Scrolling window slide freezes

Captivate v5.5
I have created a project in which I have some slides that I created using the automatic recording option in order to view the full length of one of our pages on our website.
When I preview the side (F10) it runs just fine, but when I run the whole project the slides stops about half way down and Captivate freezes and I have to force it to close.
The slide in question is 16 seconds in length.
I dont think the problem is with my project more likely my PC and maybe system resources - but can anyone give me any idea what might be causing the problem so I can direct my IT people accordingly - as they always say it must be Captivate that is at fault.
Noel

I am sending myself a reply as a means of testing if this generates an email notification.
For some reason I have stopped getting email notifications when things are posted on this forum.
Have checked MS Outlook and that all looks fine, so am trying to solve it from this end.

  • Windows slide under Menu Bar

    I've noticed recently that I can make application windows slide under the Menu Bar.  Some slide under then 'snap' back into view when I release the mouse button holding the window down.  Others that don't display the grey bar at the top of the window (like the iTunes mini player for example) don't 'snap' back into view.
    Anyone else have this issue or offer a solution?  I am running 10.8.5.  Thanks.

    Render at least standard sized previews for all photos prior to displaying in the slideshow.

  • Windows 8 Freezes after last "Lenovo Settings Update" anytime the pointer goes to a corner

    After the most recent "Lenovo Settings Update", my Windows 8 freezes for a few minutes (minimum of two) anytime the pointer hits one of the hot corners.  The system also freezes for a couple of minutes or less when certain apps are started or the mouse clicks on certain apps.  This is a repeatable error.  I can restore the system to the setpoint previous to the "Lenovo Settings Update" and everything works fine.  re-Install the update and the problem comes back.  The system also freezes for 5-10 seconds when an e-mail message comes in and the notification appears.  Also happens under other different circumstances but the worst is when the mouse pointer goes to any "Hot Corner".  I can reset the system to the last restore point and have everything work fine but anytime I go to "Lenovo Settings", it forces the update which then creates this problem.
    Has anyone else seen this issue?  I have all the updates for Windows 8 and Lenovo installed including all new Bios updates that are published.  The model is  a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge S320u (otherwise known as the "Twist". The error is repeatable in all screen modes, tablet modes and multiple monitor modes.
    For now I will go back to the latest restore point but would like to see the issue resolved.
    Thanks.
    Bob

    I had the exact same issue with the same computer (Thinkpad Twist)! Am very happy to have come accross this page through a web search.
    After installing some updates through Lenovo Update App (because of a message that critical updates are available on the Lenovo Support App from Startscreen), my whole system would freeze for about two minutes when moving the cursor over any corner. This is very troublesome not only because it effectively disables the Windows 8 "hot corners" (which I didn't use much anyway, preferring to launch the tasks thus accessible differently), but mostly because it is necessary at times to access the corners, notably to close any document, webpage or other instance of any program that was open in full screen (which usually all of my docs/programs are, considering the Twist's small screensize...).
    Afer reading rbagnall's post I first tried uninstalling updates through the Lenovo Update center. But there, once installed, updates don't seem to be removable. Why Lenovo? You can look at the list of installed updates but not make any change. Now I have followed rbagnall's advice and restored my computer with a restore point, sufficiently far back, as I didn't know exactly which update caused this. It worked! Not exactly pleasant, because I had to reinstall some programs and change some settings again, but the problem got resolved.
    I went further and tried to see which update causes this by installing them one by one and seeing when the problem appears. The culprit seems to be "Display Mode Orientation Update for Windows 8". One needs to install the "Lenovo Power Management Driver" with it (which is actually listed under optional updates, whereas the Display Mode update is shown as a critical one, but the former is selected automatically when the later is chosen, and one cannot unselect it, a message appears then that it is necessary for the other update). So it could be that one as well (haven't checked whether installing it without the Display Mode update creates the same problem). In any case, once these are installed, the problem appears.
    I have now restored my PC again to the restore point, and haven't installed any Lenovo update, not even the other critical one, as I don't know what it's for (Critical patch to fix TVSU UTS issue - I haven't had this issue, and any web entries on this I found dated back to 2009). In the optional updates there is also a BIOS update, which I had installed previously, but I don't know what it's for either. If there is anything terribly useful in either (or other optional updates), please tell me.
    For now I have uninstalled the Lenovo Support Startscreen App (which seems to be more annoying than helpful), and will refrain from updating any Lenovo drivers from now, which seems to do more harm than good (everything was working fine before the update)...

