Set output path when compiling css to swf

Hi,
I'm using Flex builder 3 under windows vista, and I'm
experiencing the following problem:
Our application uses dynamic skins. The css files are
compiled to swf's and loaded at runtime. This all works fine, but
when I export a release build, Flexbuilder puts my style swf files
in "export/Users/username/documente/etc" I want to configure
flexbuilder to put the skins under "export/skins". Now I have to
manually copy them (and do this each time a css changes... grrrr).
Why not leave them where they are? Becuase on mac the skins won't
load if the path is "Users/..."!
So, anyone knows if this is possible?

This forum is for Flex 1.5 (note the forum name) and is
virtually abandoned. you should post this in the Flex General
discussions forum.
That said, except to know you are not alone, this won't make
you happy, but I experience the same thing. I have not attempted to
find a solution, because my CSS is mostly cooked and I don't need
to compile or manually move it much any more.
I will be interested to see if you find a solution.

  • Setting output-path in Sun One Studio

    Hi
    I didnt find a forum to fit my question, therefor I posted it here.
    My problem is that I cant set the output-path for my class-files when Im using Sun ONE Studio 4. I go to Tools-Options-Building-Compiler Types-Internal Compilator and there I find a field named Target. There is no way I can change this since it is only a Compobox with two options: My working directory and -Not Set-
    Does anyone know if it is possible to fix this?
    /Pontus

    Hi, PonLin
    try to mount your output directory, as you did with your working directory.
    I think the Target field of "Tools-Options-Building-Compiler Types-Internal Compilator", only shows the current mounted file systems.

  • Error while compiling .css to .swf using flex-compiler-oem-3.4.0.9271

    Hi
    I am unable to compile the .css to .swf using flex-compiler-oem-3.4.0.9271.  I see the following error. This issue is specifically on the QA environment and does not reproduce locally.
    The only difference that I see between the QA and my local environment is the load balancer. I read through some posts which say to comment the line which has en_US in the flex-config.xml which did not work.
    My case is that I am trying to compile the .css at runtime using the flex-compiler-oem-3.4.0.9271.jar file
    ERROR [STDERR] Error: Unable to resolve resource bundle "styles" for locale "en_US".
    ERROR [STDERR] Error: Unable to resolve resource bundle "core" for locale "en_US".
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Vinay

    I'd recommend the following:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/using/WS2db454920e96a9e51e63e3d11c0bf69084-7fcc.html
    and use the following for reference:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/using/WS2db454920e96a9e51e63e3d11c0bf69084-7a92.html
    or better yet on commandline:
    mxmlc -help list details
    Normally you'll have to reference this list of available options ( same for compc ), then formulate your commandline options.
    Your commandline will probably looks something like this:
    mxmlc -library-path+=path_to_lccs_sdk/libs/player10 -source-path+=src src/MyApp.mxml
    Depending on your needs you'll have to play around with "-include-libraries" and "-external-library-path" params as well.
    Hope that helps,

  • Compiling CSS into SWF, folders

    Hello all!
    I'm compiling a few CSS files into SWF to have them available
    at runtime. Unfortunatly, these are currently located in the root
    directory of my application but I would like them to be in a style
    folder. Any idea on how to do it (At compile time)?
    Even by editing the .actionscriptproperties, it doesnt change
    anything:
    <buildCSSFileEntry destPath="bin-debug/style"
    sourcePath="flex_src/style.css"/>
    Also I'm talking about the destination folder only since the
    css file won't compile if I place it somewhere else than the root
    directory ( it uses a classreference )

    Hi,
    In you rsl project properties, go to Flex Library Build Path and go to library path tab. Here you can edit your imported library. There's no need in RSL to import the libraries merge into code but external(even the Adobe libraries should be loaded as external) cause you load it already from your application project (as rsl or merge into code).
    Bye!

  • Is there a limit on the length of the path when compiling HTML Help?

