Selling classes on Adobe connect?

I have just gone through the introduction on creating and managing events, however, I need to know whether I can sell my classes through the system as well. Right now, we have a shopify site where users can purchase the classes.  Our classes are for sale so they are not simply registering for the event. The students have to purchase the classes.  Is there any payment gateway integration such as paypal or do we have to provide a bank in account number and then register the student once payment is processed?

You will need to have your own payment gateway, Adobe doesn't provide that. If you have one in place and want to use the API's to register the individual once they have paid, that is a good path to take. You can also look to 3rd party options. One that I know of is http://www.cyourteam.com.

  • How to download an Adobe Connect presentation from a website

    Hi Adobe Community,
I'm taking a virtual course and they use Adobe Connect for our virtual classroom. After the class, the Adobe Connect presentation is saved on the course website. How do I download this presentation?

If the Host of the meeting chooses, they can make an FLV version and provide that to you (there is also the option for MP4, but since that is an additional cost to the organization providing the training, they may not opt to to that). Connect doesn't record the meetings in a video format, as you can see by the pods remaining interactive. If this is a need of yours, please reach out to the individual(s) who manage your online training and request that they provide you with such.

  • Adobe connect with satellite

    Hi,
I teach classes using adobe connect.  We are thinking of moving out in the country to an area that can only get satellite internet.  Do any of you know if it is possible to use adobe connect with satellite?  I called the help line and asked but they could only say that they don't recommend it, but they don't really know.  The area has two providers, hughes and wildblue.  Anyone have any experience with this?
    Thanks,
    Teresa

Let's be clear about consumer satellite internet versus commercial and military grade. These are completely different worlds. Understand that Adobe Connect is designed for and sold specifically to corporations, governernment agencies and universities. In that light, most of the target customer set would be using commercial grade internet connections. However, some proportion of users would be on consumer grade connections like DirecTV (now HugesNet). Having supported HughesNet while I worked at IBM in this space, they have lots of different connection types for universities and enterprise customers. Most of these customers have selected speeds that will work with any web conference solution. Having been a customer of HughesNet there are several consumer grade speeds and it would be best to have the higher speed version. The US Goverment has their own satelite netwrok and they use Connect all the time that way. Now, that being said understand that satelite networks have a very large latency factor that will affect the quality of any web conference. Latency is not really a problem except when you try to share webcams, video or MP3 files via Connect. The military tries to minimize the use of these multi-media types because latency affects the quality of the video. It can get quite choppy no matter what web conference you use because of the video needing a lot of bandwidth back and forth.
So. let the buyer beware but if you have no other option than satellite pay the extra dollars for the highest package you can get.
Another option might be celluar 3G or 4LTE. Adobe Connect works great on cellular networks so don't forget to see if that is an option. Might not be if the data plans limit the traffic though!
    Hope that helps.

  • How can I get my web cam to work in Adobe Connect ?

This is actually an end user's question that I am having trouble answering to...
We use Adobe Connect to give online language classes, the end user is one of the students.
I cannot find the right Support answer to give him.
    Problem:
My camera does not work when I connect to Adobe's rooms but camera works fine with other software.
Even though I suspected my old camera was working fine, yesterday I went ahead and bought a new camera.
I thought perhaps my webcam software may have been a problem, so I bought a different type camera with different software.
Even after removing all the old software, same result:
I surmised the problem might be caused by my firewall and security software, so once I tried changing the permissions for Adobe, and my Webcam, but that didn’t work.
Another time, I restarted my computer right before class and then turned off my firewall completely so there would be no interference but to no avail. I’m totally perplexed.
Isn’t there anyone else experiencing a similar problem?   Has anyone else found a solution?
I run Windows Vista with McAfee Internet Security Software.  I always reboot the computer before class and open no other programs other than Google Chrome.
I now have a brand new Microsoft LifeCam Cinema Camera with LifeCam 3.5 Webcam Software.
I test my camera before going online.  It always works fine.   Then I shut down the camera program and login into class.
When I “connect webcam” in the room, the light on my camera comes on (suggesting that it is ON), but only a black image is transmitted to the room.

