Dear Gurus,
I am very much new Application Server, Now what i need is i have installed only J2EE in old server and deployed a custom application, now i want to take that custom application and put it on new server where actually 10gAS is installed, but when i try to start OC4J as mention below it shows initialized, but when try to check the page by using the following url: http://10.15.1.50:8888/ it says it cannot display the page, but when i type the following url: http://10.15.1.50/ and press enter it give me oracle application server page (Welcome to Oracle Application Server Forms and Reports Services.
D:\oracle\FRHome\j2ee\home>java -jar oc4j.jar
08/02/06 17:23:48 Error starting HTTP-Server: Address already in use: JVM_Bind
08/02/06 17:23:51 Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.2.0.2)
initialized
Please help me
Regards
Kiran Rana

Hi,
The following line suggests that you are already using port 8888 for some other use.
08/02/06 17:23:48 Error starting HTTP-Server: Address already in use: JVM_Bind
netstat -a | grep 8888 This command would confirm if the port is being used for something else.
Also you can stop the oc4j and change port to something different lets say 8088 and then start it and see if it works.
Hope this helps.
thanks

I have OVS 3.x.x and OVM 3.x.x running on the same physical server.  I had some issues trying to configure storage via OVM and  I issued a shutdown (I think) from the OVM Web Interface.  Now I am unable to keep the server up and running.  Everytime I turn on the server, after Oracle VM Manager starts, it shuts down the server automatically within a minute or two after startup.
I am able  to login to the server via Putty and stop ovmm service manually.  When Oracle VM Manager service is stopped, (SERVICE OVMM STOP) the server does not shutdown automatically.  However as soon as I restart the OVMM service, it shuts down the server with message...

How do I find out what is causing OVM to issue the shutdown command and edit and fix via command line?

Since your server was continually rebooting, do you remember if you issued a shutdown or reboot from OVM web interface?  Mine was just shutting down.  Have you tried to use the Oracle Virtual Manage Web Interface to either reboot or shutdown the server after your upgrade to 3.2.4?  FYI I do not have support.  This is my sandbox.

I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to do.
Once you install commcli, you should be able to use the command-line tools. They work, but you have to have been consistant in giving answers to all the questions asked.
You also may not share the amadmin password with any other password. It must be unique.
There is no need to compile anything to get Messaging Server to work, or to provision it with commcli.

  • Up and running, but veeeerrry slooowwwly

I've got an Xserve I set up recently. It's an Open Directory Replica and is bound to Active Directory (DNS is also hosted by Active Directory). It's running, it responds just fine to pings, the DNS responses for the IP and hostname are coming back fine.
However, there are many things it has trouble with. For starters, if I try to connect to it with Workgroup Manager or Server Admin, it's extremely slow, even when run locally. It will also choke frequently, posting an error telling me to refresh the display.
iChat server is up and running, but any client I try to connect to it -- iChat clients on MacBooks or Spark clients on PCs -- says the host can't be found. Meanwhile, the same settings work when connecting to an Xserve in another campus which is configured the same way. I'm also trying to get iCal server up and running, but it keeps saying a virtual host can't be found, and again, near as I can tell, the required services are set up the same way on our first server, the OD Master.
I don't know if it's related, but logins for our MacBooks are also extremely slow, and we frequently get the login box shaking at us. (I've had a few teachers jump in their car and drive down the street out of network range so they can log on with their cached mobile credentials because it's faster and more reliable.) We don't seem to have the same problem at our high school campus, where the laptops are configured the same way. Clients are bound to the local Xserve and to Active Directory, and the OD server is before AD in the search order.
The only difference in setup between this one and our last is an Apple software engineer set up our first one, so I'm worried I may have missed something. There is no firewall configured, and the changeip command indicates I'm not having any host/IP conflicts. I'm kind of an Apple rookie, so I'm kind of at a loss as to what to look for next. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I feel like I'm getting closer. First, the connector on our cable didn't fit snugly. Tug it slightly and it lost contact. I put a new cable on the server and now it seems more robust. Server Admin opened faster, anyway.

