Scripts in \Resources\Enterprise Scripts\Oracle

Hello,
we plan to install BusinessObjects xi 3.1 Release 3 on Oracle. In the document "xir2_Oracle_Setup_Guide_for_BusinessObjects_Planning_11.20_en.pdf" i can find
"To create this account, execute the script CreateUsers.sql. A copy of this script can be
found on your BusinessObjects Planning product distribution, in the folder
\Resources\Enterprise Scripts\Oracle."
Unfortunately i can't find the underlying scripts CreateUsers.sql and CreateTableSpaces.sql.
Best regards
Lutz

I'm confused - you said you are planning to install BOE XI3.1 Sp3, yet you are using document for XIR2 Planning.
BOE does not need any special oracle scripts.
What exactly are you trying to install ?

  • Script to Stop and Start Oracle Meter Data Management

    Hi,
    This is my first post in Oracle forums so if i open this in the wrong thread please forgive me.
    I tried to create a windows batch script to stop and start Oracle Meter Data Management but i can´t.
    @echo off
    D:\spl\MDMDEV\bin\splenviron.cmd -e MDMDEV
    D:\spl\MDMDEV\bin\spl.cmd stop
    D:\spl\MDMDEV\bin\splenviron.cmd -e MDMDEV
    D:\spl\MDMDEV\bin\spl.cmd stop
    The batch exits in the first command and i can´t understand why.
    Another thing is if i use spl.cmd stop command it doesn´t do nothing, is this normal?
    Thanks in advanced for all replies.
    Best Regards.
    Nuno

    I had to put a call command in mine. I think it is because you are trying to run a .cmd file within your bat file. You're actually changing shells. Thats why you need the call.
    call d:\spl\mdmdev\bin\splenviron.cmd -e mdmdev
    call d:\spl\mdmdev\bin\spl.cmd start
    I actually set mine up to use variables so all I had to change from script to script was the environment...
    <snip>
    SET SPLENV=MDMDEV
    SET INSTALLDRIVE=D:
    SET INSTALLDIR=SPL
    SET BINDIR=%INSTALLDRIVE%\%INSTALLDIR%\%SPLENV%\bin
    %INSTALLDRIVE%
    cd %BINDIR%
    REM Set envornment
    call %BINDIR%\splenviron.cmd -e %SPLENV%
    REM Wait a few seconds for environment to setup
    ping localhost -n 5 > nul
    REM Start SPL Web
    call %BINDIR%\spl.cmd start
    </snip>
    I was unable to find a way to get this to run as a service. Have you?
    I'm currently running these scripts in the startup/shutdown script section of the local machine policy (gpedit.msc).

  • Scripted Gateway Resource Adapter - Help requested

    Hello all,
    Sun IDM 8.1.0.9 running on JBOSS 4.2 running on Redhat 5.0
    Gateway server is Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64)
    I'm trying to use the Scripted Gateway Resource Adapter. I can get it to execute Windows CMD files just fine but as soon as I ask the cmd file to run either powershell or even vbscript, it craps out. Return code is -65536 and Error text is just the letter 'W'.
    Enter: reply
    Enter: sendBuffer
    Sending buffer:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-16'?>
    <Response>
    <Result status='ok'>
    <ResultItem type='ACTION_RC'>
    <object class='String'>-65536</object>
    </ResultItem>
    <ResultItem type='ACTION_STDOUT'>
    <object class='String'></object>
    </ResultItem>
    <ResultItem type='ACTION_STDERR'>
    <object class='String'>W</object>
    </ResultItem>
    </Result>
    </Response>
    I know the Gateway.exe program is a 32-bit program and is quite particular about that and I have tried to take that into account when calling PoSH or VBScript.
    If anyone has had any experience with this adapter, any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Tim.

    OK so here's the scoop. Rather than upgrading the IDM to OW 8.1.1 (which will happen eventually, just not fast enough), I downgraded the Gateway server to Windows Server 2003 (x86). It all works. The answer that it required OW 8.1.1 for Server 2008 R2 was indirectly spot on.
    Marking this as answered.
    Thanks.

