Serial number mistake

Hi,
when i registered my ipod i've mistaken the serial number. How can i change it and put the correct one?
Moreover, I'd like to buy the protection plan, but I think I could find some troubles, just because i made this error.
So, what can I do?

I think your best bet would be to call apple and tell them your issue and have them change it or have them walk you through what needs to be done to fix your issue..

    We use both the "Mfr serial no."  and the "Serial Number" fiields.  The Mfr serial number we take from the device, and the Serial number we assign.  SAP will allow us to adjust the "serial number" after the transaction but not the Mfr serial number.

  • Adobe Illustrator CS5 Setup Mistake (Clicked on "provide a serial number")

    Hi everyone,
    The instructions for installing Adobe Illustrator CS5 told me to to chose the option "Install this product as a trial" instead of "Provide a serial number" when I get to the "Enter a Serial Number" step.  I don't know why I was so stupid I clicked on "Provide a serial number" and entered the code.  After that, it said that it was invalid, but I was able to open Adobe Illustrator only two times until it made me get a 30 day trial.  My mom bought it for me, though...
    How do I fix this mistake? I don't want my mom to have to pay for another Adobe Illustrator....for now I'll just install the trial.

    Purchasing department for one of my
    clients added a product managed by serial numbers instead of by batches
    in error. Product was received incorrectly, and no serial number was
    entered. Now they cannot create a transaction to get this product off
    the inventory (credit memo).it is asking for the S# but the item was receive without
    serial number.\
    I dont know how they were able to enter the AP invoice without entering a serial number, but looks like they did and now they cannot take it out from the inventory.

    Is the item managed by serial numbers "On release" or on "Every Transaction". If it is on release only, it would not need a serial number to be received, just issued.
    If this is the case, it can be issued with a dummy number to get it out of stock, then the correction can be made & it can be brough back in correctly.

    As far as I know there is no option to acquire a new serial number - you have to use the one assigned when purchased.  If you already had this software installed and registered it with Adobe you should be able to find your serial number via your Adobe account online.
    The serial number is normally on the case that holds the disc.  It seems unlikely that you would inadvertantly throw that out, so you might want to check there.

    My problem started when I want to unlock my iphone 3gs via Imei.
    My old iphone broke about a month after i bought it (it was 2 years ago), so i sent it to Movistar to change it (i think that they sent it to appleCare). Now Movistar told me that i have to send the old iphone imei in order to unlock the iphone i have now, i ask apple for the repair order receipt, then i received an email and i could see the information about the 2 iphones: the old broken one and the new one.
    Then I realized that the iphone they sent me as a replacement (the new one) is not the same iphone i have. The serial number and the Imei are different, so, should apple change this data in their server in order to unlock my iphone or what can i do to solve it?
    There is any formal way to perform this data change?

    Here we work with repairs for devices that does not have waranty (expired or other issue). In this case, I did the screen replacement. No other ipad was on my station, the ipad arrives, i took it change the glass, put everithing back, give to customer. Thats it. The job was done by me, the customer test his ipad in front on me, works fine, everything ok. Few days pass and he came back saying that it wasn't his ipad, he brings the box that the ipad came and ask me why the serial number does not match the serial number in the box (sorry NOT in the back of the ipad).
    There were no other part changed only glass. After 7 years working on this, thats the first customer complaining about a work done here. After this I was curious and look for more information and some forums, also one port here is claiming that the serial number on the device is not the same as the box where it came.
    I just want to make sure that there are possibilities that there could be such mistake during the packaging process.

  • How do I change a serial number for FCP Studio entered in error

    I recently had to reinstall everything and I used the serial number for a co-worker's software by mistake. I have the right serial number, but when I try to re-install, the pane for entering the serial number never comes up and I end up with the same problem. I've tried deleting everything, including the p-list, before re-installing. I've also downloaded Preference Manager for that.

    look for the FINAL CUT STUDIO SYSTEM ID in your hard drive>library>Application Support>ProApps
    Drag it out of the folder into the trash and relaunch

