Service Manager problem - ASAP

Hi,
In our server i am not able to see the services in service manager. can anyone tell me how to resolve it.
This is very important since i m not able to get the hardware key for server.
swapnil

Sapnil,
Assuming you get the ServerTools running on another machine and the entire SAP Business One system runs smoothly. Then you should have a deeper look on the Server to get the ServiceTools installed there.
- As soon you get it running there, you will be able to get the hardwarekey. (Actually, SAP Business One License service uses exactly the same hardwarekey, which Microsft uses in order to activate Windows Operating System.)
- Then change maintain this installation on our Marketplace and change the hardwarekey for this installation. If there should be a problem, refer to Notes [781853|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMSZ3PTU4ODAwMDAr)/bc/bsp/spn/smb_searchnotes/display.htm?note_langu=E&note_numm=781853] and [776869|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMSZ3PTU4ODAwMDAr)/bc/bsp/spn/smb_searchnotes/display.htm?note_langu=E&note_numm=776869].
- Request a new licensefile. Be patient, it might take some time until all settings were replicated.
- Import it on the just installed licence manager on the Server.
- Now you have 2 possibilities:
Enter the new licenseserver via SAP Business One ->Administration -> License ->License  Administration.
OR:
Stop the license service on the machine you used temporally for the ServiceTools. Afterwards open   Business One. Since the Licenseserver cannot be found anymore, you will be asked to enter name or IP adress of another licenseserver. Enter the name or IP adress of the Server.
- Deinstall the temporally installed licensesserver as soon you have verified everything runs smoothly again.
Kind regards
Mario

  • NI-Motion, 7344, NI-PAL Service Manager Problem

We have a 7344 motion card installed in a PC.  The error started
to happen after we had a power failure.  When the PC starts up the
following message is displayed: "NI-PAL Service Manager encountered a
problem and needed to close"  The Error signature is: szAppName:
    nipalsm.exe, szAppVer: 2.1.0.49152, sz ModName: NIMCInit.dll,
    szModVer:7.2.1.3003 offset: 0001cfac.
    More Details:
We have two 7344 motion cards: 1 and 2 and two computers A and B.
Both motion cards were installed in PC A when we had the power
failure.  We can install card 2 into either PC A or PC B and not
encounter the error.  We install card 1 into PC A and we have the
problem.  When card 1 is installed into PC B the problem does not
    occure.
    What should we do?
    Pat Pointer  ([email protected])

    Pat,
this is really weird behavior. Most likely the issue is caused by a harddrive problem on PC A which might be resolved by following these steps.
Run CHKDSK /F from the Windows recovery console
Uninstall NI-Motion and remove the 7344 boards.
Install NI-Motion 7.4 which is the latest NI-Motion version
Install the 7344 boards in your PC.
    I hope that helps,

  • NI-PAL Service Manager problem at startup of PC

I have been using the same version of LabVIEW (8.6) in the same computer with the same DAQ (PCI-6221) and the same OS (Windows XP Pro SP2) for a couple months but since a couple days ago, at startup I get a message saying that NI-PAL encountered an error and needs to close. When I click on "View more" it says that the problem is in szAppName: nimxs.exe szAppVer: 2.1.0.49152 szMonName: nipalut.dll szModVer: 1.5342.3.0 offset 00001204, and then, when I open an .exe built from a VI file, I get the error -2147220712, saying that such error occurred at DAQmx Create Channel (AI-Voltage-Basic) .vi: 4 and (AO-Voltage-Basic) .vi: 1(two different pop ups) and that there is no description of the error.
To my knowledge no one have added/modified/deleted any component or module.

    Hi EIEN1,
This problem is due to a corruption in DAQmx. A DAQmx reinstall should solve the problem. If it persists you should try erasing Max Database:

  • RV320 custom services management buggy

I've encountered several bugs and quirks, when trying to add custom services, and use them for firewall rules and port forwarding.
    Including:
Deleting a custom service, does not (always) delete the one checked
Deleting a custom service, adding a custom service from port forward page, sometimes adds an "any service" rule
A deleted custom service, suddenly re-appears when adding port forward, even though verified deleted in Service Management
Duplicate services exist in combobox when adding port forward, though no duplicates are present under Service Management
    I'm on firmware v1.1.0.09.
Are you aware of this Cisco? Is there a firmware fix scheduled?