    I"ve been pulling my hair out the last few days because I have a project that has been compiling just fine but when I created a branch in RoboSource and checked it out and tried to compile I get an Unexpected Microsoft HTML Compiler error. I've looked and looked to find what might be different. Today when reading posts, (thank you to everyone who posts problems and solutions here) I ran across something regarding referencing a file that is too deep in the tree. That made me think about the directory names. So, I changed the compile location to a higher place in the tree and it compiled.
    Does anyone know if there is a limit on the path to where the .chm file is built and if so, what that limit is?
    Thanks,
    Nita

    Hi Nita.
    I'm not sure anyone has definitely found a limit although as you have found long paths can be an issue. I'd guess it is 255 characters as this figure pops up elsewhere. As a general rule I try and keep my project paths as short as possible, even abbreviating directory names where possible.

  • How set Url path in include .css or .js

    Hello Imansyah,
    If the JPG is on your application server in the (virtual) /i/ directory (referencing the /images/ directory of APEX), you should try:
    #pageWrapper {
    /*background: #5b93cc;*/
    background:#999999;

  • Compiling CSS with a ClassReference

    Hi,
    I'm having problems with a (very) basic scenario involving
    compiling css to swf.
    In my project, I have a src/org/xyz folder, with two files:
    1) CoolBorder.as
    2) MySkin.css
    In MySkin.css, I have a class reference to CoolBorder:
    .buttonSyle
    borderSkin: ClassReference("CoolBorder");
    However, when I try to enable 'Compile CSS to SWF", I get the
    following error:
    "A file found in a source-path must have the same package
    structure '', as the definition's package, 'org.xyz'."
    Not deterred, I figure that I'll try to use mxmlc to do some
    good old fashioned command-line compiling. I go into my projects
    src directory, and type 'mxmlc org\xyz\CoolBorder.as', and I get
    the exact same error.
    The work-around is to have MySkin.css and CoolBorder.as in
    completely separate subtrees (i.e MySkin.css can't be anywhere in
    the src/ folder).
    Is there a way to keep CoolBorder.as and MySkin.as in the
    same folder? Or do you not believe this is valid scenario?
    Thanks!
    Mike

    I am having the same problem. Does anyone have an
    answer?

  • How to get the output path in Java?

    Hi all,
    is there a way (method) to get the output path (where compiled classes are put) in Java?
    thx a lot!
    Michele

    If you have already successfully loaded the classes into memory, and you want to find out where the classes are physically stored, then you can use Class.getResource() to retrieve the location of the file.
    import java.net.URL;
    public class Find
      private void run(String obj) {
        try {
          Class cls = Class.forName(obj);
          //Here is the change to input correct resource path
          //instead of class name
          String resourcePath = "/"+obj.replace('.','/')+".class";
          URL url = cls.getResource(resourcePath);
          System.out.println(url);
        catch (Exception e) {
          e.printStackTrace();
      public static void main(String[] args) {
        Find find = new Find();
        find.run(args[0]);
    }java Find java.lang.String
    jar:file:/usr/local/j2sdk1.4.2_13/jre/lib/rt.jar!/java/lang/String.class

  • RSL failover error when compiling a resource module swf

    Hi, I have migrated my application from Flex SDK 3.4 to 4.1. I am moving to Flex SDK 4.5.0.17689 (Hero Milestone build) to use the Spark Form control for better layout of the RTL languages.
    I am compiling my resource bundles into SWF files and using them. I am including the required framework bundles also when compiling my resources into SWF. It was working well with SDK 4.1. But when I am trying to compile the resource bundles with SDK 4.5.0, I am getting the following RSL failover.
    Loading configuration file C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder Burrito\sdks\4.5.0\frameworks\flex-config.xml

    What do I need to do to remove the above error?

    Dear Vijayudu1,
    First things first.
    1. Failovers are NOT errors. They are just showing that if particular url set for the RSL(Runtime Shared Libraries) as mentioned in flex-config.xml, is not found then they had used a backup url to get connected.
    Have a reference from : http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/using/WS2db454920e96a9e51e63e3d11c0bf674ba-7fff.html
    2. Try using: -locale en_US -source-path=locale/{locale} -keep-all-type-selectors=true ,and other paramaters for compiling resource bundles. Hope you may resolve your errors.

