Sender Synchronous HTTP Adapter

My Scenario   HTTP (Synchronous) to XI to R/3(Synchronous RFC)
My question: How do I create a Sender Agreement for this Scenario, because I am going to use the HTTP Synchronous adapter on the Sender Side? I am bit confused.  I have used the Receiver RFC Adapter. We are on SP 17.
Thanks a lot.

Hi,
Create  communication channels. One for Http as a sender and one for your receiver
The Receiver Agreement for Idoc. HTTP doesn’t need a sender agreement.
The Receiver Determination and Interface Determination.
You should also have a HTTP client to send message to XI.
Normally seperate tool (code) is used but the easiest is as below
You can go to RWB (from XI server homepage)->Comp Monitoring -> Display All ->Int Server-> Int Engine
In the bottom, you find 3 tabs, select the test message tab to post messages.
Pls note that, when you need to test, you should have created the scenario in IR/ID (and u can use the details of Recr Determination ID) to fill in the details.
This might help you

no its not possible to hard code HTTP URL somewhere.
in order to reduce the length of URL what you can do is that you can shorten the names of all the objects like interface name, business system, party etc.
for e.g instead of calling the interface as <i>myInterface</i>,you can call it <i>MI_1</i>,
similarly you can shorten the length of all the objects thereby shrinking the whole URL length.
its a dirty workaround but would shorten the URL length

  • Using extra attributes in plain Http Adapter

    Hi All,
I am using a Plain HTTP Adapter to send messages to XI. This is working fine but i'm facing a problem with HTTP variables.
I need to send a flag as an http variable that identifies the message as a new message or not. It's important for me that this variable is reachable in the Receiver Determination so i can create a routing rule based on that. I've read this help from sap (<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/64db4daf9f30b4e10000000a11466f/content.htm">Configuring the Sender Plain HTTP Adapter</a>), but i couldn't find a place to set the "Adapter-Specific Message Attributes".
Thanks a lot for any help.
    Regards,
    Leonardo Tayt-son

In your Sender HTTP Adapter, check out for "Adapter-Specific Message Attributes" section (usually, it's the last section). Mark the "Use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes" checkbox. Then, mark "Apply URL Parameters" checkbox and enter a name for Parameter 1 (for example, New).
Then, your incoming http URL shoud be something like http://<application_hostname>?New=true .
And in your receiver determination, go to condition editor for each Business System, and enter expression editor for left expression. Check "Context Object" and select "URLParamOne" parameter from "http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/HTTP" namespace. For the right expression, use the value you want.
Them you can use your condition like
If (URLParamOne = true) send to BS 1
If (URLParamOne = false) send to BS 2

  • HTTP adapter question - how to tell what URL was used in the runtime

I need to know the URL information used when sending via HTTP adapter. I cannot find this information in the SXMB_MONI trace under SOAP header or in any other place.

  • Could someone help me to clearly distinguish between SOAP and HTTP adapter?

In which scenarios we can go for HTTP adapter and when to go for SOAP adapter?

    Hi Lekshmi !!
A SOAP message will be bundled inside the soap envelope.HTTP is not an adapter in adapter engine whereas soap is an adapter i.e, HTTP doesn't require a communication channel where as SOAP requires. You can send soap messages using some SOAP client.
SOAP Adapter is used to xchange SOAP messages bw remote clients and webservices....
check this link for more differences..
    SOAP and HTTP adapter
When you need to Send Data to XI from a Webservice , your SOAP adapter is used.
HTTP adapter is used when you want to post a HTTP request message from a web application to XI.
How can i make use of SOAP Sender Adapter without using any tools like XML Spy etc....
XML SPy is used as a TEST tool when you are sending SOAP information to XI. TO actually send data , you need to configure a webservice and construct a SOAP request message and post the data .
we use SOAP adapter when we need to connect to remote system or use Webservices in these cases we use SOAP adapter.
HTTP Adapter is used by extenal systems to connect to Intergartin server using native HTTP Interface.
the http adapter is a service which is directly connected to integration engine. Adapter Framework (Java) isnt involved. It is much more performant than SOAP adapter.
The SOAP adapter is written in Java and is responsible for the SOAP envelope around the real XML message. You can build/remove that envelope as well in the mapping and use instead http adapter. But standard for webservices is using SOAP adapter.

