Service Pack 3 Problem (maybe host2ior)

Hello,
I use RMI over IIOP from C++, the client(Client.exe), and It is accessing to
RMI object.
When Servcie Pack 3 was applied, Client.exe stopped in
'NamingContext::resolve()'. And couldn't get RMI Object.
Length was wrong when it was compared with IOR of Service Pack 2.
Get IOR under JDK1.3 and Service Pack 3 and run WebLogic Server with Service
Pack 3 failed.
Get IOR unser JDK1.3 and Service Pack 2 and run WebLogic Server with Service
Pack 3 failed. Though it was natural because the format of IOR was wrong.
Get IOR under JDK1.3 and Service Pack 3 and run WebLogic Server with Service
Pack 2 failed.
Get IOR under JDK1.3 and Service Pack 2 and run WebLogic Server with Service
Pack 2 only successed.
Is this the problem of ServicePack?
When new ServicePack release if this is a bug?

I am Running Exchange server 2007 on Small Business server 2008 (SBS 2008). I tried to install SP2 but it fails both windows update and manually. Can anyone first advise me what version I'm currently running?

There is a registry key to match this and The administrator account used for setup has access to it i believe??? What does this log mean?

Please check whether you have permission. You can also check whether the key have permissions inherited from the Parent Key or not.
After changing the permission, please run the setup again.

ITunes problems after trying to install Windows XP service pack 2

Hey guys, I've been having trouble with my iTunes among other programs recently, and I was wondering if anyone might be able to help. Basically, my iTunes has been acting strangely ever since I tried upgrading my Windows XP system with Service Pack 2. When it ran through installation, it got all the way through. However, once I rebooted the computer, it told me it was unable to complete due to an unstable system. So it told me to uninstall the software, and I removed it from my program list.
Unfortunately, once I complete removed it from my hard drive, several programs on my machine started to malfunction. Now, whenever I try to play iTunes, it just stops working all of a sudden along with the rest of the sound software on this computer.
The big problem is, I forgot to back up my system before I did all this, so now I'm worried that I'm stuck with this dysfunctional hybrid of a computer system. So now, I've tried reinstalling the old Service Pack 1 onto the computer, but it always seems to cancel in mid-installation.
I know this is probably of a topic that should be posted, on an XP forum, but I was hoping that maybe someone on here might be able to give me some advice on how to solve this problem. If not for my computer, than perhaps at least for my iTunes trouble.

The reason I would think your iTunes stopped working is because your system is no longer compatible as iTunes requires Windows XP SP 2 in order to work properly.
If you want to back up your iTunes content then I would suggest opening My Documents>My Music and choose the whole iTunes folder and move it to an external drive. That is normally where all your content is saved, unless you didn't have 'Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library' selected in iTunes then you might want to use the whole My Music folder as your backup.

ORADC problem on Windows 2000 with Service pack 1 and service pack 2

Hi,
I have a VB application running on NT4.0 workstations. It uses
ORADC control to talk to ORACLE 7.3 When I load it on Windows
2000 with service pack 1 or service pack 2, I encounter some
problems.
The ORADC control is used in most of the VB forms and the
Refresh method of the ORADC conrol is used to refresh the APEX
TRUE DBGRID PRO control. When this action is executed, I receive
a run time error
"Method Refresh of object '_DORADC' failed Err#: -2147417848
It works fine when no service pack is applied on Win2K.
Can anyone tell me what's going on?

Having problems downloading itunes 10.5.2; box states windows installer issue. I have a 2005 with windows XP and service pack 2. Any ideas?

Just bought a new ipod touch for my daughter. It won't sync without itunes 10.5.2 loaded on our computer (a 2005 HP with Windows XP and service pack 2.) When I've tried to load 10.5.2, I get an error message box stating there is a problem with my Windows installer. I've tried loading the windows installer hot fix KB942288-v3-x86, but it didn't help. thanks for the quick reply. I had the same idea already yesterday. I use Norton Internet Security for a long time now without any problems. I think this a Apple or Microsoft problem, because the popup window which appear come from Windows DEP. I got no message from the firewall with any problem. I check the log files from Norton and Windows already but find nothing. This is a very strange problem. In the past I have had a lot of other problems with iTunes upgrades. Everytime I accept the installation of the newest version I got errors regarding missing "msi" files.

Performance problems after installing XP Service Pack 3

Hello,
After upgrading my client XP-machine to Service Pack 3, I have serious performance issues working with ApEx. Firstly, establishing the connection to the ApEx Workspace and then logging in both are very slow. Navigating through the workspace works fine, however when I then open any page for editing and/or try to run it, again it is very slow. As we work with PL/sql Embedded gateway I have changed the parameter SHARED_SERVERS to 10, but this did not make any difference. Remotely connecting to this server in other ways such as ping, connecting to xmlpserver, mapping network drives and connecting to the database all work fine.
My collegues also working witk Service Pack 3 have no performance issues. However when I performed a rollback of the XP Service Pack 3, the performance issue was gone!
Does anyone know of any issues similar to this problem?

This issue is probably related to an update of InternetExplorer by Service Pack 3. Working with Firefox instead of IE gives no performance problems whatsoever.

Since upgrading the software on my iPhone 3GS to the iOS 5 i have not been able to sync my iphone. It is not my internet securtity causing the problem, I have just downloaded service pack 3 for windows XP and i have uninstalled and re installed itunes! ?

