Serial numbers in stock transports

Hi,
I cannot post goods issue a stock transport order delivery from plant 1000 to 2000 without maintiaining a serial number profile in both the plant.
So i have to maintain the profile in both Plants?
One plant uses serial numbers and the other doesnt.
Please explain.

Hi there,
Serial num stored in MARC-SERNP is a plant specific profile. In 1 plant material can have profile Z001 & in anouther it can have Z002. So as a practise we always maintain serial num profile in MM02.
Basing on the serial num profile some procedures are assigned by which serial num assignment is mandatory for GR & GI etc (for eg MMSL, HUSL, SDLS etc). Basing on what is required & what is optional you will have to maintain the serial num when doing GR or PGI.
So check in SPRO --> SD --> Basic functions --> serial num --> determine serial num profile.

Sivanand

  • Adding serial number to stock transport order

I've read in the SAP documentation that you can add equipment serial numbers to stock transport orders but I can't find any way to get this accomplished.   Can anyone give me some guidance?
    Thanks!

I should add that when we try to create the stock transport order using ME27, select the line and then go to Item --> More Functions --> Serial Number, an error message comes up saying "This function not allowed here".  Double-clicking the message brings up an explanation about a missing entry in table T168.  I searched OSS and have found quite a few notes related to this table but none that have to do with serial numbers or transaction ME27.

  • DTW serial numbers with stock take count

Has anyone worked out a way to use DTW to load serial numbers into the stock count sheets along with the item counts?

thanks Joseph but I am trying to do a regular monthly stock take, not a stock 'document' like a receipt or transfer.
The DTW template oStockTakings is what I have always used; this loads the stock counts into the "Initial Quantities, Stock Tracking and Stock Posting" screen.  But I haven't tried to stock count serialised items before and want to know if there is some way to also load up the counted serial numbers, rather than having to intervene manually at the stock posting tab of the screen mentioned above.
    kind regards,
    Cathy

  • Serial Numbers for stock on hand.

    Hi guys,
I want to migrate stock on hand of finished goods. I also have to migrate serial numbers for these finished goods. But, i cant find a transaction where I can do this!!! Can anyone help pls!?
I tried to do GR in MIGO, but the serial number tab opens up only for GR towards an order.

    Hello Sandeep,
    1. As suggested by Dillibabu, you need to maintain your material with Sr number profile as per the business needs.
Please check the sr number profile usage in T-code OIS1 and OIS2 (Configuration mode - SPRO)
    2. There are two option to upload/migrate the data
    a. Manual Approch : incase, you have very few data you can think about this approch.
    b. LSMW : Use LSMW if you have mass data migration, the object is provided by SAP for goods movement.
    Object               0110   Goods movement
    Method              0000
    Program Name   RM07MMBL
    Program Type     B   Batch Input
Take the help from technical guy if you are new to LSMW.
    Hope this helps.

  • Need Serial Numbers frm Database

    Hi all,
How  to take dump for serial numbers in stocks  for a given material group  from the SAP database. I have tried using table "EQUI" but here I could not get the details as required by me though plant and storage are available in table "EQUI".Then I tried getting it from table "EQBS" here in input selection screen since there is no option for Material number I have to give Equipment number. In our case every single serial number has unique equipment number. So one material code has N serial numbers and N equipment numbers maintained in stocks.
    To summarize in simple way
My requirement is to get all the serial numbers available against each material code in a given material group which are in stocks through tables.

  • Serial numbers for availabel stock at a specified date

    Dear all,
does anyone know how to get the serial numbers that correspond to the available stock of a material in a specific plant and storage location at a specified date? Is there a bapi, a function module or a class that can do this?
For example, lets say we have the serialized material A and the available stock of the material A in the plant 1000 and storage location 0001 on 15-10-2009 (which is not the current date, but can be any date in the past) is 5 pieces. Can we find the 5 corresponding serial numbers of the material and how?
    Looking forward to your replies.

  • Stock check error message in serial numbers problem

    Dear Experts,
In serial number profiles i did the stock check indicator to give an error message if there were incosistinces in stock data,
    now this is the scenario:
after doing an external maintenance order and creating a PO with reference to the maintenance order PR, and also entering the specified serial number in the PO:
    1) Goods Issuing: i used MB1B with movement type 541 and as the serial number already exist and not wrong so it didnt show any error messages and by checking the stock data in MMBE the material was in stock provided to vendor.
    2) Goods Receipt: when using MB01 with movement type 101 and when entering the serial number of the material it gives an error message ALTHOUGH it is the same serial number issued and the same serial number in the PO
This is the error message :
Stock data of serial number G081 not suitable for movement
    Message no. IO231
    Diagnosis
The current stock information for the serial number G081 contradicts the stock information of the movement to be posted. The following stock information is valid for the document and the serial number:               Batch Number Stock data Serial data   C2
Only the first different field for the stock data/serial data is assigned. However, further data may also be inconsistent. To determine whether this is the case, you can start an analysis.
    System Response
Two system responses are possible (set using Customizing): If the case of an error occurring, the assignment of the serial number to this posting procedure is not possible. In the case of a warning, you can, if necessary, transfer the notification.
    Procedure
Assign a serial number which corresponds in your stock information to the stock data of the posting. You can display the serial numbers which can be used using Select serial numbers.
    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks in advance

    Try with MB04 t-code.
And External Operation scenario is as follows:
External Operations will be defined in Maintenance Order with control key PM02. There price will be maintained. So based on that, PR will be created for the External operations. Convert to PO & do GR for operations. I guess, here we can't do any goods issue of material to sub-contractor.
The reason is that in Sub-contracting, issue item & receiving item should be different. It can't be same. But here in our case, material code & serial number are same.
    So try this process.
Check the below link for External Processing.

