Second run Deprciation of only one asset, after additional costs are posted

I ran depriciation in Dec 2010 and now AP has posted more costs retro to Dec 2010 on couple of assets. How do I re-run depreciation on specific assets. Currently, we are using a background job for running depreciation every month.

Execute the depreciation run AFAB in REPEAT mode for the specific asset for Dec 2010. You can do this provided you have not executed depreciation for Jan 2011....
If your Fiscal year is Apr-Mar, then the depreciation for the same will get posted in Jan 2011
If your FY is Jan-Dec, and you have posted dep for Jan 2011, then post unplanned depreciation on the asset...

Changing the Profit Center on aa WBS after actual costs are posted

We are changing the structure of Profit Centers; within this activity, we have to assign some WBS to a new PC: the system issues a warning because some costs are already posted, then allows the modification. After the modification, new postings are linked to the now Profit Center, ok. Now we have the need to change the old Profit Center assignment to the transactions already posted. Is there any report (something like RKEPCR00 for Cost Centers) allowing to change with a mass processing the balances from the old to the new PC?

you can try periodic allocation method of PCA. 4KE1 Tcode. Create distribution cycle. Set up the sender profit center(Old Profit Center) and receiving profit center(New Profit Center). Use variable proportions and receiving tracing factor on reciever as 100% as u intended to transfer whole amont from old to new.

why does fix capitalization work when there is only one space after the period in pages 09? For example: "Turn on 3rd St. After the traffic light." There is only one space after the period in "St." shouldn't it only auto correct after TWO spaces..?? the word After, should be after..

You may also use a noBreak space after the period at the end of the abbreviation.
If I remember well, in such case the capitalization will not apply.

Sending a message to only one peer after NetGroup receive

Hi Folks,
I'm learning stratus and NetGroup to develop a P2P application that shares xml file between thousands of users.
After a search by string over peers the user will receive xml files containing the searched string.
So, see How I think it will work:
1- An initial peer do a search by string over a NetGroup
2 - A second peer receive that broadcasted message from initial peer
3 - The second peer will verify if it has one or more xml files containing that message (search string)
4 - If the second peer find one ore more xml files, a NetStream will be created to send the xml files to the peer who made the search
5 - The initial peer will receive the xml files from all the peers who have xml files containing the search string.
As you can see there are broadcast and Unicast communication (correct me if i'm wrong).
So, using Stratus and NetGroup is necessary to create a NetStream to send a unicast message as I did above ?

NetStream is the most direct/efficient way to send data directly from one peer to another, without involving any intermediaries. your approach seems sound.

Cisco Profile 52/55 Dual - displays video on only one screen after software upgrade 7.1.4

Hi,
I've upgraded the Profile 52/55 Dual system to TC 7.1.4 and it no longer shows video on both screens during a conference. It displays content on the second screen fine. It worked in version 6 so I wonder if something changed in the software or the endpoint requires some additional configuration.
I've checked settings under Configuration > System Configuration > Video > Monitors and it's set to Dual. I've changed it few times and set it back to Dual but this didn't resolve the issue. I can't see any dual screen option key added under system information but I assume it has a dual screen option hence it's a dual screen system.
Do I need to change any settings?

The system doesn’t have a remote control as such, it’s an MX700 so it has the 10inch touch panel, I had some engineers onsite attempting to bring the self-view image up using the panel but the only image that they managed to retrieve was a self-view PIP on the main image.
If I change the self-view settings in the configuration nothing appears to happen on the codec, the second monitor will only display the presentation, it’s as if the system is stuck in dual screen presentation only, even though when I set the system to dual screen, flick it back to single screen, set it to dual screen, back to the same situation no image unless there is a presentation being sent.
I have ensured that these settings are forced on the system

But no matter what I do I am unable to get the behaviour that I expect, this is why I have posted on this forum, I seem to think that the problem may be related to a software bug, however I am unable to downgrade as that would stop the control panel from working (this system doesn’t have a remote), and I see no mention of a second monitor issue reading the release notes, I have checked the online bugs and cannot find anything there either. so I am wondering if someone in Cisco has any idea as to what is happening here.
I thought about trying to use TC console to see if I could force a layout via this tool / or at least see what layouts are on the system, however the TC console version 6 will not connect to this system (I think this is more firewall related than system, as standard telnet and ssh attempts fail also).
Again I appreciate any and all assistance provided greatly, I am completely baffled as to what is happening here.

