Search Help based on the slected Customer in IUICM/Hitlistaccount view.

Hi Experts,
I have been asked by a customer to provide F4 help for ID_TYPE in IUICMD/DetailAccount to be displayed based on the selected BP in IUICMD/HitlistAccount. There are two types of BP's (Organization & Person) displayed in IUICMD/HitlistAccount.
When i select a BP, either a organization or a person, in IUICMD/HitlistAccount corresponding search help ( BUPA_IDTYPE_PRS for person & BUPA_IDTYPE_ORG for Organization ) be displayed in ID_TYPE Input help in IUICMD/DetailAccount. I have already provided input help using V_GETTER Methods. Now i want to seggregate input help based on selected BP.
Kindly let me know how it can be achieved and which methods needs to be modified.

I have looked at the WikiI. It descripes ways of providing value help for Category Depending on the value help for Main category. I am not sure whether this scenario explained for a single view or two differenent views containing Main Category & Category.
In my case, I need to provide value help for ID_TYPE in IUICMD/DetailAccount view depending on the selected Business Partner (Either Person or Organization) from IUICMD/HitlistAccount view. For Persons we have BUPA_IDTYPE_PRS search help & for Organization we have BUPA_IDTYPE_ORG search help.
Hope you understand my requirement better and you have some feedback for me.

In my Requirement if the user clicks on the Material Number Search help(eg in ME51N - T.code: Material )
It will shown a additional Search help along with the existing one.
That search help would have input parameter fields as Material Number , Material Group , Material description , Plant and storage location.
The output screen has to display the Available Quantity for the input material, plant and storage location.
The available quantity has to calculated from various Tables like mard , mssq etc.
My question is how to display the available quantity in the search help screen, i tried with search help exit but not successful.
I am displaying the remaining fields(except available quantity) using database view from different tables like Mara , Mard ,Makt.
where to write the Logic for the Available Quantity to display it in search help.

if this search help is collective then you could delete standard single (SAP allows maintain collective search help with out object key registration) one and insert custom search help which has the same structure plus additional field.

1. Create a search help using SE11.
2. Include this search help in the field of table in SE11. There is a tab in the table defination where you can specify the search help.
Even you can specify search help at data element level, screen field level.

How to display help based on the Jlabel description

Hi all,
I try to display help based on the Jlabel description. When a user click on the help button, I want to use the label description to match correct help topic and display on the screen. I have following code as Field-level help but it returns error. Looks like I cannot use jLabel1.gettext() dynamically. Please let me know if you have any idea!

Creating select option with the search help based on other select option

Hi,
I have displayed a selection screen with two select options S1 and S2.
My requirement is that the values in the search help of S2 should get filled based on the values selected in S1.
Note: User has option to select multiple values in S1.
Does anybody know how to implement this?

I'm getting fairly tired of seeing this completely incorrect information on this forum. As stated before and already found out by this poster, you can map input and output values between multiple data dictionary search helps. You do NOT have to resort to using OVS for this option.

Search help is populating the input field with wrong data

Hi Guys,
I have created a ZCITY table for which has below 2 field
ZZCITY (Code ) (5 Char) u2013 Key field
ZZNAME (City Name ) (40 Character)
I have added a custom field ZZCITY & ZZNAME in CI_CATSDB. Funtional guy has configured to make ZZNAME as VISIBLE and ZZCITY is HIDDEN on CAT2 screen in Data Entry area.
I created search help on table ZCITY with export parameters as ZZCITY and ZZNAME.
In SE11, I have mapped the export parameters with CI_CATSDB
Now in tcode CAT2, when I press F4 on City Name field, the list is displayed with City code and City names. And when I select any city code, the ZZNAME is populated by City code instead of City name.
I want that City Name should be populated in ZZNAME and City Code should be populated in hidden field ZZCITY.
Please tell me how I can fix this problem.

Try selecting the Improting Check box aswell. if a screen field is hidden or display mode we can not use F4 help for that field.
you can also take the help of DYNP_READ_VALUES to get the selected value before PAI
Check whats happening in Debug.

