SEM-BPS How to retract Revenue item ,NPV, Pay back Period ,IRR in IM(ECC)

Hi ,
I appreciate if someone guide me on how to retract from BPS planning layout , revenue items ,Pay back period , NPV, IRR into Investment Management (ECC). I am able to post investment cost and overhead cost ,but stuck with all above items .
Thanks in advance,
Thanks & Regards,
Rajiv Jain

Hi ALL,,
you can only
push back planned (investment and overhead) costs; the retraction of
revenues, NPV, payback period etc. is  n o t  supported at all.
As a workaround maybe you can somehow read the values to be pushed back
in the SEM system via customer owned program in SEM and then use the
corresponding BAPI function modules to update appropriation requests in
ERP via RFC call of these BAPIs: Please use
-  function module BAPI_APPREQUEST_SETPLANVALUES
to update (plan or) revenue values
-  function module BAPI_APPREQUEST_CHANGEVARIANT
to update profitability analysis values (NPV, payback period ... ).
Thanks & Regards,
Rajiv Jain

  • SEM Allocations - How do you make the Distribution work by Period not ***?

I have configured an SEM BPS Allocation function.
The function appears to work as expected except for the distribution values that are being used in the calculation. The distribution values being used are the cumulative total and not the period values.
    E.G...........................................P1.............P2........Total
    <b>Sender</b>
    Sender Value............................100............200..........300
    <b>Distribution Ratio's</b>
    Receiver 1...................................1...............7............8
    Receiver 2...................................2...............2............4
    Receiver 3...................................7...............1............8

    Receiver 1.................................40...............80........120
    Receiver 2.................................20...............40..........60
    Receiver 3.................................40...............80........120
Can anybody tell me what setting I am missing to tell the distribution to use period results rather than cumulative results?
    Many thanks

In the planning level I am using fiscal year and posting period. The posting period was set to be periods 1 to 12.
In the setup of an assessment function there are 4 input areas:
Sender - where I am choosing a sender cost center and identifying a secondary cost element.
Receiver - where I am identifying the cost centers to receive the assessment and the same secondary cost element (to be the same as R/3 assessments).
Trigger - identifying the range of cost elements where the original costs are held on the sender.
Distribution - where I identify the statistical key figures where the values are held to calculate distribution ratios over the receiving cost centers.
I have attempted to insert posting period into the assessment structure, but have been getting a message that posting period is included in a higher method, which did not appear to be the case.
In reviewing this while answering your initial questions, posting period is now able to be input into the structure, and the assessment appears to be working.
Thank you for trying to help.
This appears to be one of those strange items where some previous configuration had not cleared in the relevant tables.

  • SEM-BPS how to load additional data for special users at runtime?

Let´s assume you have a transactional info cube which contains SD Data from the source system.
If you want to show additional data, let´s say the attributes of the sold materials which can be read in the table MARA of the source system (provided you use R/3, etc.)
and you only want to show this data for a small amount of users, which need to see it, then i wonder how to do  this.
am i right, that i can use the exit functions to init key figures, i.e. i could write some code which connects to the source system over RFC, downloads the data at runtime and presents it at the users excel sheet????
moreover, is it necessary to extend the existing cube, just to achieve this aim?

    Hello Gideon,
there's no need to program anything. You can display any attribute in planning layouts. In your case you would extract the master data from material from SAP R/3 (MARA) into BW. The setup the layout to show the required attribute(s) in the layout in BPS.
If the attribute is relevant only for a specific user group, just give them access to this "special" layout (create a planning folder or web interface for this group).

