Scrolling in a Flash App on a mobile device.  Anyone?

In my opinion, the biggest different between a flash app on a computer desktop vs a flash app on a mobile device is the scrolling behavior.
A flash app on a computer desktop usually has a scrollbar and you click on the up/down arrows or the scrollbar to scroll.  But on a mobile device, this scrolling is done with a swipe of the finger through the screen either horizontally or vertically.
Has anyone had any success implementing this scrolling behavior on a mobile device with a flash app?
If so, what technique did you use?

Dissipation, Can you possibly post your method of scrolling? For a comparison, i have been trying to get this scrolling to work for ages.
I have this:
var ease:int = 6
var targX:int = dragMe.x
var targY:int = dragMe.y
var drag:Boolean = false
var ptX:int
var ptY:int
dragMe.cacheAsBitmap = true;
function down(sprite:Sprite):void{
    //ptX = sprite.x - mouseX
    ptY = sprite.y - mouseY
    drag = true
function dragC(sprite:Sprite):void{
    if (drag) {
        //targX = mouseX+ptX;
        targY = mouseY+ptY;
        //trace ('targX ' +targX)
        //trace ('ptX ' +ptX)
    if (sprite.x != targX || sprite.y != targY) {
        //sprite.x += (targX-sprite.x)/ease;
        sprite.y += (targY-sprite.y)/ease;
function up(sprite:Sprite):void {
    drag = false;
stage.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, dragHandler)
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, downHandler)
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, upHandler)
function dragHandler(event:Event):void    { dragC(dragMe) }
function upHandler(event:MouseEvent):void    { up(dragMe) }
function downHandler(event:MouseEvent)
This works fine, it scrolls with easing, but on the device its quite slow, i mean its not jumpy but once flicked it scrolls very slow. Even if i changed the variable: ease

There's no way to open or run the file. And to be honest, I'm not even sure if it's the right download... Help!

    I'm using PC with Windows 8.1. I got onto the Creative Cloud and downloaded "Flash Professional CC and Mobile Device Packaging (2014)". <--- That would be the file. I can't open or run it from CC and I couldn't find a file in my computer either.
    I've also found direct downloads for the trial version and hit the set-up button, it loads up, and then nothing happens.

  • I have created an android app from adobe flash cs6 .The app opens on mobile device except on nexus 7 which has lollipop version? Is there any way to open my app on that device?

    Dear Bob,
      I downloader a VLS Streamer from the Apple app store.  It requires some kind of helper software to run, which, as far as I can tell from the video at the developer's site, allows one to download content from one's mobile device to their computer.  Since I don't have a compatible computer for my iPad to link to, the instructions don't help my situation.  I emailed them with my query and will probably hear from them sometime this week.
       I've lived with this problem for the 3 months I've had my iPad, and I'll keep after it until I have a solution.  But right now, I've run out of steam.  If this lead helps me to resolve my issue, I'll come back and HELPFUL or RESOLVED every response you've given.  I'm very grateful for your help.  Sorry I'm so utterly clueless.
       Thanks once again.  Please don't cringe if I get back to you another day.

    When I go to access my albums from any app on my phone or iPad, I cannot access the iCloud albums, only the albums synced with iTunes/iPhoto manually.  This is frustrating because I cannot add to those albums from mobile device, I have to add to them during a Mac sync.  I would like to be able to use my iCloud albums to organize my photos but if I cannot access them from apps it seems pointless.  I will end up having to maintain both an iCloud library and a separate iPhoto library which is more work that seems necessary.  I want everything easy to organize and access.  It seems like in this age where most people are more likely to use their mobile devices than their Macs (and some do not even own Macs) that there should be a mobile solution.  Hopefully I am simply without a clue and you folks can help me out with a fix or a source of info as a solution.  I have not found answers yet.

  • Removing Flash using CSS for mobile devices

    Hi- I'm trying make my website moble friendly (I know- drop the flash all together but I can't).
    Instead of having JS redirect to a new page, I'd like to have CSS hide the Flash and replace with a menu.  Is this possible?
    Here is the page w/ flash: http://www.prodentite.com/about/index.htm
    I'd like to be able make the page look like this when the browser doesn't support flash:
    http://www.prodentite.com/mobile/
    Any suggestions?

