Sequence views

Hi
I'm trying to build a project using multiple sequences.
then, my intent was to drop the sub-sequences into the main sequence however when I do so, I can't see the film strip the footage that was dropped into the main line.
The rest of the footage is visible as film strip but the new sequence that was dropped in, just appears as a lne making it hard to figure out where you are.
yes, the "view" is clicked as "veiw as filmstrip" for the main sequence but the newly dropped in footage is not viewable as a filmstrip.
any ideas?
best, M/

It sounds like you have nested these sub-sequences. If you want to be able to see the filmstrip view, then copy and paste the sub-sequences into the new one.

    Dear All,
    When I use Batch model of two stations I would like to have two sequences view as I get two executions view or two reports view.
    The main gold is to have for each Socket three tabsequence view\Execution view\Report view.

    Are you talking about the sequence editor or an operator interface? There is only ever really one edit time copy of a sequence file in memory at a time, so showing it in 4 views would be misleading. At runtime, copies of the sequences are made for each thread that runs them, but they all come from a single edit time copy originally. Why do you want 4 edit time copies of the sequence? What exactly are you trying to do?

  • In simple user Interface modify the sequence view to show only executing step

    I want to see only the Single executing step  in sequence view of the user interface
    are there any egs for the same!!

    This is relatively trivial to implement yourself. Handle the UIMessageEvent of the ApplicationMgr and when you get a trace UIMessage do something like the following:
    if (uiMsg.Event == UIMsg_Trace)
        int notUsed;
        String currentStepName = "";
        SequenceContext context = uiMsg.Thread.GetSequenceContext(0, out notUsed);
        if (context.NextStepIndex >= 0)
            currentStepName = context.NextStep.Name;
        /// Do something with currentStepName like update an indicator control.
    Hope this helps,

  • Clearing the Sequence View Display

    We are using a LabView UI to the TestStand engine.
    When a test is completed the the UI Sequence View background colour changes from white to grey and the results of the test remain in the View, does anyone know how to clear the View?
    Regards
    Steve
    There are 10 types of people in the world that understand binary, those that do and those that don't.

    Steve,
    You could set the ExecutionView Manager's  Execution property  to NULL every time an execution ends. In this way the execution view would be 'cleared'.
    If you want to modify the LV Full Featured Operator Interface to handle the Application Manager's EndExecution callback follow the following steps.
    1.Use LabVIEW to  open TestStand\OperatorInterfaces\NI\FullFeatured\LabVIEW\TestExec.llb.
    2. Select Full OI - Configure Event Callbacks.vi.
    3. Open the block diagram and add anew callback to the reg event callback node.
    4. Connect the Application Manager branch to the event source ref input.
    5. Select EndExecution form the callback list.
    5. Pass the Execution View Manager Reference as the User Parameter.
    6. Create a new Callback VI and name it END EXE CBACK.
    7. Inside the callback VI set the IExecutionVIewManager Execution property to NULL.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to implement the sequence view controls in the customized LabVIEW UI

    Hi,
    I'd like to use LabVIEW to run the TestStand Sequence, and show the execution windows in the UI.(something llike the attached image)
    I followed my senior's method : connected the sequence view controls into the TestStand UI Execution View Manager as objects.
    Then use the register event callback to build a callback VI.
    The callback VI is checking which the RunState of the Execution Manager is stopped and assigning the execution to that Execution Manager.
    Though it works, but really confuses me, needless to say to you all.
    Could someone give me some suggestion how to show the execution windows in the LabVIEW UI? I'll appreciate your help.

  • Customizing sequence views on multiple PC's

    I have customized the execution view of my sequence editor to display test step limits (hi and low), and module execution time.
    I would like to know how to "copy" these settings to another test system (PC), without having to go through the manual process of setting up the view on each test station PC?
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    Jim

    What Adam posted will work for a User Interface, if however, you are wanting to do this for the sequence editor, I think the sequence editor saves this setting in the layout
    file. There is a current_layout.bin file in the same directory as
    specified above. Or you can use the Sequence editor options dialog - UI
    Configuration tab to save and load specific configurations. It saves the layout files to a directory underneath the cfg directory (usually either C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\TestStand 4.2.1\Cfg\SeqEdit or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\National
    Instruments\TestStand 4.2.1\Cfg\SeqEdit depending on your OS).

  • Execution view is empty

    Hello,
    I want to run TS sequences programatically, like a customized OI. I don't need any buttons, I plan to run everything programatically. For that I have created a VI, where I connect a SequenceView ActiveX object to the ExecutionViewMgr. The sequence is running, but I don't see anything in the sequence viewer. What do I do wrong?