Check to see if you have Google Voice installed. If so, remove it and see
if your problem vanishes. If not Google Voice, check to see if you have
any other communications software which interacts with your cam and
disable it. This was the problem I had with a similar problem on a Mac.

Thanks a lot Heyward for the swift reply !
I sent the advice out to the end user, but unfortunately this wasn't the
    solution.
    His reply is below :-
The default resolution of my new camera is already set at 640x360, but I
went ahead and tried several lower resolutions (e.g. 424x240; 320x240; and
160x120) but none worked in the room - camera still showed up as black
blank screen.  Also, as far as I can tell, I don’t have the option of
    adjusting the frame rate.
I started playing around with my Internet Security Settings to see if they
might be playing a role. So far, all to no avail.
Hmm...quite a tricky one - webcams always are - maybe if he can find a way
to adjust the frame rate (?).
He's going to fiddle about with the settings a bit more and see if
    something does the trick.
If anyone has had a similar problem and found an ingenious solution,
please jot on a note on this thread.

  • Cannot advance through Captivate quiz after publishing to Adobe Connect.

We use Adobe Connect to present live on-line webinars to our students. We have been using Captivate to survey the students at the beginning and end of each class. I created quizzes in Captivate and published them to our Connect server. Most of the time the quizzes work fine. But some students are not able to click the submit button and advance through the quiz. Any ideas why some participants wouldn't be able to complete Captivate quizzes?

I will try that with our classes today. The weird thing is that we have 3 meeting rooms that we use these Captivate surveys in, and the same student can complete the survey in one meeting room but not another.

  • Integration of Adobe Connect to a PHP website

    Hi friends,
I am really a newbie here, the only thing which I know is
that I have to integrate the adobe connect to a website (developed
in PHP ) through which they can arranage a virtual class (via live
broadcast), as I really said it will be my first experience to do
things like this. So I need to know what sort of information (like
server url or username etc etc) I need to have in order to do this
and as I saw after getting connect to the server the server sends
an XML response after that, so how that response would be helpful
for me, how can I convert that response to a live broadcast, I
believe its a real beginner's question but I have to do it,
Thanks in advance for your valueable feedbacks

    HI,
Yes, this is Possible.  You can use AppIntegrator Iview and Pass the URL for your Adobe Connect.
    Thanks and Regards

  • ADOBE Connect Web Service Transaction ID

    Hi All,
Hope I can make my question clear, but here goes.
We are integrating an LMS into ADOBE Connect , so far so good. Managed to write all our intergration classes and all is working great. My question is as follows, If we launch a URL (SCO Content) the content launches and we can see the "attempt" via the report-user-training-transcripts webservice. This works well if we assume that all attempts are going to be logged and the users internet is working correctly etc.
Is there a way when we launch to uniquely identify what the "transaction-id" will be. This means on our LMS side we know we launched with this transaction-id and when we read the transcript we can just filter for that specifictransaction-id. If there is no transaction-id this could be that the user closed before the content launched or there was a network issue.
In short I want to know what SCO I am launching from the LMS to match the attempt with the transaction-id. I have tried to send through a custom field, but it does not pull through on the report..
    Any suggestions would help?
    Regards,
    Gavin

  • RDS server message: could not initialize class com.adobe.rds.core.services.Messages

I just moved to a new host with my own dedicated cloud server.  Using CF9.  Everything seems to be working fine with the server, but i get the following error when connecting to it via RDS through CF Builder 2.
RDS server message: could not initialize class com.adobe.rds.core.services.Messages
I get it when i first connect to the server, then if i try to access it again, it will let me in.  I also get an error when i try to open the first file.  Then its ok.
I have no idea what it can be, i have not run into this on any other server that I have connected to.