This server is bound to Active Directory (using Directory Utility -- don't know if I need to do it elsewhere?) and I'm not sure what was trying to authenticate at that time.
My error messages for "server not found" have gone away for my iChat client, but now it just pops up the authentication window over and over when I try to log in. I'm wondering if there's something missing in the server binding?

  • Do i need a network card to install and run a local java web server

    Friends,
Do i need a network card in my computer to install and run a local Java Web Server or any Web Server.

network cards are only for connecting equipment together... you can set up a webserver without any more equipment than you have already! Indeed Tomcat... BUT you would be better off with apache for production stuff. It depends what you need to serve... if its mainly static pages (i guess it probably isn't) then apache will be enough by itself; but if you need to serve dynamic pages (JSP, Servlet blah blah) then you will need tomcat. Tomcat has it's own webserver and its perfectly ok for testing or low-load stuff, but you can integrate with Apache (a moderately compex task, but do-able, see tomcat-user forum off of apache site) for greater stability, and you don't have to show the port in the URL... Don't set up a webserver on any pc that contains stuff you don't want hacked into... it becomes very succeptible when the service is up...

  • Java compilation and running within jsp page

    hi,
i need of a jsp page that has a textarea in which the java coding are entered and this coding is compiled and executed. The execution result is printed.
    Please guide me.

I don't think you can invoke java compiler or run time environment at client side (browser). Even if you use applet, i think you will not be able to do it at client side. Moreover, though java virtual machine will be available in your target user's browser, but you should not expect a java compiler in users machine.
I have seen exam sites where they have added java code compilation and execution ability. To achieve this you can do:
    1. In your JSP page use text area where user can edit java code.
    2. Provide two buttons - 'Compile' and 'Run'.
    3. On click of 'Compile' send the code to server side. In server machine create a file in a temporary location in disk and save the code content received from client.
    4. Invoke 'javac' command (as a separate process) to compile the java class created in step 3. This process will give you error/output back which you can send back to user.
    5. In case of 'Run' you must first invoke above mentioned 'Compile' service and then another service ('Run') to actually run you java class. You can build 'Run' service in similar way.
Here you challenge would be managing multiple client requests (to compile and run java class) at the same time.
Code to compile and run java classes:
    import java.io.*;
    * A class to compile and run java classes.

  • Running Page in OAF and VO Extension

    Hi,
I have extended a VO on my local machine and am running the page on my local machine itself. Yet I cannot see the extended VO in About this page.
I created the substitution in project, do I need to load this into MDS as well even for pages run from local PC ? Also notice it takes a lot of time for my project to rebuild and page to finally render, any ideas why or how to optimize the runtime.
    Thanks
    Shanky

    Parag,
If I extend a VO and run the page in jdev itself, shouldn't the extended VO page page show me my personalised VO instead of the seeded VO ?
I understand by moving files across etc to server and bouncing Apache, it will show in Apps.
But my query is if I want to run it from my PC itself, to check if my VO extension has worked or not if I run that page from jdev, shouldn't the 'About this Page' show me my extended VO ?
    Hope I am explaining well.
    Thanks

Try accessing the dynamic wsdl (http://server.com:7777/orabpel/default/service/1.0/service?wsdl)

  • Safari and firefox 'cannot find the server' for every other page that i navigate to, unless I turn Wifi off and on. How do I fix this?

Safari and firefox 'cannot find the server' for every other page that i navigate to, unless I turn Wifi off and on. Once i reconnect to the network, the page loads, but after loading a few more pages, the same thing happens all over again.
This happens each and every time, on different Wifi networks, in different locations.  On the other hand, I don't ever encounter this problem when I tether my laptop to my mobile phone's 3g/2g network using Personal Hotspot. How do I fix this?