    Create a new css stylesheet with a media type of "handheld" and make selectors that call out those items you wish to "hide" by making them display: none;
    Be sure you put a media type on your general css stylesheet of "screen" so that your stylesheets won't fight with each other.
    I know there are great tutorials out there for creating "print" stylesheets for "screen" web pages. You can follow a similar procedure when you create your "handheld" stylesheet.
    Here's one of them now:

  • What is the best way to create a Scheduler app for ALL mobile devices?

    I've used indesign to make apps before, (more like interactive/digital publications) and now I'm trying to make a scheduling app. What's the best way for me to accomplish this since it's a little more intricate? Indesign + DPS?? Any other recommendations?

    Skipping InDesign & using HTML5/something such as Appcelerator's Titanium would be your best bet.
    If you're set on using DPS, however, you'll need to make multiple multi-folio apps, single issue apps aren't supported iPhone or Android. DPS folios are also not responsive, although in some cases renditions will scale to support different devices.

  • Complementary apps with new mobile device

    Hello, I was wondering about the complementary apps (pages, keynote, iPhoto, and iMovie) that are supposed to be included when you buy a new iphone.  I bought my phone on December 27th, I think they were included by then.  But anyway, does anyone know how to download them from the App Store without having to pay for them?
    So far I haven't really done much except for go to the App Store and see of they would prompt me I download it.

    Excellent.  The key is you have to "purchase" the apps on your iPhone, not iTunes or a different Apple device.
    Enjoy your Apple gear.

  • Saving app data on mobile devices?

    Hey, I want to make a save file for the game I'm making for iOS and Android, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it.
    Should I make a text file? Where do I store it/read it from? Where does it go?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    -Thanks in advance.

    The application storage directory is a good place for saved game files.
    The format is whatever you find easiest to use. Both text and XML work. You can also write a save game object to a byte array and save that to a file.
    Instead of reading and writing a file yourself, you could use a local shared object.

  • How to Make Dreamweaver CS4/Flash CS4 Website Function on all Latest Mobile Devices

    Hello!
    I am trying to add code into my Dreamweaver CS4 file and/or Flash CS4 file in order to have the website I have created work across all of the latest mobile devices as well as traditional online systems. My flash file has a transparent stage, and my dreamweaver file has a full-screen background image. I have reviewed various tutorials and articles available online, and some advocate simply adding code, which does not seem to be working for me, while others suggest having a similar separate site created solely for mobile devices. If this is the best option, I don't know how that should be set up. What is the best path to take with this?
    This is the collection of various pieces of code I have tried adding to my files:

    I have tried various combinations of the code listed above, but nothing seems to be working. I am not sure as to the positioning of the code, and maybe that is the problem, or maybe it is because this code in not for CS4, or not appropriate for my project. I also do not know what code should be inside the Flash file, nor what should should be inside the Dreamweaver file.
    Thank you in advance for any assistance!

    Hi
    To add to what Gramps has said, Adobe has ceased developing its flash player for ALL mobile devices so do not use Flash for any mobile device.
    Depending on the complexity of your Flash program you may be able to recreate it using Edge, but the code generated by Edge does not work in IE8 or below.
    For details on Edge, see - http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/edge/

  • Jerky scrolling on mobile devices with Muse website

    We have just built and published our first website on all three platforms (desktop, tablet and phone) but the vertical scrolling on the Phone and Tablet pages is jerky, and struggles to render the text smoothly compared to other websites when scrolling. All our images are optimised to the minimum size, and the pages are just simple html with images, with no complicated actions or behaviours. They appear jerky across both Apple/Android and Windows devices and also across the various browsers on each device. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
    Thanks in advance. Phil

    Hi Gaurav,
    Thanks for the response.
    Since I posted the question, we have solved the problem by removing the sticky navigation bars which appeared to have default scroll effects applied to them. Do mobile devices not like the parallax scroll effects from within Muse, as obviously we would like to reinstate the sticky navigation if possible in the future?
    Regards,
