PreparedStatement select_stm =con.prepareStatement("select ISBN,B_nam,pub_hous from Book_inf where ?=?");
~~~~~~~~~~~ I wonder if there's something wrong with this ??
select_stm.setString(2,keyword);
when excuted there is
java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]?????? '@P1@P2'?
what is wrong ??
I'm a green hand!!
The placing of '%' depends on which kind of matching you want to do.
Please have a look at the following code.
* ASSUMPTION : Criteria Class is defined and is Public
public boolean execute(/* may be some parameters*/){
//some code
String sql = "select * from employee where name like " + buildMatchString ("ABC", Criteria.CONTAINS);
// code to execute query
public String buildMatchString (String stringToMatch, int matchCriteria){
          switch (matchCriteria) {
          case Criteria.MATCH_EXACT :
               returnString = ("'" + stringToMatch + "'");
               break;
          case Criteria.STARTS_WITH :
               returnString = ("'" + stringToMatch + "%'");
               break;
          case Criteria.ENDS_WITH :
               returnString = ("'%" + stringToMatch + "'");
               break;
          case Criteria.CONTAINS_VALUE :
          returnString = ( "'%" + stringToMatch + "%'");
               break;
          default:
               returnString = null;
               //break;
          } // end of switch (matchCriteria)
I hope this helps.
    I have upgraded the ios to the 9A406 but this did not solve it.
    i knew how to get the logs : Settings ==> About ==> Diagnostics & Usage ==> Diagnostic & Usage Data ==> and then check the awdd log.
    and found it to be related to a modem reset error logged as follow:
    The correct way is to just open the ref cursor and pass it back and then the receiving code that is going to use that cursor handles whether there is any code in it or not. can you please explain with simple exampleIs it really that difficult?
    Ok...
    Here's the procedure to return a ref cursor...
    SQL> ed
    Wrote file afiedt.buf
      1  create or replace procedure get_rc(p_deptno in number, p_rc out sys_refcursor) is
      2  begin
      3    open p_rc for 'select * from emp where deptno = :1' using p_deptno;
      4* end;
    SQL> /
    Procedure created.Now we have some application that wants to consume a ref cursor... in this case the application is SQL*Plus, but it could be Java or .NET etc.
    It declares it's local reference to the ref cursor...
    SQL> var r refcursor;then calls the procedure to get a ref cursor reference assigned...
    SQL> exec get_rc(10, :r);
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.Now, the application itself determines if there is any data when it comes to actually perform the fetches on it...
    SQL> print r;
         EMPNO ENAME      JOB              MGR HIREDATE                    SAL       COMM     DEPTNO
          7782 CLARK      MANAGER         7839 09-JUN-1981 00:00:00       2450                    10
          7839 KING       PRESIDENT            17-NOV-1981 00:00:00       5000                    10
          7934 MILLER     CLERK           7782 23-JAN-1982 00:00:00       1300                    10in the above case it had data, so it displayed it.
    So what if there isn't any data...
    SQL> exec get_rc(90, :r);
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> print r;
    no rows selected
    SQL>SQL*Plus (the application that calls the procedure) is the one that has determined that there was not data when it came to fetch it (using the print statement in this case). And when it found there was no data it handled it itself (in this case printing the message "no rows returned").
    The procedure doesn't have to do any overhead of determining if there is data going to be returned or not, because it's not it's responsibility and completely unnecessary. The calling application can easily determine if there is data or not when it starts to try and fetch it.
  • /fre/exc  Selection Exception workbench add new field
    Hi,
    We have a requirement in which new selection criterion needs to be added for tcode /fre/exc. It should be in Selection Identifier.
    The new field required is RP TYPE.
    Based on this new field the filtering should occur when we go to REDETERMINE ALERTS.
    Is there some BADI/User Exit by whcih this can be achieved.
    Or some configuration?
    Please help.
    Hi,
    I think, checkName should not throw an exception at all. The task of this method is to check the name. There are two results: good or bad, which maps pretty well to a boolean return value. You could then pop up a JOptionPane with the error message and ask the user again to enter correct values. Do this in a while loop, until checkName returns true (or the user presses some "cancel" button).
    You should throw an exception only, if a method cannot complete its task. E.g. setWage or setHoursWorked could throw an IllegalArgumentException, when a negative value is given. checkName however can always completely do what it is supposed to do. BTW: perhaps it should also check, whether FName == null and LName == null to avoid a NullPointerException?