    Try this DNS server ...
Open System Preferences > Network > Advanced > DNS
    Click + and type:
    208.67.222.222
Click + again and do the same.
    208.67.220.220
    Click OK.
Quit and relaunch both your browsers to test.
If that doesn't help, try here >  iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
And here >  Wi-Fi: How to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity

  • Exchange Server 2013 and Remote Access VPN on a single server running Windows Server 2012?

Just by way of background, I have been installing and administering network servers, e-mail systems, VPN servers, and the like for many years.  However, my involvement with Exchange and Windows Server has been mostly on the forensics and data recovery
level, or as a (sophisticated) user.  I have never tried to deploy either from scratch before.  My deployment experiences have been mostly with Linux in recent years, and with small private or personal "servers" running such cutting edge
software as Windows XP back when it was new.  And even NetWare once.
When a client asked me if I could set up a server for his business, running Exchange Server (since they really want Outlook with all of its bells and whistles to work, particularly calendars) and providing VPN access for a shared file store, I figured it
could not be too difficult given that its a small business, with only a few users, and nothing sophisticated in the way of requirements.  For reasons that don't bear explaining here, he was not willing to use a vendor hosting Exchange services or cloud
storage.  There is no internal network behind the server; it is intended to be a stand-alone server, hanging off a static IP address on the Internet, providing the entirely mobile work-force of about 10 people with Exchange-hosted e-mail for their computers
and phones, a secure file store, and not much else.  If Exchange didn't need it, I would not need to install Active Directory, for example.  We have no direct need for its services.
So I did the research and it appears, more by implication than outright assertion, that I should be able to run Windows Server 2012 with Exchange Server 2013 on a server that also hosts Remote Access (VPN only) and does nothing else.  And it appears
I ought to be able to do it without virtualizing any of it.  However, I have spent the last three or four days fighting one mysterious issue after another.  I had Remote Access VPN working and fairly stable very quickly (although it takes a very
long time to become available after the server boots), and it has mostly remained reliable throughout although at times while installing Exchange it seems to have dropped out on me.  But I've always been able to get it back after scrounging through the
logs to find out what is bothering it.  I have occasionally, for a few minutes at a time, had Exchange Server willing to do everything it should do (although not always everything at the same time).  At one point I even received a number of e-mails
on my BlackBerry that had been sent to my test account on the Exchange Server, and was able to send an e-mail from my BlackBerry to an outside account.
But then Exchange Server just stopped.  There are messages stuck in the queues, among other issues, but the Exchange Administration Center refuses now to display anything (after I enter my Administrator password, I just get a blank screen, whether on
    the server or remotely).
So, I am trying to avoid bothering all of you any more than I have to, but let me just begin with the basic question posed in the title: Can I run Exchange Server (and therefore Active Directory and all of its components) and Remote Access (VPN only) on
a single Windows Server 2012 server?  And if so, do I have to run virtual machines (which will require adding more memory to the server, since I did not plan for it when I purchased it)?  If it can be done, can anyone provide any pointers on what
the pitfalls are that may be causing my problems?  I am happy to provide whatever additional information anyone might like to help figure it out.
    Thanks!

An old thread but I ran into this issue and thought I share my solution since I ran into the same issue. Configuring VPN removes the HTTPS 443 binding on the Default Site in IIS for some strange reason; just go and editing the bindings, add HTTPS and things
    should be back to normal.

I have completed MSSQL server configuration and while configuring VMM the below error displayed in the wizard:
An internal error has occurred trying to contact an agent on the WIN-NTJTNEJ1UCN.mydomain.com server: : .
Ensure the agent is installed and running. Ensure the WS-Management service is installed and running, then restart the agent.
I have checked that the following services are running:
    1) Verified WS-Management srvice 2) MSSQL server + MSSQL (agent)  3)SC VM Manager Agent  4)  Windows management instrumentation .
I have joined the VM (on which installing SC VMM) in a domain(as per install guide) and installing VMM using domain account & it is in local Administrators group.
Also I would like know if there is any stand alone SC VMM installer. If yes then please let me know the installer location & install guide.
    thanks.