  • Serial number problem with CS6

    This morning, after running for over a year, the serial number that came with the copy of CS6 that I bought last August stopped working. I got an "invalid serial number error" and that was the end of CS6. I tried getting help from Adobe, but to no avail. The website was full of deadends or irrelevant pages. When I finally got into the chat cue, and I still don't know how I found it because I haven't been able to find it again, after an hour of waiting I had to go to work. With only 9 other people in line ahead of me.
    So I've uninstalled and reinstalled CS6 twice, but it keeps telling me I have an invalid serial number. It is the serial number I registered with Adobe last year and that has worked since then. It is the same number that shows up when I look up "installed products" in my AdobeID account. Regardless, it is now inexplicably invalid. I found a post suggesting I run CC Cleaner. I did it--twice. I also adjusted file folder permissions on the Adobe program folder based on someone else's advice, but neither solved anything.
    My impression is that it isn't an installation problem but that due to a mistake on Adobe's end, maybe due to an Adobe or MS auto update, my serial number now really is invalid, though it is paid for. This would mean there is nothing wrong with my installation, but just the serial number. With that in mind, and also that I don't want to deal with the aggravation any longer, I bit the bullet and bought...another copy of CS6. That's right, I will have paid twice for one copy because of a problem that is likely Adobe's fault. Congratulations Adobe! I came onto this forum so I could get an answer to the following question: who do I send the bill to? Who at Adobe reimburses their users when this kind of thing happens? If customer support had been better I might have been willing to hang in there while waiting for a fix, but it is obvious that none of the options available are made to assist customers so much as to drive them away. If I had known of an alternative software that could replace PS, Illustrator, and InDesign, I would have bought it instead.

    I know I won't get reimbursed, the question was rhetorical.
    I bought the software through my university supplier of all our software, so it is legit. The point is that I paid for it, I should be able to use it. If it doesn't work, there should be a way to tell Adobe. I wouldn't be angry about it now if not for the fact I couldn't even send the information to Adobe.
    This same thing happened with my copy of IBM SPSS and QVR's nVivo X10 software. The problem is that the way these software keys are installed happens to be very sensitive to system changes or even updates on the other end, at the developer's servers that maintain licenses. I understand why they have the keys, but the way they are implemented ruins the user experience for me. When I spend about two weeks every year fixing software glitches like this, that's my whole Christmas vacation , they need to improve the software because it is becoming more trouble than it is worth.
    I wish there was a competitor for Adobe because I would love to spend my money there, even if it costs more, just to switch to another application and remind Adobe that their monopoly on the market could crumble if the customer experience starts going south.

  • Adobe Support Responding to an invalid serial number

    Adobe is deliberately stealing my software and blocking it from usage.  While they recognize my email address when I tried to create a new account to share this with fellow consumers, they cannot find my records and are blocking my Adobe product from working.  Please contact me for class action suit against Adobe.  Here is the transcript:

    This is a serious mistake by Adobe to invalidate 3 year old software.  Consumers like me don’t like getting cheated by a multi-billion dollar corporation.  You don’t understand how expensive this will be for Adobe to provide records of all purchases and to prove that they have not lost serial numbers or that they are not running a scam to steal paid software from consumers.  I should not have to find records that are years old to use software I purchased.  I did not contact you, you remotely blocked my software.  I did not authorized any contact with Adobe and I resent that Adobe is invading my privacy.  Adobe is keeping me from using a legally owned product.  I purchased the Acrobat software from Adobe approximately 3 years ago and now Adobe has stolen the software from me.   It is very simple.  You either owe me $300 or you owe me some kind of code that will unlock my software. 
    If you begin to Google any part from my posting, you’ll see it on a half dozen sites.  By this time in a month, it will be on a thousand sites.  Anyone purchasing Adobe software should be well advised that Adobe can and will invalidate that software years from the date of purchase, then demand records from the owner that cannot be produced without extreme difficulty.  I will also ask my grandstanding Democrat Senator to hold public hearings on how many people have been cheated by Adobe Corporation.  I think this is not a battle you want to fight.   Your greed exceeds your common sense.  Please provide me a code to unlock my software.  I already have lawyers calling to file a class action suit.

  • Adobe has my money and won't give me my serial number!

