SDL_LRS.FIND_MEASURE returns 0 instead of correct value on 10.2.0.4

Hi folks,
This may be bug 8491356 as discussed here
SDO_LRS.FIND_MEASURE reports bad negative measure on 10.2.0.4
but it seems different.
I have an two-point LRS linestring running from 100 to 95.32934. I have a point that is very much closest to the 100 measure.
SDO_LRS.FIND_MEASURE reports zero on 10.2.0.4 but reports 100 on 11.2.0.1.
Jack Wang suggested dealing with 8491356 by basically moving the bad results back to the nearest endpoint. However in this case that approach would grab the wrong end of the string. Is there a way to better understand this bug to work around it or is a backport the only reliable approach? We are shooting to upgrade to 11gR2 before the end of premier support in July so getting folks to deal with 10g problems that are already fixed on 11gR2 is troublesome right now.
Thanks!
Paul

Hi Paul,
The bug you reported on 10204 is bug-6511995. It is fixed in 11gR2.
To fix the bug in 10204, you need to file a BLR and request a patch on 10204 for your platform.
There is no PL/SQL workarounds as the fix is in the server code.
The cause of the bug was due to the acos function in the math library returning NAN (not a number).
Thanks,
jack

  • Function in where clause is executed and returns null instead a valid value

    Hi all
    i have a strange problem.
    There is a access-application where i have a pass-through-sql.
    This sql is fetching a foreign exchange rate from a history table which holds this rates for every day and i'm going to fetch the rate for the last day of the last month.
    Example of the fraction which does not work and which i executed directly on the DB, Oracle 11.2.0.3.0:
    select val
    ,last_day(add_months((trunc(sysdate)+3),-1)) tag
    from k.obj_ts_hist th
    where obj_id = 2660
    and eff_date = last_day(add_months((trunc(sysdate)+3),-1))
    --and      eff_date = '01-mar-2013'
    eff_date on table k.obj_ts_hist is defined as date.
    The function last_day in the where clause leads to null for both values in the select (val and tag).
    If i use eff_date = '01-mar-2013' it's all ok, i get the rigth values.
    I tested some combinations of the clause, e.g.
    eff_date = to_date(to_char(last_day(add_months((trunc(sysdate)+3),-1)),'YYYYMMDD'),'YYYYMMDD')
    or
    to_char(eff_date,'YYYYMMDD') = to_char(last_day(add_months((trunc(sysdate)+3),-1)),'YYYYMMDD') , etc., but all of them do not work.
    Also i tested the clause with select ... from dual, e.g.
    select eff_date from
    select last_day(add_months((trunc(sysdate)+3),-1)) eff_date from dual
    where eff_date = last_day(add_months((trunc(sysdate)+3),-1))
    This work's !
    A cross check on Oracle 9.2.0.8.0: it works as expected !
    Thanks in advance for your effort.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Your question is not clear, are you saying the values in the messageChoiceBean is not displayed properly. As far as I can see from the definition the poplist picks the values from a lookup(Yes, No) values and has a PPR action associated with it. Did you check what this method handleNewLocationFlagChange is doing in the AM ?

  • NSV w/RT FIFO Read does not return correct value

    I have a cRIO which is hosting a NSV w/ RT FIFO enabled.  I can observe its value in the DSM.
    I have a LabVIEW exe that reads this NSV with a SV node on the diagram.  This read value is incorrect.
    If a run the same vi from the development environment then the correct value is read.  If I remove the RT FIFO option then
    the exe version will work correctly.  According to the NI SV white paper, each reader of a NSV w RT FIFO recieves its own
    client side buffer so there should not be any interference.  It should be mentioned that I am also creating a SV reference to this same NSV on the cRIO
    for read only use.

    Hello,
    Have you tried using a Network Published shared variable to communicate between the host and target? This architecture would use a Network Published Shared Variable in a normal priority loop to pass data to a Single Process RT FIFO enabled shared variable on the target to move data to the time critical loop. Is the cRIO that you are accessing the only one present on the network? Also,. if you slow down your loop speeds, do you get correct values?

  • Drill Down are not giving correct values

    Hi
    We created sales Order values as a character and putting them in Rows and populating data by writing update rule. We created variables on calendar month in order to choose specific period of data in the query. For example if we need 02/2008 to 0/42008 which gives two months of data. When I drill down on Sales Order or billing document on the report it’s not giving variable interval data instead it’s pulling all the sales orders and billing documents in the Cube. With out drilling down the values are showing OK.  If I restrict with same period in the cube it's giving correct values
    Please let us know if you have any ideas.
    Thanks

    Aah, I guessed it correctly!
    Remove the local var of the Stop button & place the terminal itself inside the inner while loop & directly wire it to the conditional terminal of the outer while loop.

