Sd consultant in IS RETAIL

What is the role of SD consultant in IS RETAIL project implementation

As far as my understanding goes,
SD consultant would be responsible for all stock movements from Warehouse to Store,Return to Vendor,
STO,Reverse STO ,Sales order,Outbound delivery and inbound delivery.
MM consultant is responsible for Article creation, maintenace,PO creation, releasing startegy,MC Classification and other settings.
There is however no clear demarcation in the role of MM and SD and it depends upon the organization.

  • Carreer advise Req: SAP ABAP MM 1 yr exp.

    Hi All,
Currently, Am working as SAP ABAP Consultant in SAP Retail, nearly for an year now. My over all IT exp is 3 years with starting  years in Java/Support project and later moved into SAP.
Now many are advising me to add extra skills (BI , BO, Xi or Functional expertise) to enhance my career as not much oppurtunities lies with only ABAP skillset. And also i found it true, as i see many abaper's collegues with near to 3-4 yrs abap exp find no oppurtunities.
This is the time for me ,i can reshuffle, switch and plan my career. Pls advise me to take right decision and choose right path , so that i gain some oppurtunities in near future. Thanks in advance to all for sincere advice and guidance.

    Suggestions (what I would do):
    a) learn something about interation, like IDOC, EDI, XI/PI and this kind of stuff. Why? Because companies need these guys (I mean your current company - useful for retail - one could integrate your company´s SAP system with another system of your supplier and be able to manage stock in a better way - and if you would decide to move on, this skill would be useful for you in other companies as well)
    b) learn about printing, like Adobe forms: it could be used as a frontend for the salespeople who don´t like the SAP face and would prefer something more "paper-like"
    c) learn WebDynpro so you can build web based apps for SAP - this is useful anytime for everybody
    d) BI/ BW/ BO - again - useful for the current employer and for the future as well. Reporting is essential for the retail, so one can understand what customers buy/ don´t buy, how long does it take to sell a piece of X, how many pieces of Y you have to throw away (broken, scratched, whatever)...
I understand this is not a specific advise, maybe it is more general than you would prefer, but I am afraid you cannot have more specific advise from the short profile you provided.
    Cheers Otto

  • Ipod touch with Alesis imultimix 8 usb

Will the iPod touch work with the alesis imultimix 8 usb? What about the iPhone?

    JoshPro wrote:
Will the iPod touch work with the alesis imultimix 8 usb? What about the iPhone?
No. I've checked out the Alesis web site and it states that the iMultimix 8 USB has "Integrated recording for iPod Classic, 5th gen. (Video), and 2nd or 3rd gen. iPod nano".
The iPod Touch has several differences to the above models, which means that unless Alesis specifically design for the Touch, it will not work.
Before you rush out and buy another iPod, be aware of the limitations of this setup. First of all, the currently available nano is 4th generation, which is not listed as compatible. The 5th gen video is no longer available, leaving only the Classic.
    Also, consider that:
    1. Recording onto the iPod from the Alesis is done via the "Voice Memo" facility, which I don't know anything about. So the question is, can a voice memo be played back through the iPod once recorded, or is it using the iPod as a hard drive which means it cannot be played on the iPod but simply uploaded to the computer? I don't know, does anyone else?
    2. The recording is 16bit 44.1Khz, which is CD quality, so I think I'm correct in saying that therefore each minute of recording is going to use up a lot of storage space. (Remember, mp3 files are one-tenth the size of the CD WAV file.) So would there be enough room for you to do what you want?
To be honest, I think this is a bit of a gimmick. Yes, you can record onto it, and then upload the result to your computer, so it would be a useful facility to record demos etc. It can also be used to play back the regular iPod music or mp3 files through the Alesis, as background music at a live gig during band breaks for instance. But most street musicians I see playing live have minidisc players (remember them?) as their accompaniment music or to record onto. I know that may not be why you want this, I'm simply giving an example.
Perhaps you should consult an Alesis retailer for further information.

  • HTC 8X bought at Microsoft Store

I bought my phone at Microsoft Store. I bought it from Verizon because I live in Brazil and need a unlocked phone.
I bought at full price because this. I fought it would avoid problems, but...
Fist: My USSD service doesn't work properly. As you can see in the attached picture I only can see strange things. I had this problem with an AT&T SIM and a Brazilian Claro SIM.
Second: the sales person at Microsoft said I can use internet sharing (like I use to do with my old Samsung Focus). But for my surprise here in Brazil I only can see "Internet Sharing isn't currently allowed".
I'm very depressive about this two things, particularly the internet sharing because I use to use this here in Brazil with my Samsung Focus.
Any possible to unlock this thing without need a green card and live in USA using Verizon SIM?

i suggest you consult with the retail shop (the place you buy this PC) since is difficult to us determine your issue
I suggest reinstall OS to isolate OS issue
if you buy online, please contact Microsoft sales

  • My complaint about our retail store.