F4 help based on the records in the same column

Dear All
its an fantastic blog....i have one different question for u....n u can check the below..
is it possible to get F4 functionality for a record in column in ALV based on the first 3 records of the same column....
material vendor shipping contract
2 4 6 -

3 2 4 6(f4 help)
the contract value should only come based on the first 3 records of the coulumn and it shouldnt show any other value...other than combination values of first 3 records.....

Search Help screen in the BSP

Hi,
Our requirement is to provide the search help for a field. The Search help pop up should have three input fields 'UserId', 'First Name' and 'Last Name'. The pop up should not be table. In the pop up, we can give some input value and based on that the relevant entry needs to be fetched, then we need to choose that entry. That chosen entry should be moved to our input screen.

2) In Table Zsales , I want to create search help only PS records from ZGROUPS table
3) In Table ZPSG, I want to create search help only PSG records from table ZGROUPS
is it possible to create search help from One Master Table(ZGROUPS) table to other tables based on conditions.
Please help me.

F4 help based on the Value in other field

I have a requirement in which there are two fields say field1 and field 2 in an ALV grid (in which new data can be entered). The F4 help of field 2 should be based on the value the user enters on field1.I have checked out the BC_ALV* programs but there are no clear help .
I have tried setting the parameter id of the first field value and then get that parameter id on_f4 event of the second field.But where can i set the parameter id of the first field . on_f4 of first field does not have its value and there is no event after_f4 . There is a parameter e_afterf4 in data change event but to tirgger that there shud be some event right.
Moreover If at all i get the first field value , i can use FM F4_int_table_value_request to show the refined f4 in field 2 . But I am passing the a field symbol table in my grids set table for first display . what can i pass as parameters here to the FM F4_int_table_value_request?

Wep app search result show on the same product page(product large view).

I tried the web app search result show on the same product page.
e.g checking the postcode which built as web app on the product page, to check availability to ship the user's area.
so the result show on the same page(doesn't necessary to lose the product page), however the web app result doesn't show on the same product page.
There is only way i know is to link another page.
Anyone has done?

I have done something similar with simple jquery, by loading the results page within a div placed inside the details template.
By doing this I solved all my needs. In your case will work too as long as you only need to show information.

How to search Products based on content of Custom 1 and Custom 2 fields

I have a client who has only 6 products but each product has 30 colour and 6 size variations (for each colour of each prdouct) thus creating 1080 separate prdoucts which all need to be sold be individual product codes and with managing inventory levels.
What we want to do is to give users a search facility that once they select the main product they can choose the colour and the size (as would be set in the custom 1 and custom 2 fields to present the desired product for purchase.
Anyone got any idea whether this is possible in BC and if so how to achieve this?
Whilst not for the clothing idnustry this requirement is common for any busienss in that industry so a solution would be very appealing tomany people I am sure.

I don't know how you'd implement that. There's no facility that will provide you with a search capability for a particular product, so if you're looking at the detail view of a product you can narrow it down somehow to a particular colour. By the way, how do you imagine this to work? Would it be a keyword search for colour?
Out of the box you can only group those products, since your require inventory(otherwise you'd probably use attributes), and that would render the dropdown that contains all of the other products in that group and the customer would select the colour they want from the dropdown.

Individually picking apps in itunes each time is time-consuming so I was wondering if there was a way to associate tags or user-assigned keywords to apps so they could be filtered/ searched to select the ones I want.

In order to offer a meaningful input help for as many screen fields as possible, the R/3 System uses a number of mechanisms. If there is more than one such mechanism available for a field, the one that is furthest left or at the top of the above hierarchy is used.
In addition to the options described above for defining the input help of a field in the ABAP Dictionary, you can also define it in the screen field. The disadvantage, however, is that there is no automatic reuse.
With the screen event POV, you can program the input help of a field by yourself. You can adjust the design of the help to the standard help using the function modules F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST or F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST. However, you should check to see if the part of the input help that you programmed yourself should be implemented as a search help exit instead (see Appendix).
You can also attach a search help to a screen field in the Screen Painter (Module Pool programming). There are some functional restrictions on this kind of attachment as compared with attachment in the Dictionary.
You should no longer use the input checks defined directly in the flow logic of the screen, from which it is also possible to derive input helps.
The function Technical info is offered in the hit list in the menu of the right mouse key. It can be used to find out which of the specified mechanisms is being used.