  • Http adapter at sender side for synchronous interface

    Hi SapAll.
here for one synchronous interface we using http adapter at sender side.
i just want to know on how i can get the sender ip adress or url through which they sending the data.
will be waiting for best asnwer.

Http adapter at sender side for synchronous interface
i cont see any messages in xi producction.
Is LOGGING_SYNC enabled for your production box....also is the problem just about the visibility of the messages or is your scenario itself not getting executed?
At least the sender application might have received some error response if posting message to XI was a failure....also if possible check the message monitoring in RWB if you feel an error has occured.

  • ERD not determined while using plain http adapter as Sender

  • Synchronous HTTP scenario having a ? sender

    Hi Experts
I've a synchronous scenario in which the sender can be any adapter but the receiver is only HTTP.
The sender is supposed to send a file (can be xml or pdf) and 10 attributes (name/value pair) which are used for receiver HTTP adapter communication.
The receiver system receives the same file and 10 attributes having name and value using POST method.
    Now, 2 questions
    a) how do I configure HTTP receiver adapter for fulfilling this scenario? (for xml and for pdf ) along with 10 attributes which is common for both xml and pdf )  - If it is pdf, I have to send as byte array and if xml, then plain xml - Please detail out the configuration for receiver HTTP adapter
    b) how do I decide what would the ideal sender communication channel for this? The sender system is flexible and asking me what I prefer for sending the file and the 10 attributes.
Thanks a lot. Please let me know
    mike

    Okay..sorry to confuse
In plain simple way to put it
    Scenario
Sender (web methods) -> PO 7.4 -> Receiver HTTP POST (synchronous)
Receiver HTTP system has to receive a file as one attribute and 10 other attributes
File can be pdf or xml. So definitely, I have to configure 2 ICO here one for pdf and other for xml.
    1st question
How do I configure the receiver HTTP adapter and pass the attribute values to HTTP POST method using message mapping? One attribute is file and rest are name value pair attributes coming from web methods.
    2nd question
Sender is web methods and they are willing to send the file and attributes to PI in a soap call or HTTP or place in PI NFS location - which is better and how do I receive the attributes and file together in one request?
    thx

  • Https on sender http adapter

    Hello Gurus,
we have a synchronous XI from HTTP Sender adapter to RFC. The user of the interface would like to call it using the plain HTTP adapter with HTTPS. When we use the http port with the XI user/password as part of the url, it works OK. When we switch to the HTTPS port the interface does not provide a response. When we call the https url directly in Internet Explorer we get a pop-up requesting the user/password. Once
this is entered the interface works OK until the ie session in closed.
So can you please tell me what might be d problem?
If i m calling it from http client it is not giving me response, and if m calling it directly then also it is asking for user id and password.
    Any help is appriciated.

  • How to send the payload to a jsp using receiver Http adapter?

    Hi experts,
I have this scenario from Legacy to XI to external app server.I have a test jsp to execute that functionality .Its a jsp which has 1 textarea named "test" and when I click on the submit buton I get a response back. This way I am able to test this independently. Now from XI when I am executing my scenario I am getting status code '1250' and message as ' http request(test) is null'.Now in the scenario in http adapter I just provide the target host : ip of server ,
service number : port no ,
path: the container or the request handler. But this scenario fails and gives me the above erroneous response. Now Basically I am not able to get how to send the value to the textarea "test"? please provide help as soon as possible.Do we have to put the name of the jsp in the "path" in http adapter and use prolog as test=.I tried this but it doesnt work.
Is there any way to check the URL that it forms after appending the querystring in the url ...?
So please provide help on this or suggest a solution to [email protected] as soon as possible.....
    Thanx in advance.
    Akshata

    hey Shekhar,
thanx for that prompt reply but I have configured the communication channel in the same manner as suggested by u.
actually I have this jsp page http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8080/abcdef/try/efg.jsp where there is a textarea "test" which has to be filled and there is a submit button. When I test this http client i.e the above jsp page independently then it goes to handler
http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8080/abcdef/trial/    And it gives a proper response message after clicking on the submit button.
now I want to carry out the same using receiver http adapter. I need to pass the value for this inputfield names "test" on that jsp . so right now I have configyured the adapter as
    addressing type: url
    target host : xx.xx.xx.xx
    service no:8080
path : here I have given the path of handler i.e /abcdef/trial I tried giving the jsp page also but logically I guess it should be the handler.
    content type: text/xml; charset=iso-8859-1
    xml code: UTF-8
Mask special characters (URL escaping) checked.
now since the name of the inputfield is "test" in the prolog I gave test=
But it doesnt work I get this error "http request parameter [test] is null" in the response message  which I guess suggests that it is not able to send the value for the field"test" to that handler. Please suggest how to send this and tell me if there are any other configurations that I have to do in the receiver communication channel.
    Thanx ,
    Akshata