  • FlexUnit not generating TestRunner.swf when compiled with Hudson / Ant

    I've been dabbling with FlexUnit (4.1 RC2) and CI under Hudson. To that effect, I chose to test the server configuration with the sample CI project that comes with the 4.1 RC2 distribution of FlexUnit, and compiling the project with Hudson (now Jenkins after most recent update) and Ant (1.8). It doesn't work because it does not seem to compile the TestRunner swf. After exploring the artifacts in the workspace, it appears that the TestRunner mxml file is created as you would expect, but then the mxmlc compiler is seemingly silently failing to complete the compile step.
    It's worth noting at this point that compiling on my local dev machine does work (as it does on a half dozen other dev machines), also, the Hudson configuration is good for compiling other Flash projects. So mxmlc from the Flex SDK is setup and compiling other projects successfully.
    Here's the first part of the build log from Hudson / Jenkins as it tries to compile the sample project:

    After this line I would expect another line indicating the swf output and the size of the file - as I see in the build log on my dev machine - but that never happens because mxmlc never writes the swf. I have no idea why this fails.
    Then there is a bunch of other stuff to do with attempting to launch the test with Xvnc:
    [flexunit] Using the following settings for the test run:

    But of course by this point we're toast because mxmlc has not output the TestRunner swf, so the filename is invalid. If anyone has any idea what's wrong, or any suggestions on things to try, please let me know, we're desperate!!
    Thanks for your time.

    Try ensuring the flash player on the server is definitely the Flash Debugger, also you have set headless to false, it needs to be true.

  • Sun ONE Studio 4 aka Forte: How to set the output path for classes ?

    Help !
    Beginner's question:
    Sun ONE Studio 4 aka Forte:
    How to set the output path for classes ?
    As default, the class files are created in the same directory as the
    sources.
    In opposite, both JBuilder and Together support that there is a tree
    with the sources and another tree with the classes.
    The first answer I got was "not possible with Forte, but just if you write your own "ANT Build script" !
    a) Please point me to a ready-to-use ANT script for this purpose, if such is available
    b) Is using ANT instead of the MAKE as comfortable ? Besides the separation of sourcecode and classes, I would like to keep everything else to be the same, i.e. I dont want to edit the ANT file if I enlarge the project by directories or files.
    Tia
    Sincerely
    Rolf

    You can set S1S's options to place newly created .class files in a specific location.
    Identify the compiler that is being used - Open the S1S's Tools/Options window, expand Editing and select Java Sources. Note the Default Compiler value. (If it's one if the Ant options, you use Ant to specify this option, not S1S.)
    Open the S1S's Tools/Options window, expand Building/Compiler Types and select the appropriate compiler.
    The Properties tab of the compiler has the property Target, which sets the filesystem where the compiler output is directed. If you choose <not set>, the .class files are written to their source directory.
    When you set the Target, your change affects all classes that use this compiler.
    Very few options can't be set in S1S; the challenge is finding out where they're set!

  • Flsh CC 2014 Bug - SWF detected as SWF-Eploit when compiled a second time

    There seems to be a serious bug in Flash CC 2014. When compiling an swf for the first time, everything is fine. But after compiling it a second time (even without making any changes) the anti virus software of the server hooks in and deletes the file automatically because of a swf exploit cve detection!
    Anyone else having this problem or any suggestions on how to solve this?

    I've the same problem!
    My old .SWF version is running fine on the server. I can execute it from the website.
    When rename this .SWF version locally (PC) and send this exact same copy to the server by FTP, it 's rejected.
    Server response.
    > 550 Virus Detected and Removed: Swf.Exploit.CVE_2014_0564-2
    : /renamed.swf
    The file itself seams to be ok, scanned locally with Panda antivirus and AVG.
    I compiled it with the latest FLASH, still the same server response.
    I'll think to contact the server desk of the provider. I'll think it is a false positive for CLAMAV.

  • Classes not found when compiling for jdk1.3.1_01 on red hat 7.2

    I have just installed jdk1.3.1_01 (rpm) on linux red hat 7.2

    When compiled it generates the error:
    JTest.java:10: error:Variable "JOptionPane" is not defined in current context
    I have the path and classpath set to what I think are the correct directory paths.
    Any advice would be much appreciated!

    Sorry, typo in the classpath... but now when I compile
    I get error: "segmentation fault" then nothing else.
    This also happens when I execute a precompiled app (eg
    "java OldApp").This is to do with GLIBC-2.2, I believe. :/ (Pointed out by Niteen. :)
    "ulimit -s 2048" should fix this. Adding this line to /etc/profile or your ~/.profile shall automatically run this command every log in.
