Select cell in MS-Word table

How can I select a cell in the MS-Word through LabView when I'm using active-X? There should be a way to use the invoke and/or property node to select a cell in a word table directly. Which active-X class I have to use? Followed by..?
Attached I have an example vi ready.
Thanks for your help

Just use the ActiveDocument property into the Tables property into the Index method into the Cell method.  This returns the reference to a single cell of the table.  See the modified vi.

  • To color selected cells in dynamically created table in ALV.

    Hi,
The requirement is to display a table (whose columns are dynamic) using ALV n to color few cells of the table based on some condition.
For creating the table dynamically i have used the method cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table.
Now for coloring the cells i tried to use the field EMPHASIZE .
But when I try this method the whole column is getting colored.
So any suggestions on how to color only particular cells.

    Hi,
    Try this one...

  • Data from word tables to excel master spreadsheet

Hello, I'm looking to take data from my damage report forms that come in maybe 20 times a week. This data needs to goto a master excel spreadsheet. I've managed to find a macro that does this but it does not paste it into excel the way I require and also
extracts data I do not require.
The word document contains a column of headings on the left, these will be the master spreadsheet sheet column headers. These will be on the spreadsheet already so I don't need them copied.
The other  two columns contains the data I will need to xfer to excel. I was thinking bookmarks can help here but I'm unsure if these will save over from the original template?
So,  if there is some code out there that can help, brilliant. It will be an excel macro in the master spreadshee. TThat takestthe datadfrom the active word doc or by selecting the word doc in its folder.
    Fingers crossed.

    Hi Joseph,
You should be able to run below code to get the data out of the Tabel(s) of a Word Document from within Excel.
You can modify the code accordingly to your needs to specify the range where you want the data to be copied.
I have already slightly modified the code to skip the header information.
    Sub ImportWordTable()
    Dim wdDoc As Object
    Dim wdFileName As Variant
Dim TableNo As Integer 'table number in Word
Dim iRow As Long 'row index in Excel
Dim iCol As Integer 'column index in Excel
    wdFileName = Application.GetOpenFilename("Word files (*.docx),*.docx", , _
"Browse for file containing table to be imported")
If wdFileName = False Then Exit Sub '(user cancelled import file browser)
Set wdDoc = GetObject(wdFileName) 'open Word file
    With wdDoc
    TableNo = wdDoc.tables.Count
    If TableNo = 0 Then
MsgBox "This document contains no tables", _
    vbExclamation, "Import Word Table"
    ElseIf TableNo > 1 Then
    TableNo = InputBox("This Word document contains " & TableNo & " tables." & vbCrLf & _
"Enter table number of table to import", "Import Word Table", "1")
    End If
    With .tables(TableNo)
'copy cell contents from Word table cells to Excel cells
' start with row 2 to skip headers
    For iRow = 2 To .Rows.Count
    For iCol = 1 To .Columns.Count
    ' Define starting point here
    Cells(iRow - 1, iCol) = WorksheetFunction.Clean(.cell(iRow, iCol).Range.Text)
    Next iCol
    Next iRow
    End With
    End With
    Set wdDoc = Nothing
    End Sub

  • VERTICAL ALIGNMENT ON WORD TABLE IS MISS.

    Hello everybody,
Can somebody clear my mind? I did the code below, and this generates a beautiful and clean table on word 2010. The problem is that the instruction “.Rows.Height = 8” and
    “.Cells.VerticalAlignment = Word.WdCellVerticalAlignment.wdCellAlignVerticalCenter” seems
not work, besides, when I try to adjust the rows height and vertical alignment by myself, after routine generates the table of course, Word don´t allow me to do these adjustment by hand.
The property “.Rows.Height = 8” seems to be working, because when I change to “.Rows.Height = 25” the rows height really goes to it, also, there is no problem with horizontal alignment, this is work very fine.
Working with VS 2012 and Word 2010.
    Tried everything, no result….
    Thank you.

I am not able to understand the issue exactly. Can you set the height for the rows using Rows.Height? I made a quick test using VBA based on the code above, it works well for me. And I can also adjust by hand after run the code.
    >> “.Cells.VerticalAlignment = Word.WdCellVerticalAlignment.wdCellAlignVerticalCenter” seems

What effect did you want to achieve? Based on the code samlpe you were setting the verical alignment to bottom however the description are center. Both center and bottom for the vertical alignment works well for me.
I would suggest that you test the code using a new document to see whether the issue is realtive to the specific document. Here is the test code in VBA for your reference:

  • Word Table Borders and Shading

    Hi There,
Attached is a snipet of code that I use to programmatically shade selected cells of a large table in Word.
This code seems to sporadically shade the wrong cells.
    - Sometimes it is as though it switches to indexing from 1 rather than 0.
    - Sometimes LV shades whole regions of the table when only a single cell / column / row is specified.
    - Sometimes it is not possible to replicate an error when stepping through the code.
    - Sometimes increasing the delay within the FOR loop fixes it, sometimes it doesn't.
    - Sometimes altering the parts of the document before or after the table has an effect on whether it works or not.
Has anyone had any experience of this, and can shed some light on it?
    Many Thanks,
    Dan

  • How to disable selective cells in a column of a table?