    Same Issue for me too.
I don't believe that Cisco had mess so much with these RV32x series....
Not only the "service Management"  problems but i got other compatibility problems with VoIP providers.
It seem's that the NAT refresh time got some lake situation too, and unfortunately there is no option into the interface to change is value.
Give only few manual entries of service managment ports reduce this product into a residential usage, even this i meet these limitation with some residentials users with NAS that provide many services and absolutely need to open more than 30 ports.
Upnp can force to ad some entry, but in fact this can start another problem of overload the list in port forwarding
Cisco, can you read this, this is not an entry level of router we are talking here, and we can't effort to fall on basic services non work situation, please react fastest as you can to provide a thru fix on all these problems or we will need to completly forget Cisco Small Businness products routers.

I have been re-loading LabVIEW 8.0.1 Pro Dev Sytem, NI-DAQ (Traditional) and NI-DAQmx, all day.  This probelm seems to be related to the fact that I can, no longer, create executables or open my .lvproj files, yielding the other error:

You need to enable JSSO if you want the oc4jadmin password to be in scync with the other AS products. If you just want to login with oc4jadmin you perform the following steps. PLease note that if you change the passord in EM you will have to make these changes again to keep the password the same. JSSO is a cleaner solution.
To change the default password for the user "admin", follow these steps:
    - delete admin user
    - add admin user back
    - add admin user to the super user group "su1-grp"
    1. Go to OC4J_HOME/owsm/bin directory and modify manageUserGroups.properties
    user_id=admin
    user_name=admin user
    user_password=yourNewPassword
    user_email=[email protected]
    group_id=su1-grp
    group_desc=super user group
    2. Delete the existing admin user by executing
    wsmadmin manageUserGroups deleteUser
    4. Add the admin user again by executing
    wsmadmin.bat manageUserGroups addUser
    5. Add admin user to super user group
    wsmadmin.bat manageUserGroups addUserGroup
The admin user password is changed.

But my license manager is set as automatic in the services and application. How to bring these services in the list..?

    Hi Swapnil,
If you are using OS Windows Vista, before installing the Server Tools please check whether UAC (User
Account Control) is Set off. You can set it off from Control Panel=>User Account=>User Account Control. Please also deactivate "Data Execution Prevention" as per the attached note [1179514|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1odSZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1179514].
Please also go through SAP Note [1253820|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1odSZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1253820] describing a similar issue.

(For more information about this error, please click here), danach öffnet sich ein Fenster in dem Sie den Namen der DLL finden.

  • How can I escalate terrible FIOS service problems above FIOS field service management?

This is a long story, but I will try to keep it short and on point.  We use Verizon FIOS for land line telephone, Internet access and TV cable.  For the past four and a half months, we have suffered serveral outages a week and sometimes several outages in a single day on all three services.  Sometimes we lose our Internet connection for a few moments.  Sometimes telephone calls get dropped or there is no dial tone.  Sometimes we see pixelation or interference in the cable TV signal.
Often two services are affected at the same time.  We've recorded events where all three services were affected at one time.
In the Gateway router logs, we see errors messages that "opaque does not match!" and "rebinding lease."  These messages in the router logs occur at the same time stamps when we suffer dropped calls or cable TV interference.  It seem obvious, at least to me, that the problem is external to anything that is inside of our house.
We have opened a dozen or more support tickets.  We've had four Verizon field technicians come to our house.  We've gone through three Verizon Gateway routers.. We've accessed the Internet using only wireless connections of a week to try and rule out internal wiring problems with computer access to the Internet.
Verizon has replaced the ONT (optical network terminal) on the side of our house.  They changed the fibre channel cable that goes from the ONT to a vault out by the curb of the street.
We have opened a formal complaint with the FCC and with the PA Public Utility Commission.  But the problem has not been resolved.  We think that we're just getting the run around now from Verizon field service.  Yesterday, a service manager left me a voicemail where he suggested that our Internet problem was caused by a second router that we had hooked up to the Verizon router.  We DO NOT have a second router.  He said that there was a problem with cable TV interference in my area and 2nd level support was working on it.  He did not address the dropped landline calls.  He did not address why outages on more than one service would occur at the same time.
Does anyone have any advice on how I get our problem escalated?  We are at the end of our rope here and are considering canceling our service with Verizon and going with a competitor.  But even after all of this, we are hesitant to switch providers because we will lose our email accounts that we've used for well over a decade.

    Hi wepeccant,
Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

    Follow-up on this topic
    1. Still not able to run the default Tomcat Instance.
    2. However, was able to get to the console of Web Services Manager when deployed to a Weblogic 8.1 SP3 instance.
But after configuring a gateway, registering a service and comitting the policies etc. as described by the book, when I try to access the service using the URL
    http://localhost:7001/gateway/services/SID0003006?wsdl
http://localhost:7001/gateway is where the gateway.war is deployed.
    I get
Oracle Web Services Manager Gateway : Cannot find WSDL for service "SID0003006"
I can't execute the service either..

