Searching for a Documentation Tool for PL SQL Packages

Hi there!
I've got the following problem. Our project contains of many different pl/sql packages and now we want to generate a simple documentation (e.g. the procedure signatures etc.). Is there any tool, which is able to generate such a documentation automatically, like the javadoc tool in Java???
kind regards, Ingo

  • Documentation Tool for Querys

    Hello All!
Has anyone a good recommendation for a docu tool for querys?
We have to document all our productiv querys and that in a really short time.
Hope that anyone has a good recommendation.
    Regards
    Mirjam

If you are looking for any readymade tool then I am not aware of any. But as suggested, you should use Metadata repository to get the complete and fast access to all the query details. The only disadvantage is, you will not be able to know RKF, CKF, Selection and Formula definitions. For that you will have to look into Query desginer only.
    Wishing you happy documentation

  • Searching for a Reporting Tool for Oracle 11g

    Hello,
I have created several OLAP-Cubes with the Analytic Workspace 11.1.0.7.0B on the Oracle Database 11g. Now I need a Tool for Creating some Reporting. I have Oracle BI Spreadsheet Add-In Version 10.1.2.3 for Microsoft Excel. I have installed it and I have a Connection to the Database. But on the Query-Assistent, I can't see my Measures and Dimensions. I guess it is because of the Version.
    My Questions are:
    - Is there any BI Spreadsheet in Version 11?
    - Is there any other Reporting-Possibility with another Tool for Oracle 11g? I couldn't find anything yet.
I am very happy, if there is anyone who can answer my questions.

I have no knowledge of BI publisher but if you install OBIEE then you will have option to install BI publisher also. You can download OBIEE from here.
After installation you can look at following post to see the set up required to access olap cubes.

  • Syntax for calling html page in PL/SQL package

    Hi,

I have already create html page in pl/sql package code and it's works fine.
Now create better html page (interface design) and stored on server. I would like to call that stored html page in my pl/sql package.
What is syntax for calling html page in PL/SQL or could you suggest me some literature.

  • Support for Creating Web Service from pl/sql package in JDeveloper 11

We have been creating all of our web services from pl/sql packages in our Oracle database using JDeveloper 10.1.3.1. I understand that this capability is not supported in Jdev 11. We have been mandated to either move up to JDeveloper 11, or consider switching to eclipse, or even VS2008 and run .NET services from IIS. I have seen work-around solutions using TopLink and Jdev 11. Are there plans to revive this feature in the near future? We're now looking at switching to .NET since we could scrap our OAS instances and use IIS to publish web services. The only reason we were sticking with Oracle was the ease in converting all our existing package to web services with Jdev.
Is anyone else in the same situation. If so, what solutions are you considering?

    Hi,
there are a lot of option to make plsql web services .
First you can stay with jdev 10.1.3
    Use the xmldb servlets
use jdev 11g tp4 to create plsql ws and upgrade to jdev 11g production
And I think in the next release of jdev it will be back , there are more options which disappeared like the adf bc sdo ws or jmx datacontrol etc.
    thanks Edwin

  • Searching for a deployment tool for Developer Applications

hey ladies & gentlemen.....I wish that I should've a single setup.exe file to install my appliation developed in Oracle Developer,in addition it should also install the Oracle Database after copying the runtime application files. In this way I wish to facilitate my clients so that they should not call me to re-install the client application if he needs to reinstall the application after a system or windows crash recovery,n he should perform it just like installing another appliation like MS-Office etc. although I know that installing the Oracle Database is a very technical matter, yet I'm looking to fulfill my wish:).thanx.

You can't deploy a Forms application as an .exe. You need to install the runtime and then all the FMX/PLL/MMX files. There are tools that may help you package this up but not to a .exe file - this is why a web deployed application has advantages over client/server.

  • Looking For Actual 'Sync' Tool For Multiple Computers

When I saw that syncing music via the iPod between computers was a new feature, I was Very Excited. I have music on my home machine and on my work machine. Each machine has about 3000 songs, with roughly 70% overlap on content, and only about 10% purchased through the iTunes Music Store. My iPod only gets synced to my home machine because of this.
I was hoping that this new feature would, in fact, synchronize the libraries of both machines into one cohesive library.
Sadly, this is not the case.
Any suggestions for combining both libraries into one *that don't require several hours of manual transfer* are welcome. Barring that, I guess I'll have to do the syncing myself.
    Thanks!

I know I can “roll my own” and design it from the ground up

I am not familiar with any product that has functionality to track 'source' metadata at the column level. But I have helped architect and implement several data warehousing ETL systems that had to track the source of data for Sarbanes-Oxley, financial and auditing purposes.
All of these tracking mechnisms involved ETL of record-level data from a source system to staging tables to hold the data. The staging tables had columns to indicate the data source, whether it had been cleansed or not and what you refer to as 'confidence level'. This tracking and audit information was not carried forward into the production tables but was maintained securely for auditing purposes to prove what data and values had been originally transferred from source to target.
Once data is in the production system the original source of the data was no longer tracked since that data could be modified by app users or batch processes.
Your design will need to reflect whether you need to track the changes only within your ETL processes or even after it gets to production. If you are talking about column-by-column audit history then you will may want to look into Oracle's fine-grained access control.

  • Visual tool for trigger development

I am looking for a visual tool for trigger (or PL/SQL) development that includes metadata. It should be a kind of ETL tool but specific for triggers. That would help a lot when documenting triggers, checking for dependencies, data lineage, etc.
Anyone know any tool from Oracle or out there?

How about Oracle's very own SQLDeveloper?

Other option would be TOAD by quest

  • Stand alone tool for 3 way merge [SOLVED]

I'm looking for a standalone tool for a base - contributor - target merge. Use case is: I have old.source, old.patches and new.source. After patching new.source with old.patches there will be rejected.patches. Then I want to do a 3 way merge between (a) old.source patched with accepted patches, (b) old.source patched with all patches and (c) new.source patched with accepted patches.
What's a good tool for that, or (even better) is there a tool supporting the workflow above?
I know that this is part of every version control system, but it seems like an overkill to put things under version control just for this.

kdiff3 looks good, esp. this bit:
Special case: Files with the same name
If all files have the same name but are in different directories, you can reduce typework by specifying the filename only for the first file. E.g.:
       kdiff3 dir1/filename dir2 dir3
plus the fact that they have a whole chapter on recursive directory merges in the documentation. And the fact that they *have* documentation - not a given with KDE apps these days.
    Thanks!

  • Command line tools for xcode mac os x 10.6.8

Will the latest command line tool work for mac os x 10.6.8 also? If yes, I will go ahead and download them.
If no, please help find a download location for command line tools for mac os x 10.6.8.
Also, please let me know if that will support the development of latest ios apps.

developing for "the latest iOS Apps" is supported by the latest X-code tools, which does NOT run under 10.6.8.
Version 3.2.6 will run under 10.6.6 and later.
Version 5.0.1 requires 10.8.4 or later.
Version 6.1.1 (currently the latest) requires 10.9.4 or later.

  • Relational Writeback tools for Planning

    Experts --
Does someone have suggestions for relational writeback tools for planning applications?
We use BPC extensively for analytics and consolidation, but some projects require transactions (e.g. human resources, capital planning).  I need to have a more flexible, dynamic relational component.
Are tools available from Business Objects/SAP that facilitate writeback to tables in a relational environment?
    Thanks...Marv