  • Problem to get Correct Value for Message Id in XI (Inbound channel)

    Hi Experts
    I have XI scenario  i.e. SOAP to RFC.
    I am calling RFC and getting Response which contais Messageid Field(Raw Data).
    But while getting Response in Inbound Channel ,I ma getting Junk Value For Message Id.
    In RFC Data element for Message id is SXMSMGUID.(data tpe Raw No Of character 16 and Output Length 32)
    I am accessing some RFC functions from XI which return parameters in the RAW format.[RAW: Uninterpreted byte string.]
    For example: If I execute a RFC from the abap system (using transaction se37), one of the results is "5ECD6F4D6C6E3242921025FE74AC5153"
    When  I call the RFC from XI, response for same  parameters is "Xs1vTWxuMkKSECX+dKxRUw==".
    Is there any way to get RAW data in correct Format?
    when i import RFc in XI it's data type becomes xsd:base64Binary.
    I created one customized data element having data type RAW (32 length) and even Character(32-50 length)
    In this case RFC gives correct value but when Sceanaro runs in XI,it get Wrong data in XI Inbound channel.
    Also disturbed value and place of other Fields.
    Thanks in advance .

  • Retrieve correct value for SelectOneChoice

    Does anyone know how to retrieve the correct value in a SelectOneChoice for an inline table? What should I use to get the value of a selectOneChoice column? for example "#{row.CodeId}" does not return the correct value, since the column is not in the parent table, so I use the <af:selectOneChoice value="#{detailRow.CodeId}" ... it doesn't work. It retrieve the correct value in a text format and lose the dropdown list style
    This is what I've used to do the binding:
    <af:selectOneChoice value="#{detailRow.CodeId}"
    label="Code ID"
    id="selectOneChoice1"
    autoSubmit="true"
    valuePassThru="true">
    <af:forEach var="li"
    items="#{bindings.codeLookupVO1.rangeSet}">
    <af:selectItem value="#{li.CodeId}"
    label="#{li.CodeText}"/>
    </af:forEach>
    </af:selectOneChoice>
    Plus I have done the table binding for the codeLookupVO and created an iterator for it too.
    Does anyone know what should I use to get the correct value for the row in the detailStamp ?
    I use JDEV 10.1.3.3 & ADF & BC
    Your help is greatly appreciated... There are many listing in regards to SelectOneChoice for single table, but I have not seen anything related to an inline table selectOneChoice... Can one of you expert help and guide me to the correct path!
    Thanks
    Sara

    usually web service call process one row or one message, hence the default value is set to less than a min, since its processing is not expected to take more than that
    the affect of increaing the value to a higher number is the Engine will wait for Max that amount of time for the response to come back in a ideal situation it may not take that long, but if there is any problem on the server side like application crash or for some reason the response was not sent back to the engine, then engine will wait for that much amount of time and then timeout. It will hang
    you might have seen this with Designer if you configure Adapter Datastore and if Adapter process crashes, the Desginer hangs, since the timeout value is set to 3 hrs, so you may have to think of trouble shooting such situation
    what is the DS version, I think this value is exposed in UI, available at Design time

  • Stock Ledger Report in Day Wise not giving correct values for Opening Stock

    Dear Experts,
    I m working on Sock ledger report to give the day wise data.
    since yesterdays closing Stock will become opening stock of today,
    To get Opening Stock,
    I have restricted the stock key figure with 2 variables on calday
                                  (DATE FROM var with <=(Lessthan or equal to) and offset -1
                                   DATE TO      var with <=(Lessthan or equal to) and offset -1)
    To get Closing Stock,
    I have restricted the Stock key figure with 2 variables on calday
                                  (DATE FROM var with <=(Lessthan or equal to)
                                   DATE TO      var with <=(Lessthan or equal to) )
    But in the output Opening stock values are not coming correctly and for given range of dates,
    for last date, opening stock is showing as Zero.
    Could you please tell me how can I achieve the correct values for opening stock.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Arjun,
    Seems like you are making it more complicated. What is your selection screen criteria?
    Ideally you should only use the offset.
    You will have say Calday in rows and stock in Column
    ____________Opening Stock_____________Closing Stock
    01/06/2009___(Closing stock of 31/05/2009)_(Stock of 01/06/2009)
    02/06/2009___(Closing stock of 01/06/2009)_(Stock of 02/06/2009)
    03/06/2009___(Closing stock of 02/06/2009)_(Stock of 03/06/2009)
    So, from above scenario, create one RKFs and include Calday in it. Create a replacement path variable on calday and apply the offset as -1.
    So, your Opening Stock will be calculated by closign stock of previous day.