  • IPCC Enterprise Script Storage

    Hello,
    We have a Cisco IPCC Enterprise 7.5.7 and because of a replication problem we experiencing inbound script versioning.
    Now, we have in our system an old version and we want to restore it.
    Can anyone tell me where Enterprise scripts are stored and how I recover a particular version witch not appear in Script Editor?
    Thank you,
    Dan

    Can anyone tell me where Enterprise scripts are stored and how I recover a particular version witch not appear in Script Editor?
    Scripts are part of the configuration, like agents, call types etc. They are stored in the configuration tables on the logger - like Master_Script, Script, Script_Cross_Reference and Script_Data. They are replicated to the AWDB in the normal way configuration data is replicated.
    As the responder said, if you cannot see the version you want in Script Explorer and it has been flushed (permanently deleted), then you are out of luck.
    If you had exported the script as a .ICMS file and saved it somewhere - then you could reimport, and save as the latest version, assuming you can resolve the references. This is a bit of a long shot though - many customers don't do this.
    If your system has been set up to delete scripts automatically and save (say) only the last 5 versions (in System Information), then I would change that. Some integrators configure this - I prefer to save all scripts and clean up irrelevant scripts manually. Then nothing worthwhile is lost. Of course, this is closing the stable door after the nag has well and truly bolted - but still worthwhile.

    Geoff

  • How can I exit my UNIX script when my PLSQL script in it calls an error?

    hello.
    I hope someone can help with my error handling and exiting-in-the-right-place problem.
    I have several PLSQL scripts that are called from a UNIX script to insert/update employee records in ORACLE Financials.
    At the end of the UNIX script, depending on whether an entry has been created in the errors table should depend on whether the UNIX script stops or not. Trouble is, its stopping too early everytime even though the the record has been inserted correctly. Please can someone either advise on what I'm doing wrong or suggest an alternative..
    This the end of the PLSQL script that inserts the entry into errors table if theres an error..
    WHEN OTHERS    THEN       ROLLBACK;
          err_msg := SUBSTR (SQLERRM, 1, 350);
          insert into kpmg_error_check (concurrent_id,module,narrative,status,creation_date,created_by)
                                values(0,'TEMPLOYEE_DTLS.sql',err_msg,'ERROR',SYSDATE,'Feldman');
         commit; This is the end of the UNIX script that looks at the table..
    echo " "
    echo "**** `date +%H:%M:%S` - Checking if TEMPLOYEE_DTLS.sql ran OK"
    error_check=`sqlplus -s $user_id @$SU_TOP/sql/SUTEMPCHK.sql 1`
    if `echo $error_check` -ge 1
    then
    # Load failed
    echo " "
    echo "**** `date +%H:%M:%S` - TEMPLOYEE_DTLS has failed - check table KPMG_ERROR_CHECK for details.."
    exit 1
    else
    # Load finished OK, if input data file exists, move and rename it
    echo " "
    echo "**** `date +%H:%M:%S` - TEMPLOYEE_DTLS has finished OK.."
    fiThis is the entire SUTEMPCHK.sql script that the UNIX script uses..
    -- Check if any errors have occurred
    SELECT count(1) FROM kpmg_error_check WHERE concurrent_id = &1
    EXITIs it that the above is always returning '1' and so always thinks theres an entry in the errors table?
    Is there an easier way?
    many thanks,
    Steven

    Hi,
    You have to iterate through all pages.marginPreferences:
    var
      myDocument = app.activeDocument,
      allPagesMaPref = myDocument.pages.everyItem().marginPreferences,
      curPageMaPref;
    while ( curPageMaPref = allPagesMaPref.pop() )
      with (curPageMaPref) {
      columnCount = 1;
      //columnGutter can be a number or a measurement string.
      columnGutter = "0";
      bottom = "0"
      //When document.documentPreferences.facingPages == true,
      //"left" means inside; "right" means outside.
      left = "40"
      right = "0"
      top = "0"
      inside = "0"

    It seems that the FILENAME value from the LINUX script was not being passed into the SQLPLUS procedure.
    How do you pass LINUX variables into the SQLPLUS procedure>
    Not sure if I had the right usage => ${FILENAME}above is correct syntax

  • Convertion of UPK Scripts to OATS Automation Scripts

    Hi Team,
    Could you please help us how to convert UPK(User Productivity Kit) Test Scripts to OATS Automation Scripts ?
    It will be helpful us in giving more productivity to clients as most of the customers asking about UPK integration with Oracle application testing suite(OATS)
    We analysed that UPK generates java script . and it recognizes the objects in the form of positions,coordinates and style sheets but where as in OATS tool it identifies based on the html tags like id,name,value,index,title.
    Is it possible to convert the Scripts generated in UPK to OATS Automation tool?
    Please assist us in this clarification. Your reply will be very valuable.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Merging all DB scripts into a single script for deployment