    Hi
I have a Table UI element having 5 columns. 4 of this are non-editable and only one is editable i.e. having input field . The data is picked from the backend. The 5th column also gets default data from the backend, which the user can later on change.
But there is a condition, that only the input fields from that row onwards should remain enabled whose month field matches the current month. Rest all should become disabled or invisible.
I worte the code in the wdModifyView() which picks the current date, and then in a loop it checks all the rows for the condition. If it matches the condition, it comes out of the loop, else it sets the enable property of input field to false.
But when i run this application, all the cells become disabled, not selective cells.
Is there a way in which I can sort this problem, any API using which i can access each cell by its row number and column number and then disable it.
If anybody could please help, it is urgent.
    Thanks & regards,
    Anupreet

    Anupreet,
Create a subnode with cardinality 1..1 and boolean attribute IsEnabled right under your data node. Write a supply function for this subnode, and set boolean attribute value depending on month in parentElement (parameter of supply function). Then bind InputField "enabled" property to this boolean attribute.

  • Get Current Selected Cell Value in an af:table

    Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0
I currently have a requirement where i need to call a server method and pass the value of the current selected Cell value in my af:table.
The reason why i can't just make use of the currentSelectedRow is because i have a set of Columns (NumericValue1,NumericValue12,...NumericValue1n) and my server method can't really tell which cell i picked.
So far, what i did is that i utilized F. Nimphius's article about using contextMenu and passing a clientAttribute.
Re: How to pass parameter to inline popup when mouse over
I'm hoping to do the same thing but without raising a popup on right click. So basically, i'm hoping to select an outputText in the table and this value will be stored in a pageFlowScopeBean.
    Has anybody encountered something similar?
    Thanks.

    Hi Barbara,
    You're aproach sounds intersting.
So you mean to say, i'll create a component which has a bindings to my pageDefinition which needs to have it's clientComponent attribute set to true i believe so that my javascript can find this component.
Then, i'll write a javascript that handles the focus event which then stores the clientAttribute value and stores that in the hidden component mentioned earlier. I'm guessing that once i set the newValue to the hidden component, it should be posted to the pageDef bindings upon hitting server side calls.
I'll try this out and give an update on it.

  • Can you select the row in a table view without highlighting the cell?

I have an an app with a table view which is presented modally. Cell selections in this table are saved in the parent controller so that they can be reselected if the table is reloaded after being dismissed.
When the cell is first highlighted, I want to momentarily highlight the cell and have it fade out, which I do by unselecting the cell from the modal view controller's didSelectRowAtIndexPath by calling setSelected:animated on the table view cell.
However, when I present the table view controller modally again and want to display the previously selected cell as selected, I don't want the cell background to be highlighted, and I'm having trouble doing this.
In order to make sure the table view knows the cell is selected, I am calling selectRowAtIndexPath. I need to make sure the cell is selected so that I can set/unset the cell's accessoryType. However, this has the sideeffect of highlighting the cell too, which looks weird and confusing to the user.
I've tried things like temporarily setting the cell's selection style to none, but while that stops the cell background from highlighting? I've tried setting the selectionStyle to UITableViewSelectionStyleNone, but while this prevents the cell background from highlighting, the cell text still changes to white, so it the text is invisible against the white background.
Is there a easy way of setting a cell to selected in the table view without also changing the highlight and text colour of the actual cell? Immediately setting the cell to be unselected still makes the highlight visible for a split second.

I tried that, but setting the highlighted property doesn't seem to affect it.
I figured out how what I was doing wrong though. I was setting selection style UITableViewSelectionStyleNone, selecting the cell, then setting the selection style back to whatever it had previously been. This causes the background not to draw highlighted, but the text and accessory type to still draw highlighted.
In order to fix this, I moved the code to set the cell selection style to whatever it had previously been to the didDeselectRowAtIndexPath method.

  • Is there a way to preserve interactivity within a table so that users of an iBook can enter new values in selected cells and have formulas recalculated with that input?

