Set PDF Document Properties Initial View by Acrobat SDK with C#

Hi,
Here am trying to set the PDF document initial view by the Acrobat SDK with C#.
Here I am show my screen shot which properties I want to set.
For this process I am referred Acrobat SDK and also following Adobe forums they also asked similar question.
http://forums.adobe.com/message/3866361
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4803264
http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk
And also I am used following C# code
      Acrobat.AcroPDDocClass doc = new Acrobat.AcroPDDocClass();
      doc.Open(@"D:\..\sap.pdf");
doc.SetOpenInfo(1,1,"Fit Width");
      doc.SetPageMode(3);
      doc.Save(1, @"D:\..\sap.pdf");
      doc.Close();
From the above code {doc.SetPageMode(3);} is working for set the page mode.
But I am having problem in following code {doc.SetOpenInfo(1,1,"Fit Width");}
Because it won’t work I do’t known, and there is no clear samples in the SDK reference document.
So please give advice and clear sample code/syntax to meet above needs which are marked in red box.

  • Document Properties - Initial View

    Is there a way to set the "Initial View" settings when creating PDFs rather than manually changing them all via the Document Properties dialog box?
    Most specifically, I would like to set the Magnification to "Fit Page" for all the PDFs I create. I don't see it as something that can be defined in the Acrobat Distiller presets.
    Haven't found anything about it on the forums after several searches.
    Thanks.

    Thanks, Dave.
    I will check that epilogue.ps out.
    Not sure why my searches of the forums turned up nothing.
    I actually use the terms Initial View (among others) and it gave me zero results.
    Obviously, your post should have appeared.

  • Rendering the PDF page to Bitmap object using Acrobat SDK DrawEx() or CopyToClipboard()

    I am trying to find whether each page in PDF document is color or monochrome.
    For doing this I am rendering the PDF page to Bitmap object using Acrobat SDK DrawEx() or CopyToClipboard()
    Once after rendering the PDF page, I am using GetPixel() to read each pixel value to decide about color or Monochrome.
    Problem:
    When I read the pixel to decide about the page color or monochorme, in some XP machines it is showing the PDF page as color and in some PC it is showing it as Monochrome.  Color quality in both the system is kept as 32 Bit.
    After this I tried copying the PDF page directly into clipboard and then take the clipboard image to decide about color and monochorme, but even this also behaves in the similar way.
    Question:
    Why rendering the PDF page to Bitmap object using DrawEx() or CopyToClipboard() is behaving differently in each machines.
    If required I will send my sample project.
    With regards,
    Rajeshrv.

    In SDK documentation, there is no methods are defined for getting the color of the page.  In color spaces and color values, we can set the color for drawing operations. A method AVPageViewSetColor is used for setting the color.
    But there is no methods defined for getting the color in the page.  Please let me know , is there any alternative way.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Can you save PDF Document Properties in InDesign PDF Presets?

    It's great to be able to save my PDF settings as an export preset in InDesign, but inevitably, I still have to open my PDF in Acrobat and adjust the initial view in document properties. Does anyone know if it's possible to include any of these settings in the InDesign export settings, to save time?   Thanks!

    Hey there,
    No, I don't believe it's possible to set the "Initial View" or other Acrobat-specific preferences through InDesign.

  • PDF Document Properties restrictions

    I'm trying to open a pdf on an iPad with Adobe Reader running IOS 6.1
    The document opens, but has a watermark (copyright notification from document creator) all over the document's pages.  This does not happen on the Mac or PC version of Adobe Reader.
    Yes, the document properties are set to open only in Adobe Reader, not other PDF viewing programs.  Why does the watermark appear on the iPad version?
    Thanks!

    It's not really a document property or security restriction as they are normally thought of. A document can include JavaScript that executes when the document is opened to show or hide layers or fields. It can also include Show/Hide Layer or Show/Hide Field actions, but these would only work if the viewer supports such actions. The script can check to see what viewer is being used, but if the viewer doesn't support JavaScript or just has limited support (like Reader for iOS), then the script can't execute as intended and the document can be left in a state that's unusable. So yes, such a thing won't work with Reader for iOS until it supports this type of control.

  • How to embed PDF document to a view in WDJ?

    Hi, experts,
    I have a PDF document for helping user to use a software product. I want to embed it to a view through interactiveform in web dynpro for java so that other users may read the PDF document. I don't how to implement it?
    Do you give me some hint?
    Best regards,
    tao

    Hi,
    One quick question, where have you stored the PDF? is it in MIMEs folder ?
    You have 1 of these 2 options to choose:
    1. Get the PDF data in Byte format, fetch the absolute URL and display it in an iFrame UI Element.
    2. Set the property of Adobe Interactive form UI elemets property -
        mode = usePDF Mode (This mode value does not change the original PDF document. The data source and the template for the creation of the PDF document are ignored)
        pdfSource = Path to the context element containing the PDF document.

  • PDF Document Properties - Author format issues

    As I am creating PDFs to load onto the web I am adding all the document properties that are needed to properly identify each PDF.
    However I run into the same problem over and over, when I enter in the author, any commas I use to separate names are then switched to semi-colons. I'm wondering if there is a way to turn this feature off or if I need to just start inserting names in proper order rather than Last Name, First Name.
    For example:
    Smith, John D.; Anderson, Rachel R.; and Hendersen, Martha
    -becomes-
    Smith; John D.; Anderson; Rachel R.; and Hendersen; Martha
    Do I need to start listing them like this:
    John D. Smith; Rachel R. Anderson; and Martha Hendersen
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • PDF Document Opens Upside Down in Acrobat 8.2.6

    I have a PDF document that always opens upside down. After I have opened it I will correct the orientation and then re-save it but when I open it again, it is upside down. I would appreciate suggestions. I am using Acrobat Standard 8.2.6.

