Sent email is getting hung up in my outbox

sent email is getting hung up in my outbox on my imac

I have the same issue with my iphont5 on IOS6.
I just traded my iphone 4s and got an iphone5.
I have my work email (exchange) and my gmail account set up on my phone. As soon as I updated to IOS 6, I started to have these problems:
When I send emails out, they get stuck in my outbox.
When sending picture msgs, they just stay in sending status.
A problem with Internet links not opening on safari.
I did everything that you can think of, restarted the phone, reset network settings, restored to factory settings and setup as NEW iphone, checked all email and exchange settings (all are correct) and they way they worked on my 4S, deleted my exchange profile on the work server.
I did all that you can think of and nothing was a permanent fix.
Apple Geniuses, please help us get this resolved. Other co-works are having the same problems.
I made an appointment to go to the apple stores, drove 30 min to get to the apple store, and they blamed it on the bad reception that only happens at their store....
He reset my phone, to reset the firm ware and the problem is still there....
I was told to call Sprint to see if there is a network issue, then I can go back to the Apple store..
I told the guy that I has Sprint before, I even had an Iphone 4s, and this never happened...
He said to check with Sprint....
I have never hated a phone that I have bought... I am starting to with this iphone5.

  • Sent email not getting through

Problem: No access to smtp server when sending email via Comcast (receive is OK). I have an old PC (Win XP Pro, Outlook Express) being replaced by a new PC (Win 7 Pro, Outlook 2010). When sending email from either machine I get a "socket error: 10013" and the emails don't go out. The new Linksys E2000 seems to be the common point (which replaced a WRT54GS). I have checked the config on this device and it's all fairly vanilla - DHCP (currently using out-of-the-box IP address), wireless with WPA2, no port filtering or special games/apps setups. Everything works includng wireless laptop access to the I-net through the E2000 and wireless printing. Except sent email. No other changes to security software (Norton 360) were (knowingly) made.
    Any ideas?

Connect the modem directly to the computer and then check if you can send emails.

  • Gmail emails are getting stuck in my exchange outbox

I am using Outlook 2010 with my Gmail IMAP account and am having an issue where sometimes emails that I send from my Gmail IMAP account, get stuck in my exchange outbox. My exchange server hasn't been connected for at least 6 months now, and the only reason
I haven't deleted my exchange account from Outlook is because I often need to refer back to my old emails.
Why does this happen and what can I do to fix it? I've read some other threads with similar issues but an important thing to note is that my exchange account is always offline as it is not connected to a mail server. Any assistance with rectifying this issue
would be great as there is no warning at all that the messages have failed to send and it's not a constant issue, only happens sporadically but enough to make me consider not using Outlook anymore.

Sounds like you have two email accounts in one profile, Exchange and Gmail IMAP. Try to set the IMAP account as the default to test it. For logic, if you send a message through IMAP, the send message would stay at IMAP sent folder but not Exchange folder.
    Thanks.

  • Sent emails in Mac Mail going straight into Outbox - how can I fix this?

For several days now my emails sent from Apple Mail, which is certainly ( when working ) the best email service I've used, has failed to send emails and instead lodges them in my Outbox, where they remain, and the Mail Activity slot at the bottom datailing the progress of outgoing messages
tends to come to a halt halfway along the progress bar.
    Very frustrating.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks / Jim Raff

Launch the Connection Doctor (Mail.app Window > Connection Doctor) and (if you see any red-dot warnings from the first pass of the tool, and you probably will) open the details drawer and re-run the connection tests.  If you can't figure out the error from what details are generated by the tool, post the expurgated data — edit out any sensitive data — and post it here.
Also (though this probably won't help) repair your mailbox.  Mail.app Mailbox > Repair.
See if you can access the target mail via the web app, and see if there are any issues with that server; if things are working "normally" via the web interface.  (Details of the web interface vary.)
Also confirm the outbound mail message doesn't exceed some limit on the mail server, such as the total storage quota for the target mail server, or the size of the message being sent; something that might cause the message to be rejected by the mail server.
In the above, I'm going to assume you are not running OS X Server here, and are just running 10.6 client.  If you are running OS X Server 10.6, then you'll want to have a look at the mail server log files at a start.  OS X Server has its own mail server, and debugging that is somewhat more complex than debugging the Mail.app mail client in OS X software, and some other mail server.

  • Email checking gets hung up

my email will check for new mail as set up for a while, and then will never check for new mail. even manually checking does nothing. if i reboot, it immediately checks mail and works fine for a while, then hangs again. any ideas what to do?

Here is an article from the apple support website that might help out.

  • TS3276 Mac Mail in Mavericks is randomly resending previously sent emails

For some reason previously sent emails are getting randomly resent. This seems to happen most when the program restarts as my computer reboots. Is there a way to stop this from happening? This is confusing and annoying for my clients!

Mail is not in my log in items. It opens, because it was open when I shut down.

  • Mail is putting multiple copies of sent emails in my drafts folder, or in trash.

Mail is putting copies of emails successfully sent in my drafts folder, sometimes multiple copies, sometimes in trash.
Also, new email keeps entering my inbox after I've moved it to other mailboxes or to the trash or junk mail. Also, if I search for a name to which I have sent or from which I have received an email, the results shows a copy of each mail in all these mailboxes: Important, All Mail, Sent Mail, Sent G-Mail. This is a recent phenomenon. For every sent email I get 5 copies in my trash box.

