so i'm attempting to compile and debug, a module source code from here axidma.c.golden under SDK. (try to run on zc706 but give me a time out error) so i import it under SDK, but when compile its asking for lib due to #header inside the code. after adding directory(petalinux/components/linux-kernel/xlnx-3.17/include/linux, which include the files that the code is looking for) under C/C++ build setting, it give me more compile errors etc. does anyone know how to properly get this code compiled under SDK? any guides etc?

How to send a report DIRECTLY to the printer (Linux App. Svr.)?

Here is the problem:
-- We have Windows clients / Linux App Server / Forms 10g R2.
-- Printers are attached to the Windows clients.
-- When we want to send DIRECTLY to the printer, we have to write data into a text file (using TEXT_IO) &
-- print the same using command HOST('lp -d '||<printer IP of logged in user>t||' '||<file name>,NO_SCREEN).
-- Our normal reports are displayed as PDFs.
Is there a way to directly send the PDF to the printer without having to re-write the report to a text file?? Then we can just use the PDF output and don't have to do any code changes (i.e. redo every report).

Thank you for the quick response. Can u please tell us how to make the printer "known" as a Linux server?? Will a normal network admin know how to do this or is it an Oracle developer's task?

Installing Linux Apps in Solaris Container

Is there a how-to or similar documentation showing how to install and run a Linux app under Solaris 10 x86?
I am particularly interested in running Linux WordPerfect 8/8.1.
I have successfully installed WP8.1/Linux with Free BSD so I have some experience in this sort of grafting.

You have a few options, none of them are great.
1. Wait for "brandz" (basically, other OS personalities in zones). No idea when this will be available, but I wouldn't count too much on it being in 2006.
2. lxrun. This is part of the companion CD - I'm not aware of any more up-to-date versions (though I've not looked in places like Blastwave). This will require one of 2 suboptions
a) that you install Linux on your UFS filesystem or
b) you install Linux on another partition on your disk/another disk and use an ext2fs driver* to mount the Linux parttion.
The SFW lxrun dates from the time of RedHat 6 or 7.

Deploy Linux App

hi guys, I've a problem with deployment of Linux app. My environment is under PKI and connection works without problem. I created a new package with reference to a public share and the program is yum install
yum.plugin.downloadonly.noarch.yum. Deployment is the only one for Linux (required with fixed expire date).
When I run yum list \*download\* I see everytime yum.plugin.downloadonly.noarch and so the package was not deployed.
Compliance % is 0 but the Collection is right, because I can see the machine into this.
What I can check?

to see which options are supported for Linux and UNIX. From your notes above, you will see that "run with user's right" is not supported, and that "run with UNC name" is ignored because the package content (if any -- sounds
like you have an empty ConfigMgr package) is always downloaded from a DP.
Finally note that the command line you specify in the ConfigMgr Program must be "exec"able. By this I mean that ConfigMgr does not automatically supply a shell (just like it doesn't automatically include cmd.exe for Windows computers).
So if your command line includes shell functions like pipes or output redirection, you will have to prefix the command line with /bin/sh -c and put your shell command in quotes.

Just a quick question if anyone can help me.
If it possible to attache Linux App Servers to a iSeries SAP server the same as you can Windows?
I have a consultant on site who is sure you can. I have no idea if you can. I'd never heard of it before. Only Windows.

Other SDK and App-Server

Hello,
I'm currently tryig SJSC and I would like to use another instance f the App-Server and another version of the SDK (1.5_03). Is it possible to configure SJSC to do so or better just say while installation that SJSC should use the already installed versions? The OS is WinXP Prof.

Hi Thomas,
Yes it is possible. you can have an other instance of appserver and in SJSC you can add that server instance as a remote server and deploy your applications to that server.

Latest Adobe Air 3.8 SDK breaks apps on Kindle Fire

The latest Adobe AIR 3.8 SDK seems to break apps on the Kindle Fire. On launch I see a black screen. When I touch the screen I see the UI for a split second, and then it does black again.
The same app works fine when compiled with the last release 3.7 SDK.
Pls investigate ASAP and let me know if you have trouble reproducing this in-house.

