'SESSION_MANAGER' error in ecatt

Hi ,
I am trying to record a transaction in SAPGUI mode ,then I select 'pattern' then 'SAPGUI record'
then give the granuality then when I press the 'start recording' button I am getting the following
message
Error in target system: User does not have
authorization for transaction SESSION_MANAGER or
transaction does not exist in target system
I am using target system as none
any idea how to resolve this .

Screen '0050' of function group SUU5 is the SU01 initial screen for user maintenance where you enter the user name.
If you get a batch-input error there are several possible explanations:
1. You want to create a new user but the eCATT data do not have a username
2. You want to create a new user but a user with the username does already exist
3. You want to change an existing user but the eCATT data do not have a username
4. You want to change an existing user but the user was locked by somebody else.
Conclusion: If you are very confident about the quality of your testscript then you have to search the error in your eCATT data.
Before executing command TCD 'SU01' do you check whether a user with the username of the eCATT data does exist or not? Obviously you need two different testscripts for this two scenarios.
There might also be a server specific reason. For example, if your suspicious test server is a daughter system of the CUA then you are no longer allowed to create users locally on this system.

Dear All,
I am getting an error while working with eCATT in one of our test servers.
I am getting some errors while executing the Test Script (for creating multiple users).
Error Messages -

I have done all the pre-requisites needed for eCATT script enabling.
Please suggest as soon as possible.

Error on ECATT

Hello,
Does anybody know how can I execute an Ecatt correclty???
Im geeting the following error:
Error in eCATT function CHEGUI
Error when starting procesing mode; possible causes: 1. Scripting deactivated in procesing system 2. User not logged with in 00:00:20 hour(s) or has not dialog rigths 3. Too many sessions open.
I´ve checked all three but for me everything is ok....any ideas??

I can suggest you what i know about Ecatt: just go throught the my below notes, hope u will find a solution.
eCATT (extended Computer Aided Test Tool - BC-TWB-TST-ECA) (which superceded CATT as of Web Application Server Release 6.40) SAP supplies free as part of the R/3 system to document manual user dialog steps and to record, edit, and execute automated functional test cases without user dialog.
eCATT can be used with the Test Workbench.
Transactions executed through eCATT require the same authorizations as manual operation by a live person, so eCATT can be used to verify user profiles.
In principle, the entire ABAP instruction set is available for use within inline ABAP code (CREATE, CALL, DATA, SUBMIT, etc.).
eCATT stores its data in R/3 databases and can be controlled Test Workbench, the Object Navigator (SE80), or externally through the BC-eCATT interface.
Test modules can refer to spreadsheets providing various data that are updated in CATT Maintenance mode.
Logs are created while test modules run.
However, eCATT is less suited for testing lists and display results, menu paths, online help (F1, F4), free-form editor functions, and transactions that contain the statement LEAVE TO TRANSACTION

Error in ECATT

Hi all,
I am working on ECATT. While trying to record the transaction, I am getting a pop up stating that "SAP FRONTEND ERROR. Erroneous Data received. Application may not work correctly". After this, I couldnt record the trancactions.
Is it related to settings or due to authorisation issue?
Solutions please.

Regarding an Error in eCATT

I am new to eCATT and have jus begun using it.
While creating a Sample Test Script, After entering the component (I wanted to record the trasaction for Maintaining Opprtunuites on CRM4.0), even before I started to record the transaction, When i execute the test script I get an error which says,

I have prepared a Test case through SECATT transaction. I am able upload the record into SAP through eCATT. But I need to give the values for each and every record. If I'll not give any value for a non mondatory field also, it is giving me the error message.

Error During ECATT test script creation

Hi,
I am creating test script using SECATT t.cde. I select traget system and click on Pattern Button and provide input as follow.
Group : UI Control
Command : TCD (Record)
Transaction : MM02
When I click continue button, I am getting error "Transaction MM02 could not be found in Target System".
I had check my RFC Configuration, its working properly.
Please help me to solve this issue.

Error with ecatt

I am trying to make ecatt to upload material master. the error I am getting for some of the fields is that the 'field does not exist in the screen'. Is there a way out.

I have allready tried it in the foreground. Even though it works but the problem with foreground is that it doesnt seems to be very reliable at some places it shows the green light with no errors but when i actually check it some of the materials are not created.

While executing test configuration, I got below error message.
S00349 Field COBL-KOSTL. does not exist in the screen SAPLMEGUI 0014

Hi Vikas,
Before running the test configuration, Please check ME21N transaction manually and find out the field
COBL-KOSTL and check whether it is mandatory or not.
If it found check your script whether that field is properly recorded or not.
May be this field is newly added as mandatory for that transaction

Error during ecatt uploading

Dear Expert,
when i m running the test configuration in SECATT,
i m getting the following error.
"error when reading the file 'path' "
i have chkd the file, i feel that file is ok as per my knowledge.
what may b d solution ????

