Set isolatedHtmlContainer height when displaying portal page

Hi,
I have a portal application which displays portal pages from the pcd in isolatedHtmlContainer.
The page's content is dynamic so the height is not fixed and therefore in the page's properties the height's value set to 'Automatic'
However, when working with isolatedHtmlContainer the height could be set in pixels or percentage only (I cannot set it to 'Automatic').
p.s
If the height was fixed I could get it by the profile of IPortalComponentContext, but if I will do that I'll get a string like 'Automatic' which doesn't help me...)

I read the blog but the javascript doesn't affect my IsolatedHtmlContainer.
Let me rephrase my question:
In the portal innerpage I display X IsolatedHtmlContainers (my application decides how many pages to display). Each container has dynamic content (a portal page from the pcd), therefore, I have a problem setting the height of the IsolatedHtmlContainers (too low - scrolling bar, too high - blank space).
The properties of the portal pages from the pcd are set as follows:
isolation method - URL
height method: Automatic
If I display the pages without the IsolatedHtmlContainers, the 'Automatic' feature works and the page's size is OK.
So my question is:
Is there a way for the IsolatedHtmlContainer adjust its size according to its content?

Are you saying you have two separate WD Applications (both FPM) which you want to run as two iViews in the same Portal Page? If so, this is a very basic NetWeaver Portal capability - to add more than one iView to a Page. However this isn't the correct forum to discuss this, as that discussion would belong in the NetWeaver Portal Forum.

Netscape 4.76 not will not display portal page

I understand from metalink document 136120.1 that no 4.7 Netscape browsers are supported.
I have a portal page that will not display for my 4.7x surfers.
Is this remedied by the latest patch? Will it be a problem in v2?
Is it clear that this basically keeps us from using portal for public sites?

Hello,
maybe you could try to rename the user profile, so windows will generate a new profile, when this user logs on to his machine. afterwards you can copy the important data from the renames profile to the new profile. perhaps this eliminates the problem.
if you switch javascript off, you will also get just a small bar from the portal. maybe on this client something is installed, that switches javascipt off?

Url iview showing error when displaying a page with frames

Hi,
I have a requirement of putting a site in a url iview in the portal. I created a url iview and when I preview it, it displays correctly. When I assign this to a role and access it through the navigation, it gives an error.
The weird thing is that, it works sometimes and it does not work sometimes. The url I am trying to display is working fine, because even when the portal shows error, if I try the url straight from the browser, it loads without any errors.
So what could be the problem? The site I am trying to display contains frames. Could this be the problem? If so, why is it working sometimes and does not work sometimes?

Hi Martin,
The issue is still there. But one interesting thing that was noticed by my team mate was that if you add the site to the list of sites on browser which can use cookies, everything works fine. Similarly, if I reduce the privacy setting of my browser to Low, it works fine.
Again, even if you keep the privacy setting as Medium and does not allow the site to use cookies, the iview opens fine if you open it in a new window.
Any thoughts on this?

Metadata error displaying portal page

Hi,
I have installed the AS infrastructure, BI and Portal, but when I type http://localhost:7779/pls/portal I get and error that just says it wasn't possible to get the metadata from portal database. I can't find this error anywhere on the web.
In AS control center, I can see that all the components' status are up: portal, 0c4j portal...

Alternatively - call the URL http://<servername>:<port>/pls/portal/htp.p?cbuf=test (replace <servername> and <port> with the values for your midtier). This should print the wordt test in your browser. If this is successful, you will know that the Appserver can connect to the database. If not, check the application.log in $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_Portal/application-deployments/portal/OC4J_Portal_Defaults_Island_1 for potential errors.

Firefox consumes CPU when displaying static pages

In the Windows Task manager I see that the Firefox.exe process consumes constantly 7 to 18 % of CPU even if I display a static page.
E.g. Now when entering t6his message on the Firefox Help page, I have only 1 Firefox window and Tab open. The Firefox.exe process consumes 14 to 18 % of CPU.
I have noticed this since several months on several computers.
Why does Firefox consume constantly a significant part of CPU ?
Could it be due to some malware ?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Page length doesn't snap to accordion height when accordion at page bottom becomes shorter?

Hello, I created a page with an accordion widget at the bottom of the page and rather than snapping to the height of the accordion the page sticks to the length of the tallest accordion height. How can I set the height of ui:pageSeparator to less than 24px?

I've tried setting the height style but that appears to be ignored.

I have tried setting the height property of the page separator, but still the height in the IDE & in the browser is more then 7px. Is there a solution?
This is the style property value of the page separator.