  • How to send XML file into XI using sender HTTP adapter

I am using HTTP sender adapter to post the XML file into XI. I tried to form the URL by using the following String query , but I am unable to execute file.
    String urlString = "http://<servername:portno>/sap/xi/adapter_plain?namespace=<namespace>&interface=<interface name>&service=<service name>&party=&agency=&scheme=&QOS=BE&sap-user=xiappluser&sap-password=satyam&sap-client=100&sap-language=EN";
How can I execute xml file by using HTTP sender adapter.
Any one with better suggestions, about this idea?
    Thanks in advance for all.
    Ram Raj

    Hi
Just use the following parameter to send xml file using HTTP adapter.
    "http://xiserver:8000/sap/xi/adapter_plain?namespace="senderNamespace"&interface=senderinterface&service=sender service";
    "&party=sender party"&agency=&scheme=&QOS=BE&sap-user=userid &sap-password=password&sap-client=100&sap-language=D";
with the help of this you are able to point out which interface you would like to use.
And in payload pass the xml.
    and thats it
    carry on
    Cheers

  • Http adapter-sender side error in communication

    Hi,
I have configured the sender http adapter in the test enviroment
and i did some test using a test tool
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/66dadc6e-0a01-0010-9ea9-bb6d8ca48cc8
The test was a  success . I used a url:
    http://sapxid:8000/sap/xi/adapter_plain?namespace=urn%3A/RepairJobCAp_SapInbound&interface=MI_RepairJobC&service=BS_CRM&party=&agency=&scheme=&QOS=EO&sap-user=xiappluser&sap-password=XIPASS&sap-client=001&sap-language=EN
When i did the test with the real tool of the sender system it failed , and the only sign was the log in window of the XI WAS with the user name of xiappluser .It seem that failed to log in , the password it is ok as it works with the test tool. Do you have an idea what it could be ?
    Best Regards

  • HTTP Adapter - Problem sending message to XI.

    Hi,
We have configured a scenario in IR and ID for the HTTP -> XI -> RFC message flow. We have created all the configuration objects (Receiver determination, receiver agreement, interface determination) in ID except the Sender Agreement (There is no Sender HTTP Adapter). So to trigger this interface we are sending the message to the following URL using a client HTML page.
    http://IPAddr:8000/sap/xi/adapter_plain?namespace=http://sap.com/xi/XI/TestPOC/r3&interface=MI_File_RFC_WeyPOC&service=SourceBS_XI&QOS=BE&sap-user=J2EE_GUEST&sap-password=JGUEST&sap-client=001&sap-language=EN
After submitting the contents in HTML page, it is asking us SAP Web Application Server user id and password. Which user id shall we give here. We have tried giving the J2EE_ADMINISTRATOR user id and it's password but it gives "the requested resource does not exist" error messgage.
How to resolve this problem ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Lalit.

    Hi Lalit,
try the xiappluser or a copy of it, like Sudhir said.
    But there is something else...
You must code special characters such as forward slash (/), hyphen , period (.), or colon ( with escape characters (for example, %2F for /, %2D for -, %2E for .,and %3A for :).

    Hi,
You can use RequestResponseBean in the sender file adapter module .

Instead of IDOC_AAE adapter you can use FILE adapter.

  • Sender http adapter - decoding (URL unescape)

    PI 7.0
Incoming http request in XI is URL decoded. Currently I am using java mapping to decode it. Is there a way to set any adapter specific properties in sender http adater so that I can avoid the java mapping for decoding. Or any settings in SICF? In other words, how can XI handle encoded http requests?
When XI makes a external http request, I can set a property "Mask Special Charcters (URL Escaping)" in the receiver http adapter. XI will make a encoded http request, meaning the xml will encoded in UT-8.
