"Script failed (language is formcalc...)" - "Error: Argument mismatch..."

Hi there,
I temporarily switched from JavaScript to FormCalc just to see what functions were available. It didn't have what I was looking for, so I did not add any functions, I just browsed, then I switched back to JavaScript. However, now when I view my PDF I get the following error messages which were not there before:
Any help would be appreciated.

What do you do if you didnt create the form? and also people in other places, offices, can open it with no errors, but everyone in this office is getting errors?

ENAME & MGTXT are the fields which has to be displayed by default when the form is shown.
But when the Adobe form is displayed it comes without any Value for ENAME - Employee Name
MGTXT - Reason for Action Text .
Please provide me solution to over come this problem.

When i am executing my adobe form, i am getting the following error:
Script failed (language is formcalc;
script = var statusIcon = $record.Fi_Group_Data[0].Ovl_Status
Error: accessor '$record.Fi_Group_Data[0].Ovl_Status' is unknown.
I have used binding via coding. If i set it as javascript, then i am not receiving this error. But no values are coming.
If i set as formcalc, then i am getting this error, but values are coming correctly without colors. ( i need colors too)

Hello,
I'm very new to LiveCycle Designer, and I'm getting the error message: "Script failed (language is formcalc; context is xfa....Error:syntax error near token '(' on line 3 column 0.
I'm simply adding some numeric fields together. The calculation works fine but I want to get rid of this error message-any ideas?
Here is the code that I have in the Script Editor:
form1.Page2.TotalEnrollment::calculate - (FormCalc, client)
TotalEnrollment.rawValue = NumericField1.rawValue + NumericField2.rawValue
This doesn't make any sense-I don't even have a "(" in my syntax....

Hi,
With FormCalc you do not need .rawValue.
Also as the script is in the object that you want to set the value of, you can use $ instead of the object name.
Try:
$ = NumericField1 + NumericField2
Check that you don't have an error elsewhere, as I suspect that this may be the problem.

PCR SPEG not populating Form and giving FormCalc errors

First of all we are running on Enterprise Portal 7.0, Adobe Document
Services on SP10. We are running the ESS and MSS business packages with
the latest Support Package 7. We are also using the Adobe LiveCycle
Designer 7.1 Patch 3.
We are experiencing a Script Error when we attempt to create a
Personel Change Request through MSS. The Manager logs in, navigates to
create Personel Change Request, selects and Employee and selects Change
to Personel Group or Subgroup.
The System displays our Form, except that there isn't any data populated
and Adobe Reader displays a popup which reads:

To get to this point, we ran the report RSCLCCOP and did a copy of the
objects as described on Page 128 of the Business Package for Manager
Self-Service Documentation.
We then went into QISRSCENARIO set the notification to 56, and went to
generate the form ISR_FORM_SPEG. We selected generate form from SAP
Design, and then proceeded to click "Maintain in Logon Language" which
happens to be english.
I feel like I'm missing a step... any ideas?

The error - : no expression encountered -- script result is undefined, is simply because the script editor for the respective event doesnt conatain any active code.(all codes are commented).
For , data not getting displayed, you may check out the bindings for each field and the corresdponding layout for the respective form.
SFP transaction -> form name -> layout - to see the layout.
In layout, layout -> click on the respective adobe field -> object pallette -> binding.
check proper binding has been provided for each field from the context (data view pallette).
Do update, once you have solved your issue.

I actually had loaded a knowledge base (examples) and that was working fine, i was able to generate themes and gists also.
After that while loading a thesaurus, i was getting below error, (with ctxload command for loading thesarus)

"Argument mismatch in property or function argument" on nodes.length

Hi,
However I try to get the length on the nodes property, I always get this error:
"Argument mismatch in property or function argument"
It happens regardless of which level of the DOM/SOM I try at, even though I can resolve nodes, get values, etc.
An example that would throw the error:

What am I doing wrong?

Try the resolveNode on $record instead of $data.

I'm trying a simple click a radio button to select another radio button. I'm getting this error message:

Hi,
It depends on the bound values for the radio button exclusion group (see Object > Binding palette).
If the radio button exclusion group does not have a bound value of 0, then it would throw an error. If you are trying to clear the radio button exclusion group you set it a string value of zero length.

Oracle Open Script - Failed to open script error

I am receiving the following error when trying to open a script in Oracle open script
'Failed to open script' has encountered a problem.Failed to open <script_name>. See error log for details.
I have tried the Giri Mandalika's solution but there is no "<failing_script_name>" folder in specified path.
Can someone please help me to resolve this issue ?

Hi ,You can try deleting the osworkspace folder .The folder should be at C:\Users\<username>\. May be take a back up copy of the folder before deleting it.Let me know if it works.

Thanks, but most of the people in the industry are still using the same, and it is working on their Machine
As far as I remember 9.2.0.2 was never released, one needed to install at least 9.2.0.4 (or .5). That´s why the official installation guides tell you to install the latest patches PLUS the latest interim patches for the database.
On top of that, Oracle 9.2 is out of extended support already, I would get a new installation CD set with Oracle 10g and use that for a new installation.

Because those old database versions have many bugs that are fixed with patches - so why do you want to run such an old version if one KNOWS that it´s buggy and there are patches to fix those errors?

Powershell startup scripts fail on Windows 8.1 with error 267

GPO Powershell startup script fails to execute on Windows 8.1, but does run on Windows 8 and Windows 7. Powershell logon scripts run normally on all versions of Windows.
The event log contains entries with event ID 1130 from the GroupPolicy source. The log entries claim error 267 "directory name is invalid".
Running cmd.exe on Windows 8.1 under the computer's account (NT Authority\SYSTEM) confirms that the Powershell script's path in SYSVOL is valid and the script executes normally.
Running procmon on Windows 8.1 while the startup script is being run on a computer shows that the computer caches the files and folders for this GPO into C:\Windows\system32\GroupPolicy.
I am not sure why these scripts are failing to execute on Windows 8.1 when they run on Windows 8 and the same set of GPOs are applied to both Windows 8.1 and Windows 8 computers.

These are all good suggestions, but I have already tried to eliminate:
All environment variables
All network paths
Setup the GPO to reference the script by the file name and with a full absolute path. Neither worked.
Tried copying the scripts to multiple folders inside the policy, since the event log message reports only the root path of the policy.
I also used procmon to monitor how the computer handles the startup scripts. I found that the computer caches them into a folder under C:\Windows\System32, but never runs any of them. I never found an error that I could correlate with the event log.
For instance the following one line scripts failed to run:
'I AM HERE.' | sc -path C:\Windows\TEMP\TEST.txt
write-host 'I AM HERE.'
As far as I can see the first script relies on the existence of C:\Windows\TEMP and write permission to it, which SYSTEM should have.
The second one liner has no dependencies at all and it doesn't run with the same error.
I have created multiple GPOs and scripts, so if there was a problem in creating these files and folders it is happening over and over. I checked the permissions and computer accounts have read and execute permissions all throughout the GPOs.
Everything works perfectly on Windows 7 and 8, just not on 8.1.