    Hello,
After 2 months of it not working for love or money.  I got a new machine and ColdFusion Builder 2 and started over.  It worked for a while.  Then when the trial version timed out a few days ago it killed it again.  With the same error.  So it is definitely something that gets “switched” within the code or configuration settings.   Rebooting about 3x seemed to fix it this time after entering the license number.
Yes to answer your questions below.  Yes, I did all those things below. Re-checked and checked numerous times.  Keep in mind the installation there worked for over a year then all of a sudden stopped.   I hadn’t changed anything at all.  And it just stopped dead, started throwing up that error.
I asked all the experts in my office.  One guy knows CF and Java inside and out and could not figure it out.  I searched the web and the issue is listed many times but with no real answers.
Thanks for getting back to me.  I am up and running with new machine.  But since I’ve seen the error on this machine now, I live in fear it will reappear and stop working.  So if you come up with any thoughts I would appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    -Lyle

  • Problems with Adobe Connect on a MacBook

I need to download Adobe Connect to take an online class. However, it doesn't load--I just get a popup that says "Loading Adobe Connect". I have a MacBook Pro, running Maverick (OS X 10.9.2). The browser I was using is Firefox.

I believe the meeting is being opened in the Connect Addin. What is the version of Connect Addin you are using ?
Are you able to launch the meeting directly in the browser ?
Please try by appending "?launcher=false" at the end of the meeting URL you are trying to open in the browser. This will ensure that meeting gets launched in the browser and not in the Addin.
Once the meeting launches and you want to share your screen you will be prompted to download the Addin in case it is not up to date.

  • Mac: Flash causes "excessive wakeups" during Adobe Connect meetings

I posted a message that can be found here last November where Flash was causing Adobe Connect meetings to crash every few minutes.  Since then, there's a new version of Flash (13.0.0.182) and the school has updated their Adobe Connect platform.  However, the problem is still there.
If it's a meeting with 2 or 3 people everything is fine.  The issue is only present when in a "class" where there are many people (like 8-15) using webcams at once and the instructor is sharing slides or something.  In this situation the meeting window either freezes or restarts every few minutes and upon examining the console log there is a corresponding message stating:
4/15/14 18:57:27.000 kernel[0]: process PluginProcess[1877] caught causing excessive wakeups. Observed wakeups rate (per sec): 172; Maximum permitted wakeups rate (per sec): 150; Observation period: 300 seconds; Task lifetime number of wakeups: 180731
    4/15/14 18:57:27.867 ReportCrash[1980]: Invoking spindump for pid=1877 wakeups_rate=172 duration=262 because of excessive wakeups
This happened when using Safari 7.0.2.  When using firefox there is a similar message (only "plugin-container" instead of "PluginProcess" causes the excessive wakeups.  And with Firefox, the wakeup rate tends to be around 1500, not just 172).
    A couple notes:
    1) I've already gone into Safari preferences and allowed Flash to "Run Always" and "Run in Unsafe Mode" for the domain.
    2) I've already removed the Adobe Connect Add-in to eliminate that as a possible source of the problem.  When I examine the Diagnostic Reports in /Library/Logs it's clearly the Flash plugin that's causing the problem, or some interaction between the plugin and the QT Framework, or something.  I don't know.
    3) I've already contacted Apple and (not surprisingly) they told me it's not their problem and to contact Adobe.
    4) Before someone asks - YES my install of Mavericks is a "clean" install.
    5) Adobe Connect works fine on a windows machine on the same connection.
    6) Troubleshooting steps have included reducing the video resolution, disabling hardware acceleration, deleting the preferences files, clearing cache, clearing local storage from the Flash preferences pane, removing and reinstalling the plugin, etc. etc.
Back when I had Mountain Lion there were problems like this in Safari, and the work-around was to use Firefox or Chrome.  Now it appears it just doesn't work, period.  Has anyone else run into this and is there a work-around?  Thanks.
    -AA

Yep - makes sense, however that box has been unchecked the whole time.  Also the same thing happens in Firefox which would seem to eliminate that feature as the culprit.
After researching "excessive wakeups" on other forums it appears there are some similar complaints about PhotoShop, Final Cut, EyeTV, google earth, basically graphics-intensive programs - I can't find any others about Adobe Connect, although the IT folks at the school have told me it's a well-known issue.  I suspect it has something to do with the way Flash interacts with the frameworks in Mavericks but I'm just guessing -  wondering if anyone else has seen this happen or knows a work-around?