  • Difference between Solution manager and ASAP

    Hi All,
Can anyone tell me what's the difference between SAP solution manager and ASAP?
    Regards
    Saroj

ASAP stands For Accelerated SAP........its a SAP implementation methodology. It consists of Five phases---
    1. Project Preparation
    2. Business Blueprint
    3. Realization phase
    4. Final preparation phase
    5. Go live and Support
For Solution manager u can follow this link:
    http://www.sap.com/services/pdf/BWP_SB_SAP_Solution_Manager.pdf
ASAP and Solution Manager are tools used for managing SAP implementation and roll out project. Both supports sevral stages of the project as mention by Raj.
The main Difference between three tools (ASAP, VSAP and Solution Manager) are as follow:
    ASAP:
    - Offline CD set with tools, content and a methodology for component-based implementation projects
    VSAP:
    - Offline CD set with tools, content and methodologies for Evaluation, Implementation and Continuous Business Improvement
    - ASAP CD set is used as a tool platform. ASAP content is included to cover the implementation phase
    Solution Manager:
    - Onsite platform to support key implementation actitivities
    - Including key ASAP concepts and tool features
    - Enhanced concepts to encompass the specifics of mySAP.com implementations
    - Integrated platform to support Implementation and operation of mySAP.com
    - Solution Manager is server based tool.
More informaiton you can find from the following links:
    ValueSAP : https://www.service.sap.com/valuesapupdates
    Solution Manager: http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager
some documents what is the duty of asap and solution manager i think with u can understand the difference.
    asap means,
    ASAP
ASAP stands for Accelerated SAP. Its purpose is to help design SAP implementation in the most efficient
manner possible. Its goal is to effectively optimize time, people, quality and other resources, using a proven
    methodology to implementation.
ASAP focuses on tools and training, wrapped up in a five-phase process oriented roadmap for guiding
    implementation.
The road map is composed of five well-known consecutive phases:
    • Phase 1 Project Preparation
    • Phase 2 Business Blueprint
    • Phase 3 Realization
    • Phase 4 Final Preparation
    • Phase 5 Go-Live and support
In today's post we will discuss the first phase.
    Phase 1 : Project Preparation
Phase 1 initiates with a retrieval of information and resources. It is an important time to assemble the
necessary components for the implementation. Some important milestones that need to be accomplished
    for phase 1 include
    • Obtaining senior-level management/stakeholder support
    • identifying clear project objectives
    • architecting an efficient decision-making process
    • creating an environment suitable for change and re-engineering
    • building a qualified and capable project team.
    Senior level management support:
One of the most important milestones with phase 1 of ASAP is the full agreement and cooperation of the
important company decision-makers - key stakeholders and others. Their backing and support is crucial for a
    successful implementation.
    Clear project objectives:
be concise in defining what your objectives and expectations are for this venture. Vague or unclear notions of
what you hope to obtain with SAP will handicap the implementation process. Also make sure that your
expectations are reasonable considering your company's resources. It is essential to have clearly defined
ideas, goals and project plans devised before moving forward.
    An efficient decision making process:
One obstacle that often stalls implementation is a poorly constructed decision-making process. Before
embarking on this venture, individuals need to be clearly identified. Decide now who is responsible for
different decisions along the way. From day one, the implementation decision makers and project leaders
from each area must be aware of the onus placed on them to return good decisions quickly.
Environment suitable for change and re engineering:
Your team must be willing to accept that, along with new SAP software, things are going to change, the
business will change, and information technology enabling the business will change as well. By
implementing SAP, you will essentially redesign your current practices to model more efficient or predefined
best business practices as espoused by SAP. Resistance to this change will impede the progress of your
    implementation.
    Building a qualified project team:
Probably the most important milestone early in assembling a project team for the implementation. If you are
implementing the materials management and plant maintenance modules, you need to include people from
both of these departments. The team should also represent management as well as non management or
"functional" personnel. Sometimes management is less aware of the day-to-day functions of an organization,
including how implementing SAP will tactically influence those function
    ASAP- Second Phase- Business Blueprint
SAP has defined a business blueprint phase to help extract pertinent information about your company that is
necessary for implementation. These blueprints are in the form of questionnaires that are designed to probe
for information that uncovers how your company does business. As such, they also serve to document the
implementation. Each business blueprint document essentially outlines your future business processes and
business requirements. The kinds of questions asked are germane to the particular business function, as
seen in the following sample questions:
    1) What information do you capture on a purchase order?
    2) What information is required to complete a purchase order?
Accelerated SAP question and answer database:
The question and answer database (QADB) is a simple although aging tool designed to facilitate the creation
and maintenance of your business blueprint. This database stores the questions and the answers and
serves as the heart of your blue print. Customers are provided with a customer input template for each
application that collects the data. The question and answer format is standard across applications to
facilitate easier use by the project team.
    Issues database:
Another tool used in the blueprinting phase is the issues database. This database stores any open concerns
and pending issues that relate to the implementation. Centrally storing this information assists in gathering
and then managing issues to resolution, so that important matters do not fall through the cracks. You can
then track the issues in database, assign them to team members, and update the database accordingly.
    ASAP Phase- 3 - Realization:
With the completion of the business in phase 2, "functional" experts are now ready to begin configuring SAP.
The Realization phase is broken in to two parts.
    1) Your SAP consulting team helps you configure your baseline system, called the baseline configuration.
    2) Your implementation project team fine-tunes that system to meet all your business and process
requirements as part of the fine tuning configuration.
The initial configuration completed during the base line configuration is based on the information that you
provided in your blueprint document. The remaining approximately 20% of your configuration that was not
tackled during the baseline configuration is completed during the fine tuning configuration. Fine tuning
usually deals with the exceptions that are not covered in baseline configuration. This final bit of tweaking
represents the work necessary to fit your special needs.
    Configuration Testing:
With the help of your SAP consulting team, you segregate your business processes into cycles of related
business flows. The cycles serve as independent units that enable you to test specific parts of the business
process. You can also work through configuring the SAP implementation guide (IMG). A tool used to assist
you in configuring your SAP system in a step-by-step manner.
    Knowledge Transfer:
As the configuration phase comes to a close, it becomes necessary for the Project team to be self-sufficient
in their knowledge of the configuration of your SAP system. Knowledge transfer to the configuration team
tasked with system maintenance (that is, maintenance of the business processes after Go-live) needs to be
    completed at this time.
In addition, the end users tasked with actually using the system for day-to-day business purposes must be
    trained.
ASAP Methodology - Phase 4 - Final Preparation:
As phase 3 merges into phase 4, you should find yourselves not only in the midst of SAP
training, but also in the midst of rigorous functional and stress testing. Phase 4 also
concentrates on the fine tuning of your configuration before Go-live and more importantly, the
migration of data from your old system or systems to SAP.
Workload testing (including peak volume, daily load, and other forms of stress testing), and
integration or functional testing are conducted to ensure the accuracy of your data and the
stability of your SAP system. Because you should have begun testing back in phase 2, you do
not have too far to go until Go-live. Now is an important time to perform preventative
maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance at your SAP system.
At the conclusion of phase 4, take time to plan and document a Go-live strategy. Preparation for
Go-live means preparing for your end-users questions as they start actively working on the new
    SAP system.
    ASAP - Phase 5 - Go-live and Support:
The Go-live milestone is itself is easy to achieve; a smooth and uneventful Go-live is another
matter altogether. Preparation is the key, including attention to what-if scenarios related not only
to the individual business processes deployed but also to the functioning of technology
underpinning these business processes and preparation for ongoing support, including
maintenance contracts and documented processes and procedures are essential