Is livecycle rights management provide support for android(mobile) for protection and viewing file securely- interms of API/SDK or App?

I have gone through the rights management flow of Livecycle for microsoft office extension.
However, was interested to know about is there any app or SDKs supported by livecycle on mobile devices(android).
Case study of rights management shows that live cycle has deployed and offered solutions in mobile devices using SDKs. However, couldn't find any resources or documents regarding the same.

Ok, that means live cycle (in mobile devices) is protecting only pdf documents at this point of time.
So what about in the PC and MAC ? Live cycle has the capability to protect and consume/view office or other documents?
Also is there any plans to support files/documents(apart from pdf) in the android(mobile) devices?

AgentryToolkit from SMP3 SDK - OpenUI-app.agxz Documentation ??

Hi,
I downloaded the SDK and the latest EBF for SMP3.
Opening the AgentryToolkit folder I found
OpenUI-app.agxz
OpenUIPlayersDB.linq
First of all there is no readme and the documentation does not specify (or it is very well hidden? ) the steps to get this very sample project working.
However i hacked around and have done the following:
Created DB on the server and ran the OpenUIPlayersDB.lonq script to create the database
I had to edit the script to remove the comments around the create table statements...
I also had to rename the Table name because it did not match what was in the agentry project for the Step GetPlayers SQL definition.
Created an ODBC connection mapping to the database
Changed the System Connections name in the agentry project from Northwind to the one i specified for ODBC
Created an Agentry app on SMP3 cockpit + configured backend + Autentication
Restarted the server
Added the certificate of my server on my android device
Checked the "I am here" status page of the app - OK
When i start the Agentry client form my Android device, this is what happens

Essential Linux Apps For A Computer Science Student

Yo all,
I'm studying CS at Cardiff Uni (Wales). Pretty shat, but that's besides the point. What I'm wondering is, are there any other CS students who use linux for doing work, and if so, what apps do you use?
For example, our labs have things like Matlab and Mathematica, I'm not sure if there are any non-license equivalents. I need software for mathematics/graphs, development tools for HTML (any WYSIWYG?), Java, PHP, maybe Perl.
Atm I'm using Bluefish for editing web stuff, and Jedit for Java, tho it tends to bugger up sometimes and I lose keyboard functionality.
If anyone has any suggestions for editors, IDEs, generally useful stuff, I'd be interested to know.

try TeXmacs (GUI) and Octave. Octave has the same syntax with Matlab and does a good job. [no toolboxes though]. You can find it in ArchLinux. Also SciGraphica (a tu repo) is nice, R (mostly statistics), Rpy (via python), and of course PYTHON as a calculator and much more.

Bluefish is nice, if you want GUI, try nvu (nvu.com). It's Open Source.
I don't know Jedit and what you lose. There are TONS of JAVA Editors, also you can run eclipse (and with the new VE it rocks)
If anyone has any suggestions for editors, IDEs, generally useful stuff, I'd be interested to know.