  • DTW Stock with Serial Numbers

Hi all, I DTW'd some stock in through the GRPO template. I then AP'd the invoice. Due to some administrative issues I had to credit the Invoice thus reversing the stock. So the Serial Numbers are all reflecting as unavailable.
I need to re-import the stock with the same serial numbers and different costs. The DTW is giving me an error "(Serial Number) for item (Item Code) in line 1 already exists (in unique field)/Application defined or object defined error65171"
I realise that these serial numbers are already in the system, but if I manually capture these on the GRPO the the application asks me to confirm this already exists. There are almost 2000 items to capture. Please could someone advise if there is possibly a field on the DTW template (purchase delivery) I could populate that overides this error"

Are you using the oInventoryGenEntry templates? The serial numbers template I have contains 3 serial numbers - Internal, Manufacturer & System. The system serial number is the unique key and is system generated.
Try the following to get a list of on hand stock with serial numbers:
    {SELECT T0.ItemCode, T0.ItemName,
          T1.WhsCode, CASE WHEN ISNULL(T2.SysSerial,-1) = -1 THEN T1.OnHand ELSE 1 END [Quantity], T0.AvgPrice,
          T2.SysSerial, T2.IntrSerial
    FROM OITM T0
          INNER JOIN OITW T1 ON T1.ItemCode = T0.ItemCode
          LEFT OUTER JOIN OSRI T2 ON T2.ItemCode = T1.ItemCode AND T2.WhsCode = T1.WhsCode AND T2.[Status] = 0
    WHERE T1.OnHand <> 0    and t0.ManSerNum = 'Y'
    ORDER BY T0.ItemCode, T1.WhsCode, T2.SysSerial}
You may need to tweak it a bit for your eviironment.

  • Serial numbers assigned to booked stock but irrelevant at goods issue point

Can anyone help me get a better understanding of material serial numbers?
I am exploring this area  using SAP standard configuration:
    i)     I have created a material that that has assigned to it serial number profile 0001 which includes:
    a.     SDAU     Serial numbers in SD order 01 (No)
    b.     SDCC     Completeness check for delivery 03 (Mandatory)
    c.     SDLS     Maintain delivery 02 (Optional)
ii)     I have used MIGO to place 2 items in stock (GR 561 u2013 initial stock balance) and as expected the serial number tab opened up and I assigned 2 unique serial numbers to each of my pieces of stock: Serial_Test_1 & Serial_Test_2
iii)     I then created a sales order (OR) for one item and again as expected, the item was scheduled for immediate delivery from stock without reference to the relevant serial number
iv)     The problem was that I then managed to create a delivery and pick it without being prompted for a serial number (mandatory completeness check?)
    v)     I then went back into the delivery and assigned a serial number via Item u2013 Serial Numbers but it let me input and serial number that wasnu2019t associated with any item I had in stock (e.g.  Serial_Test_3) which I then PGIu2019d!
vi)     Going back to my stock overview, I now only had 1 item (good) but both serial numbers were present (bad .. I think)?
Am I missing something here? Is there a prerequisite action I must take to get the system to insist on a particular stock item to be specified before it can be issued and that the stock overview will only show serial numbers for items that are in stock? My system at present appears corrupt to me as I only have one item in stock but 2 serial number?
Any help or insight much appreciated.

    Hi,
You posted qty 2 with serial number's
Now you have stock of 2 qty with serial number
when you do delivery, you have to assign serial number which is already in stock.then it will show status properly
Remain qty 1 and 1 serail number.

  • Stock with serial numbers

    Hi,
Is there any standard report for which gives us the details of stock and related serial number for a set of materials. If not, kindly give me pointers towards the tables to be accessed for generating a query.
    regards
    Kiki

Thanx Bala.  I am aware of MMBE TC.  There i get for only one material.  I need to know for a set of materials.  The requirement is like this,  the client wants to know what are all the materials having serial number profile and what is the stock status for the same and if stock is avl, is it stored with respect to the serial numbers and what are the serial numbers and the count of stock which does not have serial numbers.  The client wants it in one single TC.  I know there is no such standard TC avl in SAP.  I would want to make a query and assign a TC to the same.  In this context i was searching for the table which holds this serial number details.  The stock can be got from MARD and the serial no profile from MARC.  I am not able to locate the table for serial numbers.  Any pointers for this would be highly appreciated.