Several DB servers but run SSRS on only one or each?

Is it better practice to just turn on SSRS on each instance or designate one server as the primary "report server"? Im tempted to turn on the service on each instance where the DB is located referenced in the report(s).

That depends on your Reporting requirements!
If you enable SSRS on each instance there is admin overhead on managing them.

Security can be maintained easily if for example each department has it's own Reporting Server

Load balancing is available, each group of users has different server specially for them.
On the other hand, If you have a single Report Server it's easier to manage

Capturing only one sample after analog trigger on a PXI4461 in Labview SignalExpress

I capture two waveforms (external excitations) with my PXI446, one on each AI. I use one of them as an analog trigger (rising edge @ some voltage), lets say AI0. I need the value of AI1 at the time (or fixed # of dt's afterwards) when the trigger occurs. I need just that one sample.
(Practically I use the 4461 as sample & hold circuit that has AI1 as an input signal and AI0 as the "sample" signal.)
Currently, I use a "subset and resample" step with a very small dt and it seems that it works but I dont like it.
The procedure above is within a conditional loop that collects 100 of these samples (acquire signal triggers 100 times) and produces a statistic of this ensemble (using the Statistics step).
Is there a better way to do this?

Email messages blank in only one subfolder after Mavericks upgrade

Since upgrading to Mavericks, Mail is working OK except for one very strange thing. I store a number of emails in various Mail subfolders on my Mac, and some of them work, but in one subfolder and its children all mail messages are showing no content. I am not using Gmail so it is not a Gmail issue. I have searched for a solution without success and would appreciate advice. Attached is a screenshot.

Found part of the problem. The blank messages were in a folder called ARCHIVE. When I renamed it, they reappeared. Must have been some issue with inbuilt Archive folders.
But another folder called ACTION still did not come right, even though I tried renaming it. Had to salvage .emlx files from the hard drive, as those were fine.

If I don't have a previous version of an adobe product, but the only ones available of older editions are updates, can I use the update version to install the software?

I've got older systems, ones that can't handle CS6, and a budget too low to purchase a new system and your software even with a student discount. Is there any way to use an update version? I wish that all of the "Creative Suite[s] products [would] continue to be available for sale via ESD on Adobe.com"(Adobe)*, or at least most of them. I understand the need to update, and that the industry is difficult with competitors, but I wish that all of your software versions were aimed towards 32 bit systems too. There are plenty that can keep up with the operating System updates, and I only wish that you would have kept at least CS5 on support instead of shutting it down. So, if you won't accept support of older products, can you help me with this? Or is this beyond any of the software contracts that is in the company's power? I appreciate any assistance in this matter.

You can only buy CS6 and CC. Otherwise you will have to find someone willing to part with his license and run a license transfer. Though, quite frankly this doesn't really make sense. You can buy cheap laptops withe a suitable 64bit version of Windows 7/ 8 for 300 Euros. The money saved could easily be invested in a CC student plan rather than possibly trying to find an overpriced older version with the risk of getting scammed... Otherwise you can use the trials of course, but that's about it.

Can asset be deleted after some transactions are posted and completely depr

Can the asset be deleted if there is any transaction happened this year? The asset is depreciated in august completely. Now, I don't want that to reflect on my system. Please suggest me with some options. I have blocked the asset temporarily. Retirement of asset will serve the purpose?

Please note that to delete assets, those assets must be:
1. Never posted to
2. Must be deactivated.
A delete flag can only be set for deactivated assets that were retired
through a complete retirement or a complete transfer posting, or for new
assets that have not yet been posted to, BUT WERE NOT ENTERED AS OLD
ASSETS DURING THE ASSET DATA TRANSFER FROM A PREVIOUS SYSTEM. These new
assets can also be physically deleted.
If the assets were creatd via a transfer from a legacy system, they may still have values in tables even though you delete transactions
You may only delete an asset via AS06 if the asset does not have any
values.
If the asset has values then you may post a retirement to the asset
and archive the asset.
As per note 1818 says, archiving for Assets Master Data will work for
those assets that are already deactivated or for those assets do not
deactivated but which has never received postings!

I had upgraded to firefox 3.0 years ago and lost my firefox 2.0 bookmarks. How do I retrieve them? I keep getting only one bookmark from the html file.