  • Windows is freezing.

    Hi, Windows is freezing on my boot camp setup.
    It's not a blue screen, the screen just freezes and my only option is to hard reboot the machine.
    Upon reboot, Windows does not have any crash dumps to report.
    I already ran a RAM test using mdsched.exe and no memory errors were found.
    I am running Windows 7 SP1 Enterprise x64, Boot Camp 3.2, on a MacBook 5,1 model with 4GB of RAM.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next?
    I'm about to install Win7 x86 just to see if it works better...

    I am looking for a way to make my thumbnails be able to scroll or slide when I build a slideshow I don't like having all the  Thumbnails on the screen at one time. So I'm trying to get the effect that you would have eight  thumbnails below the main  picture viewer then you could click a button and a new group of eight would appear is there a way to do this

  • What can I do to stop the vertical scroll bar from freezing up or vanishing?

    I am mostly in the App Store, but often the vertical (up & down) scroll bar will freeze up so it does not move or while scrolling with it, the bar vanishes!  How can I fix this or can it be fixed?

    The only thing that's worked for me is clicking on a selection (I'm usually in music), and then going back to the main page. Usually, the scroll bar will reappear.  That's a ridiculous jumping through hoops to do something simple, but I haven't found any solution, either.

  • Transfering files from Windows machine freezes my wi-fi connection

    Guys, this is very weird, and it started to happen a week ago.
    I use finder to connect to my windows machine on my home network, and after typing my password, I get access to the folder in the windows machine that I want.
    The problem is: any file I try to transfer FROM or TO the windows PC freezes up mac os X after some seconds of transfer ... like a 60 mb file, it freezes after 20mb have been transfered ... and that's not only it ...
    It freezes mac os x until I get the message "Connection to server LOST", and I only can get back on the network if I literally shut down my wi-fi router, because my macbook simply can't get DNS ip assigned again, it always auto-assign some weird ip and doesn't come back to the network till I restart my wi-fi router.
    What in the **** may be going on ? Remember, it started to happen lately, it was not like this before !

  • Bootcamp 'Glowing' windows logo freeze after gfx driver install

    Bootcamp 'Glowing' windows logo freeze after gfx driver install
    Last week suddenly, after having changed or installed nothing, trying to boot into windows resulted in a frozen glowy window logo 'Starting Windows', which resulted in having to format the windows partition.
    Since then I've found out that I can do everything except install gfx drivers.
    I've installed firefox, all bootcamp drivers except gfx, swtor (doesn't run of course, but installs fine), quicktime, rebooting is fine after all this...
    But as soon as I install any kind of graphics driver and reboot, it freezes at the glowy window logo.
    I have tried;
    The bootcamp included gfx driver
    Windows Update included gfx driver
    Official nVidia latest beta driver
    Official nVidia latest whql driver
    Official nVidia oldest whql driver
    nVidia Cuda driver, both versions
    All give the same result
    I have formatted the entire harddrive and written zeros and made the windows partition in a physically different location to make sure it's not a harddrive issue, no luck.
    I have tried both Windows 7 x86 and x64 with matching drivers, same results.
    Tried booting with no devices attached, no luck.
    This all seems to me like a bust gfx card, were it not that under Lion everything works fine, even gaming (WoW).
    Techtool Pro's test machine shows no errors.
    My machine is a;
    iMac
    24-inch, Early 2008
    Processor  3,06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Geheugen  4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

    I am running Lion on a Mac Mini Server wherein I placed a Bootcamp partition and installed Windows 7 Ultimate. I've been testing Windows Media Center using a CableCard Tuner installed in a SiliconDust HomeRun box.
    All was well until I received a Windows notification of an NVIDIA driver update. After the update, I now freeze at the same point that you do in the Windows startup splash screen.
    I rolled back the driver using the Windows control panel associated with the device. Still freezes.
    Windows repair does not have a fix. I can't get windows to start in "safe mode" so I can remove the additional apps that NVIDIA installed during the update.
    I'm certain the freeze is associated with the NVIDIA driver.

  • Why am I starting to get a small scrolling window come up on the bottom of my Safari window repeating what I am searching for?

