Selecting Field Values in a Structure

Hi,
I would like to seek help in selecting field values of structures.
Here's the scenario. I am currently retrieving records and I need to filter the status.
When I pressed F1 on the status field, the screen-field is VTGFHAPO-XBEWEBE. VTGFHAPO is a structure. So, SQL statement is not possible.
How do I filter the status of the record?
For example, I will only retireve records with "OK".
VTGFHAPO-XBEWEBE = "OK".

Changing Selection Fields available in Extract Structure 0FI_AA_11

Hello Experts!
I would just like to ask this question, as I've already consulted with so many people and nobody seems to know if this is possible or not and I've already tried searching for it in the forums to no avail.
The situation is that I am currently full loading data from R/3 to BW, into the ODS 0FI_AA_11. Now, due to the full loading of the data, one load would entail a huge amount of line items around 1 million + lines per load). The loading of the line items per se is successful (as seen in the Details tab in monitor under Processing). However, activation takes quite a long time (8 hours is the longest so far) and it just times-out and we are not sure if the request is still running or not, so often times we are forced to just kill the process.
So given that and seeing that this is a standard ODS, we were thinking of just breaking down the loading into batches of FISCPER (month and year). HOWEVER, the InfoPackage that are associated with the InfoSource being used by the ODS, 0FI_AA_11 only allows for the usage of 3 selection parameters for loading: Depreciation Area, FISCALYEAR, and Company Code.
We have already tried to edit the datasoource in R/3 (RSA6) for this extract structure; however, we are unable to tick the box under the Selection column next to the FISCPER field. From what we understand, this is what allows the datasource to enable that field for selection in the InfoPackage.
We would just like to know if it is possible to edit the extract structure in such a way that we are able to tick this box for the extract structure and if so, how can we do it?

u2022     Test and debug in extractor checks (RSA3).
u2022     Monitoring running task (SM50).
u2022     Start the extractor with the scheduler in BI.
u2022     Locate the process in the monitor and start troubleshooting.

According the InfoPackage that only allows for the usage of 3 selection parameter for loading: Depreciation Area, FISCALYEAR, and Company Code. If you need to enhance, you should log on to the source system, go to maintaining DataSource.

And add more field in your DataSource structure, to allow select more parameters in your InfoPackage, as FISCPER.

Infoset/query : how to fix a selection field value?

I am writing queries with SQ01 and designing Infosets with SQ02.
I have to restrict the results of a query to a specific plant.
This can be done by adding the plant field in the selection screen of the query and by asking the users to fill always the same fixed plant number when the query is started. Another solution is to filter the output.
Isnt it possible to simplify this by forcing the plant number in the initialization of the Infoset values without display of this field in the selection screen? This value has to be initialized before the table containing the Plant field is joined to the other tables?

Open SQ01 transaction,give your query name, click on infoset query button.
On the right side of the screen you can define default values for those fields.
If you want to disable the same field in selection creteria then open your infoset in SQ02
transaction and click change, click on extras buttonin appllication tool bar,on right hand side
in code tab you can add your logic.

How to avoid the truncation of field values in select-options

Hi all,
I have a requirement where i have used select-options to select multiple filenames. I have taken the filename of type rlgrap-filename(128 char) But the problem is in select-options if the values of the filename which is selected has length ( i.e the length of the selected field value) exceeds 45 character , then he remaining charactes are truncated. Hence i am not able to get the
correct field value in the internal table of the select-options.
i came to know that if NO_DISPLAY addition is used then this truncation wont occur. But in my case user has to select the files and hence this addition cannot be used.
please let me know if anyone has a solution for this or if there is any other way to select multiple entries in selection screen.

rlgrap-filename is having the length of only 128 characters.If the file path exceeds 128 characters then the rest will get truncated.If you file name exceeds more than 128 characters and the pafth is fixed,then harcode the entire path in the program and later on concatenate the path and the file name into a string which can be used for further processing.
paramters:p_file like rlgrap-filename.
here just give the filename as say 1234.XLS.(Assuming that you are not browsing for the file using F4_filename).
In the program harcode the path say C:\Documents and setting\sapworkdir\user\.
Now concaternate these two and pass it to string which can be used for further processing.
If the user intneds to browse the file and the path name exceeds 128 characters then follow the way to delcare the paramter in the selection screen as said above.If it is working for parameters then I think it should be working for select option also.