  • On pogo run win xp pogo games menus won't select except in new tab
    Since upgrading to firefox 20, when I go to pogo on my xp machines, the games menus
    [favorites] [category] [games a-z] will only select if I right click the menu and load in new tab or new window. Under vista and win 7, these menus still select properly. I have to presume this is something firefox left out in the recent upgrade. Even firefox 21 under win xp has this problem. Luckily I can check the other platforms as I have two other computers running them.
    Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the [http://mozilla.com/plugincheck Mozilla Plugin Check site].
    Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions.
    If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow ''Update'' button or a red ''Update now'' button, please update these immediately.
    To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.
  • Exception message"no BOM selected"
    Hi Experts,
                      In what circumstances is the above error message i.e. "no BOM selected" thrown ? When I am running MD02 for a FG, I am getting this message. This FG has only one SFG as it's component in the BOM. Production version for FG exists. The SFG has no BOM/production version. How can i avoid this message and what all does it imply? Please suggest.
    Regards
    Sm.
    The possible reasons for " No BOM Selected " Exception M,essage 52  could be
    1. Validity period of BOM
    2. BOM Status (should be active for MRP.)
    3. BOM Components should be relevant to production.
    4. Check whether you have defined the selection ID for the priority of BOM Usage in SPRO define order of priority of
    BOM Usage.
    Thanks,
    nandha
  • Transaction code to display exception messages by material and plant
    Hi,
    Is there a transaction code or standard report in SAP  to display exception messages by material and plant? I see the exception messages by individual material and plant in MD04 but I need to see a collective view. I tried Collective access in MD04 and MD46 but they are not giving me exception groups but I need exceptions listed out by material and plant.
    Thanks.
    Visu,
    I have never seen such a report.
    MD06 does support fine tuning the output display, once the list has been generated.  If you use this feature, the resulting display is the entire list as created by selecting the initial parameters (such as exception group), but with the specific items that contain your selected message highlighted.  If you are addressing the messages interactively, you can select the review (glasses)  screens, and scroll through just the ones which contain your  selected exception message(s).
    To try this, execute MD06.  Select the groups as necessary.  Execute.  Wait for the list.  Now, immediately, select 'search' (binoculars).  Experiment with the output.
    As mentioned in the previous post, if MD06 does not meet your needs, you will need to have a custom report written.
  • Update form not returning correct data selection in dropdown menu
    Using CS3 DW along with SQL 2008 R2. I have a number of dropdown menus on an entry form (using VBScript/ASP) that are feed by SQL queries. All data is accepted in the entry form and writes to the table in the database without any issues. I created an Update form and based on a Rec ID clicked on from a list the Update form is presented with all the data in the correct fields except for one dropdown menu. All the other menus go to the correct selection except for the one. Spent 2 days attempting to resolve this. If I change the dropdown menu to a field the correct data is presented when the form comes up, but doesn't allow the user to make a selection from the menu. When I change it back to a dropdown menu the saved selection is not selected - just lists the entire list of items in the menu. Any help or ideas on this is greatly appreciated.
    Hello All,
    Once more thank you. I have sorted the issue out.
    I observed that I was selecting the wrong field. I selected the field matching the record set of the select instead of the field matching the record set of the table I am working as seen on the image belew
    I was selecting this - This is the record set of the table that hold values for the city select list
    Instead of this. This is the record set of the table behind the form I am working on
    My issue is now re-solved.
  • 1,000 menu items - each selection plays unique audio clip with same video
    Hi all,
    We're familiar with playing different audio tracks based on a menu selection - but we have a large number of clips for this project... so, here's our question:
    A viewer of our 30 minute dvd throws it in the player and selects the city they live. We want to have about 1,000 city names they can choose from.
    Based on their selection, (eg: Los Angeles) the DVD will play and then at 7 different points during playback, we need the name "Los Angeles" inserted/played along the main audio track.  If someone selects Portland, then Portland would be spoken in that spot instead, etc.
    In terms of audio files, we have the one main audio that is the same for all menu selections, except for the spots where the city goes, it is just blank.
    We have recorded 1,000 unique audio clips of just the city name we want to include . (1 to 2 seconds long)
    What's the best way to insert the audio where we need it during playback - or is it even possible? (non-blu ray).  There is audio just before and after the point where the city name has to go, so the timing during playback is critical. (no pause or hiccup when inserting.)
    We thought about outputting 1,000 unique audio tracks (each 30 minutes long) that include the full audio along with the city, but we seem limited in the number of audio tracks on the Encore timeline (at least based on our limited authoring experience - is there a way to get more clips in encore beyond the # of audio tracks it allows?)
