Service Calls - Major Bug or am I doing something stupid?

Following on from a previous post I made:
There are service calls for this equipment card
Since version 2007 you can't change the customer equipment card's customer if there's related service calls (even if they're closed). I have made this post above without any feedback and it's a major issue in my client's business.
They service, repair, maintain and move fridges between stores. So they will collect a fridge that's at a restaurant that's closing down and install it at another restaurant. The fridge is created as a customer equipment card in SBO. Seeing that we can't simply change the customer anymore, we now have to terminate the first customer's customer equipment card (let's say Restaurant A, Serial number 123) and create a new, active customer equipment card for Restaurant B, Serial number 123.
Next step I am creating a service call for Restaurant B, Serial Number 123. I fill in all the details, update it. Put in a resolution and close the call.
Guess what happens??? The customer changes back to the customer with the terminated customer equipment card (Restaurant A). Even if I drill down on the serial number it takes me to the terminated serial 123, not the active one.
How can this happen? My client cannot function without this working, it's a major issue! Please respond someone, I'm sending this query to SAP too, but any other comments welcome.

Ok, did another test and it seems to only have this behavior from the SDK. Works perfectly fine if done via SAP Business One User Interface, but via the SDK it changes the customer and customer equipment card to the non-active ones.

    OK, so I'm the only person in San Francisco who does not have an iPod. But I would like to listen to some iPod broadcasts which are available from the iTunes store.
    I can get to the correct destination in the iTunes music store: Podcasts>PBS>Shields and Brooks|NewsHour with Jim Lehrer Podcast|PBS. Once there, it looks a lot like the setup when I purchase and download regular music from the store (which I do with no problems).
    The main difference is that there are various buttons which say "Subscribe" and "Get Episode", but when I push them nothing happens.
    If I select an episode and double-click on it, it appears in the player window, but cannot be played.
    Evidently there is more to this podcast stuff than I realize. Any help will be appreciated!

  • Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? (Custom Buttons)

    I have a project where I've created a custom buttonbase which has a custom skin.
    Create a button that uses the custom skin which extends the custom button base the first time the button is used it doesn't work the way I would expect.
    Here's what happens. The first time the app is loaded the button's up state shows up just fine. If I mouse over the button it flashes black for a second while it loads the mouse over state. If I mouse out and over again it works normally. Now if I click on the button it flashes black again while it loads the selected state and then the selected over state. After the first time the button functions correctly. But naturally I don't want the button to flash black the first time it's used. I want it to show my custom skin the first time not the second and subsequent times.
    I've included a project that demonstrates the problem. I have added some for loops in the part of the code that determines the custom colors for the button, just so that the black flash is really obvious.
    If you look at it there are three classes. The ButtonSkinBase which defines the base look for all skinned buttons. The ButtonSkin which is a specific skin to use. And the ButtonGraphic which is just a custom definition for a button.
    I think the problem is in the SDK in that it isn't loading the ButtonGraphics in the ButtonSkinBase class before they are used. It loads them when they are used. However, I'm not that experienced with the way the SDK functions under the covers so it could be that I'm not doing something I need to do.
    Any help with this would be great.

Because I know that the includeIn isn't creating the other buttons untill they are needed. I need them created when the button is created. That is my question, how do I get the other states to be created when the button is created so that I don't see the button flash black?

    If its an IMAP account, they both read the same account.
    If its a POP account check that you leave it on server and don't delete after x days.
    Check your account on server as well as on both your clients.

    Gerhard, thanks for your response.  In replying to you post below, I discovered some more information and "sort of" got it to work, but I still don't understand the issue.
    If you look at my video at 2:11 mark, you will see the following structure
    Sales_Data => Branch_State => State
    The sales data is at the branch level.   Each Branch is only in one state.  The state table exits because it is connected down one path to Sales_Data but via another path to Weekly_Promotions.  The weekly promotions
    are only stored at the State level, not the branch level, so I need this structure.
    So if I use the State field from the Branch_State table for my slicer, it works - that is why I just discovered when I was replying here.  But I don't know why the higher level State only slicer doesn't work.

  • OS X Snow Leopard Display Driver BUG (Apple should be doing something...)