  • Copy Documents - How to ... Documents in SEM-BPS and BW-BPS

    Hi Gurus,
i need some assistance with implementing the Copy Documents functions according to How to ... Documents in SEM-BPS and BW-BPS.
The aim is to copy the documents to a new version. All other document attributes are to remain unchanged.
I have already implemented the function as described in the How-To using UPF_DOC_COPY_EXIT and UPF_DOC_COPY_INIT. The copy-exit ist called but it doesn't work.
    - The target version is in the selection of the planning level.
    - All characteristics of the info cube are in the planning level.
    - There is no difference in the result using variables for the from / to values or using fixed values
Are there any hints to considder like:
    characteristic selection in the level
which characteristics to include in the exit parameters (e.g. all with document attribute = active)
for characteristics not to be changed, leave the from / to values in the exit parameters blank
funcition does not work on multi-planning-areas
Thanks in advance and best regards
    Steffen

    Hello Marc,
    thanks for your answer.
We are running BW350 with SP19. I checked the notes regarding comments.
"Note 1028233 - Key figure not taken into account for documents" is not implemented so far - SP20
Note 893377 - InfoProvider assignment of documents in BPS is not activated
As we are on SP19 all other comments are supposed to be implemented.
    RSA1 > Documents shows that
all documents created using the WebInterface are saved to the appropriate value combination (without InfoProvider assignment - as supposed)
no document is copied at all.
    Best regards

  • How to find BW-BPS Business Content / SEM-BPS Business Content

    Hi All
We have BW 3.5 and SEM 4.0 in our system. I am trying to find some Business Content for BPS. It seems that there is no Business content for BW-BPS. I know there is Business Content for SEM-BPS. My question is how do I get to the SEM-BPS Business Content. Is there any T-code or something to go and find the Business Content. I am trying to find a Planning area for Cost Center.
Please provide me with some details. I would appreciate any help ASAP.
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Nag

    Hi Nag,
The process is different to the normal BW process, instead of installing it directly on your client, you have to select the process in client 000 and then import in your working client.
    The process is as follows:
    1) log on to client 000 of your BW system
    2) goto transaction UPB_APPL_IMPORT (in client 000 of course) and click the planning function you want to install the busines content of
    3) run transaction UPB_APPL_IMPORT; this will generate a transport request
    4) release this transport in client 000
    5) import in the working client
Most of the planning areas are defined as remote planning areas, you will receive an error if you try to access them.
Switch to local planning areas in the planning area.
You also have to install the BW transactional cubes, this can be done using the normal BW business content transactions.
Thanks for your points, but only if I deserved them.

  • How to Remove totals on few columns from SEM BPS layout

On SEM BPS layout it has 10 5 charatestics columns
    and 10 key figure columns.
out of these key figures I want see totals on some
coulmns and for few columns I do not want to see totals.
for wxample it does not make sense of seeing total under
    the salary incrase percentage coulmn.
Please suggest anyway we can remove total for some
    columns on the layout

Hey, thanks -- everything worked as you described. It never would have occurred to me that the "put back" button refers to the browser selection not the layout selection, for reasons I give below.
I think Aperture exhibits some conceptual confusion here. First of all, a "light table" is created by the New > Light Table command, and you add images to the newly created light table just as you would add them to an album. But those images don't go on the light table layout until you drag them from the browser to the layout table. The "put back" button and "remove from light table" contextual menu command both mean remove from the layout. The phrasing of the contextual menu command make it sounds as if it will remove the clicked image from the light table's collection of images, like removing an image from an album -- it would have made more sense to name this command "put back". Furthermore, the "put back" button is above the layout display, not above the browser, which to me implies that it applies to selections in the layout display. To select an image in the browser, and click "put back selected" seems backwards -- if you just selected the image in the browser, your attention is focused on the browser, not the layout; from the browser's point of view, the button should read "bring back" not "put back".
The documentation didn't really help when I was trying to figure this out. Sometimes the Aperture documentation refers to just a "light table", as on the overview on page 732. On pages 733 and 734, though, it refers to a "light table album". On page 735 of the Aperture manual there is a very brief explanation of how "to add images to the light table" and "to remove an image from the light table". Here, "light table" refers to the layout not the album. The explanation of the "Put Back Selected" button says to select an image then click the button, and the picture shown is of an image selected in the layout, not in the browser.