    In reading other posts, it seems we can set markers along the main audio track, dump all our city clips on a handful of audio tracks and have them pull in where needed but it seems it will cause the dvd to pause when doing this, and make for an interrupted viewing experience. Is that true?
    Any ideas/thoughts are greatly appreciated...
    kay
    Let's see if someone can tell us how this might be done, but I say the answer is "no."
    First, DVDs are made for playing on TVs as programs, not as interactive media. You pick one audio track, and that is all you get. To do what you want (the main audio track with one of a thousand names spoken also), you need a thousand audio tracks.
    Even if it were possible, I think the number of menu choices (max 36 buttons on a single 4:3 menu) and the max 1 gig of menu on a disk, and if not those, the max 99 vts per disk (and for Encore which uses 1 vts per timeline, a  huge task to figure out how to make all those clips into chapters on timelines) etc.
  • Performace of a select query
    Hello Experts,
    I have created a select statement based on input from selection-screen.
    Basically the users want to run it wide open for all the selections except "ERDAT" field. They usually enter current date for this field.
    Here's the query. Can I improve this selection in any way?
    Your help is appreciated. Thanks.
    data: begin of i_sdoc occurs 0,
           vbeln like vbak-vbeln,
           posnr like vbap-posnr,
           werks like vbap-werks,
           matnr like vbap-matnr,
           kunnr like vbpa-kunnr,
          end of i_sdoc.
      select a~vbeln
             b~posnr
             b~werks
             b~matnr
             c~kunnr
        into table i_sdoc
        from vbak as a
        join vbap as b
          on a~vbeln = b~vbeln
        join vbpa as c
          on b~vbeln = c~vbeln
         and b~posnr = c~posnr
       where a~vbeln in s_vbeln
         and b~matnr in s_matnr
         and b~werks in s_werks
         and b~erdat in s_erdat
         and b~mvgr3 in s_mvgr3
         and a~augru in s_augru
         and c~parvw = 'SH'.
         append i_sdoc.
         clear i_sdoc.
    No you can not improve this statement in all possible cases
    where a~vbeln in s_vbeln
         and b~matnr in s_matnr
         and b~werks in s_werks
         and b~erdat in s_erdat
         and b~mvgr3 in s_mvgr3
         and a~augru in s_augru
         and c~parvw = 'SH'.
    The problem is the the IN-clauses, you must define which IN-clauses are filled.
    Only the filled one will appear in the database statement, so there are 2**6 = 64 combinations possible. 64 Statements which you would have to optimize.
    Check which IN-clauses you will always need, and reduce the number of possiblities.
    Try to optimize the ones which you really need. I don't know which they are.
  • Exception in Oracle 10g
    I've got problems with the following code:
    OPEN Gr_Obj_Cur;
    LOOP
    BEGIN
    FETCH Gr_Obj_Cur INTO Gr_Obj_Rec;
    EXIT WHEN Gr_Obj_Cur%NOTFOUND;
    INSERT INTO ADM.Current_Official_Obj#
    (Owner, Name, Obj_Type, Priv)
    VALUES (Gr_Obj_Rec.Owner, Gr_Obj_Rec.Name, Gr_Obj_Rec.Obj_Type, 'SELECT');
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    NULL;
    END;
    END LOOP;
    CLOSE Gr_Obj_Cur;
    It iterates aproximately 2000 times. And since I've a unique index built for the Current_Official_Obj# in almost half of cases the insert throws an exception. The latter(throwing an exception) executes pretty long (50sec. for the whole loop).
    I tried to run this code In Oracle 9 - and the most surprising is that it works in 0.5sec.
    What is the reason for such a strange behavior in Oracle10? Can the exceptions be logged? Is this option tunable? If so then how to turn it off?
    Thanx in advance, Aidar
    Not sure what you are trying to achieve here. The code itself does not make sense. Why use an explicit cursor fetch loop when the exact same results can be achieved by an implicit cursor running a 'INSERT INTO .. SELECT ... FROM ..'?
    Why supress all exceptions, without handling them? I fail to grasp why this would want to be done.
    As for comparing 9i with 10G - this will only be valid if the 2 hardware platforms are exactly the same and the data volumes (and number of exceptions raised) are also the same. Even then there can be differences due to PIO vs LIO ratios between the two instances. Etc.