A copy of my complaint. I am still angry.
    E-mail sent 08-21-2010
    Dear Verizon Wireless,
I believe that you should always treat a customer with respect. I dealt with both your customer service representatives over the phone and your local retail store yesterday 8-20-2010. I am disgusted with how I was treated at your retail store in my city, Mount Pleasant, Texas. I was treated as if I was an annoyance for your sales associate, and I didn’t appreciate it. I have a contract with your company and have for years now. My bill is paid in full on or before it is due. I have been a loyal customer and have never been disrespectful to any of your employees. That being said I feel there was absolutely no reason I should have been treated with such disregard. Let me explain my day yesterday so that you can better understand my frustration.  I purchased the LG Ally last month. I was interested in the Droid or the Palm, but when I could not afford to purchase the Droid a sales representative sold me the Ally stating that it was as close as I could get without getting the Droid. So I did spend 150.00 dollars buying that phone in your retail store. On the day that I paid my last bill approximately 7-14 days after purchasing the Ally I went into the store to pay the bill and ask a question about the phone freezing every time I sent a text.  I was actually lucky enough to catch the female that sold me the phone. I asked her about the problem and she stated to me that “we have had issues with that phone freezing, and until you get a software update it cannot be fixed”.  She also said that Verizon was working on the issue that I should wait. She never stated to me that I was within my 30 days of return and could have switched phones.  She was not eager at all at assist with the issue and basically said I was stuck with it for 2 years. This is after she made a commission off me and took an hour to tell me how wonderful this phone was just a few weeks earlier. Right then I was upset and left the store that way believing that there was nothing that I could do. After a few more days of trying to text on the phone I finally became fed up with it and decided that I should call customer service for better answers. What they stated to me, after I was very adamant about how I was treated in the store, was that they would extend my 30 day grace period and I could exchange the phone. I then asked your customer service representative what phone would do what mine would and was told only the Droid. I absolutely could not spend another 100.00 dollars to upgrade again. Then I was told that even if I did spend the 100.00 dollars that they would still charge me for the Ally till it was received back. Now I understand that it was a temporary charge, but what that says to me is that you believe that I would have kept both.  This is ridiculous of you to assume when I have such a good payment history as well as how I have been treated from your end at this point. I was also told that the freezing is not a known issue with the phone and that they had no idea why the store representative would have told me that. At this point I am frustrated and confused about whether or not I should even ask for a new Ally or if it will do any good, because I don’t know if this is an issue all the phones are having or not. The phone line representative tells me no and the store is telling me yes.  So I go back to the store again,  and I ask to speak to a manager. After a sales clerk sits there and plays with my phone and tries to get it to freeze, he acts like I made it all up…. Why would I even bother? At this point if there wasn’t an issue I would have just said forget it, but my phone was not working correctly and I deserve one that does. I paid 150.00 dollars for one that does send a text message without freezing and then restarting every single time, right? Apparently I was very wrong to assume that. Your wireless consultant Jesse Summerlin approaches me and tells me again that the freezing is a known issue. He then tells me that if customer service is willing to give me the Droid for the difference then I should take that. He stated to me that if I tried to make that switch in the store then he could not give me credit for the Ally at all and that I would pay full price for the Droid. So knowing that I cannot afford to do that I ask him tom just give me a new Ally. I was hoping that I could walk out of the store with a phone that works. He states to me that he cannot do that, that he doesn’t have the Ally. I walk out of you store, wondering if I am ever going to have a phone that works right. I am at the end of my rope and have no idea what I should do. I am being told at the store that the Ally has problems and that getting it replaced is worthless. Yet when I call in they tell me the exact opposite.  So I go all the way home to Daingerfield, Texas. Daingerfield is about 20-25 minutes from Mount Pleasant, Texas. The Mount Pleasant store is your closest retail store to my residence. When I arrive home, for some reason I try the customer service line one more time. This time I reach a female that actually treats me decently. She transfers me to a male named Daniel. After Daniel hears my long and painful day of dealing with Verizon, he takes pity on me and helps. He tells me that since Verizon did extend my 30 days I can have the phone replaced. He tells me that I can have it mailed but that it would be Monday before it shipped and Wednesday before I received the phone. He actually took the time to find a way to have the phone replaced right then. Unfortunately, to do that I would have to drive all the way back to Mount Pleasant with a 15 month child in tow for a second time to do so. Wait a minute, your manager has just told me that I cannot do that because he does not have the phone in stock? After your customer service representative Daniel calls the store, we find out that Jesse Summerlin flat out lied to me. He had sent me all the way home without a working phone, and he didn’t have to. The phone was in stock in your retail store.  Now I am livid that he had the nerve to lie to me, to my face and send me away for absolutely no reason.  It was disrespectful and inappropriate of him to treat a paying customer that way. I am shocked that your company lets consultants decide what a customer can and cannot do on a whim. Is it Verizons policy to lie to a customer and then have to eventually settle the matter later? Is Verizon so arrogant that they let their employees treat people in this manner? This incident almost cost you our business altogether.  Here is what I would like to happen from this point on. I will be making a special trip at the request of your customer service line to speak with the store manager here in Mount Pleasant, Texas about these events. I expect that her better make this right after all that I have been through. I had to drive all the way back to Mount Pleasant after your employee lied to me and I expect that he fixes that. Then I am going to send this e-mail to your complaint department and also print copies of the e-mail and request to see you regional manager. One way or the other I expect that someone at Verizon makes sure that the next person that walks into Verizon Wireless in Mount Pleasant has a better experience.
    Thank you for your time.