I've scoured this forum for answers but I cannot find any result that works. I have an iPod classic that I've connected to my Gateway running Windows Vista for over four years without issue. When I was using iTunes 9 the other day, I plugged my iPod into my computer, but it only connected to My Computer and didn't connect to iTunes and update my iPod accordingly. So, the iPod is charging and the iPod is showing the "Connected, Eject before disconnecting" screen, but it isn't adding new music (which kind of defeats the purpose of buying new music). I thought it was because I was using 9, so I downloaded iTunes 10, but the issue still popped up.
This hasn't pop up today after I installed 10, but back when I was using iTunes 9 the following error came up on my computer: "Windows Service Manager 32-bit Has Stopped Working." Now, no error messages pop up, even though the problem persists.
I've tried suggestions in this post as well as in this post. Also, with the fix being recommended in those threads to change the code in Notepad by clicking "edit" under the System tab under My Computer? There's one problem - there is no edit button on my options. I've included a screen grab to prove this.
I don't know if the relative age of the discussions makes any difference - maybe a new fix has com up and i'm just not finding it? Plus, since this issue began with iTunes 9, I can't help but feel like getting rid of iTunes 10 is going to help the issue, either.
This is incredibly frustrating, not being able to add new music to my iPod, so if anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it, as previously recommended ones aren't useful.

One again shamelessly asking for help