  • Problem  in Combo Select
    Hi,
    In my form i have a combo. My requirement is, for example i load 5 data A,B,C,D,E in combo. First i select the 'A' and load the corresponding elements in the matrix, next i select 'B' and the corresponding elements of 'B'  was loaded in matrix now again i select 'A ' it should check 'A' is already selected and the corresponding elements are already displayed in matrix again the elements of 'A' should not be loaded in matrix. Plz tell how to check this.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Madhavi
    Hi Madhavi,
    here are the main parts of my little example.
    Some hints:
    The form is managed in a shared class (only one form at a time)
    The Matrix is loaded via a DataTable
    The Matrix is ReLoaded on every time the "ABCDE-Combo" is selected (except the value is already selected)
    In the example I load Businesspartners into matrix where their CardName starts with A or B or....or E (you must adapt it for your needs)
    SboCon.SboDI is the SAPbobsCOM.Company
    SboCon.SboUI is the SAPbouiCOM.Application
    Some global vars (initialize them somewhere when the form is opened!):
        Private Shared oForm As SAPbouiCOM.Form
        Private Shared oUds As SAPbouiCOM.UserDataSources
        Private Shared oDts As SAPbouiCOM.DataTables
        Private Shared oDtBp As SAPbouiCOM.DataTable
        Private Shared oMtxBp As SAPbouiCOM.Matrix
        Private Shared SelVals As System.Collections.ArrayList ' The values of the combo which already selected by the user
    Init the vars somewhere (where you normally do this) on form load:
                oForm = '...set it in your way
                oDts = oForm.DataSources.DataTables
                oUds = oForm.DataSources.UserDataSources
                oMtxBp = oForm.Items.Item("MTX_BP").Specific
               ' DataBinding and related:
                '### Data Tables
                oDts.Add("DT_BP")
                '### UserDataSources
                '# ABCDE Combo:
                oUds.Add("UDS_SELBP", SAPbouiCOM.BoDataType.dt_SHORT_TEXT, 100)
                oForm.Items.Item("CBX_SELBP").Specific.databind.setbound(True, "", "UDS_SELBP")
                '### Fill ABCDE Combo
                oForm.Items.Item("CBX_SELBP").DisplayDesc = True
                oCbx = oForm.Items.Item("CBX_SELBP").Specific
                oCbx.ValidValues.Add("0", "Please select...")
                For val As Integer = Asc("A") To Asc("E")
                    oCbx.ValidValues.Add(Chr(val), "Load " & Chr(val) & " BP")
                Next
                oUds.Item("UDS_SELBP").ValueEx = "0"
    The Combo Select Event:
                If pVal.ItemUID = "CBX_SELBP" And pVal.EventType = SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_COMBO_SELECT Then
                    If Not pVal.BeforeAction Then
                        If oUds.Item("UDS_SELBP").ValueEx != "0" Then
                            Dim oCbx As SAPbouiCOM.ComboBox = oForm.Items.Item("CBX_SELBP").Specific
                            If SelVals.Contains(oUds.Item("UDS_SELBP").ValueEx) Then
                                ' BP already selected - do nothing
                                SboCon.SboUI.StatusBar.SetText("Already selected!")
                            Else
                                If Not SelVals.Contains(oUds.Item("UDS_SELBP").ValueEx) Then
                                    SelVals.Add(oUds.Item("UDS_SELBP").ValueEx)
                                End If
                                    If i > 0 Then query &= " OR "
                                    query &= "CardName LIKE '" & SelVals(i) & "%' "
                                Next
                                query &= " ORDER BY CardName"
                                ' load the MTX via DataTable (reloaded every time based on collected combo-values)
                                oDtBp.ExecuteQuery(query)
                                With oMtxBp.Columns
                                    ' Zeilen-Nr.
                                    .Item("0").DataBind.Bind("DT_BP", "CardCode")
                                    .Item("1").DataBind.Bind("DT_BP", "CardName")
                                End With
                                oMtxBp.LoadFromDataSource()
                                oMtxBp.AutoResizeColumns()
                                SboCon.SboUI.StatusBar.SetText(oUds.Item("UDS_SELBP").ValueEx & " added!", SAPbouiCOM.BoMessageTime.bmt_Short, SAPbouiCOM.BoStatusBarMessageType.smt_Success)
                            End If
                            ' reset Combo to "Please select..."
                            oUds.Item("UDS_SELBP").ValueEx = 0
                        End If
                    End If
                End If
    ATTENTION: REPLACE the "!=" with less (<)/greater(>) symbol, they're not shown in ths forum
    I hope I didn't forget sth. - here it works..