Different Layout within a webflow for one Portal Page

Hi All,
Can I set different layouts within one portal page journey depending on the hyperlink
I click on one of the portal page with in a webflow.
My requirements is such that if user clicks on one of the link on one of the portlet,
I want to show them the next page with different content in a different layout
with in same portal page journey.
Can anyone post the sample code to achieve this.

1 - you can not change the photo frame size if that is what you are asking
2 - you can enlarge the photo within the frame by selecting it and using the slider above the frame

Set Portal Page URL in Web Dynpro IFrame

Hi All,
I've a Web Dynpro application that runs in the portal.
The application creates iframes dynamically.
I want to set in the iframes portal pages.
In order to get the page's url, I go to content admin, navigate to the page and then press the 'preview' button then I copy the url from the browser's address bar.
I copy the url from the '/irj....' to the src property of the IFrame UI element.
So the source property looks something like this:
/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.mycomp.Omri!2fcom.mycomp.TestPage
When I run the project I get:
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
Access denied (Object: portal_content/.../...).

The page's permissions are set to everyone so I don't know why do I get this error.
So, how do I set portal page url in Web Dynpro IFrame?

I tried to use NavigatinTarget in the URL and it works. The problem is that the TLN is included. I want to display only the page.

You must give the Everyone group end-user permission to the iView. This will eliminate the error and cause a login screen to display.
If you want to eliminate the login screen, you must set the iView property Authentication Scheme to anonymous.

Portal Page fails to change when different link is selected

I have created popup portal page in the form of a JSPTabContainer. To get the page to launch I am selecting a url that is inside a JSPProvider Channel. The Url is of the form /portal/dt?provider=PopupJSPTabContainer. For some reason setting the property "one_new" for "windowPref" inside the calling JSPProvider Channel has no effect. However by putting target="_blank" in the href tag I am able to pop it up.
Then when I close that popup window and attempt to go to any other link inside the portal, it continues displaying the content for the page that I just popped up. In effect, once that page has been popped, the portal is stuck and every link makes that page content display inside the original portal browser window. I have to log out and log back in to reset it. Any ideas?

I am on windows. I checked in the locale directory and there is no amAuthSecureID.properties file there at all although there are many others! I found a copy up in the PolicyAgent\IdentityServer\j2ee_agents\locale directory and copied it there. I will see if that fixes the error. In the meantime Could you clarify what you mean by checking to see if the content is coming from the right provider? I took an existing JSPTabContainer and copied it. I then renamed it to a different directory name. I added it as a channel container in the top level portal desktop using the directory name as the channel name and using JSPTabContainerProvider as the provider. This should be correct right? And thank you for all your help so far!

When I open Firefox, it goes to a blank page instead of google, like I had it set up. When I go to a bookmark, nothing. It won't load anything. HELP!

When I open FF, it used to go to google. Now, I just get a blank page with the tab that says, "New Tab". When I click on the home button (suppose to go to google), it will change to "connecting..." for half a second but remain on the blank page returning to "New Tab". It is set to not use a proxy as it should be. It is not set to work offline. I do not have a firewall preventing it from accessing the internet. IE works and I have no problems there.

Have you tried going to the General Preferences tab and verifying that google is set as you home page? I'd suggest you try setting about:home as your home page. It's a cool FF page with a google search bar. Then tell Firefox to display your home page on startup. These options are all in the General Preferences panel. Try that and let me know how it goes!

Page not found error when accesing Portal from Internet

Hi,
I'm getting the following error message when accessing Portal as administrator from the Internet:
The page cannot be displayed
Explanation: There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed.
Try the following:
Refresh page: Search for the page again by clicking the Refresh button. The timeout may have occurred due to Internet congestion.
Check spelling: Check that you typed the Web page address correctly. The address may have been mistyped.
Access from a link: If there is a link to the page you are looking for, try accessing the page from that link.
Technical Information (for support personnel)
Error Code: 500 Internal Server Error. The request was rejected by the HTTP filter. Contact the server administrator. (12217)
The error message shows in the rightmost area of the browser.
In the left area I can see the Portal Content
This happens when using Internet Explorer 6, windows XP, sp2.
When using MozillaFirefox, the error won't show up, but I don't have full functionality when trying for example to right-click to create Systems in the SystemLandscape window....
To access Portal from internet, I simply go to http://company.com:50000/irj
Server side Portal installations is as follows:
EP7, SP11, windows 2003 64bits.
Any help will be appreciated.