They hire fat computer nerds that were picked on in high school for years and this is their payback.  Dump Verizon... none of the others are this way to the customer.  Their sales are going down for this very reason and there are now a lot of better options to choose from.

  • SD queries in retail

    Dear all
SAP ECC6.0 retail for provogue implementation, I am submitting the queries, can u please make solutions for all, these are the pending queries for provogue. Which canu2019t able to go for live? Please your people can support for the issues and make successful for live.
    1)     Article scanning is not available in Goods Issue. (VL01N).
REA: - when we are creating the delivery in VL01N at that time provogue needs to scan the articles. I donu2019t know exactly how to do in functional side can u please explain whether it should be technical or functional, if it is functional please let me clarify.
    2. If BO is created for X article & we are creating SO for X & Y then it is accepting.
Rea:-  suppose I am going to create sales order with reference to bulk order. In item level all articles are copied from bulk order to sales order screen, if I can give manual article to input in sales order screen system is allowing to enter the article. It should not allow the manual article over there. Please suggest me how can I do that?.
    3.     We can not cancel BO or SO for the entire article at a time. We need to give reasons separately for diff. articles.
Rea: - if I can cancel the sales order. in the line item reason/rejection filled every time I have to fill. I need a solution for this .i want to cancel full line items at a time. I donu2019t want to click the reason for every time. Can you please give me the best possible way for this ?.

    Hi
If the scanning is for a serial number, the config is done by a funcutional consultant only. You need to configure for serial number management and Scanning of an article for  ser no has to be done befor the PGI after delivery.
Regarding your query for reason for rejection, i suppose you can give the reason for rejection at the header level so that the complete order is rejected.

    Hi
    1) ECC to POS : a) WDBM_HPR tcode is use to trigger idoc for assortment list
    b) WPMA tcode is used for triggering idocs for MC based promotion,Merchandise Hirarchacy & mixmatch discounts.
    2) POS to SAP R/3 : data will pass through XI. POS Tlog files will be used by XI to process data into SAP.
WPUUMS & WPUTAB Idocs will be used to send data to R/3.
we can check in R/3 by using Tcode WPER for the creation of billing documents & Article documents.
    Error handling :
    1) check in weo5 & in XI monitoring for outbound idocs.
    2) check in we05 inbound & in XI for inbound monitoring.

  • ABAP IS-Retail

    Hi,
I am an ABAP Consultant and am newly into IS-Retail module. I may be working mostly on Reports,Scripts and User Exits.Could anyone let me know how IS-Retail can be significantly different from other modules technically (not functionally).I know either it is any module , the ABAP programming doesn't change but am just curious about any info that I can go through which is more related to ABAP in IS-RETAIL like T-codes,Imp tables, Pricing scenarios etc. that I need to aware of.I apologize if there is a similar thread on ABAP IS-Retail but I hardly couldn't find any.I am really looking forward if anyone could help me with this in programming perspective.
    Thanks,

    Hi Sunil,
Its my own personal view that ABAP for Industry Modules is more process oriented rather than core advanced ABAP. This means, you would be doing all same normal ABAP stuff except that it would be more of a already existing process enhancements for customer requirement.

  • Guidence needed for SAP Carrer (IS Retail+SD)

    Hi All,
I am planning to change my Career path from IT Analyst to SAP IS RETAIL Consultant. I am Currently working in retail company (UK Retailer) from last 4 years as IT Analyst involved in Mapping business requirements and Implementing new systems etc.
I don't have any experience in SAP, I am planning to join Certification course for SD+ISRETAIL and I Checked with one of  SAP Authorized training Center and got overview of IS RETAIL.
Retail industry is booming accross the world (including India) i think there will be enough opportunities for SAP IS Retail Consultants(this is one of the reason for changing Career path) . I believe experience i have gained in retail domain from last four years will be useful in implementing SAP IS Retail  to suit client requirements.
I would request your guidence and suggestion on this.
    Regards
    Natraj

    Hi,
I feel you have made a genuine plan. As you have good industry knowledge you should be able to grasp the concepts easily. You experience in Retail industry can help you in your job search.
In india you can target cos like IBM, Accenture which have big SAP Teams.
I feel you should go for IS Retail certification, not sure why you wanna do SD.