    For those of you who have successfully downloaded an upgrade to Lightroom 3 with serial numbers, congratulations!  If you haven't, you might beware that you might not get a serial number and neither customer nor technical support has ANY answer for you. 
    When I downloaded, in the serial number field on the download page, I had a message to "Contact Customer Support" where the serial number should be.  When I ran the install on my mac, the readme file said if I had a licensed version installed on my computer, the upgrade would see that and install.  Well, of course it didn't. So, I went back to my order screen on Adobe.com, retrieved my serial number for version 1, and plugged it into the install screen -- still wouldn't take it.
    OK, I'll call customer support like it says to do.  After explaining the situation to the service representative, he immediately says I'll have to talk to a "higher authority" and transfers me to someone else.  I explain the problem to her, she immediately says "that's a technical issue, you'll have to talk to Technical Support", and transfers me there.  The tech support guy says it's a customer service issue and says he going to transfer me to them, at which point I tell him he's already the 3rd person I've talked to, but he transfers me there anyway.  Back at customer service, the  rep then says, "you may have to wait 24 hours for your serial number to be sent to you."  But the email I already received,  headed "Your serial numbers", clearly says it back in my order screen/download page, which all of them looked at while I was talking to them!  It didn't help that the accents/understandability of each person worsened with each transfer.
    Right now, I'll run it in trial mode, but its a cautionary tale for those of use who are early adopters of the upgrade.  They may not be ready for us. This is inexcusable for a company the size of Adobe. Jeez.

    The good news is that anyone who can download the product can use it and all of its features for 30 days w/o the serial number.
    I am fine with mistakes happening.  I can forgive that as long as it is acknowledged.  But what I cannot forgive is an attitude that the customer is doing something wrong when they are not.  I also have no sympathy for trying to cover up a problem and just trying to brush it off as if there is no issue at all.  This has been my personal experience today with Adobe.  So no, I am not give them some slack here.
    A few years back when I upgraded a master collection, I had an issue.  The installer included a beta version for Photoshop.  I was not too happy about this.  But Adobe quickly admitted that they made a mistake (and they did it publicly on this forum if I am not mistaken) and apologized.  I even got a call from someone senior at Adobe to apologize.  Within hours, they figured out exactly who was affected and sent them all e-mails.  I think that almost everyone was fine with the problem after they admitted it.  But Adobe did not learn from this mistake as is issue here today.  Either they were willfully covering up this mistake or they have no organizational structure that can quickly identify problems like this when they arise to properly communicate the problem to their customers.  Either way, it says a lot about the organization.  The fact that my rep didn't even know that Lightroom 3 had been released when I first talked to her says everything to me.  They ought to be prepared whenever there is a new release of any of their products.  And they should be on the lookout for systemic issues.

  • We are unable to validate this serial number for CS6 Design Standart. What's wrong with my key or why won't it validate?

    I bought the CS6 Design Standard student and teacher edition over amazon. I activated the product on my adobe account and got a serial number. But when I install the package and enter the serial number I a message saying "We are unable to validate this serial number for Creative Suit 6 Design Standard. Please contact Customer Support."
    Does anyone know what is up with this? I am sure that the problem isn't anything along the lines of making mistakes when typing in the serial (tried it multiple times, used copy paste to reduce chance of error). It's also not any problem with me lacking an internet connection adobe to validate the serial.

  • Reinstalling Photoshop CS4 invalid serial number

    I have had this software since 2008.  It has been running on the same PC for the last five years, now I have finally upgraded the PC, my serial number is invalid and wont activate.  Customer service chat says its an incorrect number and could I provide Proof of Purchase (?)  Are you kidding me?!  They don't show the software was registered -ever- then why was it functioning just fine for the last five years?!  To make matters worse, India chat hung up on me -twice!!  So I get to thinking, I wonder what our corporate serial numbers say on the Adobe Volume Licensing site -guess what?!  They're invalid too!!  Coincidence?!  I think not!  I want an answer as why any serial number I enter from Creative Suite 2 Premium, Technical Suites 2, 3 and 3.5 and a privately owned Photoshop CS4 Extended are ALL invalid according to Adobe?!  Is there a translation error from English to Hindi?!  Or are your corporate systems so screwed up, you have no clue as to what is a valid serial number and what is not, so you just lead them around and around and around until you just hang up on them or they get so frustrated and angry, they go get a pirated version and generate a key so they never have to speak to you again.  I'm certainly not spending another $800 on another Adobe product that may or may not have a valid key.  I want the key I legally own validated!!  Today!!!