  • How to do a Retractor to send data from SEM-BPS to R/3

    Hi Folks!
Can someone say to me how to do a Retractor, step by step, to send data from SEM-BPS to R/3.
Thanks a lot in advance for your input!
    Rocío.

    Hi Thorsten,
Yes, I know it. But I didn´t want make it make through queries.
I have read than for CO-PA there are standard functions that send the data to R/3, but I cannot make they work to me.
And in addition I will need to also create other Retractors for RRHH, and there are not standard  functions.
For that reason I needed know how to create a Retractor step by step.

  • BW SEM-BPS API functions from a Web Dynpro project in Netweaver

    Hi,
Rather than using the standard Web Interface Builder in BW SEM-BPS (3.1B), we have to use SAP Netweaver to create a Web Dynpro project which accesses all the API_SEMBPS functions, such as GETDATA, SETDATA, FUNCTION_EXECUTE etc. Has anyone done this before? If so, do you have any examples, hints?
    Regards,
    Linda Lee

    Hello Linda,
let me add some more remarks on this topic from the BW-BPS development perspective:
I completely agree with Marc's statement.
Thechnically it is possible to build a planning application UI on top of the BW-BPS API functions and we have some customers that are live with such a solution. However, I would recommend this only in 2 cases
    1. You need to create a tightly integrated application with BPS being only one part of several other components (including transactional UI, e.g. running against a CRM system).
    2. You prefer a UI technology that is not provided by SAP (e.g. Java Swing based).
In all other cases, I would say that one should stick to the Web Interface created with Web interface Builder, mainly for cost reasons. If this tool does not fulfill all your needs there are several possibilities to enhance and extend the generated web interfaces by custom specific coding (see also several How-To guides in this area; e.g. "How to integrate a BEx Web Template into a BPS Web interface").
Another possibility is to loosly couple several web UIs with the help of the portal.
To my knowledge, it is not true that BSP web technology will be obsolete shortly.
In general, I would always prefer a tool supported, model driven approach compared to a heavy custom coding. This is also in sync with SAPs general strategy to a more pattern based approach to create UIs.

    Hello Marc and Sander,
I checked the document status and tested the link myself using a PC external to the SAP environment and did not have any problem. You do have to be logged in to do this. If you are not, you should see a page that will appear which says that a login is required to use that feature. On some occassions, users see an error message instead. I apologize for that.

  • Report on process chains using SEM-BPS

We are looking to develop a tool to:
    1. Monitor data loads at the process chain level
    2. Within in the same tool, enter error resolution /
action steps for all failed loads
    3. Report out % of successful or failed loads, using the data captured by the tool.
We have studied the BW Tables rspcchain, rspcchainattr, rspclogchain, rspcprocesslog, rspclogs, rseventchain and
    rspcchaint.
We are considering the following options:
    1. Develop an ABAP report and allowing the process chain monitor to manually enter the error resolutions (Perhaps in a Z-Table)
    2. Create an InfoCube in BW using the above tables and then write a query, but we can not allow the user to enter error resolutions in the query.
    3. Create a transactional infocube in SEM-BPS using the above tables and use the input functionality of tansactional infocube to facilitate the error resolution report entry.
Can anyone suggest any alternate solution, or has anyone encountered similar requirement on project?
One more doubt to check: is there any way to create an infoobject with CHAR type to enter data with 1000 or more characters? Or is there any other alternative solution to it? The doubt is to take care of the text entry for the error resolution.
    Milind Vad

    Just some thoughts:
Have you considered using document service in BW or even KM (Portal) technology rather than CHAR 1000+ fields? This would give you more flexibility also on the type of document.
For loading there are monitors available (based on tables like RSMONMESS). If you are interested in loads only (and not other process types), maybe using information from the BW load monitor could be beneficial (like RSMONMESS) rather than the process chain stuff.
Maybe it's even worth having an InfoObjekt with a resolution code that links to a document describing the resolution with a key and whenever there is a new solution available create a new key with a new document. That would be most beneficial for reporting (like how many times has this problem / resolution occurred and the like).
