
I have a hidden field on my form and when the user clicks the button, in my back bean, I set a value for the hidden field. In the javascript function 'launchWindow()' I check if a value has been set for the hidden field and if yes, I open a new window.
<ui:body binding="#{Page1.body1}" id="body1" onLoad="launchWindow(document.forms[0]);">
<h:inputText id="hiddenField" value="#{formBean.hiddenValue}" />
When my page is first loaded, the launchWindow() is called and all the alerts popup as expected.
When I click on the button (the back bean sets the value on the hidden field), my page is reloaded but this time its blank.
Any ideas as to why this maybe the case?
thanks,
tsc

• How can I read an XML string that's not from an XML file?

I've got a script I'm trying to setup that communicates over a socket to retrieve different directions from a custom built Java program. The Java program listens to requests from the Adobe scripting engine (in my case it's a Photoshop script) on a socket and immediately responds with the next set of directions. These directions are currently in XML format. The issue I'm having is that I can't parse the XML data since it's entered into a new XML object from a string rather than being read from a file. Even without the socket code, you can see the issue by doing the following:
var xml = new XML("<test><data>hey!</data></test>");
alert(xml.test.data);
alert(xml);
The first alert "should" return "hey!" (without quotes, of course), but it doesn't, while the second alert returns what you would expect it to:
<test>
<data>hey!</data>
</test>
It works fine if read from an XML file, but from a string, like shown above, it just presents an empty alert box when attempting to access "xml.test.data". Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Can it be fixed? Has it been fixed in newer versions (I'm currently using CS4)?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Duh... found my error... I was attempting to access the data by referencing the created "root" element. Since <test> is the very first element tag, it's setup as the root element, which you don't need to reference. Changing the alert to alert(xml.data); fixed it.
Now I just feel dumb, lol...

you will need to add ItemListener to the JRadioButtons

• CS3 Extension that initializes a JS-Object during startup is not working in CS4

Here is a simple Extension that works fine in DW CS3 and doesn't work in DW CS4 (trial version):
The File myObj_Startup.htm was placed in Folder Configuration/Startup. It initializes a quite simple Javascript-Object during Startup of DW.
Content of myObj_Startup.html:

beim Öffnen

Besides this, an additional menuitem was defined in menus.xml to use the JS-object myObj:
<menu mmstring:name="menus/DWMenu_File" id="DWMenu_File">
<menuitem name="Test" command="myObj.showMsg('Testing');" enabled="true" domRequired="false" id="DWMenu_File_SIEMENSTEST" />
<menuitem mmstring:name="menus/DWMenu_File_New" key="Cmd+N" command="dw.newDocument()" enabled="true" domRequired="false" id="DWMenu_File_New" />
With Dreamweaver CS3 everything works out fine: I get a Alert-message: "startup" during Startup and when I'm clicking Menu->File->Test I get a Alert-message: "Testing".
With Dreamweaver CS4 (trial version) I get a message: "startup" as well but when I'm clicking Menu->File->Test I get no message.
Instead I get a Logfile "C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\en_US\Configuration\Logs\DW JavaScript.log" telling me:
JS Error:
myObj is not defined
filename:
lineno: 0
While executing DWMenu_File_TEST command in menus.xml, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
ReferenceError: myObj is not defined
Why is this simple extension working in DW CS3 and not working in DW CS4?
Did they change the treatment of JS-objects initialized during startup?
Is the object out of scope?
Are such extensions not working in trial versions of DW CS4?
I cannot explain this behavior - please help!

Hi,
I have an similar problem and couldnt find an workaround for the problem.
When i add an new menu item to the menus.xml file, the menu item shows up, but my custom command (simple alert) wont trigger.
Can somebody please help?

• How to Access Custom Event using AS3?

Hi All,
Maybe it's that its Monday morning and my brain is still foggy, but I can't seem to figure out how to set custom events using AS3.
I have a custom GridRow itemRenderer, and have declared the event using the appropriate metatags.
Then I create the GR item dynamically using AS3 instantiation, but the event is not available for selection in the intellisense drop-down.
Let's take the following as an example:

<mx:Grid
xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
xmlns:renderers="com.brassworks.renderers.*"
creationComplete="componentInit();"
>
<mx:Script>

private function componentInit():void
newRow     :MyRow     = new MyRow();
//newRow.myEvent is not an available option to set

</mx:Script>
</mx:Grid>
Then the itemRenderer:

<GridRow
xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
xmlns:classes="com.brassworks.components.classes.*"
creationComplete="componentInit();"
>
<mx:Metadata>
[Event(name="myEvent", type="flash.events.Event")]
</mx:Metadata>
<mx:Script>

private function itemChanged(event:Event):void
Alert.show("test");
this.dispatchEvent(new Event("myEvent"));

</mx:Script>
<mx:GridItem>
<mx:TextInput
change="itemChanged"
/>
</mx:GridItem>
</GridRow>
How do I go about setting the handler method for custom events on instantiated items? Do I need to do this via the AddEventListener() method? Does this mean that events aren't exposed in ActionScript like they are in MXML? (In MXML all I have to do is <MyRow myEvent="handler(event)" />.)
Thanks!
-Mike

Yes, I you need to do this via the addEventListener() method.
myRow.addEventListener( "myEvent", myHandler );
I hope that helps.
