Sender File Adapter - Problem with field separator

Hi,
I want to upload a CSV file into XI.
The file contains a text part which uses from time to time quotation marks like this:
SD,575757,383838,N/A,XYZ,"This is a text part",7676
But besides there are lines like this:
SD,575757,777722,N/A,XDE,FREETEXT,7575
Has anyone any idea how to configure the file adapter to get it recognize the quotation marks not as field separator?
I've already tried the enclosureSign parameters but that leads to an total unconverted line.
Is it maybe possible to customize two field separators like this:
Structure.fieldSeparator - ,"

No, it doesn't work.
I've specified now:
Structure.fieldSeparator        ,
Structure.enclosureSign         "
Structure.enclosureSignEscape   ""
Every line without quotation marks is converted fine. Lines with quotation marks stay like in the original CSV file and the whole line is put into one XML tag (still comma separated).
Also the parameter fieldContentFormatting - nothing doesn't make a difference.
Other ideas?

Sender file Adapter, problem with proxy authentication

HI all,
i'm having some problems with the following scenario, i need to configure a sender file adapter which connects to a FTP server. To connect this FTP server i need to set a proxy (and so a username and a password), and i don't know how to do.
From note 821267 seems that the proxy is not supported for an FTP adapter, but the are some workaround like the ones described in the following link

They don't work in my case as i need to se two username (the one for proxy and the one for the ftp server) and i cannot force the proxy use for all XI applications.

Proxy is necessary to exit the customer local intranet. It's not possible to go outside network without going through the proxy server.
I cannot set the proxy server in file adapter as it's not supported like described in SAp note, a possible workarounf is to force the proxy server in the J2ee stack but in this way all PI calls would use that proxy..

Sender File Adapter Problem when text document is a single line.

Hi All,
I have posted this question earlier too. But did not get a proper answer.
I am using File adapter to fetch data from a file system.
My input data is: AA123BB45678AA345BB78564.
It is just reading the first segment i.e.AA123 and not reading the remaining.
How can I configure my Sender File adapter to pick this pattern of data? It works fine if I have line break after each record that is if the input is as below.
AA123
BB45678
AA345
BB78564
In the above there is a Line break after each segment. So File adapter picks it fine.
I have also tried using xml.A.endSeparator equals to blank in the module configuration. But it does not work either.
Can anyone throw some light to this?

You can get each line in the source structure in separate row as

Trying your way would be a limitation on file adapter I think..Let me know if this helps..I can give you the content conversion config for this model..

RecordSet Seq - Row, *
Recordsets/msg - *
row.fieldSeparator - 'nl'
row.endSeparator - 'nl'
row.fieldNames - 'rowElt
..So each line will be pulled into a single Row in the source structure and then u can apply a specific mapping to split into 2 fields for your target

Hi,
with multiple nodes structure( like header and item in your case) you need to have a key field to process this file to a desidered structure using FCC.
Alternatively you can pick all these records as a single node type and classify it as header/items in your mapping by identifiing how each one differs frm other.

Sender file adapter content with repeating structure

i have a scenario where my source file could have the following structure:
node1 (1:1)
node2 (0:1)
node3 (0:n)
node1 (1:1)
node2 (0:1)
node3 (0:n)
each node will have many fields. the three different nodes can repeat like this unbounded times. how would i define my content conversion and my data type to capture this structure? any help is appreciated.

Document Name "your doc_name"
Document Namespace "your name space"
Recordset structure node1,1,node2,1,node3,*,
Key Field Name Record Type
Key Field Type String
To differentiate the incomings to each nodes, we need a key value
say 01 for each node1 (you can use your own) *
Entry in FCC (below table)
node1.fieldFixedLengths "enter the length of the fields separated by commas
node1.fieldNames "specify the actual fieldnames separated by comma (no whitespace)
node1.keyFieldValue "enter the key value - for node1 i took as 01" *
make same entries for all the nodes

Sender File adapter problem

Hi,
I have File to JDBC sceanrio, File is on FTP server and data is added in file in every 15 mint. while adding data to file its takes some time.
My problem : when data is being added to file, sender adapter picks the file when addition of data is not completed. so it picks incomplete file and send to target.
What can be the possible solution to be used for this problem or what configurtaion can be done in CC required.

is PI picking file in NFS mode or FTP mode?
With NFS mode, you can use setting wait for file modification check. Same setting is available for FTP but it doesnt not work for FTP.
Another option could be ask Source system to generate file with a temporary name & rename once file is writen completely.

Content conversion in sender file adapter problem

Hello,
I receive a flat file with the following structure:
HEADER;...fields;
ITEM;...fields;
ITEM;...fields...;
HEADER;...fields;
ITEM;...fields...;
...etc.
and I am converting it to xml with the same structure. The Problem by the conversion is that the result looks something like this:
HEADER;...fields;
ITEM;...fields;
ITEM;...fields;
ITEM;...fields;
HEADER;...fields
HEADER;...fields.
So, all the ITEM recordsets are ordered to one HEADER structure and the other HEADER structures have no ITEMs.
Do you have a suggestion how I can get this right?