  • How to get the XML TAG name itself instead of TAG value

    Hi All,
    I have a question here
    I want to retrieve the XML tag from a XML file instead of its value.
    Example:
    <item>Colgate</item>
    Now I want to retrieve "item" as output from XPath expression, I dont want its value as "colgate"
    How to do that...?
    Thanks
    -Praveen

    You can do this with an axes XPatch expression:
    child::node()/name()

  • Text Box issue - displays XML tag instead of the value in EBS

    I need to use a textbox (or a autoshape with text) to place a data element in a specific position on the page in an RTF template. I tried using tables and it didn't help. This layout needs some elements to be placed at specific location and using an autoshape or a text box is easy. When I preview the pdf output on my desktop, it works fine. Once I upload the template into EBS XML Publisher, the value in the text box shows up as an XML Tag instead of the value in that tag. The same XML data when loaded and previewed locally shows the data instead of the tag.
    Any thoughts on this? Is there a patch or something we might need for this in EBS?
    Thanks,
    Vinay

    Thanks Tim for the quick response.
    Yes - the versions are same. Also, I tried giving the complete path. The issue is that it is not even reading the text in the text box as an XML tag. It seems to think the whole text box is an object and hence just display that text as is. If it was reading and not able to resolve it, I guess it would have displayed blank (and not the tag as is). Again as I mentioned it works fine in local preview on my machine.

  • Cell formulas stop reporting correct values. Numbers 3.5.

    10.10
    Numbers 3.5
    In the same table:
    I have a cell (say #1) with a number value entered say 10.40.
    I have another cell (say cell #2) that is set to equal that cell's value.
    This works and cell 2 reports the correct value of cell 1.
    But once every 10 or so restarts cell 2 stops reporting cell 1's value correctly.
    It reports the previous value after I change Cell 1's value.
    Sometimes deleting cell 2's reference and re-entering it works.
    Other times it just continues to report cell 1's previous value.
    Getting cell 2 to report the current value of cell 1 can be a chore.
    Other cells on the same sheet with more complicated formulas also stop reporting the correct values.
    Many references are for cells in other tables on the same sheet.
    I can spend 30-45 minutes correcting the mess every 10 or so restarts.
    Anyone else have this issue?
    Any suggestions welcome.
    Thanks   ...   Ken

    Nothing like that here.  Have you tried deleting Numbers 3.5 (go to LaunchPad, hold down the mouse button until the icons quiver, and click the x by the Numbers icon) and re-downloading from the Mac App Store?  Also have you tried shutting down and restarting your Mac?

  • Displaying the current users information instead of the value of the person who completed the form in the first place.

    I found this fantatic post regarding querying the user profile service
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/anneste/archive/2011/11/02/how-to-create-an-infopath-form-to-auto-populate-data-in-sharepoint-2010.aspx?pi47623=2#comments
    However i have an issue whenever the form is opened again either to view or edit, it displays the current users information
    instead of the value of the person who completed the form in the first place.
    Please help me, I'm turning more grey each minute

    I think it is how the current user information is stored based on your logic.
    You might be quering current value again when loading the form (Form load Rule).
    you have to tweak your logic, after the user submits the form you can set the username to the one who saved it.
    or in form load, write a logic to see if the form was not saved before and then query the username( by using internal field like "formstatue")
    Hope this helps!

  • IWDDropDownByKey - Key is shown instead of the value in View

    Hi,
    we found some strange behaviour when we dynamically generate some IWDDropDownByKey UI-Elements in an IWDTransparentContainer. In IExplorer and Firefox all data looks well. The values in the IWDDropDownByKey-Elements are shown as expected.
    In one case with Internet Explorer 7 (and only on one Client-PC) we have an issue, that instead of the value (normal text) the key is shown in the dropdown-field in the view!
    Do you know about some bugs regarding to the IWDDropDownByKey-Element with IExplorer 7?

  • How to filter certificate templates in Certificate Authority snap-in with the correct values

    How to filter certificate templates in Certificate Authority snap-in with the correct values
    I have a 2012 R2 server running Microsoft Certificate Authority snap-in.
    I want to do a filter on a specific Certificate Template which i know exists in the 'Issued Certificates' folder.
    All the documentation i can find seems to suggest i copy the certificate name and use this in the View Filter.
    1). I add the 'Certificate Template' option into the Field drop-down.
    2). I leave the Operation as the '=' symbol
    3). I paste in just the name of the template in question. for example: 'my computers'
    The search results always come back blank 'There are no items to show in this view.' even when i know there are many instances of this template. I've tried on a win 2008 server and same issue.
    Is there a correct value to enter for the Certificate Template name?
    Can this be done easier using certutil commands?
    When i run the certutil tool i can confirm i have several issued templates. Certutil -catemplates -v > c:\mytemplate_log.csv
    Anybody know what i'm doing wrong?
    I seem to be getting nowhere with this one.

    > But its important you are using the template name, not the display name
    this is incorrect. OIDs are mapped to *display name*, not common name (it is true for all templates except Machine template). That is, in order to translate template name to a corresponding OID, you need to use certificate template's display name. And, IIRC,
    template name in the filter can be used only for V1 templates. For V2 and higher, OID must be used.
