Javascript function fails in version 3.6.3, but worked in all previous versions
function show_prompt(){
var cost = prompt("Please enter cost amount","");
if (cost!=null && cost!="")
document.getElementById("ncost").value = cost;
document.getElementById("nno").value=1;
else
show_prompt();
This function has caused no problems until i upgraded to firefox 3.6.3. The function fails to set the value of the html element until the function is called again, at which point the value from the first function call is successfully inserted.
This is obviously not workable, so i have had to backgrade to 3.5.9 so that the problem doesnt happen, but this is obviously not a long term solution.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== I upgraded to version 3.6.3Could you link to an example that shows this code in use? From your description, I can't be sure what's happening. (My best guess is that it's prompting you twice for the cost instead of just once)

I set up a registration form for a client that requires SSL and the untrusted connection message is losing me registrants, my client and business though it works with all other browsers. I don't need the info about how individuals can disable it -- obviously that is not going to make my client satisfied.
Can you post a link?
Did you check that all needed intermediate certificates are send?

Every then and now I get this error message while doing a research on google, or switching my search from web to search. Is the problem actually with google or firefox, because when this occurs I simply go to yahoo. It would actually be great if this error message quit showing up, either you guys call google and try to have this fixed or talk to your guys to fix this error. I don't understand why it's showing up when i'm already doing a search and write something else to research.
Thanks for reading this and understanding the frustration

I can get ebay site up but cannot sign in to my personal account
I cannot even get halifax site up
I have already reported 'broken site'
These sites give no bother when using IE but Firefox is my preferred browser (for now anyway)ls -l /var/run/lighttpd/
And how are you spawning the php instances? I don't see that in the daemons array anywhere.
EDIT: It looks like the info in that page is no longer using pre-spawned instances, but lighttpd adaptive-spawn. The documentation has been made inconsistent it looks like.
You will note that with pre-spawned information, the config looks different[1].
You need to do one or the other, not both (eg. choose adaptive-spawn, or pre-spawn..not both).

Firefox says "The Connection was Reset," but internet works in all other browsers
Whenever I open Firefox, it says "The Connection was Reset" on all pages. But, when I open Google Chrome the internet works without problems. I have already tried to change the proxy settings, but that didn't work.
Maybe also do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br>
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

when i run the page , it displays as ${rentABike.storeName}What does the HTML source say? Do you see the <c:out> tag literally in there?
i have incluided all the c.tld and fmt tlds in WEB-INF/lib .. Remove them. They don't belong there. Do not extract the contents of JAR files in there.
and also jstl.jar and standard jar has alos been included there .. That's sufficient. Next to this all you need to do is to declare the JSTL core taglib in the top of the JSP page. -

In FF 37.0 getting secure connection failed connecting to a website. Works fine in previous version. Config parameter version.fallback-limit default setting is 3. In previous version the default setting was 1. Does the setting version.fallback-limit to 3 mean only TLS1.2 is supported. Any help is appreciated.
Secure Connection Failed
The connection to xxxx.xxx.com was interrupted while the page was loading.
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.
Thx,The website may try to fallback to TLS 1.0 in a way that is no longer allowed in current releases or may be using a deprecated cipher suite.
You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location/address bar and use its search bar to locate this pref:
*security.tls.insecure_fallback_hosts
You can double-click the line to modify the pref and add the domain (full domain) to this pref.
If there are already websites (domains) in this list then add a comma and the new domain (no spaces).
You should only see domains separated by a comma in the value column.

We have multiple websites that do not launch now as a result of the recent upgrade from Firefox version 36.04 to version 37.01. We received "Secure Connection Failed" error messages which indicate that the connection was interrupted while the page was loading, and that the page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please explain why this is happening, and if a fix will be issued soon by Mozilla, as everything was operating normally prior to the most recent Firefox upgrade. Alternatively, please identify browser settings that can/should be changed in order for Firefox to access these basic Internet sites (that are completely accessible using other browsers such as IE and Google Chrome). Thank you.

FYI, I work with the original poster. I looked at the suggestions on that page but none were the issue. Then I found this thread:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1056488
And that appears to be the problem we and others are having. -
We host https://www.prereg.net and the recent updates (version 37 and 37.0.1) have caused a "Secure Connection Failed" message to appear. We have contacted our hosting company and our SSL provider (geotrust) and neither of them are able to help with this issue. Can anyone tell us what we might need to alter on our server in order to fix this issue? We have a valid certificate and we have SSL3 and TLS 1.2 enabled.
Thank you very much for your helpThe browser console shows:
<blockquote>This site uses the cipher RC4 for encryption, which is deprecated and insecure.</blockquote>

The page you are trying to view can not be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.unfortunately the fiddler2 issuer in certificates might be a sign of unwanted software present on your pc that is intercepting secure network traffic. please go into the system control panel and uninstall programs like BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard or other software that sounds suspicious and didn't get installed by you intentionally.

[[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]] -
The website comes up fine but "secure connection failed" shows in the space where I'm supposed to put my account number. (I'm prevented from putting my account number in that field.) This computer is running Win 7 Pro. The older version of Firefox on another computer with Win XP has no such problem with the website, nor does the IE browser on this computer.
One possibility is: Some users had problems with secure sites starting in Firefox 31 related to the new PKIX security component, and worked around it by disabling it. Starting in Firefox 33, it can no longer be disabled, and that setting is ignored.
Are you comfortable posting the address of the login page so others could see whether they have the same experience with the form? -
How to resolve "Secure Connection Failed" issue
I am running Firefox 4.0.1 on Windows 7. I get the message "Secure Connection Failed" ... and ........
Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate authority. Please get a new certificate containing a unique serial number.
(Error code: sec_error_reused_issuer_and_serial)
I found the help info on how to deal with that here somewhere, and followed all of the steps. It would appear that the help info I followed was for an earlier version of Firefox (I was able to follow it on machine running version 3.5.15).
I deleted all the certificates involved, and went back to the page (immedieately, after quit/restart, ....) and I simpy get the same error page as I initially got.
There is NO mention of "...Or you can add an exception". I attempted to add an exception "manually" ... and got essentially the same certificate right away upon clicking "Get Ceritificate" ... the same error code is reported as was originally reported.
It would appear I am stuck in a never ending loop.
So, how do I get out of this one ?
Thanks
PS: The affected site is actually a system internal to my company - a copier .... though I do not believe that should make any difference to the actual answer.I should add that I can make an exception in IE, but I'd just as soon use Firefox.
Also, should add that I'm using Firefox 5.0 and all of the workarounds appear to be for earlier versions. -
Detailed error message is below shown :
Secure Connection Failed
mail.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate does not come from a trusted source. (Error code: sec_error_inadequate_key_usage)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.
Try again
I am using Windows 7 ultimate and I have Kaspersky Anti virus 2013 for internet security.
I am using Firefox version 30.0.
I have tried opening google services with different profiles(guest, administrator,standard user) but each time the same error messages are displayed and google services can not open.
Is this problem is created because of missing authorities certificates? I am using firefox on another computer but it has more authorities certificates than this computer with error message. In other computer google(search, mail, maps etc.) services are working correctly.It may be Kaspersky intercepting your secure connection to Gmail.
Try to start Windows in safe mode with networking enabled to verify if this is the case.
Do you see this problem with other secure sites too?