    I am getting a scrolling window that comes up at the bottom of my Safari window whenever I search for something on the web.   It seems to be restating what I am search for but asks if you want to try something else.   It has a ? and a X to close.   Sometimes allows me to close but other times takes me to

    Appreciate any help.

    What versions of OS X and Safari are you running?
    What extensions have you installed?

  • Windows 8 freezing when using Firefox

    When I'm using Firefox or Chrome browsers the whole entire PC is freezing.
    Already posted my issue on the Microsoft Community forum, where you can read the details and the troubleshooting steps I tried:

    Firefox has hardware acceleration set to "on" by default, but it's still young, which means some video cards or drivers might have problems with it. You can try to disable hardware acceleration to see if that alleviates your problems.
    You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps for Firefox version 29.0 and above:
    *Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select Options for Windows or Preferences on Mac or Linux. For Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
    *In the Firefox options window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
    *In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
    *Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
    Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
    Note that if this issue happens in both Chrome <b>and</b> Firefox that it may be a system issue and not a Firefox related issue,

  • Scrolling Window Help in MX

    I'm trying to insert a scrolling window (sorry if this is the
    wrong term) in the center of one of my web pages and I'm having
    trouble. I'm looknig to create a 1024 x 200 window with the scroll
    bar along the right side. This is an example code that I found
    online:
    <style>
    <!--
    #simplebox {
    width: 300px;
    height: 100px;
    overflow: scroll;
    color: red;
    background-color: #000;
    padding:10px;
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    <div id="simplebox">
    <p>This is a simple overflow box that is done using
    CSS. It's very simple. You can determine the size of the box by
    changing the CSS code that is within the style tags. You can also
    add color to the font and background. The padding is called out so
    it allows some space between the paragraph and the outer edge of
    the overflow window. If you don't know CSS, you should! You can do
    some much more with it.<p>
    </div>
    I was able to adjust the box to my size and color liking but
    for some reason I couldn't get it placed in the right place on my
    page. No matter where it was inserted in my code, the scroll box
    alwyas ended up at the very top of the page and sometimes depending
    on where I placed the the style script my page would be completely
    blank. Can someone point me in the right direction of the proper
    and hopefully easy way to create one of these scroll boxes?
    Thanks!
    Gordon

    I have since changed my code to the following which controls
    the parameters of the scoll box. I drew a layer and applied the
    following settings in the properties box.
    <div id="ScrollBox" style="position:absolute; left:512;
    top:350; width:900; height:175; z-index:1; overflow: scroll;
    background-color: #000000; layer-background-color: #000000; border:
    1px none #000000; visibility: visible;">
    I have removed the text from the code and also the
    </div> tag follows at the end. My problem now is it looks
    great on my computer at my resolution of 1920x1200 but when viewing
    the page on my girlfriends computer at 1024x768 it shoves the
    warning box over to the right and it's half off of her page. I
    dont' know what to do to get the scroll box to stay in place and
    not move. the left and top settings were the only thing I could
    find to position the scorll box correctly on my page...the 512
    places the left edge of the layer at the center of my webpage in
    dreamweaver but when previewing it, the position looks fine....when
    previewing it on the other computer the left edge of the scroll box
    is at the center of the page and the right side is hanging off.
    Please help, I'm confused.
    Thanks

  • Very slow scrolling window thumbnails clips

    Very slow scrolling windows with thumbnail clips. The more files in the event, the worse it gets. It is very frustrating. Is in others it is the same? I have MacOookPro i7 early 2011, thunderbolt drives RAID0, 16GB memory, FCPX 10.0.7. After the hardware is decent.
    Give some feedback, thank you.
    P.S. I might add that this disadvantage are found from version 10.0.0.

    You might want to look at either booting from your install dvd (insert, restart and hold 'C' down) and running disk repair from Utilities. Alternatively, and I always suggest any Mac user should have at least one, a 3rd party disk utility like DiskWarrior (there are others) is extremely useful.

  • CSS scrolling window for thumbnails

    Hello, I'm in the process of designing my first CSS portfolio
    site. I have a lot of thumbnails and frankly they look a mess
    because there are so many. Therefore I want to contain them within
    some kind of simple scrolling window.
    My question: Is this possible using CSS? Does anyone have any

    Thanks, DT.

    Yes, but only in IE/PC. In other words, it's not worth your