I phoned up Appe Support yesterday and i discovered that SOME (not all) of my trouble was caused by my 2 Gmail accounts, which werent correctly designated as Gmail Server WITH the correct password, it was set to use the server from one of my other accounts.
I do still have another problem which doesnt go away, i open Mail normally and there is ghost Open Window, which cannot be opened, to view my Mail i have to open a NEW viewer window, even though there is a Window open all ready, the Ghost window !

  • Sent emails dissappeared

    Hi,
I've let my sent email box get too large and now all the emails have dissappeared. Not realising that all the emails were going into one file, which I now know is the mbox file. My mbox is 1.96Gb,
I've tried updating from Panther to Tiger, tried rebuild and moved the mbox file to another computer to see if that will open it and all the appears are my emails sent in the last 48 hours from when the problem started.
Any help would be very gratefully received as this is driving me mad.

OK, I haven't really tried it, but I've taken a look, and it seems to accomplish the same that importing the old mbox files using the Other import option in Mail 2.0 would. I guess all mail came up as unread and some "deleted" messages could have reappeared as well.
What probably makes this utility useful is that it guides you trough the steps that must be taken, making the transition process to appear simpler, despite it actually being more convoluted. It's a neat and clever way of being able to import mail into any mail client, nevertheless -- provided the old mail is available in mbox format, that is.
BTW, the product is made by Weird Kid Software. Emetrix is the provider of the e-commerce solution they use for their web store.
    Thanks for the feedback.

  • How do you get Mountain Lion Mail to show sent email size?

I upgraded to mountain lion I think a couple months ago so I don't remember exactly when I lost this feature, but in Snow Leopard for sure there was an option that when composing a new email, a little bar across the bottom of the email showed the size of your email so when you were adding attachments you could see the size your email was getting to be. I obviously haven't used that in a while because I ahvent' sent attachments in a long while, but I have recently started to do that again and tonight when I was adding files, there was no bar across the bottom of the email at all so I have no idea what size my email was. Even when I hit send and the progress bar in the bottom left of Mail ("Mail Activity") that use to show the file size right underneath the bar also now no longer shows the size so I have absolutely no idea how big the email I sent was.
Can anyone tell me how to get the option back to show the email size of the mail your composing in that little bar on the bottom of your email as well as the file size to display as you are sending in "Mail Actiivity" window? Thanks so much if anyone can help. Thank you!

  • How do I get my incoming emails in Mail on my Imac to automatically go to Icloud?  My sent emails go there automatically but not my incoming emails.

How do I get my incoming emails in Mail on my Imac to automatically go to Icloud?  My sent emails go there automatically but not my incoming emails.  I'm using OS X 10.8.5.

No, I'm not using the icloud email address.  I am using my email address [email protected]  Let me try to explain what I'm trying to do.  I'd like the emails that I send from and that are sent to my pacbell.net email address to also show up on icloud so if something happens to my imac which is the primary computer my emails are preserved on Icloud and I can access them there.
    Is that possible?
Note:  I have been able to move my pacbell.net emails to the icloud account manually.

  • Sent email gets marked as 'unread'

    Hi all,
I'm getting two rather frustrating issues on Apple Mail.
Firstly, sent emails are starting to, on occasion (probably 50% of the time), get marked as 'unread' in my sent mailbox. This was not an issue in the past.
Secondly, my to do items are disappearing. The items are being stored on a local calendar (so no sync issues I would presume), and I create them via a note. The to do item on the note greys out and disappears from the to do list.
Any assistance for either of these issues would be really appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rhys

    Hi,
Do you have any add-in installed in your Outlook? If so, we may try to start Outlook in safe mode to see if this issue is caused by nay problematic add-in. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
outlook.exe /safe and press Enter. If this issue would be gone in safe mode, please go to File > Options > Add-ins and disable suspicious add-in to resolve the issue.
If this issue continues in Outlook safe mode, we may also try to login to webmail interface and check if this issue can be reproduced from there.
Please let me know the result.

Check you haven't been infected by a Botnet:
Simply put, a bot – which is short for robot – is an automated computer program that allows outside sources to control computers remotely without the users' knowledge. A botnet is a network of hundreds or thousands of computers infected with botnet malware that communicates covertly with a command-and-control (CnC) server run by a type of cybercriminal called a botmaster. Unbeknownst to the individual users, their computers are linked in a rogue network which the botmaster can utilize for a variety of nefarious purposes.

  • I have a problem with a few emails i wrote which were in the outbox. The outbox disappeared all of a sudden with my mails... However they were not sent since the email address was not correct (just 3 initials). Is there a way to get it back somewhere?

    Hello,
I have a problem with a few emails i wrote which were in the outbox. The outbox disappeared all of a sudden with my mails... However they were not sent since the email address was not correct (just 3 initials). I was waiting to find out the correct email address of that person, put in in and then sen it...Is there a way to get it back somewhere on the ipad or in some cached folder?
Many thanks for an answe to this.
    Swisslady2

There is no cache where the emails would be stored on the iPad, but you could try quitting the mail app and then launch it again and see if the emails return.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Tap the home button. Then try mail again.
