Sending an Excel Attachment in E-mail, where linesize 255 characters

Hi,
I have a requirement where I need to send an Excel attachment of around 150 columns and the line-size is around 2000 characters.
I was planning to use SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1.
But, it appears that because of the restriction of 255 characters as SOLISTI1 structure has the field size of 255 characters.
Please note, I cannot use any of the OLE or foreground Excel functions, as the job runs in the background.
Please let me know if you have any solutions or work around.

    You can check in SOST transaction if you have an entry there for your mail.

    I am sending excel attachment in mail, when I see in SO01 tcode I am able to see the attachment in outbox, but getting 'Error during send Process' in sent status and not getting any mails to my e-mail id.

  • Excel Attachment Problem in Mail box

    Hi All,
    I had program in which i am sending mail along with Excel attachment using FM SO_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1. Mail is going fine with data in Excel attachment. But when i try to open the Excel it gives an Info message saying that "You are trying to open (attachment name),is in different format than specified file extension Verify that file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening file. Do you want to open file now". Then when i presses YES, Excel opens up with all data. I want to know how to avoid that info popup. Is there something has to be passed to FM or something has to be done to Excel like settings in EXCEL so that i can avoid that Info message coming.
    Document type of attachment is gw_packing_list-doc_type = 'XLS'.
    Can someone help me on this ?

    My requiremnt is to attach an excel file in the e-mail which will be triggered through an output type while saving the RFQ document.
    This excel attachment will have the item details. And some of the columns in the excel attachment needs to be protected(Non editable mode) and the structure also be protected

  • Sending PDF output attachment in e-mail to external users from BSP

    Hi All,
    Please gothrough the below requirement details :
    Requirement Details:
    Need to achieve the functionality of sending a PDF attachment of invoice to an external
    e-mail address from the BSP Application.
    Implementation Details:
    The Print out Output determination is already done in the system. We are using SAP R/3 4.7 (620)
    In the Transaction VF03 in the initial screen there is a menubar "Billing document" and underneath that menu there is a menu item called "Issue". If we click the "Issue" menu item all the output that are already proposed will be visible and we can select the printout Output determination and can issue a printout.
    I had created a FM to call from BSP and that function module will take the Invoice number as input and will call the "VF03" transaction using BDC and will trigger the Sapscript Printout . I see the the sapscript in the spool after I call the Function module .
    But I don't know how I can get the Spool request number for that Function module call from BSP page ????
    I got struck in this approach...
    If I know the Spool number after calling the function module the it's very easy to call the following FM's for sending a e-mail with the Invoice PDF attachment.

  • Excel attachment in a mail for background program

    Hi,
    I have a program which is scheduled to execute in background every day.
    Program output is printed to the screen. Simultaneously, I want to send an excel file as an attachment through email.
    This excel file would be having the same data which is printed on the screen.
    I have checked for other threads  in SDN for sending excel file as attachment, but did not find anything relavant.
    If anyone has any idea, please let me know....

  • Error during sending a PDF attachment of a mail

    Hi everebody,
                      I'm using a custom program [ see below ] ( in which there is the call to the std function SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1) to send a PDF attachment to an user's SAPOFFICE: in release 4.6C it works correctly but the same programm in ECC6 it doesn't work correctly.  I mean: the mail is sent correctly with the attachment, but when I try to open the attachment this one doesn't open correctly showing a PDF error message.
    Any help?

    Try to use fm 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1' instead of SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1.

  • Sending an excel sheet of  to mail Ids using file to mail scenario

    Hello,
    I have a folder with three folders archive exception and log. Log folders have the details of exception. I want the XML files that are in Exception, to be sent to resp email ids with the data in it to be stored in an excel sheet( data will be collected from the log file for the correspondng file in exception).
    eg: if test.xml is in exception its log will have an exception detail somethng like " Enter a value".
    In this case i want to give the exception details as well as some relevant details with it like material number etc , time at which the exception occured . These details are to be given in an excel sheet .
    Is it possible to do using file to mail scenario. Please help by explianing the procedure.

    This can be done with the help of some Java and ABAP coding. I can give you a general view on how to do this.
    1. Configure a file adapter for sender to pick up the exception files.
    2. While doing the mapping, create a UDF to store the values (which you need to send it to excel file) in a table in ABAP Stack.
    3. Create a ABAP Program in R3 (which can be schedule on regular intervals depending on ur req) to create an excel sheet based on the the data in the table (created in previous step). I am not sure how easy to code ABAP program to create an excel sheet.
    4. Create one more file adapter to send this excel sheet to the corresponding mail ids.
    This is a very high level view on doing this.

  • Want to send PDF as attachement using Java Mail

    I am using Java mail API for sending PDF as attachment. Here is my sample code

    I am generating String for PDF file using iTEXT but I am unable to find out mimetype for passing into DataHandler as second paramete.

    Don't convert the data to String. It isn't text so
    you'll damage the binary content by doing that. In
    the "demos" directory of your JavaMail download
    you'll find a ByteArrayDataSource class you can use
    instead of a FileDataSource. Yes, this worked for me. I create the pdf in memory as as StringBuffer and I just changed the code from
    messageBodyPart.setDataHandler(new DataHandler(pdf.toString(), "application/pdf"));
    to
    messageBodyPart.setDataHandler(new DataHandler(new ByteArrayDataSource(pdf.toString(), "application/pdf")));
    and it worked.

    I am facing a problem sending an ALV list spool as an email attachment in PDF format. Here my problem is spool has morethan 255 characters, so the contents are trukated after 255.
    I am using the FM "SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1" to send the email. Please give any good suggestion.

    The interactive form saved in WebDynpro Application is sent to R/3 in binary format. It has to be converted into pdf and sent it as an attachment in mail to the respective person in workflow.
    Kindly help on these issues :
    1. How to receive the binary data in R/3 sent by the WebDynpro Application ?
    To my knowledge we can receive the binary in XSTRING data type. Plz correct me if am wrong.
    2. How do i convert the received binary data into pdf ?

    I think You can reuse teh XString for binary data.there are certain function modules in R/3 for creating pdf/for sending it as pdf attatchment.please search in abap forums you will find more information