How to create a selection field in Infopackage

Hello Experts,
Greetings.
My Requirement is to have a infopackage to dynamically accept the selection field values
Now I Understand the we can only populate single ragne of values VIA ABAP Routine.
Eg: 0Plant : 1 to 99999999999
But now my requirement is to make Infopackage accept full range of single values.
like for Eg for Numeric values it should be
0Plant = 1 to 99999999999
for charcters plant from all characerstic material master
0Plant = CR_001
0Plant = CRWed
0Plant = QWET
Eg: It has a field 0Plant now i want this field to replicate as many plant as I get from Material Master table
How can this be achieved .

You can add 0PLANT in the InfoPakckage more than once in the Data Selection tab by simply pressing '+' sign.
Like
0PLant 0000001 - 0999999999 ( this will be populated via routine or can be fixed values)
0Plant = CR_001
0Plant = CRWed
0Plant = QWET
THis selection will pull all the plants' data where plant is 000001- 0999999, and plant is CR_001, CRWed and QWET.

Selection screen field value capturing

I have developed a report for displaying amendment changes in a purchse order. The input are purchase order
and plant. Now they have asked for an additional input of version field, which should also have F4 field-value help.
For version field, default there is no F4 key. So, i have written code like after entering the PO number when we press the enter key, for the corresponding PO, it brings the version no in input field. But my problem is it is displaying the values for version field, but when i select some value it is not getting updated in selection-screen version field. HR - dynamic selections field name and field value in the program

I am using dynamic selections for a HR report.
I have created a view with 20 fields and added it to HR report category ___00003(All fields suppressed).
I need to check these fields in the program. But i am not able to get the field name and value in the program for dynamic selections fields.
Please let me know how to get the field names and values in the program for dynamic selections .

You have to read the itab pnpdynse in your Program to obtain the Dynamic Selection values. This itab has a deep structure.. you can set a break point in one of the events before get pernr & in the debug mode, you will able to display the itab pnpdynse.. you can then identify how to get the values into your code..

I'm fairly new to this, but I think it has to do with the way you have the drop downs named. Did you copy one then keep pasting it in each field? If so, that is the problem. You should rename each one with a different number: Dropdown1, Dropdown2, etc. I think that might solve the issue.

Select all values from field in LOV

I need to create a LOV in Discoverer that works as follows: I have 4 values in a dimension, but I want the user could select another value, something as 'all'. This value includes the values in the dimension table and any other value in the relationed fields.
For example, I have four values, A,B,C and D. But I want to add another value, 'All' that matches this four values as any other one. How can I do that?

Hi Javier,
When you create a parameter, you have the option to let the user to enter multiple values. Therefore, if you have a LOV, the user can select one or multiple or all values.

I created a selection screen with 2 fields.

when user selects BP value (like example 1000000005 - then i want to display corresponding values in bp type field(p_typ) ( i dont want to display all the values, i want to scrutinize the values and then display.)

use at selection-screen output.
change the second field acording to u'r requirment.
The assignments to input fields in the event block AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT always affect the selection screen and overwrite the user inputs from previous displays of the same selection screen. .

How to use table field values as dynamic parameters on selection screen

I need help on dynamic selection parameters.
I need to display no. of parameters from the fields of a database table.
Basically i want to pass field values of a table to selection screen and we can use those values as parameter on selection screen.
If there are 10 entries in a table field( say field is field_name and entries are bukrs,kunnr etc.)
I need to display as many parameters on screen as many values are there in field_name( In this case it is 10)
