I used the above code, and the Help is displayed on the left corner of the screen.
How to set the location of the Help display? Can I set a frame as its parent? If yes, how to do that?

you can use HelpBroker.setLocation and HelpBroker.setSize, but both are new methods introduced in JavaHelp 2.0 beta release only.

Language sets location, or the nefarious lazyness of simplicity

Dear All,
I would like to understand how it is that any of you Apple experts resolve the issue of living in a foreign country and speaking a foreign language.
I would like to explain a little better my pickle:
I speak a few languages but here we are focusing on the problem. My native language is for sake of argument Portuguese. But I speak in English now that I live abroad. Incidentally I live in the timezone of Istanbul, Riga and Helsinki. The problem this generates is simple. It seems Apple confuse your language with your location.
SO, if I set my language to Portuguese it assumes I am in that timezone even when I set my timezone manually to say Finland. So, my computer system has the right time becasue I have set it manually as GMT plus 2 (At least that´s what it says on system preferences/advanced).
Unfortunately I am on Bootcamp now and can´t change back so can´t go through the time consuming process of revealing all the details and various attempts at different parameter variations I triefd yesterday for hours to no avail.
Please Apple, you used to make this mistake, and likely still do... of mistaking the Apple Store location with the language of the Apple Store. SO just because I live in a country I have to be fluent in their language? SO when all the Apple engineers come to visit the benzene stricken cancer patients, that they ignored for years in their IPhone factories to save a dollar/unit, in a last ditch PR stunt, how do they set their machines so as not to be forced to navigate in Chinese and have the right time on their calendar (China that is) while setting the system to English?
But back to my current problem. How can I have a setting that is GMT time plus 2, with a MAC OSX running in Portuguese, in a location that is my current location. Because all my calendar dates change language once I insert my current location. Suddenly days come in Finnish.
Thank you in advance to all the Apple enthusiasts that tirelessly help out for free such a profitable behemoth.

Mozambique idea is actually a good point so I will give it a try. That is exactly what i want.
But it is a workaround isn't it? I can't be the only person in a country that doesn't speak the official language that well.

Set location for the JLabel

Hello!
I've got an interesting effect and I don't have a list idea why it happens. I set layout to null in the panel and created some JLabels in this panel. Then I saved locations of the labels in a data base, exited from the window and tried to create the panel and labels again using information saved in the data base. All labels appeared in the panel but their locations were slightly different in spite of the coordinates were the same as befor. The top left corner of each label slightly displacemnts to the up and left. I used setLocation method in the JLabel and also tried to use setBound but result was the same.
Does anybody know what the matter is?

The USB ports on my 30" Cinema HD display appear to not work. The monitor has not been used for almost a year, when I upgraded to a new Mac Book Pro and the 27" retina display. Now I need to move the computer back and forth between two locations using the two displays. The need for operating USB ports is essential. Any ideas. The display appears entirely normal. Am running OS X 10.9.

Import a txt file from a location into the table through toad

The environment you described (and your intensions if I got it right) seems to call for a solution using External Tables (see Managing Tables)
You shouldn't have any problems using TOAD.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with a QuickTime program file there.
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "QuickTime" and then click "Repair".
Does the repair go through okay? If so, are you able to launch iTunes and/or Safari now?

Managing the Help Screen display location and TOC frame width

Is there any way I can set how the Help is displayed when it first opens? I want to force it that the TOC frame is a certain width so the text is displayed properly always in the same way.

Since you can see it in your device list it must have Find My Mac activated, but you're going to have to wait for them to take it online in order to either locate, lock or wipe it. Until it goes online you can't do anything. http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/find-my-device/

My iPad IOS software is 8.2 and my Apple TV software is at 7.1. The TV displays the Apple Menu. The “Settings” does however displays the General menu allowing me to see:

Signal Strength shows 5 circles.
It does not display the iPad screen but when I use the BT Sport App I can hear the sound but there is no video. I have searched the internet for a solution to no avail. The problem first arose when the IOS was at 8.1+ but it worked correctly briefly when I updated to IOS 8.2. Can you help please?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Restart your mobile device.

