Sending  unicode data to Excel from servlet displayed as "?"

Hi,
In my application we are export some unicode data to Microsoft Excel 2003 from servlet .
For that i am using the following code.
response.setHeader( "Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=results.xls" );
response.setContentType( "text/xls" );
theHeader.append("\u30ec\u30dd\u30fc\u30c8 \u30bf\u30a4\u30c8\u30eb");
The above unicode data (japanese character) not displaying properly in Excel (display as "?"). other non unicode things are display properly.
can anyone advise me.

I was having problems writing a unicode (utf-8 or utf-16) csv excel file, found a solution in the end ill post it here in case anyone else is looking.
You need to use the funky encoding x-UTF-16LE-BOM
an example of how to do this is
Writer writer = new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(new FileOutputStream(outputFile, true), "x-UTF-16LE-BOM"));
then instead of using commas (,) use tabs (\t)
then in my web.xml i have
<mime-mapping>
<extension>csv</extension>
<mime-type>application/msexcel</mime-type>
</mime-mapping>
this site is a good reference
http://members.chello.at/robert.graf/CSV/
Hope this helps someone ! =]. I am using excel 2007may or may not work with earlier versions.

    Hi Sowmya,
    Just put break point near FM reuse_alv_grid_display and check if internal table which is used to display output is popullated or not.

  • Import data to excel from resultset

    Hi,
    is there any possibility to import datas to excel from the resultset using java

    With Apache POI (and other libraries) you can produce Excel files, if it is your question.
    This was discussed zillion times...
    CSV is a textual format that Excel can read in.

    Hi Shrinivas,
    LabVIEW is getting bug fixes and new features with each version step.
    But new features also can bring new bugs - and not all bugs from older versions are fixed by now…
    The MixedSignalGraph is a beast of it's own and known to have bugs inside. The one you noticed now is probably one of those.
    So it's not your fault your VI terminates rather "unhappy", but most probably NI's fault. You can have a workaround as described in the last post.
    If I have to take same data from wire as you mentioned, I need to save the data in some variable
    No, you don't need any "variable"! THINK DATAFLOW: the wire is the variable!
    I have to write the data to excel file using report generation tool kit or some other way. … Please let me know if I can do it in some other easy methods.
    It all depends on the datatype of your data. There are functions to save to spreadsheet files. You can save in binary files. You can create TDMS files , which can be read by Excel too. All those functions are really easy to use - you just have to look at the example VIs coming with LabVIEW!

  • Sending data to EXCEL from Oracle Forms 6.0 URGENT!!!!!

    Dear all,
    I have a problem to which I hope to get a solution from anyone
    out there...
    The problem is as follows:
    I have a form that contains some data. Now this data I need to
    transfer to an excell sheet. I tried to do so through report
    builder (6.0) but every time I try to convert my report I get a
    general protection fault. So instead I'm sending the data to a
    text file through text_io built in then reopening the text file
    from excel. Isn't there a better way to do it? ie sending the
    data stright from forms to excel?
    Thanks in advance

  • Present Data in Excel from a Cube Outside the multi area

    Hi,
      I am not sure if this is possible, any help will
      be appreciated.I have a business requirement, where I
      had to present calculated values based on the data
      that is in a different cube that is outside the multi
      area.The presentation will need to be on excel layout.
    Thanks

    Hi,
       The solution for this requirement should be very
       much possible.For a similar requirement, I have used
       the LB transaction code LB_EXIT_FM with an ABAP
       function module.Within this module, two things are
       addressed.
       One is to read the data from other cube and manipulate
       it in the program.Secondly, to decide where to present
       this data in excel spreadsheet, where we had decide
       precisely what row/column (cell range)we would be
       presenting this data.It was always dynamic and
       calculated on the fly, presented in the excel layout
       in these specified cells.This data isn't stored
       anywhere, as the basis for this data already exists
       in the other cube.
       You can try searching more on this topic using the
       transaction code mentioned above, you will find lot
       more information that could be very useful.
       Hope this helps.
    Cheers

  • How export data in Excel From Visual Composer

    Hay everybody,
    I would like to export my data result from Visual Composer to Excel. I've tried with an export data buton, but the exported file has a very bad format in Excel. I've tried an hyperlink buton which contain the Reptname data of the query too, but I can't keep my filters. This second solution can be nice for the format. If anyone knows how I can keep my filters, I would be fine.
    Thanks

    I did not get solution by using BW 3.5 , can we export data to Excel ? I am refering
