Selection screen generation

hi,
in my main dialog program, i created a selection screen using statements selection-screen....
i activated it and was able to see that at runtime..
i noticed that the same selection screen was listed in the tree in SE80 under my package under screens node !! how did it come there ? when i activate will the selection screens be generated and listed there ? if yes then i am not able to see such other selection screens in the list, which i have defined ??
can someone explain this ? thks

Se80 is object nevigator this will contain all objects which under lies in your program are seen in se80 like all dict structure and all screen and fields.

    I've a requirement. Suppose in my selection screen there are three input fields. On the basis of this selection screens input It will  display the output in the same selection screen. Can it be possible? .

    Whatever changes made in STANDARD SELECETION SCREEN 1000 or screens generated using 'SELECTION-SCREEN' statements, are not permanent.
    It will get back to its original appearance, while you execute again or some time later.
    Whenever you get into 'CHANGE' mode of these screens, an information will be displayed as follows ;
    Selection screen: Report generation makes screen
    changes ineffective

    I have a requirement. I have one PNP database SELECTION-SCREEN in my report program. And i have created one more screen using screen painter.
    Now i hae to display that screen which i created using screen painter under PNP SELECTION-SCREEN.

    Now after this i have to display my screen which i designed using screen painter.

    For this i did as....
    I created a BUTTON in SELECTION-SCREEN. And when the user clicked on this then screen will appear as window.
    It's working fine.
    It's look like this.

    But,my client required that screen also wants to display directly under PNP SELECTION-SCREEN but not as window and clicking button.

    There i am specifying my suscreen as this.

    at end of PBO.
    And in PAI.
    CALL SUBSCREEN subscreen1.
    Finally when i tried to execute it's giving DUMP.
    Any solutions..

  • How to set Screen type "Selection Screen" in Dialog program

    I have copied a screen 400 from a program into my program. In that screen in source program, the screen type was defined as 'Selection Screen'. After i copied that screen into my program, the screen type Selection Screen option is disabled. How to set the screen type of a screen to Selection Screen.
    I am currently getting the following error
    "Error when generating the selection screen "0400" of   "Ztest_screen                 ".
    I tried running the generation program RSDBGENA. There the diagnosis was given as follows:
    When generating the report Ztest_screen and its selection screen, an existing screen 1000 (not a selection screen) was overwritten.
    The selection screen was defined as follows:
    SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 400 AS SUBSCREEN.
    SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK blck1 WITH FRAME TITLE text-001.
    SELECT-OPTIONS: s_matnr FOR mara-matnr.
    PARAMETERS:     p_werks TYPE werks_d OBLIGATORY.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK blck1.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF SCREEN 400 .
    I am calling the screen 400 with selection screen declarations in PBO of screen 0100.
    CALL SUBSCREEN sub_scr INCLUDING 'Ztest_Screen'  '400'.
    Where am i going wrong? Your inputs are needed.

    I had copied the generated screen 400 also from the source program into my program. This was the error. I deleted that and the report got activated now.
    Both the source and destination programs are not module pool. They are executable programs.

  • BEx query selection screen takes long time to popup

    Hi,
    I have a query which is taking long time to popup the selection screen. I have tried in RSRT the generate report option, the generating report takes 45 to 60 mins. After the report is generated the query selection screen comes up in couple of seconds. The first time I run the query everything its fine but then for the second time the problem comes back again.
    The selection screen takes +/- 40 mins to comes up in RSRT and in the portal it times out.
    I have run the statistics of the query and according to the statistics report the query takes a  lot of time for the following component :
    OLAP: Query Gen.     2681,312682
    I have removed the query from the cache monitor and after that regenerate the report. But these steps didnu2019t solve my problem.
    I made two test queries, in one query I have made the CKFu2019s and RKFu2019s directly at the infoprovider, and dragged and dropped in the KF structure. In the other query I made the CKFu2019s and RKFu2019s in the query KF structure itself. The query where I have the CKFu2019s and RKFu2019s at the infoprovider that query times out, the other query where I put the CKFu2019s and RKFu2019s in the query KF structure doesn't has this performance problem.
    What I donu2019t know is why the query is failing when I use RKFu2019s and CKFu2019s from the infoprovider, the other query donu2019t have this problem.
    Please advise how to proceed.

    Whatever I am changing is not taking affect in runtime.
    Even though I have activated the changed code for the screen
    What shall I do resolve this?