    Hi,
    I'm using an Oracle Database Project in Visual Studio to store single scripts for each database object, which I like a lot. What I don't know is how to merge all those scripts into a single script now that I'm ready for deployment. I would prefer to give the DBA guy a single script with all the objects and not one script per DB object.
    Is there any way to achieve this?
    Julio

    Hi,
    I'm playing with this stuff these days and Yes, there is a possibility:
    Under Visual Studio:
    Open your Database Edition Project
    Goto "Server Explorer"
    You should have previously created a connection to your Target DB.
    Open that connection. you have a collection of folders.
    Select/Open the Schema Folder, then the Tables Folder.
    Select the Tables you want to Script, right-click and select "Generate Create Script to Project".
    Enter a Scriptname and click OK
    That's all.
    Going back to your Project, you shuld find a Script into your "Script" Folder.
    The problem is that you cannot create separate Scripts when selecting multiple tables, as I stated in my Post "ODT lacks some functionnalities"
    Hope it helps

  • How to launching a perl script by the "begin" script of a jumpstart

    Hi all,
    i have an urgent pb with my solaris jumpstart, let me explain to you :
    i want that the begin script launch some perl script, but i have a problem
    here is my "begin" script:
    echo "Begining ISO FLAR based jumpstart."
    echo ""
    echo "Starting Ullink Configuration"
    env > /tmp/env
    /bin/sh << EOF
    /usr/bin/perl /cdrom/.archives/admin-scripts/sethostname.pl
    EOFmy perl script use a STDIN
    with this configuration, the perl script is launching but it runs in a loop indefinitely with an error "use of uninitialized value", because (i think) a value is return to the begin scritp and not to the perl script.
    well, on a pre-installed solaris, if a launch the begin script, it happens the same thing, it runs in a loop, BUT if i comment the line "/bin/sh <<EOF" and "EOF", it works.

  • Script to export a script as run-only via AppleScript Editor

    Hi,
    I have written a script that's creating a new script and than save it to the desktop as run-only.
    Now Apple has re-written the rules of AppleScript Editor so the run-only command had to go via 'Export' (and not 'Save' anymore).
    I can't figure out how to script it now... I even tried to script the menu's but that's only possible for all menu's without '...' ending it. For example: 'File > New' is scriptable, but 'File > Export...' is not.
    Script 1 is the script I want to get working, but if scripting the Export of AppleScript Editor is not possible, I want to get de workaround of Script 2
    Script 1:

    set myScript to "
    set studentnumber to \"" & studentnumber & "\"
    set password to \"" & password & "\"
    tell application \"Safari\"
    tell application "AppleScript Editor"

    -- Set these variables for clarity and brevity later on

              set r to (items 3 through (mList's length) of mList)

              tell application "System Events"
                        if mList's length is 1 then

    Applescript has changed a little. You can now save uncompiled scripts, but it would make no sense to save an uncompiled script as read-only, so trying to do that fails. Add a compile command before the save:
    tell application "AppleScript Editor"
      activate
              set doc to make new document with data myScript
      compile doc
              save doc as "application" in ((POSIX path of (path to desktop)) & "Automatisch Inloggen op GLR.app") with run only
              return
      close doc
    end tell

  • How to submit an input dynamically to an sql script in a shell script

    Dear all,
    I have a shell script myscript.sh, in that I am running an sql script , say mysql.sql, the sql script prompts for a value, and I have to type that prompted value to run the script. How can I give this value in my shell script itself.
    Sample script
    #!/bin/bash
    echo "script starting at $(date)"
    sqlplus apps/apps @mysql.sql
    echo "script completed at $(date)"
    exit
    Regards,

  • Running perl scripts off the preinstall script during a pkgadd

    Hello,
    I'm trying to build a custom package (apache2 + mysql + php + other stuff) and get stuck on some stone wall that I can't figure.
    Correct me if I'm wrong in my assumptions, and if able, could you provide a work around ? Here it is :
    - The preinstall script must be in /bin/sh , /bin/bash or any valid shell
    - Must be run by root, 'f course
    Now.. As I'm not that strong on bash/sh scripting, I tried to call a perl script off my preinstall script. Somehow my preinstall script just never call the .pl .
    This leads me to my third assumption :
    - It is impossible, not permissible to run other scripts from the preinstall script.
    Basically the perl script checks for some users in /etc/passwd + /etc/group, checks for some directories, create a custom SMF manifest, etc etc . I pretty much want the .pl script to be run.
    The script itself is well packaged, correctly inserted in the package's pkgmap, and so on.
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks,
    Jeff