    Many of you are having problems conecting your Flat-Panel Monitor to the Mac Mini (2010), the picture wont fit the screen at max resolution, and if you use underscan option the text bleeds and the quality is very bad.
    *_But if you install Windows using BootCamp the Flat-Screen Monitor works flawlessly_.*
    Its unbelievable that Apple still cant make their display driver work fine...
    and there is no way to report this bug that its afecting all users that are not using their mac mini with a TV
    do you know a way to report this issue to Apple?

  • History in my search bar will not clear even though I have selected all the appropriate settings under tools/privacy etc. Is this a Firefox bug or am I doing something wrong?

    No additional details - just can't figure out why the search history will not clear.

    when i go to Music > Artist > All, as you suggested, i see all the albums i have listed. doesn't really relate to my problem with artists with songs in one album, as well as song w/o album set, and the latter not showing up.
    but that reminds me, why is it when i go to the All section from a particular artist and they do have more than one album (or even no albums), the order of the songs is in the order they are in the albums.. if i wanted the order it is on albums, i would have selected that album for example.. it would be nice if the songs were in alphabetical order when you're NOT browsing by album, making a particular song easier to find (what if you have thirteen albums for example and u aren't sure which album a song is on, now you have to scroll through a seemingly random ordered list to find one song, alphabetical would be SOOOO helpful!)

  • I must be doing something stupid: Very poor quality DVD rendering!

    I am new to Apple products and after trolling this forum, I was able to create a DVD using iDVD on my Mac mini Core Duo - 2Ghz model. But, the video is of very poor quality (compression artifacts). I am lookging for guidance to creating a better video quality. But first, let me give you some background...
    I have created enough DVDs for my home videos captured both from my S-VHS camcorder and min-DV camcorders (both PAL and NTSC) using Pinnacle Studio (buggiest software in the world) and Adobe Premiere Elements under Windows. I have clear expectation of video quality and understand the quality differences between various standards.
    I have a fairly new toy - Canon Powershot TX1 digital camera which is an amazing compact camera that shoots 720p video @ 30fps and stores them in MJPEG format. Very good optics (10x optical image stabilized zoom). The only con is that it has very poor low light shooting ability.
    The steps I took to create this DVD...
    1. Import the .avi and .jpeg files from my camera into iPhoto library.
    2. Use iMovie (all part of iLife'08) to stitch the avi clips and also some of jpegs. Added transitions, titles and music in iMovie.
    3. Also, added some of my old low resolution avi files (from my older Canon camera - probably in 640x480 resolution).
    3. Exported it in the largest file mode (960x540) which created a 1.8GB file.
    4. Opened this movie file in Garageband and added the Chapter markers.
    5. Shared it with iDVD which automatically launched iDVD and showed the chapters in very nice scene selections menus.
    6. Invoked the Burn menu to burn the movie into a DVD using iDVD.
    Am I using the right methodology (I want the chapters)? I also observed that an earlier project which was pure 15 minutes of 720p content created a 4.7GB size exported file from iMovie whereas this current project has 51min of avi (of which about 10min is low res and the rest is in 720p format) and 12min of still photos produced a 1.8GB file when exported. This clearly tells me that the exported file is of poor quality. Why did that happen? Was it because I mixed the content and included low res videos?
    I should probably try creating a DVD from the pure 720p content and see how that looks.
    Any pointers would be a great help. BTW, the mac mini, iPhoto and iMovie forums are just awesome. The quality of posts and responses is very high.

    I exported it as a .dv file and then I was able to produce the DVD correctly with the Revolution theme and 11 chapters. I haven't done any editing any clips yet in iMovie. In most cases, I will not need to do that in most cases as the Canon TX1 creates individual avi clips every time I record and stop a recording. Having used a camcorder for over a decade now, I know how silly most of the recordings are.
    I will be rendering most of my videos as h.264 so that I can use the mac mini as a media server instead of using DVDs. I have to rip my own DVDs as h.264 soon (back to handbrake).
    PS: While creating my first DVD in OS X + iLife'08 tools, I noticed the following bugs:
    1. The clips disappear from the display in the editing window when the project becomes large and I had to zoom in and out to make them reappear. I verified that I wasn't viewing past the end of the last clip. If I hover the mouse in the blank window, it will show the clip in the preview window on the right.
    2. I had 11 chapters marked in Garageband and then I shared it with iDVD, it created two pages of scene selections with 6 chapters in each page. In the 2nd page, it added a random window (unconnected) for the 12th chapter that I didn't have. I didn't check for that and so my finished DVD has this weird 12th chapter with a copied moving clip in the window, but when selected, it doesn't do anything.
    These two bugs are way few compared to what Pinnacle Studio threw at me.