    I too have just been victimized by this same scenario, Windows XP machine replaced by a Windows 7 machine, installed CS4 extended to new machine, no serial # acceptance, deactivated XP CS4, reinstalled CS4 on to Win 7 machine, deleted Adobe PCD cache as seen on blogs and chats, activated Win 7 CS4 and it still tells me invalid serial #'s. No help from Adobe! Adobe!, if you care,
    Advertise a phone number that allows us to speak to a human being that knows what to do! Don't use delay tactics like people in India that can't make decisions or hope people just give up and buy a new software package!
    This is a situation that has me disappointed in Adobe. I always had great performance and stable software until now. And to find out how difficult it is to rectify the problem only because of Adobe's unwillingness to do so is really sad. This is how companies fail, People will spread the word if something is not done to correct and or at least set up a means to help those suffering this debacle.
    I for one, am fed up with the hunt and peck search online for an answer and the lack of getting hold of an English speaking person that has a solution that will correct ADOBE'S mistake here. I, like so many I have read about, have a valid copy/ license of CS4 Extended and have only used it on 1 computer until now for many years. We are licensed to use on two computers at a time at different locations, up to 20 reinstalls! This record of valid users and serial numbers is an easy archive by Adobe and should be self explanatory to anyone that researches it. Activated year one on one computer, used for many years on same computer, being activated on a new computer due to Windows XP no longer being supported! How difficult is that? What makes my serial numbers invalid? No one is accusing me of being a thief or Pirate, Adobe just made my serial numbers invalid for no good reason and I have to spend many frustrating hours chasing it down a dead end road! Adobe! See the problem and come forward with a place users can go for a centralized solution! I am a professional that can not afford this interruption to my schedule. A class action law suit is sure to follow if something is not done soon.
    Bad press is sure to follow. Your loyal customers will look elsewhere for what they need. I can't believe this is the plan.

    This software is expensive to buy originally. This software may just get a reputation that it is too expensive to purchase if Adobe is going to randomly shut it down by any claim they choose. Abuse of power? yes!  A company that does this sort of extortion to it's loyal clients won't be around long. If this is a way to force users to upgrade or pay more money to Adobe for a product they invested in years ago, with the expectation of uninterrupted use until the clients chose to upgrade, than shame on the corporate persons behind it. If this is just a bad string of poor judgement, than fix it fast- make a solution for the damage being done to your loyal customers.
    There are many other software solutions out there that do many of the same things for a lot less money than Adobe. Without the professional support of their product in the long run, Adobe may be just be another Greedy corporate monster that WAS!
    Prove me right in my being a satisfied long term customer, believing Adobe supports its products long term, and fix this serial number problem. My new computer and the old computer are both without a working CS4 system now. What are you going to do about this major software BUG?

  • Aperture upgrade won't open with serial number

    I have a retail license for aperture version 2.1 with the serial numbers on the jacket for the cd. Several times after upgrades the new version will ask for my name and serial number. The latest upgrade to 3.4.5 tells me that my serial number is invalid. Any suggestions?

    Thank you so much for your reply but I want to apologize for wasting your time with this question. I was making a "rookie" mistake by using my cd jacket information from version 2.1. After reading your reply I looked further into my cd's and found the version 3.0 cd with the info I needed on the jacket. The correct serial number works fine with the upgrade.

  • Error "The serial number is not valid for this product" | Creative Suite

    HI together,
    I'm very annoyed about the fact that I payed for Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium 5 (EDU version) and now I'm not able to use it on my new Mac. The Support team (Chat) from Adobe told me several times that the product/serial or whatever was canceled but this doesn't help me to get the product working and I won't pay again for this software. So what's the reason for cancellation? I can't see reasons for this and I don't understand why Support team can't help me. Already found Error "The serial number is not valid for this product" | Creative Suite but this doesn't helped me.

    Maybe this is also useful... They told me I canceld this by myself which is not the truth. I had a Windows machine and used Creative Cloud as well but I only canceld the Cloud, not my Serial Number for Production Premium...
    So who is able to reactivate my Serial Number so that I'm able to use my product?

  • Serial number has been registered before!

    I bought a new macbook pro and was trying to register the product online. it is a sucsessful registration on the product. However when i try to update the MAC OS X to Lion, it cannot be updated and request to use the up-to-date program to submit some of the information.
    I did submit twice on the up-to-date program. Cause the first email was reflected that the attached receipt was illegible. Hence, i upload another with a more high and clear pixel jpg. by right it should be clear enough. It still doesn't work out.
    I call up to apple support to ask. With the Serial number check, found out that my serial number has been registered before with another person name, and is not under my name. moreover that the purchase date is on April 2011. Which cause my warranty to be expired on the April 2012.
    I very doubt that my macbook pro is not new. Or been used before and return to the store.
    DId anyone experience that same problem?

    If the item is brand new out of the box then it may just simply be someone accidentally registered their system serial with yours by spelling mistake (S instead of 5, B instead of 8, etc..)
    Best way to resolve this is just call AppleCare and provide them with your proof of purchase and the serial number, I'm sure they can sort it out if you get to the right department.