  • Adobe Connect Open GL Issues & connection Problems

    Hello again,
I figured I would pass on these two Connect links that shows the challenges that I have been having with Adobe Connect.  The first shows me teaching the Pen tool to a class  and notice that the path does not show up in Connect.  This was brought to my attention by a phone call by one of my students.
The second is the Dave Cross presentation.  In the beginning I had a heck of time getting him connected.  We tried several browsers and had both video and audio connection challenges.

    Dave Cross: http://experts.adobeconnect.com/p5xsltgn0zf/

It sounds like a network issue. You say you have connected in different locations, did you connect in a location where others were not having the issue? Could your IT staff work with you to identify why you may be having connectivity issues?
If everyone was experiencing the problem, then I'd be inclined to say it was an issue with your Connect account, but being isolated to you, it seems like the problem may be local. Sometimes wireless routers get overwhelmed in busy environments, and may cause some individuals to see temporarily lost connectivity. Other times it may just be a wireless router going bad. If you are hard wired, then it may be router that is beginning to fail. Be sure that when you test other locations, you are connecting to different hardware.
Since you are running the add-in, I don't believe the browser should make any difference.

  • Adobe Connect Add-in

I downloaded the add-in to watch recorded webinars from my classes but when I click on the link it opens a new window and says the add-in is not downloaded. I click on the troubleshooting link and run the test and it is fine and says its downloaded, but I still cant get the recordings to work. I can go to the link to join a live webinar and it works but not the recordings.

I believe it's an add-on for your browser so you can attend Adobe Connect web conferences and presentations.
At any rate, this forum is for Adobe Reader. You may want to look around the Connect forum at http://forums.adobe.com/community/adobeconnect

  • Adobe Connect Add-In ques

Not tech savvy... need to use Adobe Connect for an online class I'm about to start... when I checked my Mac system readiness I got a message that I should Add-In for better service... clicked on link to do so... nothing happened... don't understand what Add-In is (do I need a webcam or something?)... thanx

You will need the Addin in case you want to share your screen. In case you just want to attend the online class without the need to share your screen you can simply open it in the browser. You will just need the Flash Player plugin.
Also please check the following link in case you want to use the Addin on Mac:

  • Adobe Connect Pro Reports

I'd like to run and download a report that lists the
completion status for each student in each course enrolled. I can
do it one student at a time, but the output is not downloadable.
I'm using the Adobe Connect standard tools off the UI. Is there a
more sophistocated way to access the content in the Adobe Connect
database? This is pretty useless as is for what I need. A simple
report will probably take a day's worth of manual labor... unless
    I'm compleley missing something.
    Thanks,
    Sherry

I realize this discussion is a couple of years old but I am having a very similar problem and just as much trouble trying to solve it....so I am really hoping to find some help here!
I work as a corporate trainer for an organization of 800+ employees.  A new part of the annual performance evaluations, the employees are going to enroll & participate in recorded training classes that are available to them.  The Training department has created the list of several dozen courses which the employee may choose from.
My problem is this - my department & I need to generate a report that displays the users who have participated in any training over a set period of time.
For example: "100 employees took 17 classes in the month of July".
I have fiddled around with the "System Usage Report" and a few others but they are not as helpful or as inclusive as we need them to be.  The only option I am seeing at this point is running separate reports for each course and then compiling all of that data into one master list.  I feel that will take an obsene amount of work, especially for something that will have to be regularly (like every month).
Any assistance or insight that anyone can offer is greatly appreciated!

  • Accessibility and Adobe Connect

I have a class that is interested in watching an educational webinar I'm presenting in May. The class has deaf students and the teacher was wondering if Adobe Connect has captioning or any other options to make the webinar more accessible.
    Thanks for your help!

There is a Closed Captions Pod here: http://www.adobe.com/products/adobeconnect/extend.html#3
You can find all the accesability info on Connect here: http://www.adobe.com/accessibility/products/compliance/index.html#adobeconnect8