    You are only rotating the view, not the page. You need to rotate the page (control-shift-R).

  • Why do images within a PDF look jagged when viewed in Acrobat Pro 10.1.6?

    Using a MacBook Pro running Mac OS version 10.7.5 with NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB graphics card. High-resolution source images look fine in other software, and embedded images in a PDF look fine when viewed on Google Drive, but curves and diagonal lines look jagged when viewed in Acrobat Pro 10.1.6. Checking smoothing options in Preferences only adjusts the position of the jagged edges; it neither enhances nor ameliorates them.
    I created a sample PDF to illustrate the problem I'm having. Created in illustrator, exported to PNG and converted to PDF. Here is a screenshot of the source PNG side-by-side with the PDF I created from it:
    Please note that when I preview the PDF in Finder, and when I view the PDF in Chrome using Google Drive, the image looks fine. Here's a link to the sample PDF:
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/77f5m6
    Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks!

    Unfortunately, as I mentioned in my original post, I've already tried toggling smoothing options. They don't make the jagged edges go away—they just change them slightly. In some cases, as with the sample file provided, it does help smooth the art out, but it never looks as good as it did going in, in a recent project, toggling smoothing options didn't affect the appearance of the image at all. Zoom does not appear to relieve the artifacting.
    A little clarification: this PDF was created from a flat PNG, but I have had this issue with PNGs and TIFFs as well, generated by both Photoshop and Illustrator. To reiterate, the PDFs display fine in other software—Finder preview looks great, and the same file viewed in my browser via Google Drive looks as intended as well. A colleague was able to replicate this issue in Acrobat on his Windows machine. This appears to be a rendering issue specific to Acrobat with regards to the files I use it to create.

  • Metadata properties - automatically set KM document properties

    Hi,
    I'm trying to set custom properties based on other custom properties.  I understand how the dependOn works for the "Allowed Values" and "Additional Metadata", but it does not quite cover my needs.
    Say I select one value from a dropdown list - I want the next property to be set to a fixed value the user can not edit.  This second property should be updated if another value is selected from the dropdown list.  There is not a 1-to-1 reference between the two properties, more of a n-to-1.
    Would the easiest thing be to write a service that would update the document properties?
    Hope someone understands my needs, and has the answer to them.

    Hi Bjorn,
    the easiest thing is to write an own metadata property extension. See more inforation in this SDN article:

  • Initial view 2-up spreads with single cover page

    I hope I have this wrong and i'm missing something obvious but elusive: It seems like there is no way in the newest version of Acrobat to modify a generated multi-page PDF via preferences>page display so that on initial view it will show as spreads and also have a single cover page. Is that correct? Is this yet another one of those Adobe modifications that makes a graphic designer want to bang his head on the monitor? Or is there a workaround? I would be most grateful for some wisdom as I'm coming up empty with forum searches.

    Hi again ej 5000,
    Your screen shot shows the application preferences, but you should see what you're looking for in the Document Properties dialog box. So, when the file is open, choose File > Properties, and click the Initial View tab. Two-Up (Cover Page) is available in the Page Layout pop-up menu.
    Is that what you need?

  • Why modification protected PDF documents cannot be indexed by IFilter 11 with SharePoint Search?

    Hello everyone!
    I have a SharePoint farm which stores a big number of protected PDF documents. Those PDF documents are protected against modification and printing! They allow copy of content and screen readers though.
    I had IFilter 9.0 installed and I saw that none of my protected documents could be found... I decided to upgrade the IFilter to its latest version (11) in order to be sure it was not something which was already fixed.
    Problem is that even with IFilter 11, my protected PDF documents are still not indexed! Is that a limitation of the IFilter? What kind of security configuration does the IFilter component supports?
    Thanks in advance for your help!!
    Carlos

    I will try to be the most complete possible on the security settings of my document:
    I do NOT ask a password in order to open the file
    I do ask a password in order to modify the document:
    Printing allowed: NONE
    Modification allowed: NONE
    Activate the copy of the text, pictures and other content: Checked
    Activate the access to the text by screen readers: Checked
    Options
    Compatibility is set on Acrobat 7 and later
    Encrypt the entire document option is checked
    When I apply those settings, save the document and then open the security settings tab with Acrobat Pro I see that everything is forbidden except the three following options:
    Copy of the content
    Copy of the content for accessibility
    Extraction of the pages
    When I close the document and open it again with Acrobat Pro or Reader I see that only two options are enabled this time:
    Copy of content
    Copy of content for accessibility
    So basically it seems the PDF document looses the Extraction of the pages privilege once I close Adobe Acrobat Pro.
    PS: I am translating the security options from French so they may not be the exact ones you see on your Acrobat Pro if you have it in English.

  • Some Adobe PDF documents don't print from Adobe Reader; with other software it works correctly

    Dear community,
    I'm facing the problem that some Adobe PDF documents with lots of colors and lines (size less than 3 MB) don't print on our printers from Adobe Reader XI.
    The same files when opened with PDF XChange or PDF Architect are printed out without problems.
    How can I provide an Adobe Reader that is able to do so? Any recommendations about solving the issue are very appreciated.
    Best regards

    Word document problem fixed at the moment by deleting and adding the Lexmark printer again.

    Hi,
    The Acrobat SDK is free and can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com\devnet\acrobat. Please note to use the SDK you require Acrobat/Reader to be installed.
    As for using it with c#, there are a number of sample files in the SDK that can be used to learn. There is also documentation online and in the SDK.
    Hope thie helps