I have uninstalled my internet security and that is not the problem (so re-installed)
I have updated the Windows XP to service Pack 3
I have un installed and re installed iTunes as well
And none of this has worked!
I was going to upgrade my phone to the iPhone 4S but dont feel i can now as worried it wont sync.
Please can anyone help me as this is rather frustrating now!

XP Pro, Service Packs 1,2,3, and sound card problems

I recently purchased a white macbook. So far it has been a very good experience, however I am having some trouble with XP Pro and its service packs. I've installed XP and it works fine for the most part however the sound card does not work. I tried to install the sound card drivers but they did not work. My questions are:
- Do I need to install service pack 1 seperately or does it install with XP?
- Can I only use service pack 2 for the drivers to work or can I use service pack 3 as well?
- When I try to install service pack 2, it says that i require 4 more megabytes, I free space, however it still states the same thing, how do I resolve this?

the 4MB error has amde its return with the Service Pack 3, so maybe these insructions can help you:
1. Click Start - Run - Type “regedit” and press enter.
2. Navigate to

\CurrentVersion
\Setup
3. In the right pane, Right-click and select New - String value
4. Name it as “BootDir” and set its value to “C:\”
XP with Service Pack 2 was always a neecessity with BootCamp.
Microsoft has add some with the SP2 that are needed for BootCamp to work.
For older (pre-SP2 XP-CDs) you can use these instructions http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxpsp2slipstream.asp to make yourself a XP SP2 installation CD.
Works with SP3 as well, but to my knowledge you must have a XP SP1 CD for start.

Crystal 11 - Latest Service Pack loaded - problem with Kyocera printer

We are using Crystal 11 Report Writer, and Sage ACCPAC. Since Upgrading our ACCPAC all the crystal reports that ACCPAC utilises are coming up as garbage on the preview screen. I have ruled out a sage issue by opening crystal directly and opening the respective report, the garbage still appears, if I change the printer that it is set to then the report appears fine.
The printer is a Kyocera - fs-c8026n the driver is a Kyocera Mita extended Driver.
Any other printer is fine - so I am looking for anyone who has had problems with a Kyocera printing garbage.
I have loaded the latest service pack for Crystal.
Can anyone please help - apologies if I have put this on the incorrect forum

Hi Jim,
You can upgrade to CR XI R2 for free by downlaoding the trial version, install using your XI keycode and then getting a keycode for XI R2 to enable all features.
Or to upgrade XI only then install the latest service pack will bring you up to date.

First thing, most of BEA's forums are terrible as people rarely reply. I noticed your post through google searching for the same fix. You have likely done the same things as me and have learned that your Oracle JDBC Client driver has some bugs interacting with certain version of Oracle Server. For us, this problem occured when we migrated from Solaris to AIX. We were able to fix this by downloading the latest version of ojdbc14.zip from oracle's site. You can either replace the current ojdbc14 file in the bea installation or make sure it is visible in the classpath for WLS before the old version.

Memory problems - WIN 2K, service pack 4 with Oracle 9.2.0.4.0

We have a Win 2K server that is running Oracle Server 9.2.0.4.0. Recently we upgraded to NT service pack 4 and have been experiencing memory problems - running out of process memory. We think that Oracle may be causing this, as we have done some troubleshooting. What may be happening is that every time we make an Oracle call, there is some kind of memory leak that is occurring. This is related to connecting to the C runtime.dll.
Is this familiar to anyone, or does anyone know where I can locate some documentation about this?

I think it is not so hard issue. there could be many reason for this. I will suggest that first you should increase virtual memory of your OS and then examine the performance. SP4 is basically security pack and most MS SP related to Securities issues they do not increase system burden.

WebLogic 6.1 Service Pack Giving Problem

I have install SP 7, but it is not able to recognise EJB Beans than after.
I uninstall the service pack, but then it is gicing following error related to config.sys file.

Try saving the license.bea file somewhere, install the SP, see if a different
license.bea is there and replace as necessary.
Why stop at SP3? Why not go up to SP5?

New SP, New Problem - UPK 3.6.1 Enablement Service Pack 3

Hi All,
Yesterday, I installed the UPK 3.6.1 Enablement Service Pack 3, and as soon as I started with my UPK session, I opened an existing document and started to publish it.
The behaviour is different from the 3rd step:
0) Some times at the very beginning, an error message is shown, saying that some styles were not
found off-line.
1) Almost the complete interface is shown with different field names (looks more variable name
then a title name) and also from some checklists.
2) Every time I select an option from checkboxes from left side, the publishing procedure
saves and refreshes the interface taking too much time (some times the computer does not answer
at all)
3) Once I finished selecting the options, I click on the "Publish" buttom and the following message
is shown: "An error ocurred during the publishing process. See OdDev20101210.log file for
more details." and then the process finishes with the last window.
4) I searched in my HD for that file to find out what is going on, but, no file is generated at all.
This complete behaviour happened all the times when I executed the same procedure several times with different documents.
When you receive a new SP, you expect some old problems are solved, or improvements are done that for sure will guarantee sucess in your daily tasks. With this behaviours I think I have to be more carefull with those updates, considering the step 1, gives the impression that no basic tests were done before releasing it.
Does any one can confirm if those problems happen also with somebody else?

It's quite possible that UPK was not installed completely based on the other issue you've described here: UPK takes too much time "Loading Library"
You should not have to cancel the process of loading the library. I'm sure Oracle Support can help you.