Hello ashis,
Keep the file in the nearest location like , desktop ..instead of some folders.
And reduce the size of the upload file , if you are using a pretty huge file.
I had encountered the same problem some months back in SCAT...i tried the above it worked..so may be useful for you.

Error during ECATT recording ME31L

Hi,
I encountered some problems during recording with ECATT.
I tried to record transaction ME31L with SAPGUI command. When I run transaction ME31L without recording, at the end I receive the message with generated document number:
"Direct Shipment RM created under the number 5500000186"
During recording I don't see this message, but I receive the message:
Mail request 000000000590 created
and I can't see the document number. By the way, the document is correctly created.
So I can't set the document number as the script output.
Could someone help me?

Hi Simone,
You have to add Message.....Endmessage command from the Pattern.
Also,make sure that the auto-generated commands are placed between Message...EndMessage.
Eg:   Message(MSG_1).
       SAPGUI automated Generated commands.
       EndMessage(MSG_1).
After recording,note the Message ID,Message Number and the Message Type and mention the same in Message(MSG_1).
Also,Parameterize the output field against the correct Message Variables.

 i think ur problem is resolved. Can u help for the below issue.
 Scenario:
 And i working on testing server which does not have any trasaction, i have to record the transaction using RFC connection to different machine.
 I did all the that process and able to connect remote machine.
 i started doing the recoding in SAPGUI after creation of sys. Data container by specifying RFC connection.
 I recorded the script, but when i try to execute the same this attached error r coming.
 But i recorded the same using TCD(Recorded) using remote connection and able to sucessfully execute.
 One more thing also, we used write the script for reading the test data from Excel and pass as parameters using TCD(Recording).

Error while running eCATT for Best Practice HR- US

HI All,
I am executing BC sets through eCATT for implementing Best Practice of HR for US. While running eCATT i am getting two errors, i am not in a positiong to find out a solution. Can you guys please share your throghts.

Error in Control in eCATT

Hey,
I recorded a test script which involved recording of some values in GridView Control. I was using SAPGUI(record). The recording went fine but as i executed the test case it resulted in an error saying ..

The error is pointing to the screen where it has to start entering values in the grid. The execution stops there and gives me the error as stated above.
I am Using Solution Manager 3.2 with Web AS 6.20 to run eCATT. My SAP GUI is 6.40 with Patch level 8. Is there any limitations as such on Grid Control or some setting which might be missing. Please help me out ASAP.

Hey Sasmita,
Well I did a lot of research on it on my own and created quite a number of test cases and was finally able to deduce what actually the problem is.
This problem occured to me when the visibility of the controls especially Grids was dependent on the input data. Usually what happened was that upon recording the follow of screens that actually occured was not happening upon Replay. It was basically because of the state the screen is in when we leave a transaction. I changed the setting to "Do not Close Session upon Completion" so that i had the replay session available to me at the end or Replay. And i saw that the screen was not at the state that it should be. So what I did was changed the screen state on to which it should be at that time and then left the transaction. Now when i Replayed the test case next time it executed perfectly without any errors.
So basically the problem lies within just the dynamic controls and what we have to ensure is that before we replay the script we exit that transaction from a state which we want it to be in upon replay.

Error when using the REF eCATT command ....

Hi,
When the REF command is used in an eCATT test script to execute another eCATT, only the first REF command executes successfully - all subsequent REF commands fail with these error msgs 'Error in eCATT function SAPGUI', 'Error in Control', 'Message raised at CL_APL_ECATT_LINE_INTERPRETER =CM00K LINE   347'.
Executed separately, the referenced eCATT test scripts are successful.   Executed from one eCATT test script via the REF command, only the first REF command is successful. We are on SAP 6.7 6.40, GUI is 6.40 as well.

Thanks for the reply, Jonathan.   Still having the same problem after implementing your suggestion.   Any other suggestions you have would be appreciated.
The ResetGUI = 'X' was done for each command interface in the REFerenced test scripts.   The ResetGUI statement was only found immediately after the 'Command Interface' statement (wasn't found after the 'Processed Screen' statement).
The error still happens for the second and all subsequent test scripts referenced by the 'REF' command.   In the failed REF test scripts, the ConnectionID, SessionID, and SystemInfo statements are the failed statments (red lights beside them).   These three statements are immediately after the ResetGUI = 'X' statment (which has a green light).
Different execution options have been tried, including closing, and not closing, generated GUI sessions.
Really at a loss here to figure out how to get the REF statement to work !
