Server Pool shows locked how to fix?

Hello all,
Okay, have been rebuilding my server pool in regards to adding the servers back. I was having issues with vlan traffic not being based on my 10gb bonded ports. I could migrate a perfectly working vm to the VM server and have the access fail so I had them reinitialized. Two of them also needed to be rebuilt. Having said that:
1.) When I discovered these servers and then tried to add them to the pool, it seemed to take a much longer time than normal. Trying to abort the job gave me an error that the "Add Server" was locked. I was finally able to delete the server only by restarting the Oracle VM Manager server.
2.) I am getting a locked icon for my pool, see picture.
How do I:
1.) Unlock the server pool via the OVMM CLI?
2.) What could cause the extremely long time to just try to add a server to the pool?

What version of iPhoto?
If it's 09 or later try
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Installed sync on Firefox 3.6.8. I receive error message: Server Incorrectly Configured. How to fix it?

I installed Sync on Windows XP Home Edition, Firefox 3.6.8, with Zone Alarm and AVG anti-virus. Sync is not updating, instead it produces error message: Server Incorrectly Configured and hangs up. How to fix it?

OVM Server Pool shows Error

We are running OVM 2.2 on HP chassis with passthrough modules. Our OVM environment crashed hard three times because of the HP hardware we were using. I was able to restart most of the vm and get things running. I now have a error status on my server pool. The Logs show nothings wrong so I don't know where to search. I can not access any resources such as templates, nor add new vm nor add new VM hosts. I love the product and I am new to it. I have exusted my search so this forum is my last hope.

Client IMAP folder duplication after upgrade to 10.8.2 server. Anyone know how to fix this?

Just upgraded my client's server from 10.6.8 to 10.8.2. It's a Mac mini 2.66Ghz. Now when I launch an email client on a computer on the network (Mail or Outlook specifically) I get multiple IMAP folders created i.e. Deleted Messages 1, Deleted Messages 11, Deleted Messages 111 etc ..... The console log for mail reports that the file names are too long but nothing about their creation. Has anyone seen this before and know how I can fix it?

Do those folders exist on the server?
You'll need to navigate into the mailstore folder via terminal.
With dovecot, all folders start with a "."
Do you see all of those dup folders?
Check permissions on your entire mailstore, everything should be owned by '_dovecot' and group 'mail'
You could reset perms of the mailstore (assuming default location of the mailstore) with:
sudo chown -R _dovecot:mail /Library/Server/Mail/Data/mail/

I have an IPhone 5 & trying to get my info back that I just lost. Someone advised to look under ITunes Preferences, device backups, however mine is showing my IPhone backup is locked. How do I undo that?

Here is more info on what you are seeing. It is called an Encrypted backup.

In the iTunes Summary screen, select "Encrypt iPhone backup" if you want to encrypt the information stored on your computer when iTunes makes a backup. Encrypted backups are indicated by a padlock icon, and a password is required to restore the information to iPhone. You may want to write down the password for your backup and store it in a safe place. If you use a Mac, when you set a password you can select to store the password in the keychain. With iOS 4 and later, you can transfer the iOS keychain backup to a new device if you encrypt the backup.
Warning: If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. If you forget the password, you can continue to back up and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.
If you cannot remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore, choose set up as a new device

Oracle VM sever on the Manager -server pool shows status as unreachable

Hi,
I have 2.2 Oracle vm server which was working fine , has 4 VMN's on it and was registered to the manager 2.2
If I go on serverpool or server tab in the manager - it shows inactive and unreachable,even though the sever actually is alive and VM's are running onit.
Its just the communciation or connection between server and manager is broken somewhere.I really need help
The Disk and memory status became - 'Not Available" on the manager.
This was when i initiated - Create new Virtualk machine.
Usually after next refresh ot comes back ,but in this case - its still on unknown state.
All the vm's though are up and runnning fine - the status on the manager shows as - powered off.
If I try to manually - powere on - I get an error in the manager logs -
Start - /OVS/running_pool/1239_2k8
PowerOn Failed : Result - failed:<OVSException: no server of type 'xen' ready to run the vm.>
StackTrace:
File "/opt/ovs-agent-2.2/OVSSiteVM.py", line 79, in start_vm
raise e
Please help
I have rebooted the server but no luck.

I have experienced the same issue. Here is a way to workaround to solve it:
1. login to OVM manager host as oracle user
2. Set the propler environment to login to the OVM reporistory database. for exampl in Unix/Linux
export ORACLE_HOME='/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server'
export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$PATH
export ORACLE_SID=XE
3. Login to the repository database as ovs user:
sqlplus ovs/<passsword>
and run the following SQLs:
update ovs_server set status = 'Active' where SERVER_NAME = '<OVS serverhostname.domain.com>';
commitl;
4. Go to OVM manager and cllick the refresh button on the servers page. The status of the OVS server will be changed to 'Active'
and you can power on the VM.

My fan keeps running , the help i am sent refers to SMC reset mac mini late 2011 server dont show this, how can i stop the fan running continuously

i got help previouly but it went down the route of
the instuctions going nowhere referring to a n Activiity centre and Show option on taskbar menu, my mac mini dont have this
2011 late mac mini server, origninally on lion but i foolishly upgraded to mountian loin and the machine hasnt worked properly since

To reset the SMC means to reset the power management settings for your Mac. To do this, follow these simple steps.
1) Shutdown your Mac by going to the Apple Logo in the upper left hand corner of the screen and selecting "Shut Down" from the drop down menu.
2) Turn your machine back on while continuing to hold down the power button.
3) After the initial boot chime, your power indicator light should flash three times.
4) Your screen will remain black and you will hear the boot chime again. At this point, you may release the power button and allow your Mac to boot up normally.

IPad 1 iOS 5 software iTunes lyrics not showing. How to fix that

Hello all iPad users (especially iPad 1). Today, I have finally upgraded my iPad software to iOS 5 after many days of neglect. I was very happy with the new software until I found out that all my work of searching the lyrics of the songs in my iTunes became useless because THEY DO NOT SHOW!!!! Can someone please help me with this??? I will be very happy with any helpful answer. Thank you very much. ^^

The Music app on iOS 5 on the iPad doesn't support lyrics. You can try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe it'll be reinstated in a future release : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

Firefox showing artifacts, how to fix it?

Almost always when I use firefox it shows pink squares with a text-like shape, it also happens when I open .pdf files.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

Trying p2v import of virtual machine image, server pool not chooseable

I'm trying to import a virtual machine image via p2v from an OEL 5 bare metal image. I go to resources, virtual machine images, Import, choose p2v, and then on the General Information page, it asks for Server Pool Name. The name of my one and only server pool is not in the dropdown. The dropdown only contains "Select Server Pool". I tried to fill in the rest and hit Next but it failed me on the Server Pool name.
How can I get the server pool name to show up in that dropdown?
There is one server pool, one server, and one vm already on that server.

It's a bug, I had the same problem. I used this and it worked (copying and pasting from an old thread with the solution):
Workaround:
VM Manager -> Server Pools -> Select Server Pool Name -> EDIT -> Check the box of “Enable High Availability” -> Apply -> Ignore the “Shared storage is not mounted, or the file system is invalid. The file system should be OCFS2 or NFS.” error message. Leave unchecked the box of ”Enable High Availability” -> Apply again:
“The server pool updated successfully.”
Now you can retry the import.