    Hi Ranjith,
    the tracing is enabled, and I figured out what was missing. The reference of the execution has to be also connected to ExecutionViewMgr.Execution. That's all.

  • Sequence settings misunderstanding

    Hello everybody. I have searched the forums and have went back to the manual for FCP but cant seem to find the answer to my questions. Any help would be appreciated.
    I am curious about the sequence settings in FCP. I believe that a mistake was made in the very beginning and i know that the editing timebase cannot be changed once a sequence has been created and edited in. It seems that other changes can be made though.
    Before I go further, here is my set up... I shot on HDV 1080 24p (1440X1080).
    My sequence settings for the project seem to deviate from what I shot at. Some things are as they should be and others are not. The frame size is good, the pixel aspect ratio is good, and my audio settings seem on track too.
    However, The field dominance is set to Upper(odd)....this should be set to 'none' since i shot progressive correct??? My editing timebase is 29.97, since i shot 24p and it cannot be changed... how does this effect my project/the final output to dvd ?? My quicktime video settings are set to HDV 1080i60, it seems that I can change this back to what it was shot at, but my question about this is what exactly does this effect in relation to my project and final out put of the project to DVD??
    I have not had any major problems viewing or working on my project in FCP. I have done a few tests with compressor and then burning to dvd, and my quality seems to be less than what I would like. I have tried different compression settings including HD MPEG-2 @ 18Mbps.
    Could the loss of quality be coming from my current settings in FCP or are they more than likely in Compressor. If my frame controls in compressor are on, what should the rate conversion be set to, and what qualities does this effect? I also am not understanding the deinterlace settings. If the output field setting is to 'same as source', why does it even give you a choice if you shot progressive?? I AM Confused about these settings as well.
    I realize there are many questions bundled within this post. Please be patient with me and any info would be appreciated.
    thanks
    joe

    To my knowledge HDV at 1080 is interlaced.
    You could:
    Open a new sequence and drop a HDV clip in/FC will ask if you want to conform the sequence to the clip-click yes/sequence settings will now match the clip and show you exactly what you are dealing with. This info can also be found in the columns for each clip and sequence but I find sequence view is easier to understand what you have.
    Creating a Blu-Ray via Compressor is your only option for HD on a disc. DSP has no relevant HD options as HD-DVD lost the format war to BR over two years ago.

  • Clearing seq view

    Hi  ,
    I have the following 2 declared in my class :
       public NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.Ax.AxSequenceView axSequenceView = new NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.Ax.AxSequenceView();
            public NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.Ax.AxExecutionViewMgr axExecutionViewMgr = new NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.Ax.AxExecutionViewMgr();
    The sequence view is being updated correctly  .
    I wish to know how to clear it's text resat it's content for a new run  .
    any ideas?

    3bnv -
    You should be able to handle the EndExecution event of the ExecutionViewMgr. This event fires when the execution that corresponds to ExecutionViewMgr.Execution completes. Within the EndExecution event handler, you can call ApplicationMgr.CloseExecution(ExecutionViewMgr.Execution) to close the execution and clear the SequenceView.
    Hope this helps.

  • Launching a never ending vi in sequence

    Hi!
    I have a vi that can basically be represented by a while loop that never stops until i press a button.
    I want to load and run this vi from a sequence without it hanging up that sequence.
    Also, at the end of the sequence it would be great if it could end the loop in the vi.
    For this last part I made the vi read out a variable in my locals and stop the loop as soon as it is a certain value.
    (I think this is a good solution, but any suggestions are of course welcome )
    For being able to run the rest of the sequence, even though the vi never ends, I was less successful.
    I tried putting the vi in a subsequence and then running that subsequence in a different thread.
    However, stepping through the main sequence, it does steps over the call of the subsequence,
    but then the main sequence still freezes until i stop the loop in my vi.
    What am i doing wrong exactly? Any help would be much appreciated!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Run Asynchronous VI basically uses a sequence call module with the "New Thread" option, but I don't think it does much more than that. I think you still have to do ExternallySuspended and/or Termination monitor in your vi. At any rate, I recommend against using Run asynchronous vi as there have been issues with using that step type (confusion over what passing ThisContext means for the most part). See the following link for more details about the issues with Run asynchronous vi if you are interested:
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=330&message.id=28101&query.id=753835#M28101
    As far as termination monitor not detecting whether or not the original thread has completed normally, that is not its purpose and not always what a user might want. For example, you might have a worker thread that you want to keep running even after the thread that launched it completes. There might even be more than two threads in the execution and the execution technically isn't complete until all threads are done, including the asynchronous ones. The purpose of the termination monitor is to give the code module a way to detect when the user is requesting a terminate or abort so that it can return and allow the execution to terminate or abort normally (an execution cannot terminate or abort while a code module is still running).
    Like you are suggesting, you can probably pass in the original caller's thread as a parameter to the asynchronous sequence and your VI and call Thread.WaitForEnd on it with a 0 ms timeout to check if it's done in your loop. You need to make sure that you unchecked the "Automatically Wait for the Thread to Complete at the End of the Current Sequence" setting on the advanced panel of your sequence call step though or your threads will both be waiting for each other and never complete. Also the sequence view of the execution is likely to switch to your asynchrous thread at the end because it will be the last thread running, so if you don't want that you should probably just go with passing a boolean variable instead and leave the setting "Automatically Wait for the Thread to Complete at the End of the Current
    Sequence" checked. Do not ever pass ThisContext from one thread to another though as that is the source of the problems people are having with Run VI Asynchronously.
    Hope this helps,