    You should not be changing the screen flow logic of a standard selection screen 1000.  It will always be regenerated.  In order to modify the standard selection screen, you can do this in the AT SELECTION-SCREEN output event and loop at screen and change the attributes.
    Loop at screen.

        screen-input = '0'.
        modify screen.

    I am getting error when i add a selection screen parameters in module pool.
    I copied stadard program to custom one, when I add an input field to screen it gives information message saying

    If though if i add the selection screen, when i relogin newly added screeen disappears.

    I have a sample program which takes an integer as an input. After giving input, click on the button on selection screen. You can make a similar logic in your case also.
    Create a program with name 'Z_13317_DYN_CHKBOX' and paste the following code in it. Also make ensure that an include with name 'Z_13317_DYN_INCL' is not existing earlier because this program will be overwritten each and everytime.

    If you are on 4.6c , you cannot use two select-options within the same selection-screen begin of line and end of line. It will throw the screen generation error which you mentioned. Convert the select options to parameters if you want two parameters fields in the same line and change your code this way

  • Language selection screen after every recharge

    I have a 40GB 2nd generation Ipod. Every time I recharge it and power it back on it goes to the language selection screen. Is there anyway to fix this?

  • Problems creating dynamic selection screen

    Hi all,
    i'm trying to dynamically generate a selection screen and show it as subscreen using the two function modules FREE_SELECTIONS_INIT and FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG. I call the function modules in the PBO of the therefor defined subscreen. The FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG fm has the two import parameter "as_subscreen" and "as_window". If i use the "as_window" parameter the selection screen comes up as popup. If i use the "as_subscreen" parameter, i can't see anything in my defined subscreen.
    Any suggestions ?

    Hi,
    The above requirement is not possible without using logical database.
    The reason is that the compiler identifies the below syntax only inside a LDB program .
    SELECTION-SCREEN DYNAMIC SELECTIONS
                     FOR {NODE|TABLE} node [ID id].
    The above syntax creates a subscreen container on the standard selection screen of the program during generation
    and we are able to view the dynamic selections icon on the selection screen.
    Hence it is not possible to use the FM 'FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG' as a subscreen without using a
    logical database of the relevant table.
    However if you dont want to create a new LDB for each table, there is a trick which needs to be performed
    once in your SAP system and all custom programs can use this FM to create a dynamic selection screen
    as a subscreen of the standard selection screen.
    The prerequisite steps are as follows:
    1: Create a dummy  / test database table in SE11 with a single field i.e. for example mandt , matnr
    2: Create a new logical database program for this table in SE36. Save and activate.
    This will create dynamic selections for the fields of the table created in step 1.
    Steps to be followed in the required custom ABAP program to create the dynamic selection screen as a subscreen.
    A: Include the LDB program created in step 2, in the attributes of the custom ABAP program.
    Now when you execute the program, you can see the dynamic selection icon for the dummy table created in step 1.
    B: In your custom program we need to suppress the icon for 'Dynamic Selections' from the standard selection screen.
       We need to perform this action, because the 'Dynamic Selections' icon always triggers a call to the
       dynamic selection screen of the included LDB progam. ( In our case a dummy table created in step 1 ).
       Whereas we want to trigger a call of the dynamic selection screen of our desired table.
       Logic is as follows:
       In 'AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT' event call the FM RS_SET_SELSCREEN_STATUS to exclude the fcode 'DYNS'.
    C: Add a pushbutton / checkbox on your selection screen to trigger a call to the FM 'FREE_SELECTIONS_INIT' &
       'FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG' in the 'AT SELECTION-SCREEN' event.
    D: When the user clicks the pushbutton / checkbox for dynamic selections call the above 2 FM for the desired table
        with the AS_SUBSCREEN flag of FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG = 'X'
    Result: Your dynamic selections screen will be created as a subscreen of the standard selection screen and not as a pop-up.
    Advantage: With the creation of the single custom table & LDB, you are now able to create dynamic selections as subscreen
    in any program in the system. All we need to do is follow the steps A, B & C in each program.
    Note: Your other restrictions with dynamic selection screen ie. submit in background , save as variant still remain and
    you need to handle them accordingly.

    My selection-screen values are getting refreshed after execution and come back to selection screen. I am using normal ALV Fm to display the values. Can some suggest a possible reason?

  • My iPod is stuck on Language Selection screen

    My iPod Nano 7th generation is stuck on language selection screen. Language can be selected but "Done" button cannot be pressed.

    Sounds like a hardware malfunction with the device.  Could be the clickwheel itself or the logicboard.  Either way, you'll need to send your iPod in for service if you want to be able to use it again.