I know for a fact that the Canvas class 's paint method is called by the system and not the application. This poses a problem for me because I am not sure how to pass the image to the piant method, so that it can be painted.
When I run the program(using J2ME wtk04), this is the outcome.

1) when is the paint method precisely called by the system?after a reference to the canvas class is created?
2) is it wise to create the image when instiating the canvas class?( initially created the image using a separate thread)-when sould the image be created?
3)how to let the application know when to use the image when painting the display area?
I am just trying the logistics here. It is very crucial to me to understand the bolts of this as the core f my project fouses on the man machine interface development.(For the project, the cilent application is quering for the map using HTTP)
I use a png file of size 161 bytes. Is that too big for testing purposes.

After the canvas is set as the current display, and after that, after the repaint() is called.

It's better to create the image in the very begining of the program e.g. in the midlet initialization. You can call the created image as often as you like later on
3)how to let the application know when to use the image when painting the display area?
you have to tell it :))

After refreshing ALV display, set it to the current cell that was modified.

Hello Experts,
I am currently using cl_gui_alv_grid for my ALV grid display. I have 1 editable column
which lets users input values. Now, When users press 'ENTER' in the keyboard I refresh
the ALV display to reflect the changes done. But the display always "moves back" to the first column
so it is tiresome to find the current cell that was modified. My question is, how do I set the ALV
display to just "stay put" in the current cell that was modified after pressing 'ENTER'?

How to set up iTunes with an external hard drive so that there is not a double location for the iTunes Media folder

A very helpful postee got to the end of his knowledge level, so I am posting this for you tech guys to sort out. Bit long because I've tried to set it out step by step. Briefly I'm new to iTunes and my laptop has a very small hard drive and is virtually full and due to be replaced. So I want to use an external hard drive.
Now I know that iTunes installs itself to two locations: 1. Programs Files 2. Music. And its the Music location that bothers me.
I asked about using an external hard disk to store the actual AAC files. I was advised that in order to change the loaction of the iTunes media folder I was should employ preferences/advanced/ and this is what i saw (as you would expect):
Then I hooked up my hard drive, hit 'change', and this is what I saw:
I was a bit worried by the lack of pathway details, but assumed it must have done something on the external drive, so I looked on it and this is what i saw (highlighted):
But compare this with what was in the directory I attempted to reproduce, viz in the iTunes folder in /laptop/Music/iTunes:
A ton of stuff. The only stuff that corresponded with what iTunes had created on my external hard drive was in Music/iTunes/iTunes Media folder:
Now this suggests that there are TWO locations for my preferences. The advanced tab only allowed me to ADD an extra location, not REPLACE the original.
So:
1. Which of the two locations will iTunes choose when I add music? Surely it will go with the original pathway laid down in the directory when iTunes was installed, and ignore my external Hard Drive? I mean, how can there be two automatic locations?!!!
2.. I don't mind itunes library being on my laptop as this is just a list, but it obvoiusly has to have a pathway to the site where the actual AAC files are stored.
so surely it won't work unless the whole lot is on the external hard drive: library, extras, genius, the lot?
4. How then do I get it all on the external since merely changing "preferences" doesn't do the job?
5. Is this perhaps the reason why so many people report that iTunes does not recognize their external hard disk:

As I've replied to your other threads...
Easy method 1:
Move or Copy entire working library from current location to the root of your external drive. Press & hold down shift (option on a Mac) as you click the icon to start iTunes. Click Choose when prompted, then browse to ..\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl on the external. If you copied the library across then test your new library works properly after renaming the original folder, before deleting the original folder to recover space.
Easy method 2:
If you haven't really started to build your library. Press & hold down shift as you click the icon to start iTunes. Click Create. Browse to the root of the external drive. Create the library as ITunes. Drag your media into ..\iTunes\iTunes Media\Automatically Add to iTunes.
Complex method:
Required if you've already tried other things and now have media & library scattered around. See the post make a split library portable.

In all cases the idea is to get a library folder called iTunes containing a media folder called iTunes Media with all media inside this media folder. Once you have the library in this shape it is easy to reconnect to the library with the shift-start-iTunes method if the drive letter changes, move the library to another computer, and backup the library by cloning the folder to another drive.