  • HDV Render: blocky sequence results!

    I have a LONG project with two sequences. Both contain three video tracks: two HDV (regular 1440x1080 60i preset) and on DV (720x480 anamorphic). On both sequences, I've used opacity ramps as "cross fade" between the tracks and the three way color corrector to deal with some lighting uneveness.
    When I render all Act 1, it says "Conforming HDV," it takes about 4 hours (one hour and twenty minutes in the sequence), and the result is just fine.
    When I render Act 2, it says the same things, takes about the same time, but the results is VERY blocky looking, jittery, etc. in the sequence viewer. If I just look at a clip, it is fine; the render files viewed with Quicktime are blocky like the sequence, so it is a real problem.
    I've tried forcing it to render again, but there is no change.
    Any clues?

    I solved this problem.
    I had a slug at the beginning the the act 2 sequence, but not as part of the act 1 sequence. I guess this such a slug disrupts the HDV conforming process. The successful act 1 sequence had a DV clip at the start of the sequence, so apparently a generated video section is problematic.
    Once I eliminated the slug by putting a short HDV clip in its place with opacity set to zero, the full render was successful and the clip is sharp and clear as expected.
    I'm marking this question as answered; those editing in native HDV take note.

    PS: there are many who wisely counsel against editing in HDV and advise transcoding to ProRes or other format. Since I don't use any chromakey techniques (yet), there seems to be no particular advantage for me; HDV edits smoothly enough on my G5 Quad, and conforming (I only do it once at the end of major editing) takes about as long as transcoding without a hardware assist on my machine. And I get by with 1/4 the disk space and can play back more streams with just a regular firewire (7200rpm FW800) drive.

  • What's wrong with my Final Cut Pro 7.03?

    What's wrong with my Final Cut Pro 7.03?
    I have just started up a new project.
    Every time I try to ad a clip in top of each other a "general error" shows up. The sequence viewer turned red and it displays that I have to close and reopen the window to restore.
    The only "new thing" I do - is the use/brand of camera.
    Now I use the canon D5 mark 3 for my project (before D5 mark 2)
    What's wrong??? Do I need to update my Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 And how do I do this???
    Final Cut Pro 7, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

    Did you use Log & Import?  Or did you at least convert the D5 files before importing?  FCP doesn't work with those files natively.

  • How to do it? (mapping without target)

    it is not possible to do complex logic by mapping operations.
    there is PL\SQL procedure.
    how to insert this PL\SQL procedure in mapping and generate?
    now there is error
    VLD-1146: Unable to generate any code for mapping M_TR_OAO_TRANSPORT. The map may have no loadable targets, or an internal error may have occurred.

    are the objects used within the procedure registered within your module like source ,target table , functions, sequences,views etc if not then you cant do it which is a logical error as the object doesnt exist within your repository. AND WHAT DOES THE MAPPING DO IF IT DOES NOT HAVE A MAPPING,IF IT JUST A PROCEDURE THEN YOU CAN INVOKE THIS IN YOUR PROCESS FLOW DIRECTLY WITHOUT USING A MAPPING SUBJECT TO THE ABOVE CONDITIONS.

  • How get all table name from database

    hi master
    sir
    how get all table name from database

    The big question is 'why'.
    Selecting from view 'dba_tables' will indeed give the list of all tables in the database, but that includes the dictionary tables and the internal tables, and many others that are probably not of interet to a person who needs to ask this question. Besides, the dba_tables view requires access to a DBA account.
    There are several other views: "user_tables" will list all the tables in this user's schema; and "all_tables" will list all the tables this user can access in some way.
    The above do not, of course, include any information about synonyms, sequences, views, indexes and so on.
    The correct answer and the meaningful answer may be two different things.