I would like to include interactive tables that would recalculate using formulas I have written and values that the reader/user has entered into selected cells. The tables I've made in iBooks Author do contain formulas that work as expected...until exported to an iPad, then they look and act just like a static table. I am not looking for serious number crunching or high-end mathematics, although others might find great value in such capability.
To work without a reader/user accidentally (or otherwise) altering formulas or formatting it would be necessary to lock some or most cells of the table. At present all cells are locked after export. Apple doesn't seem to envision or value the functionality of such a feature; it appears to me missing from Numbers as well.

Should be near trivial to execute on with an app...
As welll, I wouldn't be surprised if a dashcode widget would fit the bill.
As always, feel free to use the 'Provide iBooks Author Feedback' menu item for features you'd like added in the future, etc.

  • How do I selectively  convert check boxes (Alt0168 Wingdings) but NOT Bookmarks into editable fields (from Word table)

Acrobat X (Windows) is converting all fields from the Word table - making even the imported bookmarks editable. We just want the check boxes interactive. This has to be done on a large volume of documents, so it needs to be automated. I suspect some coding will be involved or perhaps a 3rd party app that allows one to selectively convert fields.
    Thanks!

Ok, I found out that I need to apply the patch 5746875 to have that. But there only instruction to apply this patch on unix env. I need on Windows. Can any body help me?

  • Word table boarder conversion problems with shaded cells

    Hi
We are using Adobe Acrobat 9 and Word 2003

If you remove the shading and convert the document the table boarders are displayed correctly.

What versions of both programs and how did you create the PDF? Can you post an example of the PDF?

  • Selecting Cells in Different Tables

    I've created three tables on a Numbers 09 spreadsheet - let's call them tables "A", "B" and "C".
I want to select a cell on Table A and another cell on Table B then Sum them in another cell on Table C.
The problem is, I cannot figure out how to select the cells on tables A and B simultaneously so that I can drag the Sum function for them to a cell on table C.

    Marty,
In the English mode, the range identifier is the colon, not the comma. So, to SUM cells A1, B1 and C1, one would write: =SUM(A1:C1).
This may be what is tripping you up. The comma delimits multiple ranges, so if you wanted the sum of A1, B1, C1 including as well X1, Y1 and Z1, one would write: =SUM(A1:C1, X1:Z1). Of course, the comma can also be used to delimit single-cell ranges, as in: =SUM(A1, X2, Z3)
Further, and more to the point of your original question; to select multiple arguments for the SUM function, one at a time from different tables, type =SUM() in the cell where the result goes, and place the cursor between the parentheses, then hold down the Command key while you click in any Table, any cell, for as many tables and cells as you like, and the references will all appear in your expression properly formatted.
    Hope this helps.

I have been trying to copy a Word table (e.g. 3x3) with numbers into pages to calculate sums.
When I paste into numbers, all the 3 colums appear one under the other in one column.
What I had to do was to copy the table in Excel then back to Numbers for the 3X3 format to be recognized in Numbers.
I am doing something wrong? is this a bug...

    Hello
I got infos upon the clipboard contents. It doesn't contain the table description.
So, I wrote a short script asking you the number of columns.
    Here it is
Save this script as an application.

    property nbCols : "3"
set nbCols to text returned of (display dialog "How many colums ?" default answer nbCols)
set nbCols to nbCols as integer

set myDatas to the clipboard as Unicode text
    set delim to return
if myDatas contains LF then set delim to LF
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to delim
set list1 to text items of myDatas
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to ""
set nb to count of list1
if item nb of list1 is "" then set nb to nb - 1
set nbRows to nb div nbCols
    set newDatas to ""

    Store it in the folder:

create the folder if it doesn't exist.
Now, open your Word document, copy the table's cells in the clipboard.
Run the script by selecting it in the Scripts's menu

  • How to point at a word table using forms  Ole and Word Document

    Hello.
I like to know how to position at a word table and send data from a forms module using ole. I have done something similar before using bookmarks. It's easy and it works. My requirement now is to send data from a forms module to a word document, but this time, the word document will have bookmarks and a word table needs to be filled from data from the database. Just don't know how to get , access, reference the word table from forms.
    I'm still using forms6i in C/S mode.
Help will be greatly appreciated ...!.
    Best regards, Luis ...!

    Hi Luis,
The VBA code for updating the cell found at row three, column two of the first table, of the active document is as follows:
       ActiveDocument.Tables(1).Cell(3,2).Select
Selection.TypeText("Hello, world!")I haven't time to convert it to OLE2, but hopefully it will at least give you an idea.