Receiver File Adapter: Problem with NewLine Content Conversion Parameter

Hello Everybody
On our SAP-XI (SAP NetWeaver 2004s, sp14) I have the scenario to send a price catalogue (IDoc PRICECATALOGUE.PRICECATALOGUE02) from SAP R/3 as csv PRICAT file to a file share.
In the receiver communication channel I have defined
Message Protocol = File Content Conversion
using the following RecordSet:
RecordSet = HeaderRow,MainBody
One header row is followed by one or more main body rows. The csv PRICAT message format demands that there is an empty row (i.e. one carriage return) between header and main body and another carriage return after the last main body row:
<Header Row>
carriage return
<MainBody 1>
<MainBody 2>
carriage return
As content conversion parameters I tried to use NewLine ('nl') to create the carriage returns in the file:
HeaderRow.fieldSeparator = ,
HeaderRow.endSeparator = 'nl' " new line
MainBody.fieldSeparator = ,
MainBody.endSeparator = 'nl'
Using the settings I have been able to created the carriage return at the end of the file but not the one between header and main body.
As workaround I have used the following approach:

 </value>
 </SeparatorLine>
RecordSet and parameters have been changed accordingly:

Thanks for reply. I have already used 'nl'.
When i open into the notepad it is showing [] boxes rather then new line.
e.g. 1 [] 2 []
but when we open into wordpad it opens properly.
Customer wants when he opens in notepad it should show line by line.
e.g.

When i tested the scenario and monitored it using MDT in CC monitoring tool its giving me below mentioned error.
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource 'http://myurlname/mdt/me...
However if i change the occurence of DATA as some specific value for eg 4 instead of * it works fine.
Kindly help me in solving this problem.

Sender File Adapter - FCC - No incoming field separator - How to do FCC?

I have a sender File adapter and I need to do the File Content Conversion but there apparently no incoming field separator and the file ocntains just running text - no data records but just information.
For example the incoming file is something like:

The Message type that I am mapping to contains:

This is so that the information can be mapped to different field areas and send across to the Receiver Mail Adapter. In the mail i receive, i get the running text. I tried giving the field separator as '0x09' but it is not working.
I have also tried WA..fieldContentFormatting to nothing but again no luck.
I have tried with Recordset Sequence with Ascending and variable and have also tried Recordsets per Message with * and blank - but it did not help.
Please advice.

I assumed that it was tab but when I made the change in FCC, it did not work.
I would still like to have a output where it looks like below if more than 2 types of information in 1 line as below:
ABC IAL LIMITED                     ABU DHABI, UAE
ABC MIDDLE EAST                  Account No. 001-9999999999999
and not something like:
ABC IAL LIMITED ABU DHABI, UAE
ABC MIDDLE EAST Account No. 001-999999999999
I am not sure what to do here.

Sender File Adapter. Fixed Lengths and Field Separator

I have a doubt in Sender File Adapter with Content Conversion.
I have a text file like:
a,b,c,,e
I have the configuration in the adapter:
Register.fieldNames: a,b,c,d,e
Register.fieldSeparator: ,
The question I have is can I format the length of the text when i create the XML?
I woul like to create the XML like:
<Row>
<Register>
 <a>a </a>
 <a>b </a>
 <a>c </a>
 <a> </a>
 <a>e </a>
</Register>
</Row>
I would like that when I create the file in Field A I have length = 4, but I have only 1 in the entry, and I want to fill the rest of the length with spaces.
I tried with FieldFixedLengths but when I test it the fields are not being formatted and take the commas as part of the field.
I know that this can be done in Receiver File Adapter, you leave for example one field of 5 length and you format it to 12 length with spaces.
Is this possible for Sender File ADapter?

See the example given in this bog, in this blog the string has been splited into different fields as per the field length, so you may use the same concept to get your output.

I am doing File( Flat File ) to RFC Scenario.it is working fine..
the problem comes in mapping with multiple records.
FCC at sender file adapter is used
my Data Type are :
Source DT Target RFC import parameter(table).

*->>multiple occurence
E2ED20 and E2E24 are 2 segment ,KEY is used in FCC to identify E2EDL20 & E2EDL24
My source text file is like this :

E2EDL24 efg
E2EDL24 mln

E2EDL24 gty
so the payload should be :

in FCC ignoer record set= true
otherwise is not called...
i try to use split by value & use oneasmany , not helpfull.
in message mapping when i checked th field VBELN -> display queue
i am getting an array 0200
 0201
 0202 in white fields

File Content Conversion Problem: Sender File Adapter

In Sender File Adapter, how to spilt the single line into different lines using + as a separator. Plz see below my source file.

In above txt file there are 3 lines.
1st line starts with #SMESS
2nd line starts with COPS
3rd line starts with #EMESS.
In 2nd line, if u observe there are 3 lines separating by +. My task is, I have to spilt the 2nd line into 3 lines using + separator.
I already used the xx.endSeparator as '+' to spilt the line but it is not working....
Could anyone help me how to do this. This is very urgent

Archive file with errors in sender file adapter not working! please help!

I have a file to RFC scenario. the input is a XML file. I have setup the flag in sender file adapter channel for archiving the input files with errors. But it is not working.
For testing I have used an invalid xML file for example without the main XML tag. I have also tested with a MSWORD file saved with.xml extension. But in both the cases the files are not getting archived.
My archive location permissions are fine and in fact normal archive operation is happening. That is, if I select the processing mode as "Archive" and gave the Archive directory then files are getting archived. The problem is only with the "Archive faulty source files" option.