Years back I had installed Firefox 3.0 (at launch, so not beta) into a separate program folder. After installation, I expected to have my bookmarks saved. Recently I found out my bookmarks were in application data and I found out I had one profile. That meant that my firefox 2.0 bookmarks were replaced.
I read up on the FAQs and it stated that bookmark backups only save the previous 5 days or so, so I don't think they are usable though I have them saved. The bookmarks.html file in my profile shows only one bookmark after importing it into firefox 3.5 and firefox 2.0 (downgraded back to check it out), google chrome, and internet explorer. I still have the bookmarks.bak and bookmarks.html.bak files as well.
A little backstory before I got up to this point because it's a bit convoluted because I thought I could retrieve them like IE favorites which were easy:
1) Switched to Firefox 2.0 from Internet Explorer and got several hundred bookmarks.
2) Got HyperBookmarks add-on which bugged up and replaced my previous bookmarks folder though it stated in FAQs that my original Firefox 2.0 bookmarks were in a separate folder so I didn't worry about it.
3) Upgraded to Firefox 3.0 and it replaced all my bookmarks with nothing in bookmarks list. I thought it was saved because I installed Firefox 3.0 in a separate folder.
4) Retrieved 3.0 Bookmarks and Archived them, but wasn't able to find Firefox 2.0 Bookmarks (original) nor the HyperBK version, except in HyperBk Backups folder.

In the "Edit this Bookmark" window, use the 2nd drop-down button, that is to the right of the "Folder", to open a larger window that will allow more folder to appear. See the sloppy red arrow on the screenshot below.

Security Filter fails when level has only one member

This is Essbase version 9.3. I have a forecast app\db to allow users enter\modify the forecast of the different products. The Product Dimension has the following hierarchy.
All Products
Planner 1
Supplier A
Product_A1
Product_A2Supplier B
Product_B1
Product is the lowest level, level 0, or Gen 4.
I need to allow the "Planner 1" to write only to his products, where the member is "My Scenario" from Scenario Dimension, and where the UDA's for the month is Forecast. The same planner can't write to the "All Products", "Planner" and "Supplier" levels.
I have created the following filter:
None: "All Products"
Read: @IDESCENDANTS("Planner 1")
Write: @REMOVE(@LIST(@DESCENDANTS("Planner 1")),@LIST(@LEVMBRS ("Planner 1", 1))), "My Scenario",@UDA("Time","FORECAST")
Basically, this is the portion most relevant of the filter: @REMOVE(@LIST(@DESCENDANTS("Planner 1")),@LIST(@LEVMBRS ("Planner 1", 1)))
where
@LIST(@DESCENDANTS("Planner 1") = List of descendants members from Planner 1, excluding Planner 1. = "FIRST LIST"
@LIST(@LEVMBRS ("Planner 1", 1)) = List of level 1 members from Product Dimension. = "SECOND LIST"
@REMOVE will remove values or members in the "SECOND LIST" from the "FIRST LIST".
This filter works perfectly but it has a little\big exception...
Based on the example, the filter works fine for Supllier A. Meaning that the user can modifiy the forecast for the products under Supplier A (Product_A1 and Product_A2), and the user can't modify the upper levels, "Supplier A", "Planner 1", "All Products". This is GOOD!
Now. For Supplier B, Essbase will allow write back to the Product_B1, OK. But will also allow write back to Supplier B, the upper level.
So. When the supplier has only one product, Essbase presents this exception that allows write to the upper level. This happens everywhere a supplier has only one product. When there are more than one product per supplier, the filter works as expected.
Is there a missing piece in my filter? Is there a different, better approach to accomplish this?

It's probably an implied share problem. That is, because Supplier B has only one child it is treated as a shared member. You can use the "never share" storage property setting to avoid that problem.

Or if you check the network connection speed when you're in the same room as the hub and it tops out at 54Mbps then you're on wireless G.
You can check the network connection speed by pressing ctrl shift and delete and selecting the network tab.

ITunes repeatedly prompts for computer authorization for only one song

I already tried apple recommended resolutions but unfortunately they were not my resolution. Only one song after purchasing lots of others cannot be played because it asks computer authorization. I'm using windows 7 and itunes is the most recent. Now no one in apple is replying to my email. Did anyone have the similar case like this and solved,, please suggest the solution!

I just solved by myself. I signed on to another computer's itunes and downloaded the song. It looks like no better solution out there. I hope anyone else who encountered the same problem - for the first time and frustrated badly like me - get help from this.