    Variable and Parameter declarations are a one-time deal:
    // note the ; seperator
    q.declareVariables ("Contract c; AccessKey a");
    // note the , separator
    q.declareParameters ("String pin, String forExample");
    So when you declare the access key variable, the query "forgets" about
    c, and expects it to be a field, and no longer a variable.

  • New Service Functionalily SP01 - Service Calls

    Some observations on Service Calls just in case I have missed something....
    Creating an Activity in WT against a Service Call does not pre-populate the Account code with that associated with the Service Call as it does in B1 ( it defaults to 'internal' account which creates a synch error if not manually overridden) . The correct account must be selected manually each time. I assume there is no work-around to this
    A Service Call can't be closed in WT it can only be marked as pending and closed in B1. Synch error states that it requires a solution or resolution. On adding a solution in WT it still can't be closed. The resolution text field in B1 is not available in WT. Is there any work-around?
    Service Calls linked to Service Contracts in B1 Synch fine to WT but on linking a new Service Call Created in WT to a Service Contract Created in B1; after synch  when the service call is retrieved in B1 I get the message:
    ' Loading Service Call: The Associated Contract (5), is no longer valid. remove it from service Call.'
    'Yes' / 'No'
    ....repeated continually until I remove the association in B1 by responding 'Yes'
    Would this possibly be due to date range conflicts or other B1 validation which is not mirrored in WT?

  • Default technician on service call

    Is there anyway to default the customer assigned technician to a service call.
    A technician is assigned to a business partner in the business partrner master. He must be assigned a role of technician.
    When you create an ecard for that customer, the techician is assigned from the BP master.  That is good. 
    However, when you create a service call for this customer, the technician does not default to the customer assigned technician.
    I hope I am missing something obvious.

    Unfortunately, you didn't miss anything, that's how standard B1 work.
    You could use this formatted-search
    SELECT lastName+', '+firstName FROM OHEM
    INNER JOIN OINS ON OHEM.empID=OINS.technician
    WHERE internalSN=$[OSCL.internalSN.0]
    AND itemCode=$[OSCL.itemCode.0]
    Assign this formatted search in Technician field in Service Call document. Hope this help.

    According to SAP note 937697 "Usage of SAP NetWeaver BI Diagnostics & Support Desk Tools", when running the tool, it gives following error:
    ADS does not work.(Service call exception; nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. The requested URL was:"http://sapbwd.ni.ad.newsint:50000/AdobeDocumentServices/Config?style=document")
    I have been looking into system to find out how to solve the issue, but could not, is there anyone who can help me with exact instructions what I do need to do.

    Dear Sahmad,
    I would suggest you to check notes 1004321 and 944221. The first one says that mostly of this kind of issues (and I have already seen several ones) is caused for bad passwords for user ADSUSER or this account expired. The second note is a troubleshoot note you can also do.
    You can also follow this procedure to check that:
    Please open the Visual Administrator and browse to Server -> Services -> Security Provider -> Policy Configurations
    In the Components tab you will see the service.destinations policy. Click on this and then click on the AccessDestinations security Role. Modify this and add the J2EE_ADMIN/Administrator user to this role and save.
    Maybe the password is not set correctly as well. I think it worths to be set it again. First you have to identify where your ADSUSER maintained.
    Go to http(s)://<SERVER>:<PORT>/useradmin search for ADSUSER If Datasource:
    - LDAP -> check psw of ADSUSER in LDAP and enter it in SM59
    - UME data -> check psw of ADSUSER  in Visual Admin and enter it in SM59
    - ABAP -> check psw of ADSUSER the ABAP system in the following client:
    Visual Admin->UME Provider->Properties->ume.r3.connection.master.client
    If you want, also, you can change the ADS by the SAP Export Library, as per SAP Note 1112132. It is very simple to activate and will bypass ADS, doing every function ADS does.
