Search Field Overlapping on the field label

Hello All,
I have created a Custom Component With a Search Field when I try to resize the window I see that the search field is overlapping on the Label. I have used the configuration Tab to place the field in the view.

Trying to get the label of a search field

Hello,
We are putting in custom validations around some of our searches in the ON_SEARCH methods of BSP views. When displaying an error for a search field entry we want the error to say what field the error is for. We don't want to display the technical field name but rather the field label on the view. In debug, I can see that I want to retrieve the contents in me->typed_context->search->view_descriptor->label_buffer and load into a table of type bsp_dlcs_field. Struggling to get a syntax that will generate, much less work. Any suggestions or code snipets are appreciated.

did you try something like from any view controller class method?
DATA lr_view_descr    TYPE REF TO if_bsp_dlc_view_descriptor.
lr_view_descr = configuration_descr->get_property_descriptor( ).
lr_view_descr->get_field_label(
    exporting
        IV_ELEMENT_ID = your element id
        iv_context_node = your context node
    receiving
       rv_result = label string ).

how do i have subsequent fields label and values move down the page dynamicly...
the field in question "can grow" and can become quite big...overlaping the content of the fileds below...how can i make the fields below this large field move dyanmically so there is no overlap?

if it is the same field and it is set to can grow you just need to make sure you put space between by inserting a section below

Set a field label by conditions, in a Search Query

Dear all ADF buddies,
Can I set a field label by conditions? Say: if UserRole=A then Label = A; else Label = B;
The problem is those field labels are not attribute of JSP, they are inside a Search Query. Thus the label text are defined in the table EO, which I cant find any place in JDeveloper to set custom expression.
Any one know how?

Hi Frank, thank you for replying.
Tried to amend the ViewRowImpl.java and added those related functions. It didn't get called while rendering the Search Query fields, but only after.
Any way to do this on the EO side? I think it s more likely that the Search Query dialog is reading label value directly from the EO
I found there are AttributeDefImpl or AttributeHints in the EntityImpl.java. Are there examples to show how to override these classes?

In portal after clicking the search field of table UI popup is not coming

Hi Experts,
I have a problem in portal . In "RecordWorkingTime" when I select any search field of this table Ui it is refreshing for unlimited time period and the pop up window is not coming .
Can you suggest me any possible solution for this strange problem ?

In addition to this, we also put the trace on the application. During the trace analysis we found that the RFC: HRXSS_CAT_WD_F4_SELFLD_DEFAULT doesn't seem to get called.

Order value fields by field label in the profitability analysis document

Check in KE4M whether sd condition type FKLMG is mapped corresponding value field in COPA.As you are getting the value for other company codes, this setting should be there.
You can also try checking simulation of billing document transfer through KE4ST. Check the details analysis

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Post the messages from the time of the last crash, if any — the text, please, not a screenshot.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.

Yes, you can do something like that. What you would do is create a button for each image and then hide them. When I do this type of thing I place all of the buttons on a template page and then hide the template.
You can then use JavaScript to copy the icon from any of the hidden buttons to the main button that you've set up to display the image. For example, suppose you set up 10 buttons named b1, b2, b3, ...b10. The code to copy the icon from one of them to the button used to display the image (b0) would be something like this:

When there was support for Google Toolbar, I was able to do this; now, whenever I want to search for something, I have to open a new tab to do it, and cut-and-paste my search into the search field in the new tab. I used to be able to highlight, drag, and drop something into the search field and have it automatically open in a new tab. This is enough for me to switch to Chrome . . .

Google decided that they will no longer produce the Google Toolbar for Firefox 5 and newer version. Opening a new tab in Firefox 16.0.1 the focus is on the address bar but then moves to the search field

When I open a new tab in Firefox 16.0.1 the focus is on the address bar for a second or so then the focus moves to the search input field. If I start typing something the first character fills in the address bar then the rest is typed into the search field.
How do I get the focus to remain in the address bar as per previous versions please?

Rename the Field Label in the sales order application.

Hi,
          Please suggest me how to rename one of the field name in the sales order application.
        I have add a new field called YOUR_REF_SHIP and simultaneously have to rename it from your reference to Carrier Account No. this field is available in the filed group SLO_DETAILS_GENERAL1.
         This field is located in the General data tab of the sales order application.
I have created the Text Key in the Define Interface Texts and used the same text key in the Rename Field Label, but it is not working.
and i dont want to change it with the CMOD transaction.
Please suggest me where i have went wrong.

Hello Anil,
The field groups are to be regenerated.
However, I have done a similar thing and in the past, the layout generation helped me. In the recent example, the name is not reflected as per the interface text.
Let me know if you find anything on this.