Linux app builder hangs with daqmxbase 1.5.0-f2

Having a problem building apps on linux using daqmxbase 1.5.
Test machines are:
A fresh installation of Suse 9.2 (kernel 2.6.8) on a Dell SC420 to which I added Labview 7.1, Appbuilder and daqmxbase 1.5.0-f2. Building our app fails on the "Copying files to application" part - the progress bar hangs at about 40% complete. The Labview windows become unresponsive, disk i/o stops and the process has to be killed.
I tried building some of the NI examples to pin down a possible issue with our vi but the same thing seems to happen with any example that has a daq component.
Normalize Waveform example - builds and runs fine
Signal generation and processing example - builds and runs fine
Our app - hangs
USB-6008/9 Interactive Control Panel - hangs
Count digital events buffered continuous ext clk example - hangs
In case there was an issue with Suse or 2.6.8 I tried a fresh install of Redhat 9 (2.4.20) on a different box, added labview, appbuilder, daqmxbase 1.5 and the same thing happens - the builder hangs.
Figuring that the builder might need some hardware in order to build an app properly I also gave it a shot with a USB 6009 plugged in - same result.
Being new to labview I'm unsure whether there are any specific log files I can provide that will help track down this problem - /var/log/messages has nothing.
Any ideas?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Labview, app builder and daqmxbase in various sequences. I've even reinstalled the entire Suse 9.2 OS and played with various grub and BIOS options. I've tried with the vanilla OS install and after applying the available patches through YaST.
I should point out that the app runs fine in Labview itself and compiles without errors on Windows.
There were no errors reported when installing Labview or daqmxbase and nothing in the system log.
I'm at a complete loss. The app builder fails every time, on different boxes, and it 100% reproducable.

Error 10, Duplicate path on building with Linux App Builder

I have used both Mac and Windows App Builder 6.1 with the same files and not had this kind of problem. The VIs I am trying to build are very simple, see attachedd.

Problems compiling and running 9i forms on 10g Linux app server

Hi all,
we are about to move our 9i developed forms application from W2k 9ias RL2 to a 10g linux application server. It seems that we are having very much trouble with the fact that file names are case-sensitive under linux. Our forms are designer-generated and afterwards modified using forms developer under win2k. Therefore these forms have designer plls attached (OFG*.pll). In addition, we use a few custom plls and an object library (*.olb). We managed to compile our fmbs to fmx using f90genm.sh on linux, but getting FRM-40735 and ORA-06508 errors at runtime. FORMS90_PATH in default.env is correct.
We took one fmb to narrow things down. Steps we took on development machine:
- Rename all plls to a format of uppercase name and lowercase extension (e.g. OFGBSL.pll)
- Reattach plls to the form
After that
- Move fmb and plls to linux machine
- compile the fmb without errors
At runtime, we get a ORA-06508 in a trigger that calls CGFK$LKUP_QRY.EXTEND_WHERE. This procedure is located in OFGTEL.pll. OFGTEL.pll has OFGMES.pll attached. We tried to compile OFGTEL.pll, but getting errors due to the fact that table CG_REF_CODES is not present in our db (we don't use it).
Other plls like OFGBSL.pll and our custom pll work well (proved by debugging).
Can anybody give us some hints or step-by-step instructions on how to move our application to linux, especially how to make OFGTEL.pll usable?

i think the unix .pll and Win .pll are not the same

[iPhone SDK] Multiple Apps and App ID nightmare

Maybe I don't understand this quite well or there's something wrong with Apple's Documentation.
I've setup a single App ID using an asterisk for all my apps: "com.me.*" and the resulting App ID is something like: "##########.com.me.*"
I've used this on two of my projects. When I try installing the two projects onto my iPhone, it uninstalls the previous app before installing the other! How can I have both Apps on my iPhone at the same time?
The "Organizer" window conveniently uninstalls the first app and always only shows a single app in the list.
What am I doing wrong?

I would make sure that you did not set this app id in XCode. On the Developer Portal --> App IDs --> Manage tab it says:
"You are not required to enter your App ID into your Xcode project. Xcode will incorporate the App ID automatically."
I think you need a * at the end of your app id as well in the App ID configuration in the Developer Portal. You should have something like: 9AK2T6Z3YE.com.somecompanyorname.*
I believe you would enter in "com.somecompanyorname.*" in the second input box when creating an app id.

[iPhone SDK] Trial App with Activation Key?

Hi,
Is there a concept of 'Trial' in these iPhone Apps? Ideally I'd like Trial functionality for my app but then allow users to buy the Full app from AppStore.
How would I go about doing this? Or will I need to develop two apps, one trial and one full? Thanks

Seems like a no brainer, for sure. But you can't right now.
Best bet is to link to a QuickTime video. I've seen some people with a free/paid version as well in the Store.
I don't think Apple quite understands this business, but hopefully they will catch on.
